Ooh! Maybe you can help, Nonny!" Pinkie grins at you and you can't help but agree. >"I've got pretty much all I need at your house. Food, drink, and wubs," Vinyl says with a smirk. "Wubs?" >"Yeah! Y'know, wubwub wubs, like dubstep and stuff." You have no idea what she just said, so you ignore that comment. "Well, whatever. Vinyl, you can hang out here as long as you don't break anything. I have nothing better to do, so I'm going to go help Pinkie." >"Yaaay! We're gonna have so much fun!" Pinkie bounces up and down gleefully. >"Have fun, I guess." Vinyl lays back down on the couch and pops in some earbuds. It seems like she never goes anywhere without some music.   >After arriving at Sugarcube Corner, you're greeted warmly by a happy couple. >"Heya! This is Anon. Anon, this is Mr. and Mrs. Cake!" Pinkie introduces you to the couple. >"It's wonderful to meet you," says Mrs. Cake. "The pleasure is mine." >"So, uh, Pinkie, what's he doing here? Is he a customer?" Mr. Cake asks. >"No, not today. Today he's gonna help me in the kitchen!" She's obviously excited by the fact. >"Oh that's delightful! We can always use an extra pair of hooves," Mrs. Cake comments. "Well, off you go! There are quite a bit of orders today, so you picked the perfect day to help out." >The Cakes busy themselves up with work around the shop as Pinkie directs you to the kitchen. "This is where the magic happens!" "Can you show me where things are?" >She grins and zips off to different cabinets. "Well, here's where we keep the pots and pans, this is where the spices are, this is where the sugars and flour are, and this is..."   >You breathe a sigh of relief as the last order of the day is finally completed. You glance outside through a window and it surprised you how late it became. When you were with Pinkie, time flew by. Well, you know how the saying goes... >"Wow, time flies when you're having fun, doesn't it, Nonny?" "Sure does." >You're covered with flour and sugar. You never actually realized how fast Pinkie can take orders until you were working alongside her. It was actually pretty interesting to see her handle multiple dishes at once. She had some real talent. >"Ready to go home?" Pinkie asks. "Sure. Say, where do you live?" >"At Sugarcube Corner, silly! You better get going before it gets too dark!" "Yeah. See you, Pinkie." >"Wait! Take some cupcakes! Think of it as payment!" "Oh. Thank you, Pinkie." >You head out and start walking home to your house. When you arrive, you almost drop the bag of cupcakes as you stare at your house, all the windows shattered or cracked. "VIIINYLLL!"   >Rushing inside the house, you slam the door. You were absolutely furious. "VINYL!" >"Sorry, sorry, sorry!" She flinches as you suddenly step toward her. "What the HELL did you DO?" >"I was being stupid, okay? I decided to bring my turntables over to your place and practice my mixing! Well, everything was cool, but the speakers were too quiet. I saw this volume setting I'd never tried, which was 15, and so I thought that it would be a reasonable volume!" Vinyl was obviously flustered and ashamed of what she did, but you pressed further. "Okay, and what volume number do your speakers max out on?" >Vinyl grimaced and sat in silence before she finally mumbled out, "...15." >You hold your head in your hands, trying not to get physical. "Why wouldn't you try that at your own home?" >She glances around. "Uh... Tavi said that I can't practice there anymore. Or, at least not when she's home. Y'know, cello stuff." "And so you brought your equipment here?" >"Yeah... Listen, Anon, I can pay for the damage..." "No shit."   >She visibly cringes at this comment, and speaks up again. "The only problem is that the new club won't hire me, and I quit my old job because I was positive I'd get hired at the new place." "So... you have no money?" >"Pretty much," Vinyl sighed. You place a hand on her and direct her to the sofa. You then motion for her to sit down. "Okay. I'd like to know why you can't just go and reapply for your old job." >Vinyl blushes and looks rather embarrassed. "The thing is, I kinda called my old boss a dipshit." "You WHAT?!" >"BUT HE WAS! Anyways... He's probably not going to hire me again after that." She scratched her head in thought. "You could always become a DJ for hire." >"R-really? They have those?" She looks surprised, which you thought was odd. "Uh, yeah. Haven't you been hired for big jobs before?" >"Actually, I can see why you'd think that, but no. Tavi pays for stuff mostly. She's a lot more successful than I am," she says, hiding her face. "Wait, so you know how to work turntables, and your name is Vinyl fucking Scratch, but you can't get a DJ job?" >"I can't mix songs, okay?!" You look at her with a dumbfounded stare. How can she not mix records? You thought that she was the DJ the first time you met her at the club! "I can't believe you haven't mixed before. We need to get you that job so you can pay for my repairs, but first, we're going to get you started on mixing." >"Thanks, Anon. Don't tell anyone, please." >You mentally make note of that and save it for later. You may need it...   >"I'm sorry for the damage, Anon. If you need to, you can stay at my place until it's fixed." "I assume your place is...?" >"Also Tavi's, yeah." "I'm in. You need to get a job though, I'd like for my house to be fixed soon." >You sigh as you hear thunder in the distance. "Oh no, my equipment! We need to get this back to my place! Anon!" Vinyl looks at you with the biggest puppy dog eyes she could manage. "Fine." >"Yay! Thank you so much!" She smiles and starts to haul her speakers. You grab her turntables, and they were surprisingly light. >As you walk to Octavia's house, you can see the ground beginning to get soaked. "Hurry!" You speed up and hope you don't get Vinyl's stuff soaked. >Eventually it's pouring all around you, which was extremely odd. You stayed dry the entire way to Octavia's house. As you put the turntables into the house, you walk back outside and look at the sky. >"Hey Anon!" Dash says, holding a cloud open. It made a small hole in the pouring rain. "Hey! Thanks Dash." >"No problem!" She grins at you and dashed off as you enter Octavia's house. "Honey, I'm hooome!" >Vinyl cracks up at this, and then starts making kissing noises. "Go make out with your marefriend, Anon. I don't care."
