- Abnormal Norman #2
- __________________
- >Day Baterang
- >Be Norman
- >Woke up from your humble slumber
- >Look outside the window
- >it's Monday again. The worst day of any person's week
- >But wait, you remember, you found a ring yesterday that gave you superpowers
- >You put it on your wrist and ran downstairs to breakfast
- >"You seem pretty energetic this morning Norman" mother said while coating her toast with butter
- >"Suspiciously too energetic...did you find yourself a girlfriend?"father inquired
- >"Nah, I guess it's just one of those days"
- >You ate your toast and eggs faster than Applejack could say apple and head out
- >Enter school, go through the usual routine. On the right, you'll meet the first group who would casually yell "HEY RACIST" as if it was a special good morning
- >Walk few meters more and you'd pass by Aryan Beauty, who's busy giving advice to her other classmates
- >Finally reaching your locker, you count to 8 until Sunset Shimmers gives you the daily taunting
- >"Well if it isn't the racist"she said
- >You shrug her off, knowing that you have greater power than anyone in this school
- >"Hey, are you even listening to me?"
- >Ignorance maximized. Ears have shut down.
- >You get your books, your stuff and head down the hallway
- >NORMAN!
- >You look to your right, seeing Brad and Twilight coming to you
- >"Hey guys"
- >"Norman, did you think about what I said last night?"
- >"Well...I...I'm still thinking about it. You haven't told anyone about this, right?"
- >"OF COURSE DUDE. Every superhero has a secret identity"
- >Brad's a bit more cooperative with his idea. Surprisingly.
- >"Well, actually...I told Rainbow Dash about this" Purple said in a guilty-face"
- >"Look, I don't want anyone else knowing about this ring, alright? If people found out about this, there could be a power strugle, or even blackmail!"
- >"Well,I know the ring doesn't work with everyone" Purple said, frowning" When I put put the ring on, I felt nothing. It did nothing. Even Fluttershy tried it"
- >Guess that explains why Brad didn't try to coax me into giving him the ring.
- >"So anyway, about Rainbowdash..."
- >If you're going through with this, you're going to need some training! Of course it was easier back at Equestria when me and the gang went Mysterious Mare Do-well. We had magic and wings"
- >You look at her with disbelief, and proceeded to question both of them
- >"Why are you guys so eager about this whole superhero shinanigan?"
- >"Dude, it's an AWESOME idea, plus I could be your sidekick!"
- >"Like Brad the Boy Wonder?"you joked
- >"YEAHUH. THAT'S A GREAT IDEA"
- >You chuckled at him for taking your mocking statement seriously
- >"And what about you Purple? You're not the comic book action type that's for sure. What could you gain from all this?"
- >Purple's face turned serious, saying"That thing has magic. If we could find it's true potential, maybe I could find the stolen crown!"
- >"After all, of all the things in this world, that things the closest thing I could find as magic. Maybe aside from Pinkie's bombastic personality"
- >Again, you look at her with confusion, but decided to shrug it off like always.
- >"Remember, 4:00 sharp at the gym!"she said
- >"Oh man this is going to be sweet! We're training a real superhero!" Brad whispered excitedly.
- >Norman waves goodbye, going to his next class, when he notices a peculiar shadow by the door. It leaves before he could reach it.
- >Am I being watched? Eh, must be my mind playing tricks
- >But you can't shake the feel that someone's watching you with a cold gaze.
- >Suddenly an arrow bursts from the window of the school, hitting a locker behind you
- >OH SHIT, I KNEW IT
- >Is it happening? Am I being attacked by some quasi government who found oout about me? Am I finally gonna meet my first arch nemisis?
- >fuck, what am I thinking. I better not let this get by my head.
- >You calm yourself, looking outside the broken window, to see the archery team waving at you
- >You see a green-mint girl yelling sorry
- >Damn well that got my hopes up.
- >the school bell rings , and you rush to class
- Be Lyra
- >oh for god's sake, you just earned yourself a new bill to pay for
- >and here I thought only baseball players get these window bills
- >you're Lyra, one of the more average archers in the school.
- >You're more into harps, but the facination for archery caught to you so you turned your harp into a convertible bow
- >"Well, you seem to be off track this morning, Lyra."
- >You turn to see Octavia, seemingly worried about your blunder
- >"Oh, hey Tavi."
- >"Is something bothering you?"
- >"Well, it's kinda weird. You see, I had this dream and it's been keeping me awake all night.
- >"What is it about?"she asked
- >I...I don't really remember. Maybe it's nothing.
- >"You should go to the nurse's office for some asperin should you have a headache or something similar."
- >"Alright, thanks Tavi."
- >As you walk off to the nurse's office, Octavia yells at you "Try to remember your dream!"
- >"I will!" you yelled back with a wave
- Nurse's office
- >Nurse Redheart gives you some water and interrogates you on your morning
- >"What brings you here, sweetie?"
- >"I..I'm not so sure myself. I'm not feeling too well this mor-unf!
- >Nurse plugs your
mouth
with a
thermometer
and puts her palm on your
forehead
- >"Well, you're not feeling hot. Have you experience migraine like symptoms?"
- >You spit out the thermometer and told her that you're just feeling abit dizzy, and sleepy.
- >"It started with this dream I can't remember. All night I'm just so tired, but my eyes won't shut, not after that dream.
- >"Hmm, maybe you just nee--
- >her voice gets lower by the second, almost as if you're going deaf
- >"I'm sorry, can you repeat that?"
- >She seemingly ignores you. You can't hear a thing, and your eyes start to blur
- >Somethings wrong. You stand up but your head suddenly get's extremely dizzy.
- >Shit, I'm slipping.
- >You fall on a boy wearing a beanie and orange jacket
- >His right hand starts to glow. Combined with the blur and dizziness it causes you to jump back in fear
- >You look back, no one's there. Only darkness and a few tiles from the floor.
- >You look back again and the boy is gone, but the bright light remains.
- >The glowing light floats to your forehead, as if to reach out and touch you.
- >At half, you expected it to say "HEY, LISTEN", and the other to bring you some answers.
- >It flies torwards the abyss
- >You want to follow it, but you're standing on a floating floor missing it's tiles
- >Looking around, there;s nothing but darkness and some floating chairs and beds
- >You look at the light, took a deep breath and followed it while avoiding the missing tiles of the floating floor
- >As you come closer torwards it, it shines back to an empty road
- >You see the same boy, orange jacket, beanie and all
- >He runs in fright while looking at the sky.
- >A meteor comes crashing down near him, and you see him shivering in fear and awe.
- >You see another boy, whom you recognize. Brad
- >The both talk, but you can't hear them at all
- >What's going on?
- >Suddenly, you see police lights at the distance.
- >The two boys run off
- >The flash of light shifts to your left, showing the meteor under the watchful eye of your town's local scientists
- >Again, you can't hear anything they're saying, but you notice a seperate rock rolling off the scientist's table
- >It falls to a bucket of water
- >The light, again, shifts to your right, showing the janitor dumping the bucket onto the sea
- >The rock floats for a few moments before sinking and going with the flow of the wave
- >The light shifts to your back , showing the rock landing on a beach nearby.
- >A child picks it up, continues to play with it until he got bored and threw it on the street.
- >Coincidentally, it landed on the roof of the truck, where it continued to be carried until it lost it's balance and landed and rolled under a dumpster.
- >You're confused by all this until you saw a mysterious yet familiar figure lurking about.
- >She seems to be looking by something, and her face emerges from the shadow
- >Before you could fully recognize the woman, a flock of birds fly torwards you from the image of the light.
- >You wake up, sweating and trembling. You could hear "Fur Elise" being played from the radio of the nurse, which in turn calms your mind for a few moments.
- >"Ahh good, you woke up! I was worried about you. " Nurse Redheart said in relief
- >"guuahh" you said back
- >"You've been out for 8 hours straight!"
- >"Huzumawha?"you replied in confusion
- >"Yes. You passed out the moment you spit out the thermometer. Frankly I thought the thermometer has given you Mercury poisoning!" she joked.
- >You stare at the door, pondering on your dream. What was it about? Who was that woman, and what about that rock?
- >The nurse kept on talking about signing some papers for your teachers and to take some pills
- >You ignore her and rushed outside the room and ran outside.
- >Your mind is left in shambles, but one thing's for sure; Whatever is under that bin is the only way to release yourself from a sleepless night
- Be Norman
- >School football track
- >"ONE TWO THREE PUSH IT NORMAN!"
- >Good gods, Rainbow's pushing you to the limit
- >"Rainbro, don't you think 609 pushups is enough for the day
- >"Hey, I'm not gonna let my Norman get killed just because he didn't get his daily excercise!"
- >Gee, that sounds swell
- >"Besides Norman, if my theories are correct, this ring doubles your body's strength, meaning the fitter you are, the stronger you get!"
- >Oh Joy
- >Rainbro puts her whistle beside your ear and lets out a loud huff
- >"GAH. WHAT THE HELL"
- >"Alright, now it's time for some jacks"
- >"Oh *huff* god *cough*
- >As you jump for Purple's scientific findings, you look up to see that archer girl that nearly got your head off running
- >She seems to be worried, in a hurry, but you pay no more attention to her
- >it's probably nothing to worry about
- >"NORMAN, YOU'RE SLIPPING" Rainbro yells
- >"crap..."
- Be Lyra
- >You run as fast as you can, all the way to the dumpster
- >Tis sunset, and you hope to reach the dumpster before nightfall upon you
- >Your mind is split into two factions, one hoping that the dream was a dream, and the other that it was a prophecy, or a sign.
- >You run torwards the dumpster, staring at it like it's the bane of your existance.
- >You stop for a moment
- >"This is a stupid idea" you tell yourself
- >But you're here, and leaving now would mean that you just wasted your time.
- >The light in the sky begins to turn blue, signifying that nightfall will come soon
- >You slowly walk torwards it
- >You bend over, not knowing what to expect.
- >Under the darkness, your eyes twitch in all directions
- >Something jumps out
- >You scream as the unknown assailant bites your nose
- >Grabbing the small assailant, you felt it and correctly guessed it was a big city rat.
- >You throw it in disgust.
- >Bending over again, you reach under the bin, hoping to find something less...organic
- >You grab hold of something. It's a rock. The vision was true
- >Examining the rock, you see a small chain, almost as thin as those small bracelets you buy for cheap
- >Suddenly a flash light shines your back.
- >Must be a concerned citizen who heard your scream
- >You run like hell, fleeing from the scene until you bump at another person
- >"Lyra?"
- >It's Octavia. She's holding the rock you dropped
- >You panic, taking the rock from her hands and kept on running
- >"Lyra, wait!"
- >You ignore her and ran back to your home.
- >it's 9:00 PM. You're sweating like hell. It's been a weird day.
- >"Honey? Are you okay?" your mother asked from behind your bedroom door
- >"I got a call from the school's nurse's office. She said -
- >You ignore her, staying silent while looking at the rock you just got from under the dumpster
- >You can feel something different as you held it on your hand
- >Getting a hammer from the closet, you pound on the rock hard
- >As you feel it breaking, your smashing intensifies
- >"Lyra, I'm coming through the door!"your mother yells trying to unlock your room
- >At last, you break the rock into bits and pieces, uncovering inside it a small artifact.
- >Your eyes glisten as you behold upon this mysterious item. It looks like a locket with a chain. A necklace perhaps?
- >You instictively put it on,and felt an aura changing your body
- >A loud sonic wave boomed from the necklace
- >"Lyra, wha-"
- > and then there was silence.
