- Life's a party, dig it (AnonXVinyl/Octavia-Clop)
- "Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance."
- "Woah there, bud. Where do you think you're going?"
- >You bar the door with a muscular arm, the stallion who you stopped looked at you, fear in his eyes and sweat on his brow.
- >"I... uh.... J-just going in... my f-friends are... in... there...."
- >You just give him a deadpan stare, before you cross your arms over your chest.
- "Maybe later, we're at capacity in there. End of the line."
- >The stallion takes a step back, his pupils shrinking to pin-points.
- >You just smiled and turned to the next pone in line as he all but galloped down the street.
- >It was a couple.
- >A purple stallion and a dark blue mare.
- >You eyed them, neither one really looked like the clubbing type, let alone the type that would enjoy Vinyl's beats.
- >But that last guy made you feel pretty good about your job.
- >You beckoned the two of them up to you, bending your knees so you were level with them.
- "Go'head in."
- >You straighten yourself up, their faces bright and smiling.
- >This job was rewarding as hell.
- >You feel a Pegasus attempt to fly into the club, over your head.
- >Using your lightning fast reflexes, honed from many hours of grabbing Pegasus who attempted just this.
- >This one was slower than most though, and you caught her around the neck with your arm.
- >"Leme go!"
- >You grab her under the chin, bringing her muzzle to your nose.
- "Never. Again."
- >With that, you throw her into the street.
- >You hear a crack as she landed on one of her wings wrong, the hollow bones breaking easily.
- >You mentally cringed at that.
- >That put you at 7 broken bone incidents since you started here.
- >Another 3 and you would be fired.
- >Shrugging, you turn back to the line and the Pegasus stands on shaking knees and limps off, tears streaming down her face.
- >The next group was three mares, pink, teal and white.
- >The three of then were regulars here.
- >You laughed at them before shaking your head.
- >Their smiles died instantly.
- >"Wha... you're not gonna let us in?"
- >You cross your arms over your chest and lift your chin into the air.
- "I dun' know.... Should I?"
- >Their smiles grew back across their faces.
- >Two of them walked around your sides, pressing their necks to your legs, looking up into your eyes.
- >The third stoop up on her hind legs and placed her hooves on your chest.
- >"Puh-leease let us in...."
- >She made a duck face and looked into your eyes.
- >You laughed, placing a finger on your cheek before bending down to their level.
- >The three of them kissed you on the cheek and pulled away, their faces red and giggles permeating the air.
- "Get in there you three. Next time, just walk up. You're regulars here now."
- >They smiled as they clopped inside.
- >Yeah.
- >You had the best job ever.
- >The night went by just as any other night.
- >Ponies attempted to get in, you stopped them.
- >You let groups in and sent others to the back of the line.
- >Eventually even this club shut down for the night.
- >You closed the double doors behind you, you had just forcibly removed a few ponies from the booth, one had been passed out.
- >You turned the lock and cracked your neck, stretching your arms above your head.
- >Vinyl was sitting at the bar, nursing a drink, while the bartender, Splash, was cleaning the last of the glasses.
- "Yo, Splash. Make some bits tonight?"
- >As always, your words brightened her mood.
- >You thought she had a thing for you, but never acted on it.
- >Friend-zoned.
- >"Yeah, tonight was a good night. Got me around 200 bits in tips."
- >You hold out a fist and she brofists you.
- >Feels good man.
- >Vinyl has just been staring into her glass of cider.
- >You stand behind her and drape your arms over her front hooves, head against her cheek.
- "W'is wrong, babe?"
- >You chuckles at you before she runs a hoof along your cheek, turning her head slightly and giving you a kiss on the cheek.
- >"Nothing, just tired is all."
- >You place a hand under her muzzle and turn her head more, planting a kiss on her, oh so soft, lips.
- >You break the kiss, a line of spit trailing, and she smiles.
- >"Tavi wanted ta speak with you."
- >You knew this was coming.
- >Broken bones came out of your nightly wages.
- >Oh well.
- >That's what happens when you try to sneak into a club.
- "Alright, cya back at our place."
- >She nods, as you walk towards Octavia's office.
- >You knock once before entering, Octavia is sitting behind her desk, papers everywhere.
- >As always, classical music is playing lightly in the background.
- >She never really did get into any of the music Vinyl played, but she opened the club anyways.
- >She even still performed for the Princess on occasion.
- "You wanted to see me Tavi?"
- >She scribbles a few things on a ledger before turning to face you.
- >"Anon... another one?"
- "Yeah, she tried to fly in over my head so I threw her out just like everyone else, but Pegasus wings are hollow."
- >Octavia just sighed, shaking her head.
- >"Well.... Just so long as you know, you're paying for it again."
- >You just nod, anything else will just get her riled up.
- >"Please try not to do it again...."
- "I'll try. Vinyl didn't look too hot, so I'm gonna take her home. See you there?"
- >"Yeah, just gotta finish up the paperwork here, then I'll see you there."
- >You walk around the desk and plant a kiss on her lips.
- >These ponies will be the death of you, but damn you love them.
- >She blushed at your attentions and you can't help but smile.
- >"Mon dieu! Anon please...."
- >There it was again.
- >You can't help but laugh at her, she tended to revert to french when she was excited.
- >You rustle her mane and leave her office, leaving her stammering and blushing.
- >You make your way over to Vinyl, her drink finished, and pick her up and wrap her in a hug, kissing her neck.
- "Come'on, let's head home."
- >Vinyl 'eeps' when you pick her up, but composes herself quickly, smiling at you.
- >"Yeah. Let's go home."
- >She turns her head and kisses you again, you place her over your shoulders, front hooves over one shoulder, hind legs over the other.
- >Together, you leave the club, shutting the doors behind you with a click.
- >You take a deep breath in the crisp morning air, Celestia's sun was just starting to rise.
- >Vinyl put on her signature glasses, and you shrugged your shoulders, repositioning the mare as you headed off into the sunrise.
- >You stopped outside the door to your apartment, Vinyl magicking the lock from outside.
- >You opened the door, making sure to duck so Vinyl didn't hit her perfect little head.
- >Once inside, Vinyl hopped down off your shoulders and you fell to the extra large couch in a pile.
- >Vinyl smiled at you before climbing up and resting on your lap, her head on your chest.
- >You looked into her glasses, your reflection staring back at you, smiling.
- >Vinyl's breathing started to even out, her breaths becoming long and slow.
- >Her breath smelled of Cinnamon.
- >Her breathing lulled you to sleep, wrapping your arms around her.
- >Before you knew it, you were asleep.
- >Octavia came home an hour later, opening the door with the key she kept hidden away, and locking it behind her.
- >She shut the door behind her; kicking it into place, the locks snapping shut.
- >As she made her way through the small apartment, she saw the two of you, curled up on the couch asleep.
- >With a smile and a laugh she threw her saddlebag on the ground and climbed onto the couch with you.
- >She climbed onto your shoulders, falling down with a sigh, her head on your chest next to Vinyl's.
- >You shifted in your sleep, repositioning her as she soon feel asleep with the two of you.
- >Working nights was a very tiring business.
- >Luckily, tomorrow was a night off for the three of you.
- >Plenty of time to hang out and do a whole bunch of nothing.
- >You slept peacefully, your dreams protected by the two ponies you loved more than anything.
