- The Walking Dead and Talking Horses
- Chapter 1: Um...
- (This takes place in the game version of The Walking Dead. In my story, everyone is alive and there, including characters from later chapters of the game [like Ben, Mark, and Chuck]. Hope you enjoy this.)
- >"Hey Lee, we got a walker over there" Kenny nudged Lee on his shoulder. Lee looked over and saw the walker. Lee and Kenny were hiding behind a couple boxes, scouting out the area for the others. "Should we shoot it, or let it be?"
- >"Nah, it would attract too much attention. If we can get close enough, I can kill it with this pick." Lee said as he pulled out a pickaxe. Kenny agreed to this idea and followed behind Lee as he sneaked up behind the zombie. Lee got behind the zombie, and raised his pick. He brought it down with a great swing, embedding it in the zombie's skull, killing it.
- >"Good job Lee. I can see the Pharmacy down the street. Want me to tell the others it's safe?" Kenny suggested. Lee nodded, and Kenny went off to inform the group that the coast was clear. It had been a while since they had searched the pharmacy. They picked up a few people along the way, so they had a large group. Kenny came back with everyone following close behind him. Among all of them, a little curly-haired girl ran up to Lee and hugged him.
- >"You're okay!" She said as she hugged him.
- >"Yes, I am. You should know that I know how to defend myself." He said as he returned the hug.
- >"I know, I was just worried, that's all."
- >"Hey guys! Something happened at the pharmacy!" Yelled out Ben, the young college boy of the group, "It looks like something is smoking behind it!" The group ran over to where he was pointing to find helicopter that crashed into the side of the pharmacy. The helicopter didn't look normal. It had weird blue tanks of who-knows-what in the cargo area. The had a weird glow surrounding them.
- >"Looks like the government was transporting something." Said Glenn. "It seems to be some kind of flammable fluid, no idea what it's used for."
- >"Well, I think we shouldn't touch it. It seems too dangerous." Suggested Carly, "We have no idea what those things do, and I don't want to find out." Everyone followed Carley's advice and kept moving to the pharmacy, all except for Ben, who just stood there in awe at the glowing tanks.
- >"I should really get going..." He said to himself. "But one little look in the cockpit won't hurt, right?" He peeked inside the cockpit. Inside was an array of buttons and switches and throttles. It was overwhelming to young Ben. He climbed in the cockpit. He studied all of the switches. One of them said 'Do not press until landing'. He had enough common sense not to press it. He pressed a bunch of other switches, but since the helicopter crashed, not of it worked. He was still curious of the mysterious button, but he decided that he should get back. As he tried to make his way out, a walker grabbed him by the collar. He whipped around to see a zombie with a flight suit on, so he immediately determined that it was the pilot. The walker threw him against the dashboard to try and pin him, but Ben got out his trust Kabar knife that he found and jabbed it in the walker's head.
- >"HA! THAT WILL TEACH YOU!" He yelled at the walker. When he came to his senses, he heard what sounded like whirring in the back of the helicopter. "Wait, what?" He looked back and saw that the blue tanks where increasing in intensity. He started panicking, wondering what was going on. He then looked back at the control panel.
- >The button was pressed.
- >"Uh oh."

- >Lee was checking in cabinets, under desks, everywhere, looking for supplies. The group was running low on food and meds. He found a couple of protein bars in a small drawer, but that was it. The place was completely dry. He walked back to the main room to meet back with the others.
- >"So, did you guys find anything? All I found was a couple of health bars, but that's it."
- >"No. We didn't find a thing. Bandits must've raided here earlier. It's dry." Lilly said.
- >"Well, anybody got any ideas?"
- >Everybody shook their heads.
- >"Wait, where's Ben?" Mark asked, looking worried.
- >"Oh no, he must still be back at the chopper!" Shawn said as he ran to the window. When he looked out, he noticed the chopper was glowing brighter and brighter, getting bluer by the second. The sound of the whirring getting louder. "GUYS, YOU MIGHT WANT TO SEE THIS!" Everyone came running to the window.
- >"He must've pressed something! That dumb boy!" Chuck yelled. The chopper glowed brighter and brighter until the intensity got too much to look at. Lee attempted to look at it, and when he did, he saw it looked like it was about to explode.
- >"EVERYONE GET DOWN!" Everyone fell to the floor. The sound became deafening. They covered their ears to keep their ears from bleeding. Just when they thought something was going to happen, the noise stopped, and the light disappeared.
- >"You think it's safe?" Doug asked after a few seconds.
- >"You just had to say that didn't you?"
- >A huge blast of blue erupted from the chopper. The blast went through the whole city. The survivors all blacked out, but they weren't dead. Lee was the only one who felt like he was conscious. He felt like his body was changing, reforming. It did not feel good. The transformation was so painful, that he blacked out in the middle of it. He would not wake up for several more hours, but he would wake up in a place he never thought possible.
- >His last thoughts were if Clementine was safe.
- >To be continued...
