  1. "Nononono! Trust me, that won't be neccesary!"
  2. >You back against the wall as Fluttershy approaches you with the largest fucking thermometer you've ever seen in your entire life.
  3. >"But Twilight's book says that the best way to get your temperature is to-"
  4. "I don't need a thermometer to know I have a fever!"
  5. >"But we need to know for sure. If I can just..."
  6. >Fluttershy closes in on you.
  7. "NEVER!"
  8. >You slap the thermometer away and vault over her.
  9. >You dive behind the safety of your couch.
  10. >"Oh. That's okay then. I guess we don't need to get your temperature right now."
  11. >Damn straight, skippy.
  12.
  13. >Fluttershy seats herself down on the rug.
  14. >"Well, how do we find out what's wrong with you?"
  15. "I told you already. I'm feeling fine."
  16. >But you're still not well."
  17. "Does it matter?"
  18. >Fluttershy ponders this for a moment.
  19. >"Well... I guess not."
  20. "So it's agreed? No more crazy medical procedures that neither of us know anything about?"
  21. >"But I was certain that a colonoscopy could-"
  22. "No, it can't!"
  23. >"But the book said-"
  24. "Since when did you turn into Twilight?"
  25. >She bowed her head and began to sniffle.
  26. >Oh, nononono.
  27. >Bad, Anon. Bad.
  28. --
  29. >You come out from behind the couch and crouch in front of her.
  30. >You brush her bangs from her face and lift her chin.
  31. >"I *sniff* only want what's best for you. *sniff*" she whispers.
  32. >You embrace her.
  33. "I know," you whisper in her ear. "I'm sorry."
  34. >She calmed down rather quickly.
  35. >"So... I take it you don't want the thermometer?"
  36. >You pull back from the hug and give her a deadpan stare.
  37. >"I'll take that as a no."
  38.
  39. >You stand and look at the stacks of books Twilight had left for Fluttershy.
  40. >She said she only left you a few...
  41. "Maybe it's best if you just don't read up on this anymore than what's needed."
  42. >"How do we know what's needed?"
  43. "I'll tell you. And I say, no more."
  44. >You look over the mess once more.
  45. "Perhaps we should clean this up."
  46. >"Oh. Okay, then."
  47.
  48. "Can I ask you a question?"
  49. >You grab a small stack.
  50. >"Okay."
  51. >You look at her and smile.
  52. "You should show me how you made that veggie soup from last night.
  53. >Fluttershy lifts a book and adds it to your stack.
  54. >"That would be wonderful."
  55. --
  56. >You awaken the next morning with a slight pain in the base of your neck, and your voice is a little raspy.
  57. >But all in all, you feel fine.
  58. >You playfully gloated to Fluttershy about how you knew all along.
  59. >She seemed upset about how she couldn't play the tender, loving, and caring mother anymore.
  60. >You try to get your daily routine back on track.
  61. >You workout schedule has been derailed so many times now, it was pathetic.
  62. >How you are making any progress is beyond you.
  63. >You decide to push yourself today in hopes of making up for anything you may have lost over the last few days.
  64. >You instantly regret this decision.
  65. >After a slow mile, you say 'Fuck it' and turn around, walking back home.
  66.
  67. >So tired and worn out..
  68. >You're getting fat.
  69. >This sucks so hard.
  70. >"Hey, Anon. What's up?"
  71. >You stop and turn around.
  72. >Nothing there.
  73. >You turn back around to see Rainbow Dash staring you RIGHT IN THE FUCKING FACE.
  74. >You reel back and fall on your ass in surprise.
  75. >She laughs at your idiocy.
  76. --
  77. >She sits there, hovering over you.
  78. >A smile is plastered across her face.
  79. >You're curious as to what she wants, but also a little scared.
  80. >She offers her hoof to you.
  81. >You're suspicious of accepting it, but take it anyways.
  82. >You feel relieved when all she does is pull you to your feet.
  83. >"Dang, Anon. You're a heavy one."
  84. >That kind of hurts.
  85. >Yeah you were just calling yourself fat, but that's different.
  86. >You think.
  87. "Yeah," is all you can respond with.
  88.
  89. >You continue your walk home with Rainbow Dash hovering beside you.
  90. >"So, Anon."
  91. "Yeah?"
  92. >"What are you doing out here?"
  93. "Training."
  94. >"I can see that. But WHAT are you doing?"
  95. "..... Training?"
  96. >Rainbow Dash facehoofs.
  97. >"No stu- ... No. I mean, why are you walking?"
  98. "Im tired."
  99. >Rainbow blows raspberries at you.
  100. >"And you expect to beat ME in a race?"
  101. --
  102. >She must have already forgotten how sick you were just the other day when she came by.
  103. >That, or she's just busting your balls.
  104. >Hard to tell, really.
  105. >She's not the brightest pony you've ever met.
  106. "Well, you know. I need to get faster somehow."
  107. >"You barely ran a mile!"
  108. >Stalker...
  109. >You don't call her out on it though.
  110. "Bad pacing on my part," is your excuse.
  111. >She found this rather hilarious and dropped to the ground to walk while she laughed at you.
  112.
  113. "Is there a reason you're here? Or are you just getting off making me feel bad."
  114. >She ignored you, but responded when she finally calmed down.
  115. >"I, uh... heh... I just came by to see if you're game for the Running of the Leaves."
  116. >The Running of the- Oh yeah!
  117. >Way back when you first got here, you had a conversation with Fluttershy about it.
  118. >How you thought that sprinting through the forest, a shower of-
  119. >You get punched in the shoulder by Rainbow.
  120. >"Snap out of it and answer my question," she demands.
  121. >You think for a moment.
  122. "When is it?"
  123. >"Two months."
  124. --
  125. >Two months, eh?
  126. >At least she's waiting until after your wedding.
  127. >Just barely though.
  128. >There's still a lot of time until then and now.
  129. >Plenty of time to get into shape.
  130. >That is, as long as you stop getting yourself hurt.
  131. >Or if you don't freeze due to it being the middle of November.
  132. >Is the Equestrian calendar the same as Earth's?
  133. >You're going to assume it is.
  134. >Come to think of it, the nights are going to become rather cold soon.
  135. >Maybe you should start wearing your faded, old jacket from when you got here.
  136. >If you can even find it, that is.
  137. >Maybe Rarity can patch it up for you?
  138. >Or make something a little warmer at least.
  139.
  140. >Rainbow Dash punches you in the shoulder again.
  141. >"Hey. Question. Answer. Now."
  142. >You rub your shoulder.
  143. "A little impatient, aren't we?"
  144. >"Well, what is it?"
  145. >That's a yes.
  146. "Yeah, sure. I guess."
  147. >Rainbow Dash smiles.
  148. >"Perfect. I'll see you then."
  149. "Won't I see you at the Gala tomorrow night?"
  150. >Her smile disappears.
  151. >"Sh-shut up. You know what I meant."
  152. >She flies away, your childish laughs following after her.
  153. --
  154. >You make it home, much to the surprise of Fluttershy.
  155. >"You're home early."
  156. "Didn't want to push myself too hard."
  157. >You fucking liar.
  158. >"Oh, okay. That's good of you. What would you like for breakfast?"
  159. "Hmm..." you scratch your chin. "I don't care."
  160. >Fluttershy's eager face left for a blank stare.
  161. >"What would you like for breakfast?" she asks again.
  162. "I don't care."
  163. >You walk over to the couch and lie down on your face.
  164. >Fluttershy walks around and stands beside you.
  165. >"What do you want for breakfast?"
  166. >Ah, so it's this game, is it?
  167.
  168. >You turn your head to face her.
  169. "Surprise me."
  170. >She jumps onto the couch and onto your back.
  171. >You groan and as you feel the weight on your back.
  172. >"What do you want for breakfast?"
  173. >You roll over, dropping her to the floor, and you landing on her.
  174. >You land on your arms to keep as much of your weight off of her without hurting her.
  175. "I don't care."
  176. >She uses her wings and slides out from under you.
  177. >She lands on your back and pushes you into the carpet.
  178. >"What do you want for breakfast?"
  179. >You stand up and back into the couch.
  180. >Fluttershy was holding onto the back of your neck.
  181. >You sit and press her against you and the couch.
  182. "I don't care."
  183. --
  184. >She released your neck and covered your eyes with her hooves.
  185. >You bend over to weaken her grip, then pry her hooves away with your hands.
  186. >She spread her wings and wrapped them around your face.
  187. >"What do you want for breakfast?"
  188. "I don't care!"
  189. >You stand and begin walking around, blindly.
  190. >Fluttershy is bending and twisting your head, causing you to stagger around unbalanced.
  191. >She finally releases you and hops off of your back.
  192. >You are standing in front of the fridge.
  193. "Clever girl..."
  194. >She smiles and squees in victory.
  195. >You sigh and open the fridge.
  196. >And... what do you know?
  197. >Nothing.
  198.
  199. >Fluttershy walks around you to get a peek inside.
  200. >She lets out an audible 'Oh,' at the sight of the empty fridge.
  201. >She turns and goes through the cupboards, looking for anything.
  202. >Unless you can find a way to mix peanuts, pepper, and baking soda, there was no way you were eating this morning.
  203. "How could we possibly run this low on food?"
  204. >"Now that you mention it, I'm not sure."
  205. "Didn't we just make a pot of soup last night?"
  206. >"You ate it all."
  207. "Oh yeah..."
  208. >After a few more minutes of staring into the empty fridge, you shut the door.
  209. "So I guess it's back to Ponyville, huh?"
  210. >"It seems that way."
  211. "Damn it."
  212. >It sucks being poor.
  213. --
  214. >You were drawing a few stares from the other ponies as you walked through town.
  215. >Jeez, get over it why don't you?
  216. >You've only been here for...
  217. >Uh...
  218. >Who cares.
  219. >You shouldn't be a damned attraction everytime you do something different.
  220. >You don't wear shorts into town very often, and only once before to your knowledge.
  221. >So your legs are exposed.
  222. >So what?
  223. >Also, why are you putting so much thought into this?
  224.
  225. >You shake your head and clear your thoughts.
  226. >Breakfast is shot, unless you go for brunch.
  227. >And you don't feel like going out to eat this morning.
  228. >The two of you wander through the market, pointing out various produce, and disagreeing for the most part.
  229. "This sucks."
  230. >"It's not that bad. Why don't you go sit down and rest for a moment or two? I can do this."
  231. "But then you'll end up buying the asparagus. I hate asparagus."
  232. >"But we can't decide on anything this way."
  233. >You sigh.
  234. "Fine, I guess. Maybe we can feed the asparagus to Angel."
  235. >There's no way in bunny hell that rabbit is going to accept straight asparagus.
  236. >Even after you've arrived, Fluttershy constantly caves into his picky behavior when you're not around.
  237. >Come to think of it, that's probably where all of your food goes.
  238. >If something is out of place even the slightest, he throws his food to the ground.
  239. >You're going to have to rectify that.
  240. --
  241. >You leave Fluttershy to her shopping as you find a bench to sit down.
  242. >It's probably not the smartest idea to be sitting with your legs spread like they are, but fuck it all.
  243. >The breeze feels good.
  244. >You nonchalantly wave to the passing ponies.
  245. >The colts and high class ponies showing disgust, while most of the mares giggled and waved back.
  246. >You lean your head back on the bench and rest your eyes for a moment.
  247. >"Hey you."
  248. >Well that didn't last as long as you would've hoped.
  249. >You look towards the voice, expecting a certain brown pony waiting to get his ass beat.
  250. >Instead, to your surprise, a fancy-looking unicorn is sitting beside you.
  251.
  252. "Oh, sorry," you say to him as you scoot over to allow him more room.
  253. >"Why, thank you, sir."
  254. "No problem."
  255. >You cross your arms and tilt your head back again.
  256. >"Fine weather we're having, isn't it?"
  257. >You crack your eye and look over to him.
  258. "Yup," you say, closing your eyes again.
  259. >You're not one for small talk with strangers.
  260. --
  261. >"Anonymous, isn't it?"
  262. >You look over to him before sitting up straight.
  263. "Yeah. How do you do?"
  264. >You extend a hand, which he meets with a hoof.
  265. >"Ah, a firm shake, I must say. It tells a lot about a pony."
  266. "Indeed."
  267. >You could chalk it up that you are actually able to squeeze as opposed to a real pony hoofshake.
  268. >How do ponies even shake hooves?
  269. >"So I heard through the grapevine that you are short on bits at the moment?"
  270. "Well, it's no big secret that I need a real job. But we're scraping by just fine."
  271. >"Well it just so happens that I have a special proposition just for you."
  272. >Sweet!
  273. >Finally, some real work!
  274. >And from a rich pony at that!
  275.
  276. "Sure!"
  277. >You try to hide your excitement, horribly at that.
  278. >"It involves your fiance Fluttershy."
  279. >Suddenly you have a bad feeling about this.
  280. >And the sudden urge to punch him in the mouth before this gets potentially worse.
  281. "Yeah?" you ask, concerned.
  282. >"It's really nothing to worry about," he assures you. "I have a distinct memory of when Fluttershy used to model for the great Photo Finish a while ago."
  283. >You sigh in relief.
  284. >You thought this was going somewhere horrible.
  285. >"I would like to acquire her from you as a trophy wife. For a modest fee of course."
  286. >The sudden urge to punch his fucking face in is back with a passion.
  287. --
  288. >You stand and walk away before you tear him a new asshole.
  289. >But the bastard follows you.
  290. >He trots up alongside you.
  291. >"Well. That was rather rude. Don't you think?"
  292. >That stuck up little...
  293. >He thinks YOU'RE being rude?
  294. >Well you are, but that's besides the point.
  295. "No." you state flatly.
  296. >"Aw, come now, Anonymous. There's no need to be like that."
  297. "There's every need to be like that."
  298. >"Well frankly, I fail to see any reason at all."
  299. >He would.
  300. >"If you would just hear me out, this wouldn't have to be so hostile.
  301. >You stop and turn towards him.
  302. "I'm listening."
  303.
  304. >"Well, it's really quite simple. All you need to do is act like a monster to her. Perhaps strike her while she's shopping. That should work quite well. Then I will come in, play the hero, and Fluttershy will be mine."
  305. >Flawless plan.
  306. >One problem though.
  307. "And what exactly would I get out of this?"
  308. >"Why, money, of course."
  309. >Of course.
  310. >You can always use more money.
  311. --
  312. >You about face and walk away.
  313. >Once again, he trots up beside you.
  314. >"Here."
  315. >He levitates a coinpurse and secures it to your belt.
  316. >"Take this stipend as a consideration."
  317. "I don't want your money."
  318. >You untie the coinpurse and hand it over to him.
  319. >He waves a hoof at you.
  320. >"Keep it. That's just pocket change, my boy. There's more where that came from if you would reconsider."
  321.
  322. >And with that, he trots away, leaving you with his unwanted sack of coins.
  323. >You contemplate scattering the bits around the market.
  324. >You want nothing to do with this pony's ill-gotten money.
  325. >But you do need it...
  326. >And he said he didn't want it, so it wouldn't be stealing for you to keep it.
  327. >Against your good concience, you pocket the money and try to find Fluttershy, just in case something else were to heppen.
  328. >You find her in no time, bartering with the bastard cherry vendor... again.
  329. >You sit and watch and barely manage to surpress your laughter when Fluttershy jumps onto the counter and gives him 'The Stare'.
  330. >The vendor tosses a bag across the counter along with a few bits.
  331. >Fluttershy happily walks away, the bag in her mouth.
  332. >She spots you and you wave her over.
  333. --
  334. >She jumps into your arms as you laugh and give her a kiss.
  335. >She's getting bolder, and finally able to stand up to that guy by herself.
  336. >You're so proud of her.
  337. >But now onto pressing matters.
  338. "Hey Fluttershy," you pull out the sack of coins. "We might have a problem on our hands..."
  339. >"Hooves."
  340. "Now's not the time..."
  341. >She frowns at her bad timing for a joke.
  342. >"I'm sorry."
  343. "Don't be."
  344. >Fluttershy opens the coinpurse to find a surprising amount of bits inside.
  345. >She cocks her head to the side, unable to understand the issue.
  346. >"Did... Did you steal it?"
  347. "What? No! No, I didn't steal it."
  348. >"So... What's the problem here?"
  349.
  350. >You relay the conversation you had with the unicorn only a few minutes prior.
  351. >Fluttershy hides herself behind her mane.
  352. >She apologizes...
  353. >To YOU.
  354. "I don't understand."
  355. >"If it wasn't for those magazines, this wouldn't have happened."
  356. >She sniffles, signaling a cry coming on.
  357. >You crouch and rest both hands on her shoulders.
  358. "Hey now, don't be like that. You think I would leave you for a few coins? You gotta be out of your pretty little mind to think I would do something like that. I doubt we'll ever hear from him again."
  359. >She looks up at you with her big teal eyes from behind her beautiful mane.
  360. >There's that smile you know and love.
  361. --
  362. "Hey, I just got an idea."
  363. >"What's that?" asks Fluttershy, looking up at you inquisitively.
  364. >Without a word, you begin walking away.
  365. >Fluttershy, confused at first, decides to follow.
  366. >You round a corner and your destination becomes all to clear.
  367.
  368. >You enter the Carousel Boutique and find Rarity working the front counter.
  369. "Hey Rarity, I gotta question for you," you say as you step through the door.
  370. >"Huh?" Rarity looks up from her work to spot the two of you entering.
  371. >"Oh! Good afternoon, Anonymous. Fluttershy."
  372. "Afternoon, Rarity. Hey, can I ask you a question?"
  373. >"Of course, Anonymous."
  374. >Rarity takes off her glasses and sets her pen down.
  375. >"What do you need?"
  376.
  377. >You pull up a seat for Fluttershy and you lean on the back of it.
  378. "Well, a few questions actually."
  379. >"I have all day," she says with a smile.
  380. >Quite.
  381. "Well first, you know a lot of high-class ponies, right?"
  382. >"Of course, darling. You don't become the greatest fashionista in Equestria just by dealing with commonfolk."
  383. >You don't know how you should take that comment.
  384. "Alright. Well, do you know anything about the modeling business?"
  385. >Rarity stared at you with a blank expression.
  386. >Even Fluttershy turned and looked up at you with an 'are you serious?' face.
  387. "Okay, sorry I asked."
  388. --
  389. "Well, uh... There's this one pony, a unicorn, who came up to me today."
  390. >"Okay?"
  391. "He talked to me about being interested in Fluttershy. Especially since she used to be a model."
  392. >"A job offer?"
  393. >You shake your head.
  394. "Not quite. He wanted to... uh..."
  395. >You scratch the back of your head.
  396. "How can I say this..."
  397. >"Purchase me," said Fluttershy.
  398. >Rarity gasped and reeled back in surprise before growing a very angry expression.
  399. "Uh... Yeah, actually. What she said."
  400.
  401. >Rarity stomps a hoof.
  402. >"What else did this stallion say to you!" she demands.
  403. "Nothing. He gave me a sack of bits and left."
  404. >You pull out the coinpurse and toss it to Rarity.
  405. >She catches it and peers inside.
  406. "He gave it to me to help persuade me."
  407. >Shaking her head, she returns it to you.
  408. >"What a cheap little..." she growls.
  409. >Rarity takes a deep breath and cools down.
  410. >"Please tell me you're not seriously considering it?" she asks.
  411. "Of course not!"
  412. >She nodded.
  413. >"Just making sure."
  414. --
  415. "So do you think you can help us?"
  416. >She shakes her head.
  417. >"Without a name, he's just another Canterlot pony. There's not much I can do."
  418. "That's a shame."
  419. >"But you know a lot of influential ponies, right?" asks Fluttershy.
  420. >"Of course, darling."
  421. >"So if you were to meet this pony, or get a name, then all would be fine, right?"
  422. >"That is correct."
  423. >Fluttershy nods.
  424. >"Thank you very much, Rarity."
  425. "Yeah, thanks Rarity."
  426. >"It's my pleasure, you two. Please tell me if you have any other problems."
  427. "Will do."
  428. >"Mhmm," agreed Fluttershy.
  429.
  430. >"Well please drop by soo- WAIT!"
  431. >Rarity throws up a hoof to you and Fluttershy as you turned to leave.
  432. >"I forgot something!"
  433. >She galloped off to the back of the shop.
  434. >You and Fluttershy traded glances.
  435. >Neither of you were expecting anything from Rarity.
  436. >Rarity returned with two flat boxes and hovered them over to you and Fluttershy.
  437. >"Your masks!" she said, excitedly.
  438. >The two of you reached out to grab the boxes, only to have them pulled out of reach.
  439. >"But not yet!" she said with a smile.
  440. >What a tease.
  441. --
  442. >"You can't see them, but trust me, you'll like them," said Rarity.
  443. "Well you've never disappointed me before, so I trust you."
  444. >Fluttershy nodded in agreement.
  445. >"Well now that I've shown you your masks, is there anything else you need from me?"
  446. "One thing. Could you actually SHOW us the masks?"
  447. >"No."
  448. "Fair enough. Other than that, I got nothing. Fluttershy?"
  449. >Fluttershy shook her head.
  450. "Nope. Looks like we're good for now."
  451. >"Okay, darling. Now, if you don't mind, I need to get back to work."
  452. "Alright. It was good speaking with you, Rarity."
  453. >"It's always a pleasure, Anonymous. I'll see you tomorrow night. You too, Fluttershy."
  454. >"Okay, Rarity."
  455. >You hold the door open for Fluttershy as you leave.
  456.
  457. "Let me take those bags," you say to Fluttershy after a few hours of shopping.
  458. >She releases them from her mouth and allows you to take them.
  459. >"Don't cut your hands."
  460. "Don't cut my-? Oh, pfft. Yeah, right."
  461. >Fluttershy giggled and you rolled your eyes.
  462. "Let's just get home, alright?"
  463. >"I would like that."
  464. >[One hour later]
  465. >You kick open the front door and race to the kitchen.
  466. >You drop the many bags of food onto the counter.
  467. "Son of a bitch!"
  468. >You shake flail your hands around, trying to ease the pain.
  469. >It's not working.
  470. >"You try too hard," said Fluttershy, laughing as she trotted into the kitchen.
  471. "I don't try hard enough. Otherwise we wouldn't have this money situation."
  472. --
  473. >Fluttershy kissed your hands.
  474. >Like a mother kissing her child's boo boo.
  475. >"I don't care about money."
  476. >She presses her head against your side.
  477. >You instinctively throw an arm around her and pull her closer.
  478. >"I'm sure we will get along just fine. I have confidence in you."
  479. >You don't.
  480. >You don't even know if you will ever get your house payed off.
  481. >Or even find a steady job at that.
  482. "Thanks," is all you're able to respond with.
  483. >You check your pockets and pull out the still-full coinpurse the unicorn gave you.
  484. "Well, at least we're better off than when we left home today.
  485. >Fluttershy nodded.
  486.
  487. >You hand the bag to Fluttershy.
  488. "It WAS because of you, you know. I think you should have it."
  489. >Fluttershy stared at the sack of bits in your hand.
  490. >"I don't want it," she said.
  491. "Well I don't want it. So here, take it."
  492. >You toss the bag onto her back.
  493. >She shakes her flank and drops the bag to the floor.
  494. >"Well I don't want it either."
  495. "He gave it to me for you. So it's only right if you take it."
  496. >"But he gave it to you."
  497. "For you."
  498. >"I'm not touching it," she says, backing away.
  499. >Well, crap.
  500. --
  501. "So..." you twiddle your thumbs. "What do we do with it?"
  502. >"We could put it away. Maybe have it go towards the house payment."
  503. "That... is not a bad idea, actually."
  504. >You walk over and pick up the bag.
  505. >You look back and forth between Fluttershy and the bag.
  506. >You touch Fluttershy with it.
  507. "Touch."
  508. >"Anon!" jumped Fluttershy.
  509. "Heheh, sorry."
  510.
  511. >Fluttershy's yelp drew the attention of Angel, whos was napping in a basket in the living room.
  512. >You never saw much of him lately.
  513. >Probably because it always ended with him being punted out the door.
  514. >Nevertheless, he ran to Fluttershy's aid in the kitchen.
  515. >She was still in that flinching pose when he came running in.
  516. >Thinking you were trying to hurt her, or just taking this opportunity to be an asshole, he leapt up to you and roundhouse kicked the coinpurse from your hands.
  517. >The bag hit the wall and exploded, sending bits all over the kitchen.
  518. >Fluttershy gasped and covered her mouth with her hooves.
  519. "Angel, what the hell!"
  520. --
  521. >The rabbit looked around, confused at the flying coins and Fluttershy's reaction.
  522. >He reached down to his feet and picked one up to inspect it.
  523. >You could swear his pupils turned to cash symbols for a second.
  524. >He hopped onto the counter and grabbed a cookbook.
  525. >You gave a quizzical look at Fluttershy, who only shrugged in response.
  526. >Angel flipped through the pages before coming to a stop.
  527. >He lifted the book and pointed to his prize.
  528. >A giant freakin salad.
  529. >Adorned with all manners of vegetables, and even whipped cream and a cherry on top.
  530. >"What's that Angel Bunny? Are you hungry?"
  531. >He shook his head and started impatiently tapping his foot.
  532. >"Aw. Here. Let mama take care of-"
  533. "No."
  534.
  535. >The two of them looked at you.
  536. >Fluttershy in surprise, Angel in anger.
  537. >Like hell if you're letting Fluttershy spoil him today.
  538. "How do you expect us to make that?"
  539. >Angel points to the bags of groceries sitting on the counter.
  540. "We don't even have everything we need for that."
  541. >Angel points to the bits scattered around the kitchen.
  542. "I'm not wasting money so you can take one bite and throw it in Fluttershy's face."
  543. >He began repeatedly hitting the book, furiously point at the salad and demanding you to make it.
  544. >You couldn't help but notice Angel putting special emphasis on the cherry at the top.
  545. "You touch my cherries, I'm gonna stomp your li-"
  546. >You look at Fluttershy, growing increasingly worried.
  547. "Go get yourself a carrot or something."
  548. >He pouted and hopped up on the counter and dug through the bags.
  549. >You can feel your rage building when he pulls out a little paper bag with a cherry sticker on the front.
  550. --
  551. >He holds the bag high above his head, showing defiance towards you.
  552. "Son of a bitch..." you whisper under your breath.
  553. >His face contorts and he pulls out one of your cherries.
  554. >Damn those bunny ears.
  555. >"Angel," whispered Fluttershy. "Please don't."
  556. >He turns his head to the side, opens his mouth, and hangs the cherry over it.
  557. "Don't you fucking dare..."
  558. >You begin slowly taking steps towards him.
  559. >He cracks open one eye to see you slowly approaching.
  560. >He extends his tongue and begins to slide it over the cherry, seductively.
  561. "Mother fucker..."
  562. >You squint your eyes and try to stare into his soul like Fluttershy can.
  563. >It doesn't work.
  564. >He lowers the cherry into his mouth.
  565. >You aggressively take another step forwards.
  566. >He clamps his jaws shut.
  567. "That's it!"
  568.
  569. >You lunge at the offending rabbit.
  570. >You want blood.
  571. >"Anon! No! Wait!" pleaded Fluttershy.
  572. >Angel, foreseeing your inevitable rage, simply hopped up and jumped off your head.
  573. >You hit the counter and spun around to see him racing out of the kitchen.
  574. >You make a break for the kitchen door before Fluttershy grabs your legs and you hit the floor.
  575. >Instinctively, you threw your arms up to protect your face.
  576. >You don't need that getting busted again.
  577. >Hitting the floor like that didn't help your overall condition either.
  578. >Needless to say, it calmed you down very quickly.
  579. --
  580. >You bury your face in one arm and slam your fist into the floor with the other.
  581. "I really hate the rabbit," you say into the floor.
  582. >"He's not so bad once you get to know him," consoled Fluttershy.
  583. >That made no sense whatsoever.
  584. >She acts like the victim of spousal abuse when it comes to Angel.
  585. >No matter how bad it is, she loves him.
  586. >That's not a bad thing, per se, but there are limits.
  587. "I'm sure he's a swell guy," you say sarcastically.
  588. >Fluttershy releases your legs and gets off of you.
  589. >You push off the floor and slowly rise to your feet.
  590. "So," you brush yourself off. "Dinner plans?"
  591. >Please say rabbit stew...
  592. >Fluttershy shrugged.
  593. >"Do you want some more vegetable soup?"
  594. >With rabbit.
  595. "I suppose."
  596. >Fluttershy flew up and kissed you before moving over the the groceries on the counter.
  597. >You sigh.
  598. >Maybe next time.
  599. >You decide to help her prepare dinner.
  600. >Since you're the one with the great and powerful hands, you work the knife as Fluttershy  tosses you the vegetables and mixes them in the pot.
  601. >Cooking is always fun when you got a system or a game going.
  602. >Angel peeks in the kitchen, expecting an ambush.
  603. >Needless to say, he was surprised to see you calm and preparing dinner with Fluttershy.
  604. >He scowled and kicked a carrot that was sitting on the floor for some reason.
  605. --
  606. >You can see Angel out of the corner of your eye.
  607. >'Someone's mad', you think to yourself.
  608. >Your smile catches Fluttershy's eyes.
  609. >She doesn't know what you're smiling about, but seeing you happy makes her happy as well.
  610. >You taste your veggie concoction and determine that it could really use some beef.
  611. >But alas, then Fluttershy would be out of something to eat.
  612. >Unless she decides to-
  613. >Nah, fuck it.
  614. >Perhaps tomorrow night you can fry yourself up a giant porkchop or something if you get home early enough.
  615. >But from what you heard from the others, it's practically an all night thing.
  616. >And Canterlot is supposed to be a few hours train ride away.
  617. >You are NOT looking forward to tomorrow morning.
  618.
  619. >A simple dinner tonight is all you need to be content.
  620. >Tomorrow will be an extravagent evening.
  621. >You can spend the night with Fluttershy doing whatever she wants.
  622. >It's not like you know the castle grounds or the city proper.
  623. >She is sure to know the better sights and areas at the Gala.
  624. >Either her, or Rarity.
  625. >But Rarity wil probably be busy showing off her outfit.
  626. >Can't blame her much.
  627. >But if Fluttershy decides to go do her own thing, you're pretty much stuck in a crowd of prying pony eyes.
  628. >Rich and fancy ponies at that.
  629. >You wish Spike was going...
  630. >Then you'd have someone to hang out with should you get abandoned by the others.
  631. >Perhaps you can talk him into it tomorrow.
