  12.
  13. Q: How do I delete a character?
  14. A: Go to your Starbound Steam folder (\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound), delete the corresponding file from '\player'. You can usually tell by the timestamp.
  15.
  16. Q: How do I add more songs to play with my instrument?
  17. A: Go to the songs folder in your Starbound Steam folder (\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\assets\songs), and add .abc files to it.
  18.
  19. Q: Where can I get .abc files?
  20. A: Here are two great sites with loads of songs: http://www.thefatlute.eu/ http://www.lotro-abc.com/
  21.
  22. Q: Great, now where the fuck do I find an instrument?
  23. A: You can find them randomly in chests.
  24.
  25. Q: Where can I find tech?
  26. A: Tech can be found in random chests or purchased from some merchants.
  27.
  28. Q: How do I use tech?
  29. A: To equip your Tech, put it in your hand and click on your character, enabling you to use it. From there you're able to access the ship's Tech Station, and equip any discovered Tech.
  30.
  31. Q: I don't have enough storage space!
  32. A: Lab lockers. Lots of them. You can also find random chests on the surface of many planets.
  33.
  34. Q: How do you edit your ship's background?
  35. A: Right-click, the wall is removable like anywhere else.
  36.
  37. Q: How do I dye stuff?
  38. A: Make dyes from petals and use them on clothing.
  39.
  40. Q: How do I get creatures as pets?
  41. A: Make a creature capture station on the robotics station and make creature balls in it. Use them on creatures. They don't disappear when you leave, so you can keep them as pets in your home or take them with you. They also can't die permanently.
  42.
  43. Q: What's the distress beacon?
  44. A: First tier boss. Don't try him right away. Find a good weapon and make good armor first, and it'll be easy. Be sure to place it on natural ground and press E on it.
  45.
  46. Q: How can I explore more planets, do I need to get past the first boss?
  47. A: Nope, you can explore whenever you want. Just place some coal (you can turn wood logs into it) into your fuel tank (the panel next to the cockpit seat) and find a new planet to explore.
  48.
  49. Q: Game crashes!!
  50. A: Are you on XP? Try running renaming starbound_opengl.exe to starbound.exe, running in admin mode, verifying the cache, deleting your universe files, etc. If all else fails, well, it's early beta.
