- Abnormal Norman 43: Sand In My Eyes
- ______________________________________
- Be Brad
- Walking in the desert
- >You bent down to drink from the pond along with the camels beside you.
- >The refreshing water reminds you that you are no longer a prisoner of the corrupt general's land.
- "slurp"
- >The morning sunrise is making you sweat alot.
- >Luckily, the pond isn't too salty, nor hot.
- "Aww, man. I'm so glad we landed in this area. *slurp*"
- >As you continue to drink on, you slowly opened your eyes to see Amaranthine, naked in the pond.
- >Your tongue is paralyzed by the sudden realization of what she's doing.
- >She's seducing you with her ten year old body as she pees in the pond.
- "OH FU-BLEH, BLEH, BLEH!" you say as you desperately try to wipe away bits of the water off of your tongue.
- >"Oh boyfriend~" she says lovingly.
- >While you were busy caring for your tongue, she creeps up to your back, hugging you with her bare body.
- "AAAHHHHH..."
- >"Think of it this way, boyfriend. I'm always with you now. I'm always inside of you...foreeeveerrr~"
- "...YIIIAAAAAHAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" You yell, trying to get her off your back.
- >"Oooh. So touchy. Naughty boyfriend~"
- "PLEASE! WEAR YOUR CLOTHES!"
- >You then come to the belief that you're cursed for starting this whole super-hero shit with Norman.
- >I wish I was back home, playing my Playstation 3.
- >Instead, I 'm stuck with her in who knows where.
- "HURGH!"
- >You managed to kick Amaranthine off your body.
- "Look, as much as I'd like to stay here, I think we should find civilization first. We're in the middle of nowhere, for crying out loud!"
- >"Oh lover, you know how to live."
- "Yeah, well, I just want to live."
- >Amaranthine grabs some torn off jacket that got stuck in her dragon claws before from the ground and wore it over her body.
- >"So, where to?"
- "I wish I knew."
- >Amaranthine then goes to a corner to think to herself.
- >You just wonder to yourself what she's probably thinking about.
- >"If Amaranthine remembers correctly, I think I saw a village just up north when we were flying."
- "Whoa, really?"
- >"Yeah! It's far from that executioner's prison."
- "Come on. Let's hop on to those camels and head there."
- >"Aww. You want to ride something else instead of me..."
- >She's making this hard for you. Too hard. *cough*
- "L-look, just come with me and please stay quiet."
- >"Whatever you say, lover."
- "Ugh..."
- >You then went to one of the camels and slowly patted its head to show a friendly gesture.
- >The camel is peaceful enough.
- "Alright, you want to ride a camel?"
- >"Well, Amaranthine can just transform into a camel, hahah."
- "Yeah, well, too bad you don't have those bottles of chemicals."
- >You lifted Amaranthine up and set her up on the camel.
- >However, she keeps slipping off due to her inexperience with riding humped animals.
- >"W-Whoa!"
- "Just stay calm. You'll do fine." you say with a calm smile.
- >She just found you more desirable.
- >"Ehhyah..."
- >After a minute, she finally sat down still on the camel.
- >She seems to be enjoying it like riding a pony.
- >"Wow, so this is what it feels like when you're this height as a human."
- "You know, for a horny kid, you still have that little girl innocence with you."
- >"I am not a child! I am a mature 9 year old killah!" She says.
- "See, this is why you guys need an adult or a parent. You guys are just too...how you say, eager to grow up, that you take a warped perception of how adults are supposed to be."
- >"I know how adults are! They do jobs and do things for money!"
- "Amaranthine, it's not normal for kids and adults to join gangs and to kill for money."
- >"Oh yeah? What are you then? A cute guy dressed up as an idiot fighting crime?" she says in a sassy manner."
- "Look, we all make some dumb decisions. Mine is this, yours is killing for a living."
- >"What so bad about killing? It's fun!"
- "This is what I'm talking about. You're horny and you're in that edgy phase where you think it's cool to take someone's life."
- >"But it's cool! Playing as the judge, jury and executioner!"
- "Kid...ugh..."
- >You find yourself disgusted and annoyed by the child's beliefs.
- >However, stranded in the middle of the desert, maybe this is what fate wants you to do.
- >If you can't be a hero in the city, you might as well be a hero to her.
- >Change her perspective. Let her see why her choices are morally wrong.
- >You look back at her and shook your head.
- "You and me are going to have a long talk." You say as you jumped on a camel.
- >"Is it about our engagement party."
- "No. It's about you. I want to know you." you say to Amaranthine.
- >"O-Oh~" she says, mistaking your motives as a way to romance her even more.
- "Don't take this the wrong way, kid. I want to help you out. Your mind's not fit."
- >"What do you mean my mind's not fit?"
- "Look at you. You like killing, you know about sex and you're probably a drop out from elementary."
- >"And what are you then? An escaped mental patient?"
- "Sigh."
- >You and Amaranthine went through the desert storm.
- >The camels were on a steady speed
- "Amaranthine. How did you end up in that science gang?"
- >"It's a long story."
- "Not like we have alot to do around here."
- >"My life is completely secret! Even to you."
- "Then...then what's the point of us getting ...err... married in the future if there'd be secrets kept from the husband?"
- >Amaranthine pauses for a moment.
- >"No. Still no."
- "Oh fine. Can you tell me something about yourself that you CAN say?"
- >Amaranthine stayed quiet for a few seconds.
- >"Only if you tell me your story. Who are you, really?"
- "M-Me?!?"
- >"Of course you! You think I'm talking to your camel?"
- >Telling her your story probably isn't the best thing to do.
- >Might as well tell her a fib one.
- "W-Well, when I was a kid, I was bitten by a radioactive spider in a science fair that has me transform into a green hulking bachelor you see today. Afte-"
- >"I know a lie when I hear one." She says in an annoyed manner.
- "Ahh...f-fine, I'll tell my REAL story, only if you promise to tell me yours. Pinky swear?" you say, treating her like a girl.
- >She looks in confusion as to what a pinky swear is.
- "Just wrap the finger around mine. It's what we did back when we were your age."
- >She does a pinky promise with you.
- "There. Now we're bonded with the pinky trust." You say.
- >"Y-you don't have to treat me like a little girl."
- "When you get older, you'd wish you had more time as a kid. Don't rush it."
- >You took a few seconds to recall your memories.
- "My name is...err...Brad. I'm a high school student. A month ago, I was just your average regular dude, hitting on women and surviving classes. Then...it happened."
- >"What happened?"
- "A meteor fell from the sky. My partner, you know him as 'Noir-Man', got to it first and found the source of his power."
- >"The artifact!?"
- "How did you know it was an artifact?"
- >"I've been living in the Viri's shadow for the past few years. I hear things."
- "W-well, my partner found the ring and I told him that it would be a great idea to be superheroes with his power."
- >"What happened?"
- "First gig was with a small gang in the city. I even bought him a costume. It looked like a good idea at the time, but looking at what we got into now, I just feel silly."
- >"No shit."
- "Hey. Watch the tongue. Kids shouldn't say that."
- >"I'll say whatever the fuck I want!" The small girl says.
- "Kid..."
- >"What?"
- >You look at her with those father-tier eyes of disappointment.
- >She shows a small feeling of shame in her face.
- >"W-Well, what happened after that!?"
- "After the whole thing, we found out that another girl found another meteor artifact. One that started a seed of jealousy in my heart."
- >"Why?"
- "Noir-Man started hanging out with her more. They were bickering alot, but by that time, I wished I was my own hero instead of living under Noir-Man's shadow."
- >"Why didn't you?"
- "No powers. I look at him and...Chronos, and I look at myself in a puddle. The embarrassment and envy that I'm just the guy without powers on the internet. I was the Robin of the whole facade."
- >"Oh come on. Even I know Batman doesn't even have super powers. If he can do it..."
- "Batman's a fictional character who had 10 years of training. Me? I only have exercise during gym class. I felt inferior. Even the message boards on the internet knew so. They only ship me with Noir, but they never praise me."
- >"Oh don't feel bad. You're always a hero to someone in the city."
- "Yeah? Well, that won't help for the fact that once the whole Saints Bro thing blows over, everything will be back to normal, and I'm still the underdog."
- >"So what exactly are you saying?"
- "I wanted to be the hero in those movies. The man with powers, or maybe even the snarky partner in crime fighting. The hero people would cheer for."
- >"So why don't you steal the artifact from him, then?"
- "Two things: One, is that it apparently works for only one person. Two, he dies in less than 24 hours without it."
- >"Oh..."
- "Yeah. He told me alot of things about it."
- >"No wonder the army wanted any of Noir-Man's comrades as prisoner. They see him more of a threat than you."
- "Pretty much the point of why I feel like an ant compared to him. Captured as an interrogation prisoner instead of being a threat. Look at me. I'm disappointed because I got arrested for a reason I didn't want."
- >"Oh Brad..."
- >You arrive at the location of the village.
- >"H-HEY! There it is!"
- >She went on off the camel to run to the village.
- "Hey! Wait up!"
- >Amaranthine runs to the village, but something surprises her as she gets closer.
- >"Hey! The village is running away!"
- "Amaranthine!"
- >She runs faster, but trips over the burning surface of the sand.
- >"Ooof!"
- "Amaranthine!"
- >The village disappears from her eyes.
- >The girl couldn't believe her eyes.
- >"T-The village w-was just there."
- "Come on. I'll help you up."
- >You went off your camel to carry the girl off the sandy ground.
- >"What happened!?"
- "What you saw was probably a mirage."
- >"A... mirage!?"
- "You don't know what a mirage is?"
- >She shakes her head sideways.
- "Sigh."
- >You carry the girl and put her on your camel.
- "A mirage is an illusion that you see when you're desperate under the sun's hot rays."
- >"How do you know?"
- "It's taught in elementary, kid. These things should've been known by girls your age."
- >"Hey! Just because I didn't know about that word, doesn't mean -"
- "Just stay put. You're slipping off the camel."
- >Amaranthine stays annoyed for a while as you adjust her on the animal.
- >"I guess you're mad at me for leading you into a desert of nothingness?"
- "No." You say calmly.
- >You then lead the camel out of the barren desert in hopes of finding land soon enough.
- >Walking on boots with holes, you endure the desert pain and moved on.
- "So, care to tell me your own story?"
- >"Huh?"
- "You promised that if I told you mine, you tell me yours.
- >Amaranthine looks away from you.
- "Come on. A promise is a promise."
- >"I...I don't really feel like it..."
- "Come on...."
- >"..."
- >She continues to be silent. She doesn't want to talk as much as before.
- "Are you alright?"
- >She slowly loses consciousness and falls off the camel.
- "Amaranthine!"
- >You catch her body falling off the camel.
- >You check her body temperature with your hand.
- "Oh man, you're burning up."
- >She's sick.
- >You look left and right to find some place to stay.
- >A lone broken wall is nearby.
- >You went there and tied the camel to the wall.
- >You then gently laid her body to the ground.
- >Amaranthine wakes up in surprise.
- >"W-What's going on?"
- "You have a fever."
- >"A...a what!?"
- >You check her body temperature some more. No sweat, cold hands. She's ill.
- "Oh no...you're getting worse than I thought."
- >"Ahh...."
- "You can't keep still on a camel now, huh?"
- >"I can still...ugh..."
- >She tries to stand up, but her body and headache's too weak to do so.
- >"Am I going to die?" She says in a sobbing voice.
- "No. No you're not. Not while I'm around."
- >Amaranthine smiled as she puts her trust in you.
- "Stay here. I'm going to find a pond. You're going to need it."
- >"Can't you just take me with you?"
- "You can't really ride on the camel very well in your state."
- >Amaranthine nods and lets you off to find some water.
- >She watches you ride away on the camel to find some water/
- >The sun's glaring heat is starting to get to her.
- >She's becoming a bit more self aware.
- >She's looking left and right. Something's bothering her.
- >"Hurgh..."
- >Amaranthine bends over to puke.
- >The sun isn't helping with her current predicament.
- >She take off her jacket and uses it to hide from the sun's heat.
- >Shaking and scared, she slowly stands up and walks around, trying to stay awake.
- >Hallucinations are starting to show up.
- >She's horrified at what she sees.
- >"Ahh..."
- >Dead bodies from her past.
- >A bloody scene drenched in sand. She sees her work around and around.
- >Amaranthine runs back to the wall and trips over the ground.
- >"Ah. S-shoot..."
- >Her foot is grazed. Almost bleeding from the broken skin.
- >This triggers a flashback hallucination from before.
- >How she had her first kill
- *SHING*
- >"No..."
- >Her first gun.
- *BANG*
- >"NOO!"
- >Her first Saint's Bro massacre.
-
>>>"M-Mercy...me-GAK..."
-
"Yes. YES. YEEESSSS!"
- >"NOOOOO!"
- >Amaranthine punches the wall on her side.
- >She's had a sudden realization in the middle of nowhere.
- >"I...I lived a life...a terrible life..."
- >Amaranthine cries on her own as she slowly copes with the fact that she's a killer. A monster.
- >The tears from her eyes pour down on her lips.
- >Out of instinct, she licks them in an attempt to drink water.
- >She couldn't think straight. The desert has gotten to her head.
- >A few minutes later, she notices a shadow moving on the ground.
- >She looks at it for a moment.
- >The shadow mimics her shape, but not her movement.
- >She's petrified at what's going on.
- >The shadow waves at her.
- >She reluctantly waves back.
- >Amaranthine puts her palm on the shadow's waving hand.
- >The shadow looks at her and gives a gasglow smile (a small cut of light shows this)
- >Amaranthine smiles at the cute shadow, but in a few seconds, the shadow slowly morphs into something bigger.
- >"H-Huh...?"
- >The shadow turns into a monster, the size of an orc.
- >The shadow orc moves in a monstrous way, waving its fists up.
- >She back away from the shadow as it breaks out of the ground.
- >It slowly reaches out to her, trying to grab her.
- >"NOOO!"
- >The monster grumbles and laughs.
- >Faces of the people She had murdered and tortured pops out of its body.
- >They scream at ger. They yell at her. They want her dead.
- >Its face slowly morphs into a familiar face.
- >It wasn't Gilda. It wasn't Brad
- >"NOOOOOO!"
- >It was Cherry Jubilee.
- >"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!"
- >With a scream, you wake up in the desert.
- >It was a bad dream. A horrible nightmare.
- >Your heart beats fast. You've begun sweating, which is a good thing under a feverish body.
- >Amaranthine stands up to check the area out.
- >A lone man walks towards the wall
- >"Oh crap..."
- >He looks different from Brad. Has a sunhat, fully clothed, huge backpack.
- >He's riding on a camel.
- >She stumble on the ground and panicked.
- >She then grabs a small loose pipe and held on to it.
- >Her weak body is trying to pull herself together.
- >The mysterious man moves in closer.
- >And closer
- >closer
- >"HAAARRGH!" You say as you leap over the wall to attack the man.
- *DONK*
- "UGAH!"
- >The man falls to the ground, unconscious.
- >Scared shitless, she runs away from the man in a fright.
- >Almost naked, she run towards the barren desert.
- >Huffing and puffing, the desert's slowly screwing with her mind.
- >"W-Wait...m-maybe...ahh!"
- >She trips over the sand once more, rolling on the ground.
- >Her body is in pain. She can't run anymore.
- >"Ahh..."
- >She crawls on all four, desperate to find a place to hide
- >She sees a small house nearby.
- >She runs towards it, hoping to find shelter.
- >Instead, the house disappears the moment she got close to it.
- >"Another mi...mirage..."
- >She had almost lost hope, until she found a small brown shell in the middle of the desert.
- >Is it a mirage again? Something real?
- >With nothing to lose, she tries to reach for it.
- >Step by step, crawling towards it.
- >A small flow of joy is felt when she reaches the huge brown shell. Almost 15 feet tall.
- >She touches the thing to be sure. The shell is real.
- >"YES! SHELTER!"
- >As she holds the shell, it moves.
- >"H-HUH!?"
- >The shell moves and burrows down on the sand.
- >"W-What's going...AAAAHHH!"
- >The ground shakes and stirs.
- >Amaranthine moves out of the way, crawling with all her strenght.
- >From out of the sandy ground, came out a huge monster with lots of legs.
- >A centipede, fifty foot long and wide.
- *ROOOOOOOOOAAAAR*
- >The monster dives back into the sand, slithering towards her direction.
- >It hungers for flesh, and she's the only thing within its range.
- >"AAAHHHHHH!"
- >The centipede monster goes towards her, but is stopped by the stranger from before.
- "ARRGH!"
- >The stranger leaps at the monster's head and stabs its eye with the pipe you hit him with.
- *GROOOOOOOWWWWRRR!*
- "STAY AWAY FROM HER!"
- >The man stabs the beast with all his might.
- >The centipede burrows back to the ground, taking the man with him.
- >Amaranthine is paralyzed, both out of fear, shock and confusion.
- >The desert is quiet for a few seconds.
- >...
- *BLLAAASHSHH*
- >The monster emerges once more from the ground, this time taking Amaranthine with it using its mouth.
- >"AAAAAAHHH!"
- "AMARANTHINE!"
- >The stranger grabs your hand before you fall into its throat.
- >The (now) blinded monster then rides towards the desert as Amaranthine and the man heads on off to wherever.
- "HANG ON!"
- >The stranger then jumps off the monster with Amaranthine in his arms.
- >The monster took no notice and burrowed through the ground once more.
- >The stranger then carries you out of the area as quickly as he could.
- FOUR MINUTES LATER
- >The stranger sets Amaranthine down.
- >Panting and sweating, she looks at him with unbelieving eyes.
- >"GET AWAY FROM ME!" she say out of spite.
- "Amaranthine, it's me!"
- >"H-Huh!?"
- >The man takes off his fedora. It's Brad.
- >"B-Brad!? Where did y-you..."
- "Desert bandits attacked me. I managed to beat them up but they got killed by...that thing... before I could ask them for directions. Only got his backpack, which had some clothes and a bottled water."
- >Amaranthine hugs you dearly as she cries.
- >"I WAS SO SCARED!" She says with a whimper.
- "Oh Amaranthine...Don't worry, just pour it all out."
- >You hug her tightly, sympathizing that, despite her edgy attitude from earlier, she's still a human being.
- >"B-Brad...*sniff*
- "Something wrong?"
- >"I'M A MONSTER." She says in remorse."
- "Whoa, slow down. What happened?"
- >"EVERYONE...*sniff*...KILL...AHUH..."
- "Amaranthine, calm down. What's the matter?"
- >She stays silent, sobbing and whimpering.
- "Here." You say, as you hand her a bottle of water.
- >She grabs it and drinks it all up.
- >"Gah....*sniff*"
- "Better?"
- >"..."
- "Wow. Your temperature's gone lower. That's good."
- >"But your camel's long gone..."
- "Come on. Let's get the heck out of here."
- >You then helped her up and gave her some new clothes.
- >She dresses up properly and holds your hand.
- >She stays close, in case some huge centipede would come out again.
- "It's alright. I'm not letting that thing hurt you again..." You say with your calm voice.
- >"Brad..."
- "Hmm?"
- >"Before...before I hit you with the pipe..."
- "Oh that? I understand."
- >"No, not that. I mean...before that, I had...I had some hallucinations."
- "What hallucinations?" You say.
- >"Everyone I killed. Tortured."
- "Amaranthine..."
- >"When Amaranthine was a young girl, I had a family but I did not cherish it. I had education but I did not care for it. I ran away from home because I was stubborn. I went through alot of things. I ended up in Viri Scientia."
- "..."
- >"Not the main thing, at least. There were still some Viris who still does what the 1930s did. They had it all, medieval themed rooms, clothes, insanity. They were crazy and chaotic, but I learned plenty."
- "Why did you run away from home?"
- >"I believed that I can be more when I'm away from my parents. I convinced myself that I didn't need them. Like a spoiled brat that I was, I only realized this mistake when I was alone and hungry. Anyways, ever since the crazy viri group took me in, they've been teaching me things."
- "What things?"
- >"Things that, how you consider are 'immoral'. I learned that killing people is how you gain power. I learned that only the fittest should survive and that the weakest should be punished. I learned those from them."
- "Wow, what a bunch of nazis."
- >"What's a natsi?"
- "Err...supremists who believe that the world should have an order where the strong should be made kings and the weak should be used as stepping stones."
- >"Well, I guess we can call them natsis. Anyway, after a certain gangfight with them and the Saint's Bros, I went through my first massacre. I killed them all."
- "..."
- >"I showed them no mercy. It felt good. They told me it was good. I smiled after that, and kept it with me for all these years. They treated me like one of their own. They said I was an adult by that time, but now that I look back at them, they were all a bunch of wretched drunk runts who shit on what Viri really stood for."
- "So how did you ditch them?"
- >"Another gangwar broke out. They were all killed. I killed most of them. Most."
- "Who was left?"
- >"My archrival. Gilda."
- "Gilda!?"
- >"Yeah. I know you and that green-hooded girl's been working with her."
- "W-Well, then what happened."
- >"Mistress Cherry Jubilee saw my potential, and took me in. Told me of the REAL Viri Scientia, raised me like a lab rat. USED me like a guinea pig. Gave me some brain damage, I think."
- "What did she test you on."
- >The animorphing chemicals.
- "That thing you did back at the base?"
- >"Yeah. My body had been able to endure most of it. In return, she fed me and gave me the job of eliminating any test subject she deems unsuitable to our cause. It was a bloody mess."
- "Amaranthine..."
- >"She fed my bloodlust, but she soon grew sick of it. She called me an abomination. Little did she know that I've been memorizing all her chemical combinations for the animorph project. Since then, I've been doing solo missions on my own. Cherry was pleased, but she was still disgusted by me."
- "So then what about Gilda?"
- >"Gilda was the one woman that kept on escaping me. It was the reason why Cherry kept calling me a failure. A failure to kill a woman like her. She was about your age when we last fought alone."
- "So Gilda's...."
- >"A reminder of Amaranthine's failure. Every time Amaranthine see her, or every time Amaranthine think about her, *sniff* it reminds me of how I wasted the opportunity to be a normal girl. How I arrogantly ran away. One failure is enough to remind of the others. I was obsessed. I was drinking so much muffs that I thought I'd overdose on myself."
- "Amaranthine..."
- >"So yeah...*sniff*, on a drug fueled rampage, obsessed with impressing mistress Jubilee and obsessed with proving to myself that I'm not a complete failure, I hunted Gilda down alot. I wasn't keen on their cause, but I was keen on making my mistress proud."
- "What exactly IS Viri Scientia's cause?"
- >"To have control over the world's natural resources. The way to a human's trust is to ensure that they're in good hands, or so she believes."
- "My god..."
- >"Yeah...Not sure what your friend Noirman's going to do against them, but they do alot of illegal things nonetheless..."
- >You and Brad continued to walk throughout the desert.
- "H-HEY!"
- >You see a small village from afar.
- >"You think it's a mirage?"
- "No...no I don't think so."
- >You looked closer. It's too real to be a mirage.
- >You sit down out of tiredness. Amaranthine sits down with you.
- "Oh man, I can't believe we made it out of there, and it's only sunset."
- >"I'm glad too..." she says as she hugs your arm.
- >Sitting down, Amaranthine talks to you."
- >"So what will you do after we go back to the city?"
- "Hmm?"
- >"Will you still stay as a hero?"
- "..."
- >"Brad..."
- "I don't know...Noir-Man can survive on his own. I feel like a worthless piece of room meat. A sidekick. Something equal to a pet."
- >"Brad, you're not a sidekick. You're a hero."
- "Yeah. Sure."
- >"I know you saved alot of people, and I know your heart's in the right place. You may not be a super hero with powers, but you're a good man at heart."
- >You smile at her.
- >"Besides, if they won't have you as a hero, then I will." She says as she hugs your arm. "My boyfriend..."
- "Alright, calm down. When we go back, I'm retiring from the hero thing, and focus on finding your parents. How long have you been gone from them?"
- >"Four years."
- "Alright. If I can't be a superhero in their eyes, I will be in yours. I'll find you your parents."
- >"And if you can't?"
- "I'll raise you like my own little sister. I'll let you live with me."
- >"R-really!?"
- "Yeah. Why not. We may have been here for a day, but you and I have saved each other's butts many times."
- >"Ahh!" she says in excitement.
- "L-Look, so long as you stop touching my crotch and stop swearing, I'll go on as planned."
- >"Oh Brad. You've made me so happy. After I graduate, we can marry each other!"
- "Let's n-not jump to conclu-AACK!"
- >Amaranthine hugs you and tries to dominate you on top.
- >Your lack of paedophilic thoughts makes you push her back.
- >"Hhihihi."
- "Haha...err..."
- >From across the sandy mountains, you notice a strange thing moving from the distance.
- >It's the General and his army.
- "Oh no."
- >"B-Brad! What are we going to do."
- >You thought to yourself. All the possibilities.
- >The general will probably storm the village nearby if you and Amaranthine will hide there.
- >But if you surrender, Amaranthine will be considered missing and low priority. After all, out of the two of you, you're the sanest.
- >You need to sacrifice yourself to spare Amaranthine the military execution. If they found you, they won't care about Amaranthine dying in the desert.
- "Amaranthine! I need you to go to that village and hide there."
- >"W-What?!? Why?"
- "Trust me on this. Don't come saving me, don't you ever show yourself to them."
- >"B-but Brad..."
- "Go! I'll survive. Just...just promise me you'll make it back to the city. Warn my friends about this place. Warn them all!"
- >"B-Brad..."
- "GO!"
- >Amaranthine doesn't understand, but she runs to the village without a second thought.
- >You turn around and walked to the tanks.
- >The thanks and jeeps stop as they see you with your hands up.
- >The General comes out of the jeep to hit you with his gun.
- *WHACK*
- "ACK!"
- >You fall on your knees.
- >Subtly looking back, Amaranthine is nowhere to be seen.
- >"Well, looks like we found the prisoner, but not the monster."
- "Monster? The centipede that attacked me!?"
- >"No. The girl. Where is she?"
- "The hell should I know? That thing dropped me 50 feet in the air and left me for dead."
- >"Hmm..."
- >General Igneous kicks you in the stomach out of pleasure.
- >"Soldiers. Bring him inside. Prepare the science guys for operation: Trojan Horse."
- >>"But sir, what about the girl?"
- >"Let the girl die out here in the desert. Everyone else, move out!"
- >You're brought to a van, thrown inside and left to fade away onto unconsciousness.
- >The general, happy that the search only lasted 23 hours, goes in his jeep and drives back to base.
- >Meanwhile, Amaranthine watches from the distance.
- >You had left yourself captured, but in turn, you managed to get her back to sanity.
- >She doesn't know why you let yourself captured, but she only has one thing in mind; get back to the city and to warn Noir-Man.
- >She knows you're depending on her.
