5. Be Norman
6. >The storm intensifies every second you stand outside in the open
7. >The large man readjusts his elbow, making a crack
8. >Did he just...heal his elbow by cracking it?
9. >You look at the man with an angry gaze, and he does so with you as well
10. >The man charges right at you
11. >You dodge in the nick of time. He hits the wall behind you
12. >Immediately, he turns around and punches you in the face
13. >You spin around in recoil
14. >A crowbar falls from the window you broke in the second floor
15. >As you spin, you managed to grab the crowbar and swung it in the direction of the large man
16. >You miss due to the distance and because your vision spinning
17. >The big man laughs as he grabs your crowbar and jabs it on your stomach
18. >You fall to the ground, kneeling and feeling your stomach pain
19. >"Hehe, yeah" the big man whispered to himself
20. >This is it. The opportunity you've been waiting for
21. >You clench your fist in rage and pain, secretly charging up
22. >The man raises his fist to his side, preparing to give out a knock-out punch
23. >You quickly looked up and swung your half-charged fist
24. >The man swung his fist at the same time, both fists hitting each other in an intense shockwave
25. >The fist-bump was powerful in terms of area effect as the nearby windows cracked
26. >The huge man recoils a bit, taking a step back. You on the other hand, got a surge of energy
27. >Your heart beats faster, louder than before
28. >Your fist glows in light, your eyes slightly lighting up in yellow
29. >The ring and the adrenaline makes your body grows 10% larger and fitter. Your grown muscles slightly makes a tear the costume
30. >The man rushes in to deliver a punch
31. >You manage to block his huge hand with your fist
32. >As you maintain hold of it, you elbowed his wrist without mercy
33. >Your advanced strength broke his wrist. You let go of the fist and punched his chest
34. >The power surging through your body is filling up, fast
35. >You smirk, almost like a psychopathic smile, silently chuckling
36. >The power's getting over your head, but you know you can't fight without the ring
37. >The man takes the small opportunity to punch you in  the face
38. >Your head barely recoils, you felt little of that
39. >Oh god, is this the ring's full potential?
40. >You take his arm and pulled it to deliver a knee kick
41. >The man's nose bled from it
42. >Your speed grows faster. You punch him three times in the face
43. >He barely flinches but you see the pain from his eyes
44. >Feeling cocky, you ran up to the wall and jumped from it to deliver a midair punch
45. >The man reacted quickly and moved out of the way
46. >You miss, but you landed on the crowbar he disarmed from you
47. >You then took it and swung it across his face
48. >He was stunned, swinging his arms in a confused and dizzy manner
49. >As the adrenaline goes by, you feel yourself slowly losing control of your body
50. >You hold the crowbar by its body in reverse, in a way like you're about to stab someone
51. >No, this isn't right
52. >shit, fight it!
53. >You can't kill someone, and sure as hell you ain't gonna lose control over your body
54. >You slowly froze, calming down and letting go of the crowbar
55. >Your muscles have yet to revert, which is good news
56. >The man is still stunned. You move forward to deliver a half-charged punch
57. >The man coughed blood
58. >You punched him for a second time, this time a hook right through his right cheek
59. >THIS IS IT
60. >Finally, you deliver a finishing blow, a powerful uppercut
61. >The blow broke his jaw and some of his teeth sprung from his mouth
62. >The whole thing feels like it's in slow motion, especially with the rain coming down
63. >The man finally stumbles to the ground, unconscious and bloody
64. >You pant, breathing and coughing
65. >The light from the ring, as well as your eyes disappear, your muscles revert back to what they were a few minutes ago
66. >You sat down on the ground for a moment, catching your breath
67. >You look up to the window, wondering what's transpiring in there
68.
69. Split Segment, 4:45
70. Brothers calls for backup
71. Be Brad
72. >Shit, Norman was awesome
73. >He just took that guy downtown
74. >The doors open to more guards, now armed with batons and crowbars their guns holstered
75. >ALRIGHT, TIME TO GET MY GROOVE ON
76. >Lyra looks at Brad, giving a subtle sigh
77. >You jump at the nearest guard, screeching like a monkey
78. >OOH OOH OOH AAAAAHHH, MONKEY STYLE
79. >You managed to disarm the guy
80. >"LYRA CATCH!"
81. >Lyra wasn't paying attention and it flew all the way to the window
82. >Brad then realized he was outnumbered five to one
83. >"L-LYRA, need a lit- OOF"
84. >Lyra just stared, barely moving a finger to help
85. >"I'm guessing you're not really in with these guys, are you?" One of the brothers casually asked
86. >You're just beating up and getting beaten up in the background.
87. >"I'm...just tagging along, didn't think they would go this far" Lyra answered back
88. >"MY LEG" you scream as your knee hits a random table
89. >Lyra just shakes her head in disapproval to Brad's mediocre fighting
90. >You dodge and you jump, using all your efforts to avoid getting beaten up onto submission
91. >"So, you mind help take care of this guy for us?"
92. >"PREPARE, FOOL, FOR THE FIST OF THE KUROSTAR"
93. >Lyra walked a bit to the window, looking at how Norman's doing
94. >Norman's fighting the big guy, bloodied and all
95. >Lyra looks at Norman with a bit of pity. He's doing all this just to bring back the produce to those who have been wronged
96. >He's doing something that no one else in this city has done; taking matters into their own hands
97. >Now, Lyra wonders if she had done anything lately that has made a difference in life
98. >"Norman and Brad risked their lives at that convenience store and managed to save my mother that day" Lyra thought to herself
99. >She feels guilt rising through her heart. She knows what to do.
100. >(Back to Brad)
101. >One guard down, four to go
102. >I really wish I had superpowers
103. >Suddenly, one of the brothers joins in and beats Brad's knee with his cane
104. >"GRAAH...F-"Brad says, letting out some spit
105. >"You're an idiot, child" the brother said beating you up some more with his cane
106. >"Did you really think you and your friend could possibly beat us up and bring happiness back to those farmers?"
107. >The brother continued to slap  you with his cane as you fall on your knees
108. >The brother holds your chin, saying "This isn't a goddamn movie, kid. This is real life"
109. >As the brother raises his
dongers
cane, Lyra shoots it with an arrow
110. >The arrow hits the hand and pins the brother on the wall
111. >Lyra readies another arrow, with one thing in her mind
112. >"I won't let both your sacrifices be in vain today"
113. >Brad looks with a smile, trying to get back up on her feet
114. >Lyra raises her bow, and her eyes slowly light up in green
115. >Her nose bleeds, some blood leaks from her mouth to her lips
116. >What's going on? What's happening
117. >Suddenly, you felt a lag in the matrix
118. >Whoa, what the hell?
119. >You look back at Lyra. Jolts of electricity surround her body, and then she moves in lightning speed
120. >She dashes at the first guard, punching him in the guts
121. >Her speed amplifies the damage she does with her fist
122. >After the first guy, Lyra dashes quickly to the next, and the next
123. >"Wow, it's like watching Faora" you thought to yourself
124. >Lyra stops before she could hit the last guard. She's reverted back to normal speed
125. >Lyra gives out a roundhouse kick, but her leg has now been grabbed by the guard
126. >You gotta help out
127. >You take a vase nearby and smashed it on the guard's head
128. >Lyra then hits the guard with the tip of her bow
129. >5 guards down, 2 brothers to go
130. >The two brothers grab their canes, standing by the broken window back to back
131. >"Such a shame child, you seemed smarter than those two, but it seems that you come from the same basket" the brother says while tipping his hat
132. >A huge grunt is heard, coming from the back door area
133. >"But now it seems..."
134. >"...it's up to us to teach you all a lesson"
135. >You and Lyra ready your battle stance once more
136. >Lyra wipes the blood from her face as the grunting on the back door area intensifies
137. >The two brothers ignore the grunting, and prepares to move forward with their canes
138. >"GRAAAAAH"
139. >One of the brothers looks behind, wondering where that grunting noise is coming from
140. >"OH DEAR LO-"
141. >A huge body flies right through the already broken window and lands on top of the brothers
142. >"HNNNGGUAAAAAAH"  Flim yelled
143. >"THIS IS...HEAVY..AAAH" Flam complained
144. >You and Lyra just look in confusion as you see the 7 foot huge man crushing the two brothers underneath it's unconscious body
145. >Norman then climbs back, looks at the body, and says "whoa"
146. >You run to Norman, choking him by hugging him through the stomach
147. >"NORMAN YOU'RE ALIVE, AND IN ONE PEACE"
148. >"BRAD...GA-HK...YOU'RE CHOKING ME"
149. >Lyra just lets out a laugh
150. >You, Norman and Lyra look at the room, then back at the twin brothers
151. >"Well now what?" you asked
152. >Norman went around the unconscious guards, pocketing them
153. >He takes out some keys and shows it
154. >"Here's the plan, they probably got vans since they had to have something that brought the stuff here.We take their vans, fill it with everything they stole, then, we take it to the farmers market" Norman whispered
155. >"But isn't it closed today because of...them?" Lyra said, pointing at the brothers
156. >"The market manager's probably in there, trying to make due"
157. >"And if they aren't?"
158. >"We take all of these and bring them to Applehat's for safe keeping"
159. >"Do they even have a large freezer?"
160. >Norman backed out, scratching his head
161. >Lyra gave him an annoyed look, saying "You didn't think this one out, did you?"
162. >You butt in, siding with Norman
163. >"Look, we go with Norman's plan first. We'll think of something later"
164. >Lyra nodded, mostly because she just wants to get this over with
165. >"So what about them?" you said, looking at the two brothers trying to break squirm out off the unconscious monster of a man
166. >Norman rushes in, pulls one of the brothers, and said in an intimidating voice
167. >"LISTEN UP AND LISTEN GOOD.  YOU TRY STEALING AGAIN, AND I'LL DROP YOU OFF IN GUANTANAMO BAY. YOU HEAR ME?"
168. >The brother, losing his confidence, complied
169. >"ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT, JUST DON'T TAKE MY MUSTACHE AWAY"
170. >Norman then proceeded to punch his lights out as the other brother watched on
171. >The brother tries to scare Norman, saying "We gots cameras all over this place. The police will find you, and your sorry pals and lock you up good"
172. >Lyra answers the brother in one scary voice
173. >"Go ahead. Tell them a bunch of kids beat up your gang and guards. Tell them they stole a shitload of produce you don't even have a receipt for"
174. >Lyra moves closer, her eyes lighting up green again
175. >The brother sweats, fearing the girl
176. >"You guys...you guys aren't normal" he said
177. >Lyra moves her head closer, staring into the brothers eyes
178. >"We Aren't Normal..." She said in a Batman like voice
179. >"...but you are. You are as fragile as the rest"
180. >Lyra left an impression on the brother
181. >"Come on, let's get moving" you tell Norman and Lyra
182.
183. 20 minutes later
184.
185. Be Norman
186. Unloading the last of the shipment
187. >Right, Can't believe we fit them in all in two vans
188. >Then again they are neatly packed, plus we tied some boxes up the vans' roof.
189. >Brad's smiling, telling you how exciting and terrifying the whole experience is
190. >"Oh man, this day...I will never forget this day"
191. >"Yeah man, your first day and you're already unmasked"
192. >Brad's optimism faded a bit, but after he put on his mask again he smiles again
193. >Lyra's sitting in the van, sleeping
194. >Yeah, we better move on. It's been a long day
195. >You and Brad start up the two vans and drove off to the market
196. 30 minutes later
197. >You both arrive, but the market's closed
198. >Brad gets off his vehicle to talk to you
199. >"Well, it's closed. Now what?"
200. >"Check if you can find anyone inside"
201. >Brad hurries off to check. You just sit inside, relaxing.
202. >You look to your right to check up on sleeping Lyra. Turns out she's awake and staring at you like an unimpressed creepy doll
203. >"Jesus Christ, you almost gave me a heart attack" you tell her
204. >Lyra just stares at your eyes for a moment, and stares down at your fist and mumbles
205. >"Why don't I just kill you and take the ring?"
206. >You're startled by her statement.
207. >"Lyra, what the hell?"
208. >Lyra shook her head in confusion, and proceeds to apologize
209. >"Sorry, waking up from sleep makes me a bit edgy for an hour or so"
210. >You breathe a sigh of relief. Lyra asks you a question
211. >"So...you're giving up on this superhero bullshit, right?"
212. >You stay silent, a bit neutral on what happened the whole day
213. >"You know what, nevermind. I'll probably have another vision about you in the middle of the road"
214. >You can see the eyebugs on her face. She's tired. You feel sorry for her
215. >"Listen Lyra...about the locket..."
216. >"Norman, I know. It's not your fault."
217. >"Listen, I'm gonna make this right. My friend Purple's an expert on the weird and magical. I'm sure she can find a cure for these curses that we have"
218. >"Purple? She was pretty weird the day she appeared in school"
219. >"Yeah, well, I've been branded a racist the day I appeared. It's just first impressions. She's actually pretty sane"
220. >You and Lyra shared some laughs
221. >"You know Norman? You're alright, as a friend and a hero."
222. >Brad finally comes back with the market manager
223. >"WE GOT EVERYTHING THEY STOLE" Brad told the manager
224. >The manager opened Brad's van to see a crop full of frozen produce
225. >"Well I'll be damned" the manager said, shedding a tear
226. >"A-and you're just giving everything here?"
227. >"Yep" Brad said. "Just doing what a superhero does for his citizens"
228. >The manager chuckles, scratching his head
229. >For half an hour, you and Brad unload all the produce in the market while the manager calls it's clients about the produce returning
230. >"It's a miracle! Some kids in costumes..." the manager says, talking to the clients
231. >You, Brad and Lyra then head out, feeling good
232. >After driving and abandoning the vans by the town dump, Brad suddenly asks what will they do next
233. >"Norman! Today was definitely the best day of my whole life. What are we gonna do next?"
234. >"Easy Brad. You don't want to overwork yourself"
235. >Lyra then tugs Norman's arm
236. >"You better make a last will, Norm. I'm still serious about looting you if you're dead from this nonsense"
237. >"Yeah, yeah"
238. >"Look, I'll talk to you guys tomorrow. I'm tired"
239. >Lyra bids farewell and departs
240. >You just look up to the starry sky, thanking the heavens that you're still alive
241. >"You know what, bro? We should get some celebratory pizza and celebrate with the gang for 'mission success'!
242. >"Brad, no one knows we're doing this. I told Twilight I'd never wear this thing and go on a crime stopping spree"
243. >Brad simply nods in disappointment
244. >Your phone rings. Applehat's calling you
245. >"NORMAN, YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE IT! OUR MARKET MANAGER CALLED. HE SAID HE GOT BACK ALL MY FAMILY'S APPLES!"
246. >"Wow, Applehat, that's great! We should celebrate"
247. >You look at Brad
248. >"Guess we're getting a celebratory pizza after all"
249. >"BRADICAL!"
250. >"Just don't tell the girls where we got these scars and bruises"
251. >Brad smiles with glee as he runs to the nearest Pizza hut
252. >You just briskly walk, admiring the day
253. >You ponder on tomorrow, asking yourself if you'd be willing to risk your neck to lower crime rates
254. >"Maybe another day of vigilantism won't hurt..."
255. End of Chapter 10
