  1. Abnormal Norman 29: One Eye for Each
  2. _____________________________________
  3.
  4. Be Rarity
  5. Hours before Norman tranquilized Gilda
  6. Park, Picnic
  7.
  8. >"G-GILDA!" Rainbow said again in shock.
  9. >"I thought she was still in jail?" Pinkie said
  10. "Who's Gilda?"
  11. >"Yeah, and why'd she run off with Rarity's future husband?" Applejack teased.
  12. >Rainbow Dash took a sip of cold lemonade.
  13. >Pinkie's shivering while holding Gummy like a teddy bear.
  14. >"S-sorry Rarity, I gotta go." Rainbow said in a hurry.
  15. >She stood up, got her bag and ran away from the picnic spot
  16. >"M-me too. Hey Rainbow, wait up!"
  17. >Pinkie got her bag, put Gummy inside and ran towards Rainbow.
  18. >Twilight, completely oblivious to the events presently occuring, finally got a hold of herself.
  19.
  20. >"Sorry guys, I dozed off. What happened?"
  21.
  22. "This...this woman just came from nowhere in a motorcycle and stole Norman!"
  23. >"I honestly don't have a clue what's happening" Octavia added.
  24. >"Wait, who stole Norman?"
  25. "Someone named 'Gilda'. Rainbow and Pinkie seems to know her but they ran off before I could ask her who that Norman-stealing woman was!"
  26. >Twilight thought to herself.
  27. >"Norman-stealing? Rarity, you're being a bit over jealous here!" Brad said
  28. "I am not jealous! What if that woman was in a gang? A bad blood?"
  29. >"Or Norman's ex?" Brad deviously smirked while saying
  30. >His teasing has caused you to be flustered.
  31. "Oh cut it out."
  32. >Twilight snapped out of her thinking.
  33. >"OOHH, GILDA!"
  34. "Wait, you know her?"
  35. >"Well, yes and no. You see, back in my world, we had a Griffin named Gilda. She and Rainbow Dash were best pals."
  36. >Great, more of her pony fairytales. Oh well, I might pick up a clue or two as to who this Gilda person is.
  37. >"When Rainbow wasn't around, she'd bully all of the other ponies, including my world's Fluttershy, who was guiding a family of ducks."
  38. >"You sure you weren't in a mental hospital before coming here, sugarcube? No offense."
  39. >"No. I know magic isn't exactly a thing in your world, but bear with me."
  40. >She continues to explain.
  41. >"You see, Gilda believed in my world that playing it cool was the way of life, therefore, anyone considered uncool was shunned by her."
  42. >"So...she thinks Norman's...cool? Norman's not even a bully!" Applejack said.
  43. >"U-uhh, maybe she heard about the mean things Norman was being teased of, like being a racist." Fluttershy added.
  44. "So Gilda's a skinhead?"
  45. >"Well, Gilda wasn't racist in my world. I don't think she had ever said anything about being more superior than equine kind."
  46.
  47. >So, according to Twilight, Gilda might be a bully hanging out with what she thinks is a bully, or she might be dating him."
  48. >Octavia then whispers to you.
  49. >"Rarity, are you sure Twilight's...sane?"
  50. >You look back at the day you became friends with her. She does have a fascination for the weird and fictional.
  51. "Look, she hasn't done no harm yet, so lets just let her talk as she pleases."
  52. >"Well, I think I'm going back to visit Vinyl at the hospital. The picnic was pleasant." Octavia said, standing up.
  53. "I think we all need to go home. Come, I'll accompany you, Octavia."
  54. >"Ooh, ooh, can I have the remaining potato salad?" Brad begged.
  55. >"You can take the left-overs, sugarcube." Applejack generously complied.
  56. >"Thanks!"
  57. >"Now if y'all excuse me, I have some business to attend to."
  58.
  59. >You pack up the picnic blanket while Flutters helps you out.
  60. >Brad in turn, helps Twilight stand up and takes the picnic basket and carries it to Fluttershy's car.
  61.
  62. >Minutes Later
  63.
  64. >"Well, that was definitely one of the weirdest picnics I've had."
  65. "It's not always like that. We had Rainbow, Fluttershy and Brad by their throats, and then that 'Gilda' girl came along."
  66. >"They just got lucky. Well, at least one good thing happened to the picnic."
  67. "What was that?"
  68. >"Norman getting his nuts cracked by Lyra."
  69. "Front row seats too. I wonder why she did that."
  70. >...
  71. "..."
  72. >"OH CRAP, you think Lyra and Norman-"
  73. "-Were dating, and then Gilda came in-"
  74. >"-And took Norman away from her, causing-"
  75. "-Her to get jealous and went on to repay the favor?"
  76.
  77. >You and Octavia got the same idea.
  78. >You both laugh for a few seconds.
  79. "But seriously, though. What are the chances of that?"
  80. >"Why else would Lyra decide to beat up Norman in a public location?"
  81. "No offense, but Lyra's not exactly...normal. She's always quiet when we were classmates back at elementary."
  82. >"It takes a while, but she opens up, one day or another."
  83.
  84. >You and Octavia enter the hospital.
  85. >Going up the elevator, you bump into Nolan as the elevator doors open.
  86. >"Oh, Nolan. Come for another visit?"
  87. >>"Yes, was just about to exit."
  88. >"How is she?"
  89. >>"Nothing new, nothing dangerous. Don't worry, I have some people who's doing their best to help her wake up."
  90. >"W-wait, how?"
  91. >>"It's long and complicated."
  92. >Nolan puts his hand at Octavia's shoulder.
  93. >>"Don't worry, she'll make it out of this. I know how much she means to you."
  94. >Octavia looks down in sorrow, but quickly recovers.
  95. >"I know. She's strong, made her way through drug rehab once. She'll get out of this."
  96. >Nolan then waves at you. You wave back, and he heads off to the exit.
  97. >As he goes through the revolving door, he runs into Lyra.
  98. "Hey, it's Lyra."
  99. >Lyra slouches while she walks. Eyes show signs of tiredness.
  100. >She's accompanied by a gray blonde girl with goofy looking eyes.
  101.
  102. >Lyra and Nolan share a brief moment. The look on her face suggest anger and disgust.
  103. >She then moves on, heading straight to Octavia.
  104. >"Lyra! Finally decided to ditch Norman and visit Vinyl?"
  105. "More like made Norman ditch his manhood."
  106. >>"Uhh...yeah. Sure."
  107. >Lyra looks back at the revolving door. Nolan enters his limo and drives off.
  108. >She seems mad.
  109. >"Something wrong, Lyra?"
  110. >>"N-nothing."
  111. >She shivers.
  112. >"Well, anyway, I'd like you to meet Rarity. I think the two of you have met in elementary, yes?"
  113. >>"I don't remember her."
  114. >"Err..."
  115. >>"Well, I do you know you a bit. I remember writing an article about you and Brad when I was in the school paper."
  116. "Hey, that article was NOT true!"
  117. >>"It's the world of journalism. Besides, I'm out of that job. I'm in archery now."
  118. "Well, it's better than libel!"
  119. >Lyra pushes the button on the elevator.
  120. >"So, Lyra. What have you been up to these past few weeks? Surely you didn't spend all those times with Norman."
  121. >>"I didn't. I was either with him or...with her."
  122. >Lyra points to Derpy.
  123. >>>"H-hi."
  124.
  125. "You must be Derpy. I think I saw you once helping Fluttershy with her backyard zoo."
  126. >>>"Yeah. I got stuck in the chicken coop while Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash were singing something.
  127. "Rainbow Dash, singing?"
  128. >>>"...oh wait that's in another universe."
  129. "So, you and Derpy been long time pals?"
  130. >>"No, not since last week. She's pretty cool."
  131.
  132. >Looks like we found a new key to this whole Norman-Lyra shenanigans.
  133.
  134. >"And she was the reason you couldn't visit Vinyl?"
  135. >>"..."
  136. >"..."
  137. >>"Look, are you here to interrogate me, or visit Vinyl?"
  138. >"Come on, just admit it that you're dating Norman!"
  139. >>"I'm NOT dating Norman. I just happen to hang out with him while I'm hanging out with Derpy!"
  140. "Alright, both of you calm down. We're here to visit a friend in a coma, remember?"
  141.
  142. >The two women are silenced.
  143.
  144. >"Alright, alright."
  145.
  146. >Minutes later
  147.
  148. >You come inside the hospital room. Vinyl lies down, motionless. She hasn't woken up from her comatose.
  149. >>"Vinyl..." Lyra mumbled.
  150. >Lyra sat down and held Vinyl's hand. You stood by.
  151. "I'm terribly sorry for your friend."
  152. >"Vinyl will recover. I know she will."
  153. "How did you guys meet? You two seem really close." you ask Octavia
  154. >"W-well..."
  155. "Listen, if it's trouble for you to remember it..."
  156.
  157. >"Since we're all here, I guess I can tell you the story of me and Vinyl before I met Lyra."
  158. >>>"Oh boy, flashbacks!" Derpy enthusiastically yelled."
  159. >"Err...yes. Well many years ago, me and Vinyl were elementary classmates. Ironically, we had different tastes in music, but we got close as we grew up."
  160. "Almost as if you guys were dating."
  161. >"Haha, very funny. We felt like sisters, more like it. When we grew up, my mom and dad thought the same and thought their daughter was becoming a lesbian."
  162. "Not just your parents, Octavia. Everyone in school thought you were one."
  163. >"Same can be said for your Norman and that Brad fellow."
  164. "Oh yeah, then Rainbow broke the chain off."
  165. >"Well, anyways, there were some fights between me and my parents, and you know how angry Germans can be."
  166. >Octavia then comes closer to Vinyl's bed and carresses Vinyl's cheek."
  167. >"Soon after, I couldn't take any more of their beliefs, and moved in with Vinyl."
  168. "What about Vinyl's parents?"
  169. >"Vinyl's mom and dad died when she was young. Her brother and grandmother are the only family she has left, and frankly, she's the only family I have left, and Lyra too."
  170. >>>"Well, that was a great flashback!, Octavia" Derpy said.
  171.
  172. >>"Ever since then, Tavi's experiencing the hard pains of abandonment. If she feels that someone will leave her, she goes nuts!" Lyra added.
  173. >"I do not!" she quickly denied.
  174. >>"Tavi, when I was hanging out with my new pals, you feel as if I'm leaving you for a guy with a beanie."
  175. >"Why? ARE YOU?"
  176. >>"See? Wait till she shows you how she'd react if someone flirted with Vinyl."
  177. "You guys really are in lesbians." you teased.
  178. >Octavia gets flustered.
  179. >"N-no. She's my sister from a different mother. I-idiot!"
  180. >You, Lyra and Derpy laugh at her defensive stance.
  181.
  182. *RING RING*
  183. >Lyra's phone is ringing. She gets off the seat and takes the call.
  184. >>"Hello?"
  185. >Lyra's smile slowly disappears.
  186. >Concern and panic shows on her face.
  187.
  188. >>"NORMAN?!?"
  189. "What?"
  190. >"Lyra, is that Norman?"
  191. >>>"Norman?"
  192.
  193. >Lyra listens to her phone carefully.
  194. >You, Octavia and Derpy lean nearby to try to listen.
  195. >Lyra nods up and down.
  196. >>"A-Alright, I'm coming over!"
  197. >"Lyra, what was that?
  198. >>"Sorry ladies, I got to go."
  199. "What's going on? Is Norman in danger?"
  200.
  201. >Lyra looks at us with a fake, worried smile.
  202. >>"N-nothing. I got to go."
  203. >She rushes out of the door.
  204. >You follow.
  205. "Lyra! What's going on with No-"
  206. >But when you walked out, she was gone. No sign of her anywhere.
  207. "What the hell?"
  208. >Octavia just followed through.
  209. >"Where's Lyra?"
  210. "She's gone."
  211. >"What? How can she be gone? The elevators here are always slow!"
  212. >Derpy comes out and points to her right.
  213. >>>"Look!"
  214. >An open window. The wind coming through it.
  215. >"Oh god, DID LYRA JUMP OUT OF THERE?"
  216. "I don't think she could fit in that. It's so small."
  217. >Octavia didn't hear you and ran to the small window.
  218. >"LYRA! LYRA!"
  219. >>>"Umm, Octavia..."
  220. >"oooh that Lyra..." she said in anger. "Why can't she just tell us everything? Why does she have to hide things from us?"
  221. >Derpy comes to her side to defend Lyra.
  222. >>>"Look, doesn't everybody have a secret? Aren't they entitled to keeping a special something to themselves?"
  223. "Remember, my Normie's part of this 'secret circle' too. He, Rainbow, Fluttershy, Twilight and Brad are hiding something and not telling us!"
  224.
  225. >"That's it. No more elusive games like the picnic. Now we take action and FOLLOW LYRA to where they and Norman are meeting!" Octavia says in a propaganda-like way.
  226. >I could almost see a German flag behind her as she said that.
  227.
  228. >>>"Are you sure it's alright for her to intrude on her privacy? I mean, this is her life after all."
  229. >"Look, I don't know if she's just hiding something minor, or she's pregnant with Norman's baby, or maybe even part of a bigger conspiracy! Lyra's my second best pal, and I won't let her down if she's in trouble."
  230. >>>"How could you even know if she's in trouble?"
  231. >Octavia stayed quiet for a moment.
  232.
  233. >The intensity of her aura reaches the spine. It's like looking at the eyes of a hunter.
  234. >"Derpy, did Lyra tell you anything?"
  235. >>>"M-me? No!"
  236.
  237. >"Tell us exactly how you and Lyra became friends. I don't recall you being a musician." she said like an angry police
  238. >>>"W-well, I just found her sad one day and I comforted her. Soon she began liking my comic books and we shared a h-hobby together."
  239. >Octavia looked at Derpy's eyes.
  240. >She looked at them with intensity. My guess is she's trying to see if Derpy's lying.
  241. >With unstable eyeballs like that, it's hard to tell.
  242. >Finally, Octavia backs off and clears off her suspicions.
  243.
  244. >"Alright, first thing's first, we visit Norman's home. Surely he must be there!"
  245. "Octavia, Norman got...Normanapped by some woman in a bike."
  246. >"I know. Maybe his mom knows something about that woman."
  247. "I don't know about this. Three young women going to his house asking for Norman?"
  248. >"What she doesn't know *knuckle cracking* won't hurt her."
  249. >>>"Wait, are going to beat up Norman?" Derpy asked.
  250. "No, that's just an expression...r-right Octavia?"
  251. >Octavia's already by the elevator with a dark vengeance filled aura floating around her.
  252.
  253. >>>"Things were less complicated back at Equestria..."
  254.
  255. 10 MINUTES LATER, THE NORMAL RESIDENCE
  256.
  257. >We come knocking to Norman's door. As expected, Norman's mother answers the door.
  258. >>"Yes? Can I help you ladies?"
  259. "Hi Ms. Normal. Remember me?"
  260. >>"Oh yes, that girl Norman has as a wallpaper for his laptop."
  261. "Err...yes well, we're looking for Norman, is he here?"
  262. >>"Now why on earth would three young women come to this home and ask for a single young man like Norman?"
  263. "Oh Ms. Normal, you know it's not what it looks like."
  264. >>"Hahah, I know, I'm only joking. Why don't you three come in?"
  265. >"Actually Mrs. Norman's mom, we're here to know if you know where Norman is."
  266. >>"Well, Norman doesn't really tell us where he's going all the time. We'd assume he'd be dating one of his friends every day of the week."
  267. >"What? Norman's ALWAYS missing everyday?"
  268. >>"Nothing we'd worry too much. Norman's a strong boy, and my husband's an ex-cop. If he runs into trouble, he knows what to do. His old man thought him everything."
  269. "well, thanks for  your time, Mrs. Normal."
  270. >"O-One last thing Mrs. Norman's mom, do you know a girl with white-purple hair riding a motorcycle hanging out with Norman?"
  271. >>"I don't seem to recall Norman ever mentioning someone like that. Why?"
  272. "Well, you see, she seems to know Norman, and basically stole him from our group picnic after ...ruining my dress"
  273. >>"Hmm, well, nothing comes to mind. I'll ask my husband if he knows about this woman." she said.
  274. >>>"Thanks Mrs. Norman's mom!"
  275.
  276. >You all walk away from the door. Octavia walks faster to the sidewalk.
  277. "Hey, wait up!"
  278. >>>"Where to next, Octavia?"
  279. >"We're going to Lyra's house!"
  280.
  281.
  282. Be Lyra
  283. Near the Canterlot Train Station
  284.
  285. >Goddammit Norman, what did you do now?
  286. >You run towards the alleyway near the train station.
  287. "Psst. Norman, you in here?"
  288. >Just then, a hobo emerges from behind the dumpster.
  289. "Whoa, back off, pal!"
  290. >"Lyra, it's me! Norman!"
  291. >The hobo takes off its helmet and mask to reveal his face. It's Norman.
  292. "Norman? Jeez, you look like shit. What's with the original super-suit?"
  293. >"It's a long story. Listen, I need your help."
  294. "You told me on the phone. You said Nolan's guard had you oversee a drug deal."
  295. >"It's not a drug deal! It's an inventory transfer."
  296. "Whatever. I don't even know why I'm helping you. I told myself I'm not getting involved with your antics, and where the hell is Vinyl's necklace?"
  297. >"First of all,  you're part of this Nolan thing, along with Brad. You know how these guys murder? THEY DON'T TWITCH! They're crazy!"
  298. "You saw them kill someone?"
  299. >"Just Gilda with a hybrid cheetah guy."
  300. "What?"
  301. >"Long story. Second, the necklace is at my place. I'm giving it to Purple later so she could study it for a cure."
  302. "For how long?"
  303. >"I don't know...3 months or so"
  304. "Crap."
  305. >"Look, that's not the problem. I need a place to stay...WITH THIS!"
  306. >Norman opens the dumpster to reveal a woman's body. It's Nolan's guard, Gilda.
  307.
  308. "Lauren Faust...IS SHE DEAD?"
  309. >"No! She's knocked out unconscious. I couldn't wake her up!"
  310. "Can't you bring her to your home?"
  311. >"Can't. My dad's a cop."
  312. "Your dad's a COP?"
  313. >"Apparently she and my dad had a long history with each other. SHE NEARLY KILLED MY DAD."
  314. "Damn. That's some cop-drama piece right there. What about Fluttershy's home?"
  315. >"She's not home. She's buying science equipment for Purple with Brad."
  316. "What about Nolan?"
  317. >"Her phone's broken. I don't have his number."
  318. >You walk around in circles, thinking of another location to hide an unconscious body."
  319. >"Is your house available?"
  320. >Your mom's at work, but you don't really want to turn your house into a shelter for a criminal.
  321. "Ugh...fine. We store her at my house for the time being."
  322. >"Thanks, Lyra."
  323.
  324. >You punch him in the eye.
  325. >"ACK. HEY!"
  326. "Screw you, Norman. Once Twilight finishes the cure, we are never speaking to each other again. ARE WE CLEAR?"
  327. >"No argument there. Jeez, my eye."
  328. >Norman then grabs you by the waist while he holds Nolan's guard by the other.
  329. >"Hang on."
  330. >And then he jumps off the alley with you and Gilda.
  331.
  332. Be Derpy
  333. Walking to Lyra's house with Octavia and Rarity
  334.
  335. >Darnit, these guys won't stop until they find Norman and Lyra.
  336. >What's up with these two?
  337. >Can't even say goodbye, otherwise they'd follow me, and I might accidentally lead them to Lyra's secret.
  338. >Arrghh.
  339.
  340. >"We're here." Octavia said.
  341. >>"Look over there!"
  342. >Rarity points to a bloody jacket by the lawn.
  343. >"Ugh, doesn't she clean this?"
  344. >You recognize the jacket. It's Lyra's suit when she saved you in that baker's convention.
  345.
  346. >Rarity knocks on the door.
  347. >...
  348. >>"I don't think anyone is home."
  349. >"Please. Allow me."
  350. >Octavia grabs a ring of keys from her pocket.
  351. "That's a lot of keys."
  352. >"I always keep spares of my friends' house keys."
  353. >>"Err... that's... that's creepy."
  354. >"Well, if they disappear, I always know when to visit their homes...which is anytime."
  355. *CLICK CLOCK*
  356. >"It's unlocked, guys."
  357.
  358. >You all go inside. No one's in.
  359. >"Come on, let's check her room."
  360. >>"Whoa, whoa, Octavia. Isn't that too extreme? We're breaking and entering!"
  361. >"Relax, Rarity. Lyra wouldn't mind. Besides, what if we go up there and find her and Norman naked under the bed sheets.
  362. "O-Oh my~"
  363. >The thought of that made you fluster. Rarity on the other hand looks red with jealousy.
  364. >>"Alright, LETS GO!"
  365. >Rarity rushes upstairs. You and Octavia follow.
  366. >Rarity opens the door. It's empty and dirty.
  367. >>"Phew!"
  368. >"Ugh, her room's as bad as her jacket."
  369. "Wait...what are we doing here again?"
  370. >"We're here to find something that ties Norman and Lyra."
  371. "But what if they were dating? What then?"
  372. >"If they were dating, I will keep a VERY close eye on Norman, making sure he doesn't get my good friend pregnant."
  373. >>"I'll just forever remind Norman that there's no secret that I can't unlock, especially if it involves my friends too."
  374. "You guys are acting like parents."
  375. >They give you *that* look.
  376. "Alright, carry on with...what you're planning.
  377.
  378. >I should warn Lyra about this.
  379.
  380. *creaaaak*
  381. >"What was that?"
  382. >>"Sounds like the front door!"
  383. "Is that her mom?"
  384. >"Shh. Let's sneak by the staircase."
  385. >You, Rarity and Octavia crawl by the staircase. Two voices can be heard.
  386.
  387. >>>"Take your coat off. You look like shit."
  388. >>>>"I heard you the first time."
  389.
  390. >"Ach mein gott. IT'S LYRA!" she whispers.
  391. >>"And that sounds like my Norman!" Rarity adds.
  392. >"Is Lyra asking Norman to take off his clothes? WHAT'S HAPPENING?"
  393. "I don't know. We're just eaves dropping. If we come down, she might see and hear us!"
  394.
  395. >>>"Jeez, sleepy as ever. I could just move her like a ragdoll."
  396. >>>>"Try shaking her up and down."
  397.
  398. >"What the hell?"
  399. >>"They're obviously going to do it!"
  400. "Come on, guys. Don't let your dirty minds invade you."
  401.
  402. >>>>"Lyra, look at it. It's HUGE!"
  403. >>>"How do you hide something that BIG?"
  404.
  405. >Oh boy, here we go.
  406. >"Thats it, I'M COMING DOWN!"
  407. >>"Me too!"
  408.
  409. >Octavia comes down the stairs with Rarity.
  410. >"A-HAH!" Octavia yells while pointing.
  411. >>"Ahh...Norman!?" Rarity says.
  412. >You come down to see Norman and Lyra, with some woman's body by the couch.
  413. >Norman's shirtless, holding a huge knife, presumably from the girl by the couch.
  414. >>"Err..."
  415.
  416. >>>"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU ALL DOING IN MY HOUSE?"
  417.
