Five minutes ago, it had seemed like a really good idea. A hollow aluminum sphere filled with oil and a enchanted gem: when the gem received a specifically modulated magical pulse, it would start to generate heat, and in a few seconds the oil would expand enough to make the aluminum sphere blow up in a explosion of  hot oil and semi molten metal. Efficient. Then, she looked at it and realized what she had done: What if oil landed on someone's eyes? or even worse, what if metal did? Worse of all, a nail going fast enough could easily pierce the cornea and reach the brain. She wanted to defend herself, yes, but there was no point in claiming moral superiority as she made lifelong deformations the foes she didn't kill. She rolled the weapon left and right with her hoof, head resting on the table, and tried to think a way to defend herself in a efficient, but ultimately harmless, way. --  "Fluttershy?" The pegasus in question jumped to the ceiling at the bang of teleportation. Twilight looked around, confused, and finally searched up when a very angry Angel pointed there.  "Oh there you are. Just how much do you know about bat's limbic systems?" --  "Are you done yet?" Asked Rainbow, shifting uncomfortably.  "Almost..." Answered Twilight, glancing at a second-hoof book about the pony limbic system "...Aaaand there!" She said with a grin, horn sparkling.  "Is this safe? I kind-" a small circle of static energy appeared on Twilight's horn and was shooted towards hers "-eoooooh I cand feel mah dhonhe" She fell to the ground, eyes losing focus quickly.  "Yes!" Celebrated Twilight "YesyesyesyesYES!" with a pop, she teleported in some notebooks to annotate the details of the spell.  "Duilihd?" Asked Rainbow, barely conscious. With a small gasp, Twilight undid the effects of the spell.       Okay, this is something I wrote in like four minutes while lacking sleep, and I know I made some errors (Formulaic [sentence],[sentence], too much punctuation, in general the whole thing feels dry) but it explains a little of the mood I want to set up. First, Twilight rejects the idea of killing other ponies--even if she is quite a bitch because of her emotional fuck up, she is Celestia's student, and it shows. I am not planning, in any shape or way, on having any death on here. It will happen because Nightmare Moon pretty much seizes the power with her batpony guard (I will explain that shit when I have to, as far as I care they where all imprisoned in a timeless void when NMM was sent to the moon) and "militars"+"angry civilians"="bad crud dude", but it would be a mention in a report given to her at most. On the other, she is an asshole to the ponies that are trying to help her. This moral duplicity is part of what I want to show, making Twilight sort of an anti-hero who, in time, realizes just how plainly mean she can be to those who she feels at risk of eventually loving. Spike and Shining Armor are the closest things she has to friends thanks to the fears she has for some reason I still haven't decided (Rest assured, I am NOT making it a edgy backstory like a dead friend), and even if they help her as much as they can she is too set on her ways for them to do anything. Her relation with Celestia wold be a little conflicted because she was close to a beautiful and powerful individual who she deeply admired when she went trough her sexual growth AKA hormones mayhem, making she feel more than a little unsure if she wants her as a friend or as something more, which is one of the reasons she may feel so unsure about friendship; the other two are ones that she sees as ineligible as her couple, one because she perceives him as her son/lil' bro, and the other because he is her brother. Managing to break this glass barrier and admitting to herself that taking the risk of loving someone (Friendly or otherwise) is worth it would be the main undeclared goal, and when she manages it... let's just say, it generates a small spark. I don't really plan to have shipping on this, trough, because I simply lack romantic experience.
