- facts about whitetail deers
- -they dont only live in the forest but they are often forced to because of civilisation
- -when they want to warn others they stamp on the ground
- -when there is danger they raise their tail
- -they scratch themself on the head with their hind legs
- -they usually stay in the same are for all their life
- -they can jump 2,5 meters high
- -they dont have upper front teeth but bite with the lower front teeth and their jaw
- -they can see very good at twilight but not that good at day
- -when dazzled they get very confused and sometimes stare into the light for minutes
- -during the rut male deer rub their antlers against trees and bushes to mark them with scents
- -they do wheezing sounds for cummunication
- -they do pair grooming
- -when the groth of the antlers is complete the velvet gets itchy and the scrub it off
- -laying back ears can be a sign of challenging someone
- -females fight too with their frontlegs
- -there are albino deers
- -they dont protect their children when there is danger
- -they are quite clever compared to other hooved animals
- -during fights their a front hoof can get stuck in their own antlers
