  1. >"My name's Pinkie Pie and you're new in town you know how I know because I know everypony in ponyville and I haven't seen you before so you must be new and thats why when you walked in I went *GASP* and got the most absolute fantastic idea to throw you a "Welcome to Ponyville" party so you can meet all kinds of new friends!"
  2. >You giggled at Anon's face as he tried to comprehend what was happening just now.
  3. >You had never told Pinkie Pie about Anon living with you. And that he had actually been here almost a week.
  4. >You were a little afraid of the reaction she would have if she found out you've been keeping him a secret from everyone but Rarity.
  5. >But today you were confident enough to introduce him to all of Ponyville.
  6. >And what better way than a Pinkie Pie party?
  7. >Anon is visibly trying to ignore Pinkie Pie.
  8. >His eyes closed and hands to his ears.
  9. >Pinkie Pie can't take the hint and continues to chat him up.
  10. >Pinkie Pie eventually looks up to you and zips over.
  11. >"Oh yeah! The berries!"
  12. "We picked these for you this afternoon. They are fresh, I promise."
  13. >"That's just super duper! Sugarcube Corner only takes the best ingredients it can get!"
  14. >"So I'm sorry I can't give you more bits, but I can give you each a cake, pie, cupcake, cookie, or donut of your choice!"
  15. "That would be wonderful Pinkie. What do you think Anon?"
  16. >"Hey!"
  17. >You watch Anon run out the door and the door slam behind him.
  18. --
  19. "Anon where are you going?"
  20. >"Ooh maybe he found somepony to invite to his party!"
  21. >All of a sudden Pinkie Pie started shaking violently.
  22. >"P-p-pinkie s-s-sense is-s-s tingli-i-ing!" she stammered out.
  23. >A full body shake?
  24. >OH! You remember this!
  25. >Something BIG is about to happen. A real doozy.
  26. >But what could really happen now?
  27. >There hasn't been a real danger in Equestria in a while.
  28. >You look out the window and see a large crowd of ponies.
  29. >Twilight is leading them.
  30. >What's going on?
  31. >Are they introducing themselves already? That wasn't part of the plan.
  32. >Twilight crouched into a fighting stance, her horn glowing bright.
  33. "Oh no... Anon!"
  34. --
  35. >You run over to the door and try to open it.
  36. >Your momentum meets the unmoving door and you end up slamming into it.
  37. "What's going on?"
  38. >There's a magic aura about the door, holding it shut.
  39. "Twilight!"
  40. >You look out the window of the door and see Rainbow Dash and Applejack on the other side of Anon from the crowd.
  41. "Rainbow Dash! Applejack! What's going on?"
  42. >Pinkie had stopped shaking and ran up to the window.
  43. >Her looks of excitement had turned into fear.
  44. >She knew to trust her Pinkie Sense, as did you, and she knew even now that this was a very serious situation.
  45. >"They can't hear you Fluttershy! We had to sound-proof Sugarcube Corner because of the noise complaints from all the parties. If we didn't then we couldn't host anymore parties here!"
  46. >You started to pound on the door with all your might.
  47. >No matter how hard you tried, the door wouldn't budge.
  48. >You could only stare at Anon through the little window.
  49. >Tears filled your eyes and there was nothing you could do to help Anon.
  50. --
  51. >All of a sudden Rainbow Dash rushed Anon with his back turned.
  52. "Anon look out!"
  53. >He couldn't hear you, but shouting at him made it feel as if you were helping.
  54. >You gave a sigh of relief as Anon twirled around and managed to avoid Rainbow's hit, but he threw her right into the crowd.
  55. >That is only going to make them more angry, even if he was acting in self-defense.
  56. >Twilight was also hit and her magic on the door began to fade from losing her concentration.
  57. >Your hard concentration on Anon prevents you from taking notice.
  58. >"Wow did you see that!" cheered Pinkie.
  59. >Anon rolled out of the way of Applejacks lasso and stood up.
  60. >He gave you a second-long stare that seemed to last forever.
  61. "Anon, no!"
  62. >He broke the stare and bolted towards Applejack, jumping over her and took off from town.
  63. >Twilight, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack took off after him.
  64. >You finally took notice of the faded magic and began pounding on the door again.
  65. "What's wrong! Pinkie the door's stuck!"
  66. >Pinkie rushed over and unbolted the lock.
  67. >You didn't care about the time your ignorance had just cost you.
  68. >You had to follow the others and help Anon.
  69. --
  70. >You bursted through the doors of Sugarcube Corner and into the street.
  71. >You heard the shouts of the ponies behind you.
  72. >"Is that Fluttershy?"
  73. >"She's alive!"
  74. >"I thought the monster got her!"
  75. >They thought Anon killed you?
  76. >Did they not just see you walking through town with him?
  77. >Did they even look inside Sugarcube Corner at all?
  78. >There is no reason they should've missed you at all.
  79. >You put it out of your mind.
  80. >Right now Anon needs you help.
  81. >You can hear the blasts of magic in the distance and can see a few small lightning bolts shoot up over the hills.
  82. >And like that, you're off.
  83. >At first it's a sprint but you spread your wings and jump into the air.
  84. >You were never a strong flier, but that wasn't the case now.
  85. >You took off with a speed to rival Rainbow Dash herself.
  86. --
  87. >You follow the sounds of magic blasts in the distance.
  88. >They got really far in the short minute head start they got.
  89. >You speed onward with all your might.
  90. >You hear a loud crash and shouting.
  91. "Oh no... Please Celestia, no!"
  92. >Suddenly a large blast of electrical energy flashes into the sky.
  93. >Your eyes grow wide with terror at the sight.
  94. >What has Twilight done?
  95. >That blast is large enough to cripple a small dragon, much less a fleshy human like Anonymous.
  96. >It takes a minute, but you finally reach the area of the blast.
  97. >You fall from the sky and slam into the ground.
  98. >Twilight is speaking when you get there.
  99. >"-but it just shrugged it off like it was nothing! Not even an adolescent dragon could've-"
  100. >She is cut off and startled at your approach.
  101. --
  102. >"Fluttershy!" Twilight speaks up.
  103. >"We thought you-"
  104. "Where is he!"
  105. >Twilight recoils at your volume.
  106. "Where is Anonymous!"
  107. >"Who? The monster?"
  108. "He's not a monster!"
  109. >Applejack speaks next.
  110. >"Woah there sugarcube. Just calm down and-"
  111. "WHERE IS HE!"
  112. >Twilight looked towards where Anon had run off to.
  113. >"He went that way. I think he was headed for the Everfree Forest."
  114. >Oh no...
  115. >You take off again, leaving Applejack and Twilight in shock.
  116. >You didn't even recognize that Rainbow Dash was there.
  117. >You left Twilight and Applejack to untangle Rainbow Dash.
  118. >Anonymous is headed for the Everfree Forest.
  119. >With luck you can rescue him before some monster gets to him first.
  120. --
  121. >You come across the outskirts of the Everfree Forest.
  122. >You come to a stop at the edge of the forest and land on the ground.
  123. >The dark and twisted trees loom over you.
  124. >Trying to find Anonymous in this forest is going to be a real chore in itself.
  125. >You can't just fly through it. The branches, vines, and fog would obscure your vision and get in your way far too often to be of any use.
  126. >You are absolutely terrified of this place.
  127. >But for Anon, you are willing to brave the horrors of this forest.
  128. >As long as it brings you two back together, you're willing to put your own life in danger.
  129. >For Anon.
  130. >For your love.
  131.
  132. "Anon! ... Anon!"
  133. >It had been 4 hours now.
  134. >Your shouts had become very tired and weak.
  135. >Your muscles ached.
  136. >The sun was starting to go down and the Everfree Forest is much more dangerous at night compared to the day.
  137. >The thick foliage and fog made night come to the forest much sooner than outside the borders.
  138. >You had to leave.
  139. >As much as it killed you, you had to leave Anon for the night.
  140. >You pray to Celestia the timber wolves don't get to him and that he makes it to your cottage during the night if he isn't there already.
  141. --
  142. >The moon had already risen by the time you got home.
  143. >You run over the bridge, up the walk, and burst through the door.
  144. "Anon! Anon are you here?"
  145. >There was no reply.
  146. >You went into the kitchen.
  147. >Everything was how you left it this morning.
  148. >You went out back.
  149. >Anon's metal tub had not been touched.
  150. >You walk down to the pond to check if he was down there.
  151. >You had hoped to see him lying behind the weeping willow. But alas, he was not there.
  152. >You slowly dragged yourself up to the house.
  153. >Maybe he will come home in the night.
  154. >You set out his quilt and pillow on the floor like you did the first night he left.
  155. >You walk over to the window and look out, hoping to see him one last time, walking up to the house.
  156. >You saw nothing in the darkness.
  157. >The moon and the stars shone brightly tonight.
  158. >You wonder if Anon is staring up at the sky tonight as well.
  159. "Princess Luna, please watch over Anonymous tonight. Please keep him safe."
  160. >A tear fell from you cheek onto the floor.
  161. "Please..."
  162. >You dragged yourself upstairs to your room.
  163. >You threw yourself on the bed, not even trying to snuggle yourself in.
  164. >You cried yourself asleep, alone for the first time in a while.
  165. --
  166. >The rooster crowed, signalling the sun had risen.
  167. >You perk your ears up, raise your head, and bolt towards the door of your bedroom.
  168. >Maybe Anon had come home last night!
  169. >You race down the stairs with a large smile on your face, ready to face the love you had lost the night before.
  170. >But alas, he was not here.
  171. >The blanket and quilt had not been touched since.
  172. >Your heart took a devastating blow just then.
  173. >Your smiling falling from your face, your head drooping low.
  174.
  175. >You didn't eat breakfast.
  176. >You just sat on your couch.
  177. >You didn't eat lunch.
  178. >You got up to feed and tend to the animals.
  179. >Some of the more aware ones took note of your depressed self and tried their best to make you happy.
  180. >It didn't work.
  181. >You went back inside and sat back down on the couch.
  182. >You had not moved Anon's quilt or pillow.
  183. >You did nothing all day.
  184. >You skipped dinner.
  185. >Night rolled around once again.
  186. >Still no sign of Anon.
  187. >You stayed up as long as you could, fighting hard to stay awake.
  188. >You eventually passed out on the couch.
  189. --
  190. >Another day has come.
  191. >You had slept through the rooster crow.
  192. >It was almost noon by the time you woke up.
  193. >Anon had still not come around.
  194. >You get up and tend to the animals once again.
  195. >You had missed breakfast again, and not eating at all the day before left your stomach growling furiously for something to eat.
  196. >After you had finished feeding the animals, you went into the kitchen to fix something to eat.
  197. >After much thought and consideration, you settle for waffles.
  198. >You set a plate down on the table.
  199. >You set your own plate down as well.
  200. >You still do not feel like eating, but your stomach demands food.
  201. >You nibble on your food as you stare at Anon's place at the the table.
  202. >His waffles are getting cold.
  203. >You recall the last time he was here for waffles.
  204. >How adorable his syrup-soaked face was.
  205. >His voracious appetite was always a pleasure to see fulfilled.
  206. >How sastisfied he was after that wonderful breakfast.
  207. >But today, you eat alone.
  208. --
  209. >You only stared at the ground at your hooves.
  210. >Tears poured from your face.
  211. >You couldn't stand to be without Anonymous.
  212. >The tinkling of silverware on the plate in front of you caught your attention.
  213. >Your ears perked up and you snapped your head up.
  214. "Angel those aren't for you."
  215. >Angel had climbed onto the table.
  216. >A napkin was tied around his neck for a bib and he held a fork and knife in each hand.
  217. >He continued to cut into the food in front of him.
  218. >You repeat yourself, a little louder than before.
  219. "Angel Bunny! That's Anonymous's breakfast!"
  220. >The rabbit ignored you and brought a piece of waffle to its mouth.
  221. >You brought your hooves up and slammed them onto the table.
  222. "ANGEL BUNNY! THOSE ARE FOR ANONYMOUS!"
  223. >In a blind fit of rage you slapped the fork from his hand and threw the plate off the table into the wall.
  224. >He didn't care at all for Anonymous.
  225. >Just because he thought Anonymous was gone, he would become the favorite again?
  226. >Your face was that of pure anger.
  227. >He backed down, surprised and frightened.
  228. >He scampered out of the room and left you to your tears.
  229. >You cried for Celestia knows how long.
  230. >After you had calmed yourself, you cleaned up the mess off the floor and wall.
  231. >You had just finished washing the dishes when there was a knock at the door.
  232. --
  233. "Anonymous!"
  234. >You flew as quickly as possible and threw open the front door.
  235. >What you found was much less pleasing than Anonymous.
  236. >The rest of the mane 6 were there.
  237. "What..."
  238. >They were wondering how you were holding up as you had not come into town or even tried to talk to any of them.
  239. >You invited them in and stood in the living room with them.
  240. "How am I holding up? How am I holding up?!"
  241. >Your anger was visibly growing and your guests were becoming very worried of your deteriorating condition.
  242. >Twilight spoke.
  243. >"Fluttershy you need to calm down and tell us what's wrong."
  244. "Really? Are you really asking that right now? Are you blind or are you just stupid Twilight!"
  245. >Twilight recoiled.
  246. >All this anger...
  247. >This is not the Element of Kindness they had known only a few days ago.
  248. >Applejack had spoken next.
  249. >"Sugarcube if your talkin' 'bout Anonymous, we did what we had ta do."
  250. "And what exactly was that?"
  251. >"He attacked you outside of Ponyville. He attacked us outside Sugarcube Corner!"
  252. >Rainbow Dash spoke next.
  253. >"Yeah Fluttershy! Just because you were able to tame him, doesn't mean he won't turn on one of us! If he attacked you, then he is sure to-"
  254. >You threw a hoof and hit Rainbow Dash right in the cheek.
  255. --
  256. >You're not very strong, but the fact you struck her put everypony in shock.
  257. "SHUT UP RAINBOW DASH!"
  258. >The Fluttershy they have all known before was gone.
  259. >Tears rained from your face.
  260. >Rainbow Dash didn't say another word.
  261. >"He was a wild beast Fluttershy. I know how much you love animals but you can't help but take care of even the dangerous ones. Remember the parasprites?"
  262. >You and Rarity spoke up at the same time.
  263. >"He is not a monster!"
  264. "He is not a monster!"
  265. >You were shocked to see how Rarity was standing up for Anonymous with you.
  266. >"He is undoubtedly the most compassionate and talented gentlecolts I have ever had the pleasure of meeting." Rarity explained.
  267. >"But he attacked us outside Sugarcube Corner!" retorted Applejack.
  268. >"That's a lie!" shouted Pinkie Pie.
  269. >She jumped in front of Applejack and stuck a hoof in her chest.
  270. >"Your lying Applejack! I was standing there with Fluttershy and we saw the whole thing! Rainbow Dash attacked Anonymous first! He was only defending himself!"
  271. >The room was now split.
  272. >Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and yourself are on one side, defending Anonymous.
  273. >Twilight, Applejack , and Rainbow Dash on the other, arguing against Anonymous.
  274. --
  275. "I think you three better go..."
  276. >You didn't shout, but almost growled.
  277. >Twilight, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash backed out the door.
  278. >Rainbow Dash looked back as she walked out.
  279. >You gave her the coldest dead-stare you could possibly muster at this time.
  280. >She quickly turned her head and shut the door
  281.
  282. >Twilight spoke softly to the other two.
  283. >"This Anonymous is an obvious danger to Equestria."
  284. >"No doubt," Applejack said. "Do ya'll see how he's corrupting our friends like that? What happened to the Element of Kindness?"
  285. >Rainbow Dash brought a hoof to her cheek.
  286. >"Tell me about it..." she muttered.
  287.
  288. >"So darling, have you had any luck finding our dear Anonymous?" Rarity asked.
  289. "No I haven't."
  290. >You can feel yourself choking up again.
  291. "After Twilight shot him, I followed him into the Everfree Forest."
  292. >Pinkie Pie and Rarity gasped.
  293. >Twilight shot him?
  294. >And he thought the Everfree Forest was a good place to run?
  295. "I searched for him until nightfall before I had to come home."
  296. >Tears were starting to pool in your eyes.
  297. "I thought maybe he would come back home so I set out his pillow and quilt for when he got back."
  298. >You pointed to the makeshift bedroll on the floor.
  299. "Except... *sniff* he never came back."
  300. >You were now in a full on cascade of tears.
  301. --
  302. >Rarity and Pinkie Pie were also tearing up.
  303. >Rarity led you to the couch and sat down with you.
  304. >She gave you a hug, putting your face over her shoulder.
  305. >She tried to offer what comfort she could.
  306. >You were wiping your tears in her mane, but Rarity ignored it.
  307. >Pinkie Pie sat on the floor in front of the two of you, just staring at the Anon's bed.
  308. >She was probably more upset that she lost a potential friend and a chance for another party.
  309. >But the fact that she was here now and that she defended Anon proved otherwise.
  310.
  311. >You cried for a good long while.
  312. >Rarity never let go and Pinkie Pie never left your side.
  313. >Your stomach called out again.
  314. >You barely touched your breakfast this morning before you washed the dishes.
  315. >Rarity pulled you off her shoulder and gave a little smile.
  316. >"Why darling, when was the last time you ate?"
  317. >Pinkie Pie perked up immediately.
  318. >"We need to get you some food, you silly filly!"
  319. >And with that she disappeared into the kitchen.
  320. >Thank Celestia you have friends who care as much as they do.
  321. >But then you have the other friends...
  322. >They have good intentions, but they are blinded by their prejudice and false assumptions to truly give Anon a chance.
  323. >Or to see your true feelings for him...
  324. --
  325. >The night is coming once again.
  326. >Pinkie Pie and Rarity had stayed with you to comfort you and make sure you actually ate something.
  327. >Your heart-to-heart conversations continued until the sun was about to set.
  328. >You gave a hug goodbye to Rarity and Pinkie Pie and went back to sit on your couch.
  329. >Anon's bedroll was going to get dirty with everypony walking on it.
  330. >You fold it up and place it on the edge of the couch.
  331. >You then recall Anon's idea from earlier, and instead lay the quilt out over the couch.
  332. >Heh... It really does look better like that.
  333.
  334. >The night had come and the moon was out.
  335. >You sat in the darkness alone.
  336. >You recall the very few, but beautiful memories you have shared with Anon.
  337. >The picnic, the willow tree, the berry picking...
  338. >The tree you first met...
  339. >You looked up to see the moonlight shining through the window.
  340. >It fell directly on Anon's pack and guitar case.
  341. >Without thinking, you got off the couch, grabbed the guitar case in your mouth, and left your house.
  342. --
  343. >The moon is truly beautiful tonight.
  344. >It was full and shone brightly down on the sleeping world below it.
  345. >The stars were plenty and clearly visible in this clear sky.
  346. >There were no clouds or light pollution to keep this beauty hidden tonight.
  347. >You were beginning to understand why Anonymous loved his night walks.
  348.
  349. >Just like the first night he was here, you wandered down the road and into the country.
  350. >There was no need for a lamp.
  351. >The moon took care of any issues you could possibly have with the darkness.
  352. >The memories of your time spent with Anonymous raced back into your mind.
  353. >There is nopony else for you in this world, and you could not continue to live knowing Anonymous had been taken from you forever.
  354.
  355. >You wandered for a good 30 minutes before that humble tree came into view.
  356. >It stood against the night sky, defiant even against the hollow darkness.
  357. >It bowed for nothing.
  358. >Not the sun, rain, or snow.
  359. >You dragged the guitar up the hill and settled down.
  360. >You layed the case down and placed your head upon it.
  361. >You started to cry again.
  362. >But you heard a voice.
  363. >A voice so familiar and sweet, there was nopony else it could possibly be...
