- Alright, so, this is something I wrote. One day I was inspired by music, what’s written below moved through me. There is no actually story to follow on this. It’s just something that I feel I should post. Something to bring emotion, something to bring to the forefront of ‘what was’ in a moment in time.
- This is just an excuse to write.
- Feel free to email or contact me on Skype, I won’t mind one bit. (You know where to find my contact information, don’t be lazy.)
- Have a read, enjoy.
- ---
- >It’s been a little over half a century since you’ve been in Equestria.
- >Your hair has greyed.
- >You have made peace with the land you dwell in.
- >Abundance in wisdom.
- >You’ve loved and lost.
- >The term ‘horsefucker’ is worn with pride.
- >Currently, you’re walking back to your home in Manehatten.
- >You just got back from a funeral of the last living Element of Harmony: Honesty.
- >Applejack lived a good life, but alas, all good things come to an end.
- >You walked the paved streets in Manehatten, the light drizzle of rain coming from the lifeless grey sky.
- >It is without a doubt that today wasn't a pleasant one.
- >Your dress shoes have seen better days; you haven’t had new clothes since Rarity passed which was a decade ago.
- >Your left big toe in its dull white sock threatens to poke through the growing hole.
- >The sports jacket you have is barely hanging on by stubborn threads that refuse to give in.
- >It’s only a matter of minutes now.
- >The Samsung Galaxy in your left pocket of your black slacks stays active thanks to Twilight’s spell.
- >The brilliant unicorn made it so by using an eternal energy loop that keeps the phone at 100%.
- >Sadly, that’s all that’s left the clothes on your back and phone in your pocket that remains of the Elements of Magic and Generosity.
- >Other than to check the time, your phone is useless, it’s built-in speakers busted and the touch screen barely works.
- >Sugarcube Corner was converted into a popular coffee house that’s been spreading like wild fire all over Equestria.
- >The Cakes have passed, leaving the place in Pinkie’s hooves.
- >Pinkie had to buy out, she just couldn’t do it on her own despite putting up a good fight.
- >A smirk comes across your face from you remembering that there’s an old popped balloon in your right pocket.
- >Fishing for it, you pull it out and look down at the pink rubber that was once inflated by an Earth pony who brought joy to all that met her.
- >As long as there is laughter in this world, Pinkie will always be with you in spirit.
- >With a smile on your face, you shove it back into your pocket and keep with your stride.
- >A single tear runs down the left side of your cheek.
- >You really did love her at a point in time; things just didn’t quite work out.
- >Still, not a day goes by without you smiling at what was once shared.
- >One step after the next you get closer to your destination: Home.
- >Your steps short yet slowed from your aged flesh and bones.
- >The sound of your shows clopping against the pavement echo in your ears, drowning out the silence in the dull city.
- >Chariots carrying young stallions and mares to a lively spot.
- >A unicorn having a smoke just outside of a diner.
- >Times have changed, Equestria has become like that of Earth: Dark and full of war.
- >The wax of the candle of hope finally all melted down leaving no wic to set it ablaze again.
- >You were reminded of two pegasi that gave you a sense of hope.
- >Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash.
- >The best of friends who’s friendship truly stood the test of time.
- >From little fillies to old mares rocking in rocking chairs, knitting, their bond was /never/ broken.
- >Sure they’ve fought over stallions foolishly, even were on the opposite ends of each other on controversial issues.
- >But not once have they ever thought or uttered the words ‘I hate you’ to each other.
- >You pat your chest pocket and surely enough was a feather that belonged to Rainbow Dash.
- >It’s cyan blue gradually fading, but after getting it magically preserved it’s the only thing to remind you that loyalty is important in this journey called life.
- >What was also in that chest pocket was a folded sheet of paper written by Fluttershy.
- >It was only a note saying: Kindness is just a reminder that this world isn’t all bad.
- >Those were her dying words.
- >She had to write them considering she lost her voice.
- >She turned out to be a singer in her forties, thanks to you she managed to get over her shyness.
- >It’s a shame she never had fillies of her own though…
- >Before long, you arrive at your apartment, the majority of the brown paint chipped away.
- >Fishing for your keys in your right pocket, you grab them and shove them into the lock.
- >You had to jiggle the doorknob and turn.
- >Shortly after, you walk into your home, hearing the hinges make their creek.
- >The living room just ahead of you, with only a couch and coffee table.
- >You make a left, heading to the bedroom, feeling spent from the long walk.
- >Walking up to your dresser, looking at the attached mirror full of stick notes that keep you reminded of important things.
- >”Your name is Anonymous Unknown.”
- >”Did you turn off the stove?”
- >”Take your meds at three every afternoon, red bottle, blue cap, just two daily.”
- “Ugh, I know that,” you tell your past annoying self.
- >In a matter of minutes, you take everything out of your pockets and place them on the dresser.
- >You place your sports jacket on the back of a chair that’s sitting next to your dresser then reach for your old fashioned music player.
- >It was a gift from Applejack a long time ago; you play whatever was on the vinyl disc.
- >Out of memory of her of course, she was a good friend, so easy to talk to.
- >One of Fluttershy songs start to play, giving you a soothing moment.
- >Her voice was beautiful, calming, it brings peace in its wake.
- >After that you turn to your left and headed for the bathroom.
- >In mid-stride, you feel a sharp pain shooting from your chest.
- >You grunt in pain, your aching knees bent as you’re on crash course to the hardwood floor.
- >Your hands clutch your chest feeling the overwhelming agony.
- >Breathing calmly didn’t help.
- >Surely enough, you fall to the floor, making a loud, violent thud, shaking the ground that you land on.
- >Feeling the impact on your shoulder force you to yell.
- >You have reason to believe it’s either out of place or cracked now.
- >You also don’t have the money to get it fixed.
- >A fixed income is imprisoning at times.
- >The pain in your chest unbearable.
- >You’ve felt this pain before, a heart attack.
- >Well, they say the third time is the charm.
- >The song on the vinyl track player starts to skip on a verse thanks to the brutal bump on the ground.
- >”And the biiiirds begin to siiiing.”
- >”And the biiiirds begin to siiiing.”
- >”And the biiiirds begin to siiiing.”
- >It’s comforting to hear her voice.
- >Feeling a cold rush, you realize you’re on your way to the next life.
- >It was a good life here in Equestria.
- >You have no regrets in this life.
- >Your eye lids become heavy, shutting for the last time for this body.
- >Seeing the darkness before you, you smile a warm smile.
- “I suppose it is time to go.”
- >You take your last breath, tears in your eyes, flowing down with only joy.
- >It’s funny, even though you live alone, you feel like the Elements of Harmony are with you in the physical and spiritual sense.
- >And the phone begins to ring...
