  1. >You spend the next few minutes suggesting various activities to each other. Fluttershy wanted to do play and tend to the animals. You just wanted to relax. You both agreed however, that you should do something outside.
  2. >You speak simultaneously.
  3. "How about a picnic?"
  4. >"How about a picnic?"
  5. >You both laugh at the unexpected agreement.
  6. >It looked like a wonderful day out. You shouldn't spend it cooped up inside.
  7. >The next hour is spent preparing for your outing together. Fluttershy insisted on making lunch. She wanted you to just go and take a nap, but you just woke up like 2 hours earlier.
  8. >Instead you go outside and play in the stream in front of her house. You're just like a child, damming up the stream with rocks to try to stop the water.
  9. >Fluttershy calls you back inside, ready to leave.
  10. >Finally set, you make one last preparation.
  11. "Just let me toss my clothes in the dryer and we can head out." You call to her.
  12. >"That would be wonderful." She responds.
  13. --
  14. >You change over your laundry and walk into the kitchen. Fluttershy had a picnic basket in her mouth and an eager expression on her face. You both walk to the front door and an idea hits you. You quick run to the corner and grab your guitar case.
  15. >You would be out of your mind to go anywhere without it. That's like leaving your cell phone at home. You never know when you might want it. It will also provide some entertainment for later.
  16. >A giggle comes from the closed mouth of Fluttershy. You sure love that guitar, and she knows it. She has witnessed first hand the elegant music you can create with that instrument.
  17. >You know this to be false. Yes you can play a large variety of songs, but Fluttershy is obviously over-exaggerating your talents... right?
  18. >You have no idea where you are going. Fluttershy is leading the way. You are just along for the ride. You are following to the side and a step or two back from Fluttershy. Letting her know she has the lead.
  19. >You notice a look of discomfort in her face and neck. You simply walk up and lightly grab the handle of the picnic basket.
  20. "Please?"
  21. >She smiles and releases the handle, allowing you to carry it. You decide it's probably best to walk side by side from here.
  22. >The mannerisms of Anon make her blush and feel important. He cares for her and is polite enough to keep her from feeling slightly uncomfortable.
  23. >Perhaps Rarity would like to meet him sometime? Surely she would adore his etiquette and appreciate his fondness for clothing. Of course that would have to wait.
  24. --
  25. >You both arrive at the picnic spot. A beautiful plain that must have stretched a full square mile. Wild grasses and flowers of all kinds spread across the field. You gotta hand it to Fluttershy. She knows beauty when she sees it. She also knows how to put a smile across your face.
  26. >It was high noon. The sun shined bright on the world. Almost all evidence of the previous night's rain were evaporated. The clouds were few, but large and fluffy. You have always thought about what it would be like to jump out of a plane and land on a cottony-soft cloud.
  27. >You were staring at the sky in awe. Fluttershy softly nuzzled your hand, causing you to look down. You instinctively held out the basket as she took the handle in her mouth.
  28. >She set it down and opened it up. With her mouth pulled out a red and white checkered blanket. You stepped forward to help her lay it out, but in one quick whip of her head the blanket threw itself out flat and even. Very impressive.
  29. >You take the basket and place it on the center of the blanket. You allow Fluttershy to seat herself before you take a seat opposite of her, indian-style.
  30. >"I have a surprise for you Anon. I'm sure you will enjoy it very much." She canted her head, closed her eyes, and smiled.
  31. "Really..." You lean forward, elbows on your thighs, supporting your head with a fist under your chin.
  32. >She reaches into the basket and pulls out a sandwich before handing it over to you. She gives a cheerful squee as you take it from her. That sound... So adorable...
  33. >You take it without question and thank her, bowing your head as you do.
  34. >You bring the sandwich to your mouth to take a bite.
  35. --
  36. >A white blur and a pain in the cheek take you by complete surprise. Your shock subsides immediately. Standing on Fluttershy's head, YOUR sandwich in hand, is that damn rabbit from earlier.
  37. >Who the hell does he think he is? You are about to lunge for the little bastard, but then...
  38. >The rabbit goes to take a bite out of your sandwich, but then he stops. He curiously begins to sniff it. Ok that's wierd. You swear he looks like he's about to vomit.
  39. >His face turns green and he throws a paw up in front of his mouth. He turns to you and whips the sandwich at you, hitting you in the face. Your anger flares up again, but only briefly. What is that odor!
  40. >You peel the sandwich off your face and open it up. Fish? FISH!
  41. >You destroy that sandwich in a matter of seconds. Oh my god... You can't remember the last time you had fish, or even any kind of meat. You wish you were able to savor the taste. If only Fluttershy had brou-
  42. >Fluttershy! She knew you ate meat? And she was comfortable with that?
  43. >You are staring at Fluttershy across the blanket  a face of shock, but a feeling of tremendous gratitude. She is still giving you that tilted smile.
  44. "You knew? And... and you don't care?"
  45. >She never loses her cool. "Of course not!" She cradles Angel in her hooves. "I have dealt with carnivores before. Large birds of prey, seals, even bears! They can't simply eat plants all the time, or sometimes even at all."
  46. >Too bad that rabbit of hers didn't take a bite. You probably would've busted a gut at the consequences of it's selfish and rude behavior.
  47. --
  48. >You didn't even notice the smell until he threw the sandwich in your face. Fluttershy must have hidden the sandwich under something more aromatic. But that doesn't defeat the fact that you never smelled it cooking back at the cottage. Fish can really stink and the smell can hang around for a while. She is a very sneaky pony to have hidden this from you.
  49. >You reach across the blanket and take Fluttershy in your arms. Giving thanks for the wonderful meal, albeit just a sandwich. She turns a darker shade of red than you have ever seen before. She returns the gesture, and you stay there for a good minute or two.
  50. >Angel however, becomes crushed between the two of you. He tries to force the two of you apart with his rear legs on your chest and forelegs on hers. He gives up and hops away with a look of disgust on his face. You snicker at him as you watch him leave. Fluttershy doesn't seem to notice.
  51. --
  52. >You finally break the embrace. Fluttershy is visibly distressed by the sudden end of the moment. Her mane covering her eyes as she looks to the ground.
  53. >You reach into the picnic basket and pull out a salad and 2 apples. You place the salad on the blanket in front of her along with an apple. You also find a small vase with some daisies in it and place them between the two of you.
  54. >She understands the gesture as you both sit quietly and proceed to enjoy your meal.
  55. >You finish your apple and lie down across the blanket, staring at the sky. Fluttershy looks up from her plate, nods, and continues to eat her lunch.
  56. >You have only known this pony for just over 24 hours. Yet already you feel a connection between the two of you. Her being a pony meant absolutely nothing to you, this was beyond the physical.
  57.  She fit the personality of the one you would spend your entire life with. The one you would fight for... Die for... She was almost like you.
  58. >She gave you everything, and you had nothing to show for it. It's nothing compared, but you feel it's the best you can do at this point in time. Once again, you go to open your guitar case. Fluttershy's ears twitch at the clips coming undone and she looks up at you, unsure of what is going on.
  59. >You pull it out of its case, the sun reflecting off it's polished surface. A quick strum of the strings and you feel you can do this. A guitar serenade for your dear Fluttershy.
  60. --
  61. >Fluttershy walks over and sits next to you. She leans over and rests her head on your shoulder. She closes her eyes and just listens.

  82. >Fluttershy is crying. You are also. She is the one you will never want to let go of. You know she feels the same.
  83. >Only a day, and your life has changed forever. Gone are the sins of your past. Gone are the worries and troubles of your ill-fated world. Gone... your family... You still loved your family, there's no denying it. But you wanted a new life. A new start. You have found it. Everything and more.
  84. >You lay your guitar to the side. You embrace Fluttershy in a hug once more. You slowly fall backward with her in your arms. Her head on your chest, you both fall asleep in each others' warm embrace.
  85. >The painful memories disappear in an instant. You have only aspirations and questions of what the future might hold.
  86. >Your new life starts now. And you wouldn't have it any other way.
