  1. >The sun is climbing the sky as you drive home.
  2. >What a shift. You're exhausted.
  3. >She'll be getting ready for work when you get there.
  4. >You were surprised that the bakery said yes to it. But it turns out the kids loved her. Everyone lover her. How could they not? And she was a pro in the kitchen.
  5. >But none loved her like you do.
  6. >You press the accelerator down, wanting to be back, needing to see her smile.
  7. >You pull up and hop out of the car but you realize how exhausted you are and drag yourself to the door.
  8. >"ANON!" the pink pony screams and jumps in the air, her legs a blur as she tries to gain traction in mid-jump.
  9. >"There was this bird hanging around the bushes and it was zipping around here and there and all over the place and so I thought 'Oh, it's a humming bird!' so I tried to hum one of my Pinky songs but he left in a hurry so I think that he had somewhere to go. Then I thought 'It must be having breakfast in the bushes like me but I'm not having breakfast in the bushes, I'm having breakfast here!'"
  10. >You don't try to keep up, just let Pinkie's thousand mile an hour narrative wash over you. Her energy is infectious and you start to pick up steam.
  11. >She guides you to the small breakfast nook where she has a stack of pancakes and muffins out on the small table.
  12. >"I got it all ready for when you got here! Doesn't it look yummy!?" She carocols to look back at you.
  13. >The stress from the night before melts away as you realize how much this hyper pink pony cares about you.
  14. >You go to kneel to embrace her but instead, like a spring, she jumps into your arms and wraps her front legs around your neck.
  15. >You bury your face in her neck, her mane smelling of cotton candy.
  16. >She's so warm and soft, you never want to let her go.
  17. >She giggles in her high pitch voice, pleased with how the morning's surprise went.
  18. >You realize you would do anything for the wonderful pony you hold in your arms and start thinking of what you will do to show her you care.
  19. >An idea strikes and a new strain of giddiness seizes you.
  20. >You can't wait to see her face when you tell her. But not yet.
  21. >"Anon" she giggles "I think the pancakes are feeling lonely."
  22. >You laugh and set her down.
  23. >You walk over to the table, starving for the delicious spread, the aroma making your stomach growl.
  24. >"Pinkie knew just what you'd need." She sidles up to you as you sit down.
  25. >Thinking of the work she did to do this for you, you lift her face up to yours and kiss her forehead. She lets out a giggle and pushes her face up to yours.
  26. >Your lips meet and warmth spreads over you, the pancakes forgotten for another few moments.
  27. >A few weeks have passed since the breakfast surprise.
  28. >Not much has changed.
  29. >The warm feeling of contentment is as strong as the first day you met her.
  30. >When you actually get to spend the night in bed, you wake to find her in a different place each morning.
  31. >Pinkie moves and thinks in mysterious ways.
  32. >Sometimes she is curled up at the foot of the bed.
  33. >Other times she is pressed tightly against you.
  34. >There was that one time you woke up and found somehow she'd curled up at the top of the bed and your head was resting on her soft belly.
  35. >It was the best night's sleep you'd ever had.
  36. >No matter where morning found her, you still look at her and have to repress the urge to grab her into your arms and squeeze her.
  37. >But now, you've made plans and today is the day of your adventure.
  38. >You've wracked up vacation days from your job and you're going to blow them all like chips at the Vegas strip.
  39. >This morning, she is draped across your feet.
  40. >This is going to be a challenge.
  41. >Your feet are hot from her body heat.
  42. >Her breaths come in deep unhurried pulls.
  43. >With extreme care, you extract one foot.
  44. >She give a surprised snore and you think the game is up.
  45. >But Pinkie could sleep through a orbital nuclear strike.
  46. >A smile curls her lips and she mutters something.
  47. >Even in her dreams she's happy. It amazes you how any creature can be so content.
  48. >Hoping your luck can be duplicated, you slide your other foot out from under her.
  49. >The air quickly saps her warmth out of your feet and you can't suppress a small shiver.
  50. >Time to get to work.
  51. >You get the picnic basket out of one closet and the blanket from the linen closet.
  52. >You had made the cupcakes the other day while she was at work and hid the majority of them, leaving a few out knowing that she'd smell them.
  53. >You put those in the basket, along with brownies, cookies, and other treats you'd stashed around your apartment.
  54. >You look at your watch. In a few more minutes you'd be waking up Pinkie and starting off your adventure.
  55. >"Hey Pinkie Twinkie" you whisper in her ear.
  56. >"Hmm, wha... I was just about to put the sheep in the washing machine" she says, her voice still heavy with sleep.
  57. >"We gotta be off" you explain.
  58. >"Off?" she rubs the sleep from her eyes. "Anon, I was off and then you woke me up." She rolls onto her back and kicks her hooves in the air.
  59. >"It's time for an adventure my little Pinkie twinkie" you say, rubbing her exposed tummy.
  60. >She squeals in delight, kicking her hooves faster.
  61. >Her belly is soft and warm, her pink fur tickles your palms.
  62. >You lean over her and plant a kiss on her snout.
  63. >She wriggles about on the sheets, her face scrunched in a grin.
  64. >"What kind of adventure are we going on, Anon?" she asks, rolling onto her stomach.
  65. >You give her a big smile. "The best kind."
  66. >You load the stuff into the car pretty quickly. A thermos of cocoa and one of coffee.
  67. >You know a mochacino is somewhere in the future.
  68. >At that point Pinkie would be a nuclear furnace of effervescent happiness and pep.
  69. >You've got a few hours in the car.
  70. >Fields sweep by, painted gold, orange, and marigold by the swelling sun.
  71. >Pinkie sits by you, gushing words, singing, pointing out all the little details you don't notice as you keep focused on the road.
  72. >"So when are the cookies for?" she asks, casting her glance into the backseat where you piled your supplies.
  73. >Looking ahead, you think.
  74. >You explain she needs to hold on for just a bit longer.
  75. >She shrugs and goes back to excitedly talking.
  76. >Your face hurts from the smile that has taken up residence on your face.
  77. >One of the side effects of prolonged Pinkie exposure.
  78. >You tease her about the Children of the Corn as you pass through the corridor cut through the center of the seemingly endless sea.
  79. >She isn't familiar with the story so you explain it to her.
  80. >You tell her it was a movie and that you should watch it together sometime. Especially the bad sequels. Those are incredibly fun.
  81. >She asks you to tell her other fun horror movies you could watch and snuggle up with.
  82. >She yelps and giggles as you give your most frightening descriptions of movies you've seen.
  83. >The rest of the trip passes as you joke and laugh back and forth about everything and anything.
  84. >Eventually, you come to an off ramp that leads to a small side road.
  85. >In the distance you see them, giant round shapes of ornate patterns.
  86. >You look over and see Pinkie staring at them with a massive setting her eyes glittering.
  87. >Your heart swells and you head toward your destination.
  88. >You both gaze up the hot air balloons.
  89. >Half a dozen puff up in the center of the huge clearing like an outcrop of giant mushrooms.
  90. >You park the car near a small wood sided building covered in posters of hot air balloons.
  91. >Before you can get out, Pinkie is jumping in circles, cheering.
  92. >The look of excitement on her face sends your heart into flutters.
  93. >Suddenly she barrels toward you.
  94. >You brace for impact but you can't withstand the battering ram of happiness.
  95. >You land in a heap.
  96. >Pinkie is rubbing her forehead under your chin, gleefully thanking you.
  97. >"Breakfast in a hot air balloon! A sky breakfast! Oh my goodness! Breakfast in the clouds! Oh my goodness!"
  98. >You go to get up but she knocks you back down, not yet done with thanking you.
  99. >Your laughing yourself. A few people look at you and your excited companion but you're too high off Pinkie's joy to pay much notice.
  100. >Finally you manage to stem Pinkie's appreciation long enough to get up.
  101. >You tell her to get the stuff out of the car and you'll be back in a minute after you let the guide know you're here and ready to get airborne.
  102. >Pinkie heads to the car but twists away and embraces you.
  103. >Her heart pounds through her chest.
  104. >She pulls back, looking at you with those sky blue eyes.
  105. >It looks like she's about to say something but instead she turns and heads to the car as you go into the small hut.
  106. >The burners roar above your heads and the ropes fall away.
  107. >The balloon rises into the sky.
  108. >"Bye bye earth! See you in a little while!" Pinkie shouts.
  109. >You both stand at the railing of the balloon's gondola, waving down, saying your farewells as you climb further.
  110. >"Alright! Breakfast time!" you call.
  111. >"Woohoo!" Pinkie exclaims enthusiastically.
  112. >"Eaten yet?" Pinkie asks the balloon operator.
  113. >He responds hesitantly that he has but when plied, he takes a brownie square and eats it with a smile.
  114. >Pinkie's happiness spreads to anyone and everyone around her.
  115. >You lean against the rail, breathing in the cool air that floats by on wings of light.
  116. >Looking down, the ground is a patchwork of fields, some of them, like the one you just drove through, are huge. Then there are small green and brown ones stitched in.
  117. >"I think I see a turtle!" you say, pointing at a cloud.
  118. >"OO, oo! It's a bear!" Pinkie says and waves a hoof at another.
  119. >"A fish!" you return.
  120. >"A goose playing a baby grand piano!"
  121. >You look but don't see it but Pinkie sees it and the world feels a little more magical for her unique way of looking at it.
  122. >You wonder what it would be like to take the balloon into space and the planets you could visit with it.
  123. >Could you reach the end of the universe in the bright balloon?
  124. >At that moment, no place on earth or anywhere else in the universe could be as wonderful to you as that little gondola with a Pinkie Pie.
  125. >After an hour and a half, the balloon operator tells you he has to take her down.
  126. >"Did you hear that ground? We're coming back! Told you we would!" Pinkie calls out.
  127. >You wrap your arm around Pinkie's shoulder as the balloon sinks back.
  128. >She rests her head on your shoulder as you stroke her.
  129. >"Anon, thanks," she says in a near whisper. This was such a wonderful surprise. I'm so happy we could do this. I could just spend the whole day up here with you. You're my best friend and..."
  130. >She buries her face in your shoulder.
  131. >The balloon reaches the ground faster than you thought it would.
  132. >It lands with a little shudder.
  133. >"One second" you say and hop out.
  134. >You run to the hut and make arrangements then run back.
  135. >"I wonder if that goose will play us a tune if we go back to visit him," you say, giving Pinkie a mischievous smile.
  136. >Pinkie's eyes go wide, her smile spreading dimpling her cheeks.
  137. >"I love you Anon!"
