- >You are Trixie.
- >No that’s wrong.
- >You are the great and powerful Trixie.
- >Yes that’s more accurate.
- >And you……well things could be going better.
- >You’re dragging your house along in the Everfree forest.
- >And you’re hungry.
- >And tired of walking.
- >But you had to get out of this forest.
- “Just a little bit farther until Ponyville. Then Trixie will show those simpletons a REAL magic show.”
- >If only you were as confident as you sounded.
- >You past trips there have been… not what you had hoped.
- >Well it’s certainly not your fault.
- >Those fools simply could not comprehend your talent.
- >Besides, they were all brain-washed by Twilight Sparkle.
- >Making you look like a fool in front of everyone again and again.
- >Ugh, that mare…
- >Just thinking of her riled you up.
- “Just you wait, Sparkle. I will show you, I’ll show everypony just how great and powerful I am. This new routine will showcase my raw talent and my greatness WILL be recognized.”
- >At least, that’s what you had hoped.
- >First thing’s first, get out of this forest.
- >Just keep walking, with any luck you’ll be out of here in no ti-
- *CRACK*
- >A sudden force jolts you to the ground.
- >You turn around a look at your carriage.
- >The wheel as fallen off because the axle had snapped.
- “Oh this is just great. Absolutely perfect…”
- >But this was nothing for you.
- >You were the GREAT and POWERFUL Trixie.
- >Certainly you could handle a simple repair.
- >You go to levitate the carriage.
- >Unfortunately, this was not going to work out so easily.
- >It’s heavy, and you’re exhausted.
- >You go to grab the wheel next, but you realize there’s no way to make it fit with a broke axle.
- >Drained, you set everything down.
- >This is bad, it’s getting dark and you’re stranded until you can fix this unless you leave everything.
- “This is the worst possible turn of events.”
- >There’s a howl of wolves, very close to where you are.
- >Ok, NOW it’s the worst possible turn of events…
- >Timberwolves were the absolute last thing you needed to deal with at this point.
- >You had nothing to defend yourself with.
- >You could try magic, but they didn’t scare off easily if at all.
- >At that moment you hear a rustling in the bushes.
- >Your heart is frantic, you’ll likely die of a heart attack before the wolves even get you.
- >Calm down girl!
- >You are TRIXIE.
- >And you will not show fear here to some gha-
- >The bushes in front of you begin to shake.
- >YOU CAN’T HANDLE THIS!
- >CELESTIA HELP YOU!
- >”Hello? Is someone there?”
- >Oh thank Celestia some stallion has discovered you!
- >But, that’s no excuse to start groveling for help.
- “Wh-wh-who goes there?! Show yourself to Trixie!”
- >”Oh thank God, I’ve been lost for days in this forest.”
- >The stallion steps through the bush.
- >They…are no stallion…
- >In fact they’re like nothing you’ve ever seen!
- >You gawk at this creature.
- >It stares blankly back at you.
- >It’s massive, even from a distance it’s far bigger than you, or just about anything you’ve ever seen for that matter.
- >…You would’ve just settled for timberwolves at this point…
- >”Uh...Ook this is getting weird, I know I heard a voice over here. Was that you by chance?”
- >You snap to.
- >The creature can talk, sounds like a male if you had to guess.
- >This could bode well for you, maybe you can talk your way out of this.
- “Who else would it have been you vile beast?”
- >Smooooothe.
- >He appears to be a little incensed by this.
- >”Wow, ok. One: rude. Two: Can you help me? I’ve been wandering this forest hopelessly for days.”
- >How rich, you were the one stranded yet this creature wanted your help?
- “As if Trixie is that gullible. You just want Trixie to lower her guard by pitying you.”
- >”Look this is just as bizarre for me, I have no idea what’s going on, let’s just try to-
- >He takes a step forward
- >”help each other out her-“
- “STAY BACK!”
- >You let loose a bolt of magic
- >The bolt strikes true, right in the beast’s face.
- >Let it never be said you couldn’t manage yourself.
- >That should incapacitate this thing, or at the very least scare him off
- >The smoke clears and he’s still standing.
- >Not a scratch on him.
- >…
- >WHY HAS CELESTIA FORSAKEN TRIXIE?!
- >You stare at him.
- >You’re trembling now, that probably only served to enrage him.
- >So this is how it ends…
- >”What in the HELL was that all about?!”
- >You’d retreat inside your house but from the looks of it this thing would probably tear it apart.
- >Suddenly, he takes a deep breath and….sighs?
- >”Alright look, I’m not sure what that was, but it doesn’t look like it did anything, so I’ll just pretend that didn’t happen. I just want some help, and from the looks of things you could use a hand too. Please, I don’t want to hurt you, I promise. I don’t know how much longer I can last out here.”
- >Maybe…maybe you should give this…whatever he is a chance.
- >He sounded sincere, and it’s not like you’re able to fight him anyway.
- “Fine, Trixie accepts your terms, but don’t think this makes us friends.”
- >"Fine, whatever, let's just cooperate enough that we can get out of here before we get any more visitors."
- >Oh right, the timberwolves
- >You'd be so distracted by your 'guest' that you had completely forgotten they were close.
- >So close, in fact, that they were right behind the tall creature standing in front of you.
- >...
- >Your eyes widen, and your mouth begins to open, but nothing comes out.
- >He doesn't even realize what's behind him.
- >He picks up on the fact that something is wrong.
- >"Oh there's something right behind me isn't there?..."
- >He slowly turns around and sees the two timberwolves crouched low right behind him.
- >The wolves begin to growl.
- >He steps very slowly back towards you.
- "Don't....make....any.....sudden....moves." you whisper as harshly as you can.
- >"Ya I guessed as much." he hisses back.
- >"Why don't you do that magic thing you did to me a moment ago? Maybe it'll work better on them."
- >True, you may be able to scare them off with magic.
- >Then another idea comes to mind.
- >A complex, yet ingenious plan that only a great mind such as yours could concoct.
- "Trixie has an idea. Don't. Move."
- >You charge your horn.
- >Focus...timing...
- >Suddenly you fling open the door to your carriage, run in screaming, and slam the door shut before anyone knows what happened.
- >Flawless as always.
- >Catching a few quick breaths, you peek out the window at the beasts, the tall one staring at your door, blinking a few times.
- >Obviously he's never seen such brilliance.
- >Even the wolves are confused, but that quickly changes as they set their eyes on their new target.
- >The creature sighs, and hangs his head.
- >Then lifts it high and begins to nod as he turns around.
- >He flexes his claws, and squeezes them tightly, loud cracking noises coming from them.
- >....Ew.
- >Is he...Is he honestly going to fight them?
- >He has no chance, he’ll be torn apart.
- >Something pangs slightly in your heart as you say this.
- >You can’t possibly have sympathy for some random creature you just met, can you?
- >You'll give him points for bravery if nothing else.
- >What's the old adage?
- >Better to go out like a manticore than lay like a lamb, or something.
- >You can still make out words through your thin walls.
- >"Ok, that's it. We're doing this."
- >You are Anon.
- >Interstellar explorer and basket weaver extraordinaire.
- >Or at least, that's the title you're going to adopt if you survive this.
- >You've been lost for days in this God-forsaken forest of which you had no idea how you even arrived at.
- >You thought maybe your luck was finally turning around when you heard the voice of a girl nearby.
- >You thought wrong.
- >'Trixie', as they designated themselves in third person at great length, was much less helpful than you'd hoped.
- >You'd deal with the talking....unicorn?... later, probably via pummeling, after you dealt with these mutts.
- >Of course, that was pretty big talk considering there were two of them to your one.
- >But you were so fed up at this point that this, if nothing else, would help you vent.
- >The one wolf is mere feet away from you, in striking distance.
- >You notice at this point that it's most definitely not made of flesh, but rather an amalgamation of sticks and maybe some stone.
- "You know, there's a saying where I come from. Sticks and stones may break my bones, but-"
- >You deliver a boot right under the chin of the wolf, shattering the head.
- >That was...satisfying.
- >You'd revel in this, except the other wolf was quick to pounce.
- >You bring your arms up in time to cast it off, sending it to the ground.
- >These things were definitely more scary than robust.
- >Feeling confident, you let the wolf make the next move.
- >It charges and leaps, but you dodge and tackle it to the ground.
- >You proceed to get your arms under its forelegs and clasp your hands behind its head into a full nelson.
- >You apply pressure, tightening all your muscles.
- >You’re rewarded with creaking and yelps from the wolf.
- “Just a little more…..snap, crackle, annnd-”
- *POP*
- >The sticks comprising the neck snap, and it falls to the ground in a heap.
- >You dust your hands off, and take a moment to bask how badass that was.
- >Typically you hate killing animals, especially wolves, but it was you or them.
- >That and they weren’t any wolves you were familiar with.
- >With them dealt with, you turn to the carriage.
- “You can come out now.”
- >There’s no response for a moment, then the door opens.
- >The unicorn peeks her head out, for a moment and glances around then steps out.
- >She’s just staring at you, her mouth opening but no words coming out.
- “Ok, so, now that that’s been dealt with, how about we come up with some sort of arrangement. You need your carriage fixed, and I need an escort. I believe I can get you up and running, at least to the nearest town, so how about we…”
- >She’s doing that thing again from last time where she gawked wide-eyed at something beyond you.
- >Which means…
- >You close your eyes.
- “You have got to be kidding me…”
- >You turn around and open your eyes, and are greeted another wolf.
- >Except twice as big.
- “OH COME ON. THIS IS GETTING RI-GOD-DAMN-DICULOUS.”
- >You might be in trouble now.
- >The wolf starts to run at you.
- >A bolt whips by your head and smacks the wolf in the face, causing a guttural yelp.
- >It paws at its face trying to put out the burning.
- >You turn to see smoke coming from the horn of Trixie.
- >You stare at her, not believing she actually stayed outside let alone did something useful.
- >”What? You thought Trixie was helpless?”
- “Kinda.”
- >She begins to say something, but quickly snaps her attention to the wolf.
- >”MOVE!”
- >You don’t even look and jump back, narrowly avoiding the huge beast.
- >It turns to Trixie, but you grab its tail to stop it.
- >Not liking this, it turns and swipes at you, gashing your arm with its front paw.
- >That one got you good, two pronounced cuts going the length of your forearm.
- >You’re in trouble.
- >Another series of bolts hit the wolf in the side, causing it to stagger.
- >This Trixie girl was more capable than you gave her credit.
- >But the wolf regained its composure quickly.
- >It bolted after her, so you made a B-line for her as well.
- >She stood petrified and the beast bore down on her.
- >You manage to dive and throw your shoulder into its side, cutting it off and tumbling it.
- >As you both rise to your feet/paws, the wolf shakes its head looks at you, growls, then rears up.
- >It comes crashing down on you, but you spread your feet and clash with it.
- >Pressing down on your harder, you had to act quickly before you collapsed.
- >You throw it down to the side, and immediately wrap your arms around its waist.
- >You spread your feet to give yourself a strong base.
- >Then, bringing all your energy to your hips, you heave the wolf overhead and slam into the ground
- >German suplexing a giant wolf.
- >You’re scratching that one off your bucket list.
- >This took everything out of you, however, gasping as you get back up.
- >The wolf was stunned, and slow to get up, but you doubt you did any permanent damage.
- >”Quick use this on it!”
- >You’re greeted by Trixie with a torch.
- >She tosses you it, and without thinking you plunge it into the head of the beast, right through the eye.
- >This results in a deafening howl, followed by more flames as the fire spreads throughout the body.
- >It shakes itself violently, literally to pieces in an effort to put the flames out.
- >Eventually burning embers are all that remain and you see a green wisp rise out of the pile and scurry off.
- >You sigh in relief, thankful it’s over.
- “Thanks for that, Trixie.”
- >She stares at you.
- >”H-How do you know Trixie’s name?!”
- >You give her the most dead pan look.
- “….Really?.....”
- >She blushes and turns away.
- >”Yes. Well. At any rate, Trixie supposes she should thank you as well, not that she isn’t capable of taking care of herself or needed your help.”
- “But of course you didn’t.”
- >You are Trixie.
- >You’re not sure of what you just saw, but you can scarcely believe it.
- >Whatever this thing was, it was incredibly strong.
- >You’ve never seen anything fight timberwolves like that.
- >It’s a good thing he doesn’t appear to want to hurt you.
- >You start thinking, and a brilliant idea comes to mind.
- “You said you needed help getting out of this forest correct?”
- >”That’d be great.”
- “There’s a town nearby. Trixie will lead you to the town, if you’ll agree to help fix her carriage and put on a show.”
- >”A show?”
- “Why yes, surely you’ve heard of the great and powerful Trixie!”
- >You cast fireworks above your head.
- >”I have now.”
- “Indeed, you become part of my act, put on a good show, the town idolizes me, and you can be on your way.”
- >He mulls it over.
- >”Hmmm....Ok, but one condition. Please stop using third person.”
- “Trixie does not- err Trix-…..Fine. -I- will not.”
- >He chuckles and extends a paw to you.
- >”Name’s Anon by the way.”
- >It’s then you see the gash on his foreleg, bleeding steadily.
- “You’re wounded bad. Wait here.”
- >You don’t know much healing magic, and it’s a moot point since he’s immune to magic it’d seem.
- >You find some cloth and alcohol.
- >Bringing it to him, you begin to dab the cuts and pour alcohol on them, causing him to wince.
- “Don’t be such a baby.”
- >Wrapping everything up, you admire your work.
- >”Thank you.”
- “Think nothing of it, can’t have my assistant in anything less than tip top shape.”
- >Anon walks over to your cart.
- >”Let’s see what we can do about this. If you can fix the axle, I’ll support the side and you can put the wheel on.”
- "What, you intend to just lift my house?"
- >"That's the plan."
- >Anon uses his other foreleg to grab the one corner of the carriage and he grunts.
- "There's absolutely no way even you can ju-"
- >Once again, you're shocked as he slowly it lifts up.
- “Amazing…” you mutter to yourself.
- >You grab the wheel, and match the broken portions together.
- >It’s a tricky cast, not having much practice with this type of spell, but sure enough it seems to hold.
- “That should do it, set it down.”
- >After letting it down, he shakes it a few times.
- >”Looks like that did it. Impressive.”
- “Pfft. Foal’s play.”
- >”It’s too dark to make it to the town now, we should probably just stay put until morning.”
- “Don’t tell me you’re scared of the dark.”
- >An owl hoots in the distance.
- >You shudder.
- “…On second thought, that’s a good idea. However, we depart first thing in the morning.”
- >”Good, cause I need some sleep and bad.”
- “Then I bid you good night.”
- >You adjourn to your house and clean up the mess.
- >Everything got disheveled when your cart tipped.
- >With that done you head to bed.
- >You’ll need plenty of sleep for tomorrow, as you plan your great come back.
- >This has actually turned out better than you expected.
- >You’re in possession of a new and powerful creature no one has ever seen before.
- >Not even Twilight will know what to do about this.
- >As you’re about to nod off, a thought occurs to you.
- “Blankets.”
- >You take an extra set and a spare pillow outside to Anon, who’s already passed out against your cart.
- >Can’t have him catching a cold, if he even can.
- >You cover him up as best you can, the blankets not meant for someone his size.
- >Returning to your bed, you lie down and doze off, excited for what tomorrow will bring
