  1. >The two titans of sun and moon fought ferociously, heated by the thrill of battle
  2. >Both fought fiercely, but soon the sun titan had the moon titan pinned and delivered a final blow
  3. >"Thbbbbbt!"
  4. >Raspberries
  5. >Even a god couldn't handle their sheer power
  6. >"Anoooooooooon!"
  7. >The indigo little filly gallops over to you
  8. >"Tia isn't being fair!"
  9. >You sigh and stand up from your comfortable lawn chair, deciding that's enough interal narration for the time being
  10. >"I was just playing!"
  11. >Celestia follows closely behind, pouting in protest
  12. "Now now, hold on. What isn't fair?"
  13. >"She's bigger than me an' wins too easily!"
  14. >Luna plops down and the grass and tries her best to pout harder than Celestia
  15. >Two fillies pouting at you at once wasn't be good for your blood levels
  16. "Well then...what do you suggest we do?"
  17. >Luna and Celestia both look at each other and ponder this for a moment
  18. >Finally Luna looks at the ground
  19. >"I 'unno. I'm kinda hungry though..."
  20. "Lunchtime?"
  21. >The two both nod energetically
  22. >You open the door and they run inside the house
  23. >You, on the other hand, pause before going in
  24. >It's been a few weeks since Luna showed up on your doorstep the same way manner Celestia did
  25.
  26. >At first, you couldn't beleive what you were seeing
  27. >Luna on your doorstep one year after Celestia
  28. >You, of course, took her in
  29. >She was significantly smaller than Celestia, maybe even the same age as her when she first arrived
  30. >Like with Celestia, went over the basics of how the world works
  31. >But this time, Celestia was there with you to mentor her little sister
  32. >Explaining to her what it meant to have a sister was something else entirely
  33. >"What?! She's...not going to replace me, is she?"
  34. >You wave your hands wildly as Luna hides behind your leg
  35. "No! No! Think of her as an adopted sister."
  36. >Celestia was familier with the concept of adoption, but...
  37. >"What's a sister?"
  38. >You pause, taking a moment to find the words to best describe this concept of sisterhood
  39. "Shoot...um...It's when you've got someone who shares the same mom and dad with you."
  40. >Celestia looks completely distraught
  41. >"I have to share you?"
  42. >You laugh and wave your hands again
  43. "Don't worry, there's plenty of me to go around. In fact, why don't you two get to know each other? Go on, say hi!"
  44. >You push Luna over to Celestia
  45. >Luna looks up meekly and blushes
  46. >"H-hi..."
  47. >"Hello."
  48. >Celestia blinks. This was the first time she had ever met or interacted with another pony
  49. >She was used to people by now because of her check ups for her braces, but her own species was different story entirely
  50. >She raised a hoof and booped Luna's nose, prompting the reciever of said boop to giggle
  51. >"That tickles!"
  52. >Celestia smiled and booped her again
  53. >These two would get along just fine
  54.
  55. >Today, Celestia gets her braces off
  56. >"Anon, the seatbelt feels funny!"
  57. >You decided to bring Luna along for the car ride, but you're starting to question if that was really such a good idea
  58. >You make sure the seatbelt is nice and tight around Luna, giving it a quick tug just to be sure
  59. "I know, but we have to wear it to keep us safe."
  60. >Luna doesn't seem to like it one bit. In fact, she starts pushing her head through the open end to put it around her back
  61. "Hey! No! You have to wear it just like everybody else."
  62. >You retighten the seatbelt and climb into the driver's seat
  63. "Make sure she doesn't take it off, alright Tia?"
  64. >Celestia gives you a little salute from the back seat
  65. >"Yessir!"
  66. >Luna pokes her tongue out at Celestia in defiance
  67. >Another thought occurs to as you drive to Celestia's appointment
  68. >This will be Luna's first time interacting with people
  69. >When you arrive, you kill the ignition and open the door for the fillies
  70. "We're here!"
  71. >Celestia jumps out nervously
  72. >"I've had them for so long...I don't know what it'll be like without them."
  73. >You laugh and pat her head
  74. "Be thankful! Most humans have them for years and you only got yours for less than a year. It completely baffles me."
  75. >Luna jumps out of the car and looks up at you
  76. >"What does baffle mean?"
  77. >Celestia clears her throat
  78. >"Baffle means to surprise or confuse."
  79. >"I asked Anon, not you..."
  80. "Hey, hey, hey! Break it up you two. This is a happy day! Celestia gets her braces off and maybe we can get some icecream later."
  81. >They both nod, Luna obviously refraining from asking what icecream is
  82. >Celestia gulps as you all step inside
  83.
  84. >"Anon, Anon! That one looks like you! Except he's uglier. Ooh! Ooh! And that one has bumps coming out of its chest!"
  85. >It's times like this you wish you had a roll of duct tape
  86. "Yes...those are humans, just like me."
  87. >From the corner of your eye, you catch a lady whispering to another sitting next to her
  88. >"...and now he's got two of them? What has this world come to?"
  89. >You breifly make eye contact with her before she quickly looks away, flustered
  90. >As you and Luna take a seat and Celestia goes to the back, a women walks in with her daughter
  91. >"Mommy, I'm scared...I don't want braces! What if they hurt?"
  92. >"Shh, sweetie. You'll be fine."
  93. >Unconvinced, the little girl looks away from her mother and her eyes find their way onto Luna
  94. >Instantly, her face lights up and she runs over and gives Luna a hug
  95. >"A PONY!"
  96. >Luna, on the other hand...hoof? looks completely terrified. She stares at you in panic
  97. >"A-A-Anon?!"
  98. >"Megan! Come back here!"
  99. >The mother swiflty prys her daughter off Luna and smiles sheepishly at you
  100. >"I'm really sorry about that, sometimes I feel like I have to keep her on a leesh. Kids! Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em."
  101. >You smile reassuringly
  102. "Nah, it's alright. Luna gives me a bit of trouble herself sometimes."
  103. >"Oh? Is that the name of your..."
  104. >Her sentance falls short when she lays eyes on Luna
  105. >"H-how..."
  106. >You merely shrug
  107. "I'm still trying to figure it out, myself."
  108. >The dentist calls Megan and she gets up to leave
  109. >"Bye bye pony!"
  110. >You look down at Luna, who's quivering a bit
  111. "You alright?"
  112. >"I-I think I like home more..."
  113.
  114. >Megan comes out before Celestia with her new braces
  115. >"Theeth bratheth feel funny..."
  116. >Her mother places a hand on her head and smiles
  117. >"Come on, let's go home."
  118. >She smiles at you warmly
  119. >"Thank you for that. You've made my daughter's time here a little bit more bearable."
  120. >You shake your head
  121. "I didn't do anything. Luna here did all of the work for me."
  122. >Luna slaps your leg
  123. >The mother and her daughter leave the building and you wait for a few more minutes before realizing something
  124. >You forgot to tell them not to mention Luna to anyone else
  125. >If the entire town found out...
  126. >You spring out of your seat which gets a curious look from Luna
  127. ">Anon?"
  128. "Stay here!"
  129. >You run outside, hoping the two of them haven't gone yet, but it's pointless looking
  130. >They're nowhere to be found
  131. >Shit
  132. >That's going to have reprrcussions later
  133. >You go back inside just as Celestia emerges from the back, giving a wide, bracesless grin
  134. "Alright, alright. I promised you guys icecream didn't I?"
  135. >She nods
  136. "Let's go get some icecream."
  137.
  138. >You pay the guy working at the vendor and walk back to where Celestia and Luna are, safely out of sight
  139. >Unfortunatly they only had vanilla, but such is life
  140. >Celestia levitates the icecream out of your hands
  141. >Luna, noticing the trick, tries to do the same but her magic flickers and implodes
  142. >She sheepishly holds out her hooves for the icecream and you place it in them
  143. >She licks said icecream and blinks once, then shivers
  144. >"Brrrrr! It's cold!"
  145. >She carefully takes another small lick, as if in an attempt to negate the effects of the cold, but to no avail
  146. >Then, an idea strikes you
  147. "Hey you two, follow me."
  148. >Celestia and Luna look at each other, shrug, and canter after you
  149. >Your breif journey takes you up a hill to a single tree sitting at the top
  150. >You lay underneath it and lick your icecream
  151. "Let's do some cloud watching!"
  152. >Luna looks puzzled
  153. >"But...why would we watch the clouds? Aren't they fine on their own?"
  154. >Celestia giggles and wipes some icecream off her sister's nose
  155. >"No, we stare at the shapes of the clouds and try to imagine them as different things!"
  156. >She lays on her back next to you
  157. >"See, that one looks like a bird!"
  158. >Luna curiously trots over and lays in a similar manner to your other side
  159. "That one looks like a pony."
  160. >"Yeah!"
  161. >"It does."
  162. >After your icecream is finished, you take advantage of the oppurtunity of them laying on their backs and start to rub their tummies
  163. >Celestia giggles while Luna completely relaxes, and even kicks he hooves in bliss
  164. >The breeze is so gentle, you just might fall asleep
  165. >You fight it for a little while longer before going home for the day
  166.
  167. >You come home from work
  168. >It's pretty much the same formula at this point but with Luna throw into the equestion
  169. >Upon entering your domain, you immediatly notice that Luna has added her own work of art to the mural
  170. >Good for her
  171. >A flash of red and orange flies in front of you, followed by a sqwauk
  172. "Oh. Hey Philomena."
  173. >She perches on your shoulder before flying over to Celestia and perching on her
  174. >As Celestia and Luna aproach you, neither of them appear to be very happy
  175. >Uh oh
  176. >Celestia drops the bomb first
  177. >"Anon, who do you love more? Me or Luna?"
  178. >SHIT
  179. >You were not prepared for this
  180. "Uh...welll..."
  181. >"Because I've been with you longer, but Luna says she's younger and cuter."
  182. >Celestia gives you the biggest pout you've ever seen from her
  183. >"Is she cuter than me...?"
  184. "UH. WELL YOU SEE..."
  185. >You take a deep breath to calm yourself and kick off your shoes
  186. >Holy shit taking your shoes off after a long day felt good
  187. >"I don't love you both because of how cute you are, though you guys ARE rediculously cute. I love you guys because of who you are."
  188. >Luna pipes up, eager for an answer, but still too shy to speak at full volume
  189. >"So...which one of us do you love more?"
  190. "I love you both euqally. If something happened to either of you, I'd be equally distraught."
  191. >"Oh..."
  192. >Luna stares at the ground, but Celestia at least seems to be happy with this answer
  193. "Now come on, let's get some dinner. You two are probably hungry."
  194. >They both respond in unison
  195. >"Okay Anon."
  196.
  197. >It's the middle of the day
  198. >You're at work, sitting at your desk and typing away when your boss approaches you
  199. >"Look, Anon...Can we talk?"
  200. >You pull yourself away from your work and give your boss your undevided attention
  201. "Yeah, sure. What's up?"
  202. >"It's just that...shit Anon, there's no easy way to say this. We've fallen on hard times lately and need to lay off some people."
  203. >You feel your stomach lurch and all of your senses go numb. Your boss continues, but his words are distant and far away
  204. >"...Don't get me wrong, you're an excellent worker, but we don't have enough resources to keep everyone paid and..."
  205. >He continues for a few more minutes before wrapping up his speech
  206. >"You understand, right?"
  207. "Hm? What? Oh...yeah. Sure. I'll clear my stuff."
  208. >Your movements and stiff and robotic, as if your brain has gone on autopilot
  209. >You take all of your personal belongings, place them in the back of you car and begin the long drive home
  210. >A thought strikes you as you drive
  211. >You weren't going to be able to take care of Celestia and Luna now
  212. >It was bad enough not being able to feed yourself, but now you couldn't even feed them
  213. >Your eyes start to water, but you hold it back to safely get home
  214. >Shit, what were you going to tell them?
  215. >You park the car and walk slowly to the door, opening it carefully as it could explode at even the slightest movement
  216. >Celestia and Luna look up from coloring together and look at you curiously
  217. >"Anon, you're back early. How was work?"
  218. >Fuck
  219. >You can't take it anymore
  220. >You fall to your knees and being to sob uncontrollably
  221. "I got fired! Now I can't get anymore money to buy things like food and clothes and I won't be able to take care of you anymore!"
  222. >The full weight of the situation hits them harder than a brick in that moment
  223. >They gallop over to your side and hug you. Celestia sniffles while Luna wails loudly
  224. >You all embrace in your shared sadness
  225. >You don't know what to do
  226.
  227. >You hear rapid knocks on your doorstep
  228. >When you don't answer right away, the knocks incrase in vigor
  229. "Alright, alright! I'm coming!"
  230. >You silently pray to every god you can think of that it isn't your landlord collecting rent early
  231. >You cautiously turn the handle and open the door
  232. >Standing at the door is something far worse
  233. >A crowd of people (mostly adults but there's some kids as well) stands at your door
  234. >"Excuse me, but I heard from a friend of a friend that you're storing illegal creatures here?"
  235. >Her tone is only mock polite. She sounds snotty and arrogant
  236. >You step outside and close the door
  237. "Well, you can't believe every rumor you hear."
  238. >The lady scoffs
  239. >"Oh, Sue would never lie about stuff like this. It's too juicy."
  240. >What a disgusting person. Interferring with someone's personal life is fun?
  241. >And then she has the audacity to call those fillies "creatures"
  242. >What a fucking bitch
  243. >"Anyway, do you mind if we look in your house just to see if this is true or not?"
  244. "What? No you can't come inside my damn house! Geez, what's wrong with you people?"
  245. >Just then you hear the door creak from behind you
  246. >Oh god no
  247. >Luna pokes her head out
  248. >"Anon? What's wrong?"
  249. >Shit shit FUCK!
  250. "LUNA GET INSIDE RIGHT NOW."
  251. >She flinches and quickly closes the door
  252. >"THERE! That's all the proof we need!"
  253. >You place yourself firmly in front of the doorstep the ponies arrived on
  254. >They would have to kill you before you let them get their grubby hands on the fillies
  255. >But with the looks they were giving you, they just might
  256.
  257. >A big guy walks up to you
  258. >Like, this guy is fucking RIPPED
  259. >"If there's any monsters in your house, we need to get rid of them to protect the town."
  260. >You shake a little bit, but him calling those angels monsters is unforgivable
  261. "They're just little girls! I've had one for a year now and she hasn't done anything!"
  262. >"She hasn't done anything YET. How do we know she won't in the future?"
  263. >You clench your teeth and ball up your fists
  264. "Don't talk about Tia that way. Both of them are kinder and more caring than anyone standing here will ever be."
  265. >"Well then..."
  266. >The man grabs you and starts to push you aside
  267. >"Why don't we see them for ourselves?"
  268. >Everyone in the crowd agrees angrily
  269. "No, please! Stop! They're just children!"
  270. >A single woman's voice screams from the crowd
  271. >"STOP!"
  272. >The crowd goes silent as the woman you met at the dentist pushes her way through the crowd with her daughter
  273. >"I've met one of them before. She was very sweet and helped my daughter get through a really tough time. I know I would be devestated if something happened to my daughter, but please..."
  274. >She takes a deep breath
  275. >"Please don't do anything that would hurt those under his care."
  276. >There's some murmuring among the crowd, and Megan steps up to you gingerly
  277. >"Can...can I see the little pony again? Please...?"
  278. >You take a deep breath. This decision here will either make or destroy you
  279. "Alright..."
  280. >You open the door and beckon for Luna and Celestia
  281. >The two cauttiosly walk out and go wide eyed at all of the people, who gasp in turn
  282. "Say hello, you two."
  283. "H-hello..."
  284. >Celestia manages a greeting, but all Luna can do is squeak
  285. >Megan walks over to Luna and gives her a softer hug
  286. >"I'm sorry I scared you before."
  287. >The crowd sheepishly begins to disperse and you flop over out of exhaustion
  288. >You still have more time with them
  289.
  290. >You wake up later than normal
  291. >For a brief moment you panic, thinking you had forgotten to set your alarm clock for work
  292. >Oh. Right...
  293. >You pull yourself out of bed, trudge downstairs, and make some breakfast
  294. >Once breakfast is ready, you go upstairs to wake the two sisters, but only Celestia is there
  295. >"G'mornin' Anon..."
  296. "Hey, did Luna get up early?"
  297. >She rubs her eyes with her hooves
  298. >"What? Um...I think I heard movement in the house earlier..."
  299. >You begin your search
  300. "Lunaaaaa!"
  301. >No response
  302. "LUNAAAAA?"
  303. >Panic creeps into your voice when a response isn't given
  304. >Those neighbors yesterday couldn't have...
  305. >Oh
  306. >OH NO
  307. >You throw on some clothes and sprint outside
  308. "LUNAAAAA! Luna where are you?!"
  309. >Celestia follows you with a worried look on her face
  310. >"Anon, what's wrong?"
  311. "I can't find Luna anywhere! Can you help me look?"
  312. >Celestia nods, all business and flies off
  313. >Your search takes you to a nearby woods
  314. >You're not sure why, but you have a gut feeling to start there
  315. "Luna...?"
  316. >From not too far away, you hear some sniffling
  317. >Upon further inspection, you find Luna curled up on a tree stump and crying
  318. "LUNA!"
  319. >You dash over to her and wrap her in a tight hug
  320. "Don't scare me like that!"
  321. >She sniffles and wipes an eye
  322. >You sit down next to her, ready to listen
  323.
  324. >"I...After you lost your job, and then those angry people showed up yesterday...I-I thought..."
  325. >She trails off
  326. "You thought what...?"
  327. >You're almost scared to hear the answer
  328. >"I thought that maybe you'd be happier without me...So I tried running away..."
  329. >Oh for the love of...
  330. >You hug her again
  331. "No! In fact, running away did the complete opposite!"
  332. >"I-I'm sorry..."
  333. >You sigh and release her
  334. "I get what you were trying to do, but I love you too much to send you out on your own. Any challenge that comes, we'll face together."
  335. >"B-b-but what about the food? If I left, you and Tia would have more to eat. And those people weren't happy with you! Because of me..."
  336. >You furrow your brow
  337. "Stop. Stop that."
  338. >"S-stop what?"
  339. "Stop treating yourself like you're any less important than the rest of us. Because you're wonderful, even if you don't see it yourself."
  340. >She frowns and looks at the ground, not really believing in self-worth
  341. "I thought you were worthless, I would have left you on that doorstep. But I didn't, did I? No. Here you are."
  342. >Luna is doing her very best to avoid eye contact
  343. >You decide to change that
  344. >You place a hand on her head
  345. "Hey. Look at me."
  346. >She reluctantly does so
  347. "Even if you don't beleive yourself, can you at least try to beleive me?"
  348. >She bites her lower lip before slowly nodding
  349. >"...Okay."
  350. >You pick her up and start to walk home just as Celestia flies over
  351. >"You found her!"
  352. "Yeah, I just needed to afirm some things with her. C'mon, let's go home."
  353. >All the way home, Luna is clinging to your neck as if you were life support
  354. >Which in a sense, you were
  355.
  356. >More knocking at the door
  357. >You've come to hate knocking after what happened recently
  358. >You grudgingly get up from your comfortable position on the couch and walk over to the door
  359. >The person there, surprises you greatly
  360. >"Hello again Anon."
  361. >It's your ex-boss
  362. >"So...I heard about what happened. I'm terribly sorry, I didn't know you were raising a family."
  363. >You fight every urge to punch this guy. You didn't want his sentiments, you wanted your job back
  364. >Your restraint rewards you heavily
  365. >"So here's my offer: Would you like your job back?"
  366. >Wait...what?
  367. "Yeah. Sure."
  368. >"Alright, see you Monday then?"
  369. >You nod and your boss turns around and leaves
  370. >You close and sit against the door
  371. >Luna and Celestia are watching you curiously
  372. "Well girls, looks like I'll be able to take care of you a little longer."
  373. >They both squeel with joy and tacklehug you
  374. >It seems that everything is going alright for the first time in a long time
  375. >http://youtu.be/l1RaRi9TIPs [Embed]
  376.
  377. >You decide enough is enough
  378. >The presence of the fillies needs to be addressed
  379. >With the permission of the mayor you gather everyone in the town and stand on a podium so you have their attention
  380. >You even bring the fillies with you to illustrate your point
  381. >Tensions are high in the crowd as no one loses the signifigance of your actions. There's not even a murmur
  382. "A little over a year ago, Celestia arrived on my doorstep."
  383. >Celestia steps forward and waves
  384. "I'm not sure where she came from, but my time with her has been pleasant. She's been something of a daughter to me, even if her species hasn't been seen before."
  385. >From the crowd, you spot Megan and her mother
  386. >You keep going
  387. "Then, Luna arrived on my doorstep in a similar fashion. So I did what I thought was right and raised them. But people..."
  388. >You pause to drink some water
  389. "People fear what they don't understand, and I understand you all are afraid of these two. I could beg and plead for you to not mention them to anyone for fear they get taken away, but in the end it's your choice."
  390. >You look everyone in the crowd in the eye
  391. >The shift uncomfortably as you do so
  392. >Perfect. You've got them right where you want them
  393. "So, will you call the government to my doorstep and take them away from me? Take them from their father figure? Or will you try to accept us as one of your own?"
  394. >There's a long pause. No one says anything for the longest time
  395. >Celestia levitates the microphone down to herself delicatly
  396. >"If it means anything, I love Anon very much."
  397. >Megan is the first to speak
  398. >"And I love the ponies. They make me happy."
  399. >Megan's opinion seems to be more than enough. Slowly but surely, everyone in the crowd nods or mumbles agreements
  400. >Even the bitchy lady seems to approve of them staying
  401. >Before long, the crowd is cheering at the presence of their new village members
  402. >A wave of releif washes over you
  403. >You don't have to hide them anyone
  404.
  405. >It's winter again
  406. >Deciding to be on top of things this year, you made some custom knit sweaters for the girls
  407. >A pink one for Celestia, and a light blue one for Luna
  408. >You gave the sweaters to them as a Christmas gift, and they wore them everywhere around the house
  409. As for their Christmas gift to you, it was some pieces of artwork they had been working on out of your sight
  410. >You didn't expect them to get you anything, so it was very thoughtful of them to do so
  411. >Cue New Year's Eve
  412. >You decide to make this year's end a little more exciting than the previous and pick up some party materials
  413. >These include, but are not limited to, cheese and crackers, sparkling grape juice, and party hats
  414. >The little hats looked adorable on them, you notice
  415. >Luna chooses to pig out on the cheese and crackers while Celesita seems content to watch the festivities on TV
  416. >You notice, however, that the sparkling grape juice tastes a little funny
  417. >You turn it around to read the label and
  418. >Oh shit
  419. >You accidentally got actual wine
  420. >You nervously look at the two sisters, who have had a couple cups already
  421. >"Heyyyyy Anonnnnn! I feel like I can flyyyyy!"
  422. >Celestia hiccups and giggles
  423. "Celestia, you CAN fly."
  424. >"Oh...right. Hee hee HIC!"
  425. "How are you feeling Luna? ...Luna?"
  426. >Luna is passed out on the floor
  427. >Shit, they're both drunk
  428. >The poor fillies were going to have a hell of a headache the next day
  429. >You decided to prepare for that. They were going to need lots of water, a quiet environment, and maybe some coffee
  430. >"Happy new yearrrrr!"
  431. >Celestia's words come out slurred and she trips and falls on her face, giggling afterwards
  432. "Let's...let's get you two to bed."
  433. >You carry the two limp fillies upstairs and place them in your bed
  434. >You could deal with sleeping on the couch tonight
  435. >After all, you were the one who let them drink alcohol you dumbass
  436.
  437. >"UGH...Anon, my head hurts really baaaaad..."
  438. >The two fillies crawl into the kitchen
  439. >You hand them both a large cup of water and a smaller cup of coffee
  440. "Here, drink these. They'll help."
  441. >They take them dutifully and gulp down the water, then sip at the coffee
  442. >Celestia makes a face in disgust when she tastes said coffee, but Luna's eyes get really wide
  443. >"This stuff is really good! What is it?"
  444. >"Ow...not so loud..."
  445. "It's coffee. It should give you energ-"
  446. >"Can I have more?"
  447. >What
  448. >Holy fuck
  449. >Luna has the entire cup emptied
  450. "No. One cup of coffee should be enough for you."
  451. >"Awww..."
  452. "Now wait here, I need to grab something real quick."
  453. >You turn around and start digging through the cabinets for some fruit
  454. >You don't expect it to do much, but it should negate the effects of the alcohol a little
  455. "Alright, I've got the-LUNA!"
  456. >Luna gives you a look from the countertop that shows she knows she's busted
  457. >She finishes the rest of the coffee off anyway
  458. "HEY!"
  459. >You grab the kettle from out of her hooves, but it's too late. There isn't a drop left
  460. >Well...fuck
  461. >"Wow Anon, I feel great! I've never felt so great in my life! Do you feel great? Because I feel great. We should go running! Ooh! Ooh! Or go to the park! Wouldn't that be fun?!"
  462. >"AAAAARGH!"
  463. >Celestia levitates a pillow and smacks Luna with it
  464. >"BE QUIET!"
  465. "How about this? I'll take Luna to the park, and you can rest here? Is that okay?"
  466. >In response, Celestia runs to the bathroom
  467. >Well then
  468. "Time to go Miss Loony."
  469. >"Okay Anon! This is going to be SO MUCH fun!"
  470. >Oh boy
  471.
  472. >Luna must've spent hours running around and expelling her energy
  473. >But the bigger they come, the harder they fall
  474. >As if she had an off switch or something, she crashed HARD
  475. >You carry her back home and make a mental note to self to hide the coffee from her
  476. >Philomena sits next to Celestia who lays sprawled out over the couch
  477. "Feeling better?"
  478. >"A little..."
  479. >The rest of the day passes quietly with Luna sleeping peacefully and Celestia soaking up the silence
  480. >Moments of silence with the fillies were few and far between, do you decide to sit and savour it with them
  481. >You all agree to go to sleep early that night
  482. >You especially need the rest
  483. >You DO have work tomorrow after all
  484.
  485. "Come on you two!"
  486. >Celestia shivers and her entire body protests as she trudges out through the cold
  487. >Luna isn't looking that great either, she seems to have a higher tolerance for cold at least
  488. >It's below freezing, so you can't really blame them. You hate the cold too
  489. "Alright, we're here!"
  490. >The two fillies gasp
  491. >"Th...the lake is a giant ice cube!"
  492. "Yep. Frozen solid. Here!"
  493. >You give the sisters 4 small ice skates each
  494. >It takes a little bit of effort to get them on, but eventually they're all primed and ready to go
  495. "Alright, careful now."
  496. >The two gingerly step onto the ice, instantly becoming wibbly wobbly in the legs
  497. >You're reminded of that one scene from Bambi
  498. >Celestia falls on her rump and Luna falls on her face
  499. >After falling over a few more times, they both create a strategy for how to best handle the ice
  500. >Celestia chose to gradually increase her skill until she felt comfortable skating at higher speeds
  501. >Luna chose to cling to you for dear life
  502. >You're content to skating by Luna's side. If she doesn't want to venture out on her own, that's fine
  503. >You match your pace to hers and the two of you make laps around the lake
  504. >Meanwhile Celestia is tearing up the ice in the middle
  505. >Literally
  506. >You begin to hear some cracking coming from the middle
  507. >Your instinct takes over and you make your way quickly to the center, pushing Celestia out of harm
  508. >CRACK
  509. >Shit
  510. >SPLASH
  511. >You're under the ice
  512.
  513. >You try and find your way to the surface, but you can't spot the hole you fell through anywhere
  514. >You desperatly bang a fist against the ice as if that would break it, but to no avail
  515. >From the atop the ice you see Luna and Celestia screaming and pounding away the barrier
  516. >Your energy starts to fade as the cold seeps into every inch of your body
  517. >You need oxygen, but the precious air is just out of reach
  518. >So this is how you die huh?
  519. >You close your eyes
  520. >The muffled sound of cracking grabs your attention
  521. >You open your eyes to see a giant rock headed towards you
  522. >You swim out of the way and through the the hole that the rock created
  523. >A gasp is emitted from your mouth, filling your lungs with sweet air
  524. >The air actually tastes sweet
  525. >Huh
  526. >You feel your body being lifted from the water and placed on the ice, then you're wrapped in two small, but tight hugs
  527. >"Anon! I thought we'd lost you!"
  528. >You cough and sputter to get your words out
  529. "What...what was that?"
  530. >Luna's crying makes her incoherent
  531. >Celestia is sniffling a little bit, but you can understand her
  532. >"W-we combined our magic and broke the ice so you could get out."
  533. >Of course. The boulder
  534. >You nod in understanding and shiver
  535. "Th-thank you."
  536. >Luna finally gets a sentence out
  537. >"Let's go home..."
  538. >You stagger to your feet and make your way back to your house
  539. >The two wrap you up in a warm blanket and give you some hot chocolate by the fireplace
  540. >You chuckle quietly to yourself
  541. >These two fillies saved your life
  542.
  543. >"Anon, why were there hearts everywhere at the store today?"
  544. >You kill the ignition of your car
  545. "Well, today is Valentine's Day."
  546. >Luna tilts her head
  547. >"What does that mean?"
  548. "Valentine's Day is a day where you can spend time with someone you love."
  549. >"Oh! Like me and Tia?"
  550. >You laugh and scratch your head
  551. "Not...quite. There's different types of love. There's caring for someone a lot, and then there's wanting to kiss them."
  552. >Luna nods in understanding
  553. "So on a day like today, you can spend time with your special someone...or in your case, special somepony if you have one."
  554. >Luna considers this and rubs her chin
  555. >"...Do you have a special somepony?"
  556. >You sigh and stare at the steering wheel
  557. "No...no, I don't."
  558. >You smile and wave a hand
  559. "But that's fine. I'll be fine."
  560. >You help Luna out of the car walk into the house
  561. >You found it a little odd that Luna would want to come with you in public considering how much more introverted she was compared to Celestia
  562. >It appears that she's become far more attatched to you and wants to go with you everywhere
  563. >Upon entering the house, she dashes over Celestia and begins whispering
  564. >You find that a little bit odd, but shrug it off
  565. >What could possibly go wrong?
  566.
  567. >The doorbell rings
  568. >At least it isn't knocking
  569. >You open the door and see Megan's mother standing there
  570. "Uh...hey."
  571. >"Hi."
  572. >You both stand there awkwardly for a brief moment
  573. "Oh, I uh, never got your name."
  574. >"Lara. My name's Lara. So...I got your card."
  575. >Wait
  576. >Wait what
  577. >"That was very sweet of you. Thank you."
  578. >WAT
  579. >[Sweating Intensifies]
  580. "O-oh. Um...I di-"
  581. >"Do you mind if I come in?"
  582. >You blink and nod
  583. "Yeah, sure."
  584. >What CARD? You didn't send her anything. The only others who could send something from your house were...
  585. >Oh
  586. >Oh, they were in SO much trouble
  587. >You offer Lara a seat
  588. >"After my boyfriend got me pregnant, he ran as far as he could. I wanted to wait until we were married but..."
  589. >Her sentence falls short and she gulps, reliving this obviously being very hard for her
  590. >And you hearing it also being hard
  591. "Listen, you don't have to-"
  592. >She cuts you off again
  593. >"No. No, I want to tell you. Even though her father was, pardon my French, an asshole, I still loved Megan."
  594. >She takes a deep breath
  595. >"I saw how much you loved your daughters even though they weren't related to you, and I thought that was really cool."
  596. >Your heart flutters a bit
  597. >"And then you sent that card...so I just wanted to know if maybe...you'd like to..."
  598. >She blushes heavily and smiles sheepishly
  599. >"Go on a date sometime...?"
  600. >You glance over at Luna and Celestia giggling from behind a corner and playfully glare at them
  601. >They shrug
  602. >You turn your attention back to Lara
  603. "Yeah...I'd like that."
  604.
  605. >After what happened with ice skating, it took some convincing to get Luna and Celestia back outside for another activity
  606. >You promised that this one was much safer, and even invited Lara and Megan to come with
  607. >Megan was positively thrilled and the prospect of sledding with ponies
  608. "Alright, here we are!"
  609. >You stop at the hill you all rested under during the Summer
  610. "Here's how it works: You go to the top of the hill, sit down on the sled, and slide your way down!"
  611. >Celestia looks skeptical
  612. >"That doesn't sound very safe..."
  613. >Megan gives a big grin to her
  614. >"Oh no, sledding is lots of fun! Here, I'll show you!"
  615. >She takes the sled from Lara and begins her trek up the hill
  616. >Despite the sled being nearly twice her size, she successfuly makes it up and mounts it
  617. >With a push, she accelerates down the hill and lets out of joyful squeal
  618. >The two sisters glance at each other, seem to approve and levitate out the sled you brought
  619. >You and Lara are content to talking to one another while the kids sled, but you make sure you always keep on eye on them, just in case
  620. >Megan breifly gives up her sled so Celestia and Luna can race
  621. >In return, they both let her slide down with her
  622. >It's cute as all hell to watch them all play together
  623. >"There must be so many little girls right now who would kill to be in Megan's spot. I have to thank you again. Just by hanging out with us, you're making a tough spot in our lives much easier."
  624. >You casually dismiss it with a wave of you hand
  625. "It's no big deal, really. You guys are always welcome."
  626. >"Thanks. I really appreciate that."
  627. >The two parties enjoy themselves for the rest of the day until the sun starts to dip below the horizon
  628. "Alright girls, time to head home!"
  629. >"Come on Megan! Let's go!"
  630. >They all look disapointed, but you assure them that there will be other opportunities to play with each other again
  631. >Luna, introvertedness and all, even seems to have taken a shine to her new friend
  632. >"Promise?"
  633. "I promise."
  634.
  635. >The date of the date
  636. >Romance was never your specialty, so you were afraid you'd mess something up
  637. >Lara invited you to her house, claiming it was only fair since she'd been in yours
  638. >You both even decided to double it as a play date for Megan and the sisters
  639. >The three run off to play together while you and Lara take opposite sides on the table
  640. >Your conversation begins normally enough, talking about your jobs, the girls, life, etc.
  641. >Then you start to notice some strange oddities
  642. "Nice candles. Where'd you get them?"
  643. >"Huh? What candles?"
  644. >She looks at the table with a perplexed expression
  645. >"That's...odd. I don't remember those being there."
  646. >Then the lights dim
  647. >"Ugh, a power outage now? Of all times? I'm really sorry about this."
  648. >You simply smile
  649. "No, it's alright. I understand."
  650. >Click
  651. >Smooth jazz fills the room
  652. >Wait what WHAT
  653. >You and Lara both blush awkwardly at each other
  654. >"Uh...um...I-I didn't..."
  655. >Then Celestia, Luna, and Megan all walk out dressed in fancy attire
  656. >A single piece of toast is placed in front of both of you
  657. >"Your dinner, sir."
  658. >Charming
  659. "Alright, alright, that's enough. What's going on here?"
  660. >You stand up suddenly, obviously not too pleased by the turn of events
  661. >The lights come back on and the music ends abruptly
  662. >The girls look at each other desperately. They apparently hadn't planned this far
  663. "Well?"
  664.
  665. >Celestia steps forward
  666. >"W-we wanted your first date to be romantic."
  667. >Luna and Megan both nod rapidly
  668. >You sigh and rub your forehead
  669. "That's all very sweet of you...but why?"
  670. >Megan steps forward
  671. >"Well...we saw how happy you two were together, and we really like each other so..."
  672. >Much to your surprise, it's Luna who drops the bomb
  673. >"We were hoping we could all become family..."
  674. >That catches you a little off gaurd
  675. >You glance to Lara, who seems to be just as flushed as you are, then back to the girls
  676. "Listen...love isn't something that can be forced. It comes natrually. So even if we did or didn't love each other, a romantic candlelight dinner wouldn't really change that."
  677. >"...So, do you two love each other natrually?"
  678. >Oh shit
  679. >Um...
  680. >"I-I don't know if Anon does, but I certainly do."
  681. "Lara?!"
  682. >She looks like she's about to die of embarasment
  683. >"Y-you're always so kind and thoughtful, and you keep putting others before yourself. I find it really admirable."
  684. >All eyes are on you, awaiting a response
  685. >None comes out
  686. >NO! Don't choke now! If you can't do it for yourself, at least do it for the girls!
  687. "I think the same about you. Glad to see the feeling's mutual."
  688. >The entire room gives a sigh of releif and you both take your seats at the table again
  689. >You laugh and look to the girls
  690. "Toast? Really?"
  691. >"Hey, give us a break! We don't know how to cook!"
  692. >You shrug and munch away at the toast
  693. >It's the thought that counts, you suppose
  694.
  695. >Nudge nudge
  696. >Ugh, what? Who's waking you up?
  697. >Poomf
  698. >Something jumps on your bed
  699. >"Good morning Anon!"
  700. >You rub your eyes and see Celestia and Luna holding a metal tray of srambled eggs, toast, and a glass of orange juice
  701. >You smile warmly
  702. "Wow, what's the occassion?"
  703. >"It's Father's Day! We wanted to do something special for you!"
  704. >Your heart!
  705. "That's very sweet of you. Thank you."
  706. >You begin to eat your breakfast in bed as the two do a little victory dance out the door
  707. >You take a quick shower and throw on your bathrobe and make your way downstairs
  708. >"Anon, take a seat at the table!"
  709. >You do so, and they place a tiny, poorly wrapped box in front of you
  710. >You stare at it, bewildered
  711. "What's this...?"
  712. >"Open it!"
  713. >You gingerly unwrap the box and remove an metal necklace from it
  714. >The necklace as a sun on one side, and a moon on the other
  715. >"We shovelled some driveways and pooled our money to get it for you!"
  716. >They're both grinning, awaiting your aproval
  717. >You start to tear up
  718. "I don't deserve you two..."
  719. >Their expressions quickly change to somber
  720. >They walk over and hug you
  721. >Luna smiles up at you
  722. >"We know how much you love us, so we just wanted to show you how much we love you back!"
  723. >You hug them both and smile, happy tears flowing freely
  724. "Thank you...Thank you both."
  725.
  726. >You set some books down in front of Celestia and Luna
  727. >"What are these?"
  728. "Books on princess etiquette and tips for running a successful monarchy!"
  729. >They both groan and roll over
  730. "Hey, don't give me that. If you really want to be princesses one day as you said, you've gotta study!"
  731. >Celestia levitates a book over and stares it, then flips it open
  732. >Luna, however, seems less inclined
  733. >"Studying is boooooring!"
  734. "Don't you want to use magic and fly like your big sister?"
  735. >She pouts at you, but you seem to have given her the inspiration she needed
  736. >You know those books contain neither of that sort of thing, but it'll at least make her look
  737. >"Here Luna, I can help teach you!"
  738. >Your work being done, you decide to leave the room for a bit
  739. >Not too long after, Luna appears literally out of nowhere
  740. >"Hi Anon!"
  741. "AAAAAAAAAAH!"
  742. >You fall backwards
  743. >"I learned how to tele...telp..."
  744. "Teleport?"
  745. >"Yeah!"
  746. "...How?"
  747. >She pauses, considering this
  748. >"I 'unno!"
  749. "Well then...keep...doing what you're doing."
  750. >"Okay!"
  751. >She flaps her wings rapidly, which only lift her rump and she hovers away
  752. >You hoped that didn't become a problem later
  753.
  754. >It's springtime, but with that comes...
  755. >CRACK
  756. >Thunder splits the sky and rain starts to pour
  757. >Celestia walks up next to you
  758. >"So I take it we won't be able to play outside today."
  759. >You scratch the back of your head
  760. "No, I guess not. ...Hey, I've got an idea! Go get Luna."
  761. >It isn't long before the entire family is gathered
  762. >"Anon? What's that?"
  763. "Behold..."
  764. >You place the box on the floor
  765. "Monopoly! You play by getting money and making the other players go bankrupt!"
  766. >The two sisters grin at each other
  767. >"Alright, let's play."
  768. >Not long into the game you, lean back
  769. "Crap..."
  770. >It had been a while since you played, but you didn't think you'd be the first one out
  771. >Luna sticks her tongue out at you
  772. >"Sorry Anon, it's just business."
  773. >Yikes. Maybe they were growing up a little too quickly
  774. >Celestia is pretty evenly matching her sister, but Luna is getting cocky with her brief victory and making mistakes
  775. >All it takes is a few more slip ups and...
  776. >"Victory!"
  777. >Luna angrily flips the gameboard and storms away
  778. "Sheesh. I can't tell which raincloud is darker: The one outside or the one over Luna's head?"
  779. >Celestia shrugs and runs after her
  780. >"Come back! We can play again! Or a different game!"
  781. >Luna hesitantly returns to the living room
  782. >You're suddenly glad Luna doesn't play videogames. You don't know if her little body could handle the rage
  783. >You laugh at yourself. Gamer Luna? What a silly thought
  784. "Alright, round two!"
  785.
  786. >You're dreaming
  787. >Yet in your dream, you hear a voice
  788. >"Hello Anon, you've done a good job so far."
  789. "Done a good job on what?"
  790. >The voice chuckles warmly
  791. >"On raising the two alicorns of course."
  792. "Oh... Wait, so you're the one who sent them to me? And if so, why?"
  793. >"I am. It seemed as though you would be the best fit to raise them."
  794. "I can't imagine I was the first choice."
  795. >The voice adds a pitiful tone
  796. >"You musn't be so hard on yourself Anon. You WERE my first choice. I needed someone with good character and a background knowledge of Equestria."
  797. "Wait...so that's THE Celestia and THE Luna?!"
  798. >"Mm. Indeed."
  799. "But...why have a human raise them? It doesn't make any sense."
  800. >"Those sisters cultured Equestria. As you know, Equestria has a lot of human influence."
  801. "Hold up. Equestria's REAL?"
  802. >The voice giggles
  803. >"Well that would depend on your definition of real. It does exist, yes, but not in your universe. When the time comes, Celestia and Luna will be extracted from your universe and placed back in theirs."
  804. >You sigh
  805. >You knew this day was coming from day 1
  806. "It's time to let them go, isn't it?"
  807. >"No! Good heavens no! I couldn't separate you all after the bonds you've forged. It would leave heavy emotional scars on them."
  808. >The next question isn't an easy one to ask, but nothing ventured, nothing gained
  809. "Could...I perhaps go to Equestria with them?"
  810. >The voice goes silent for a moment
  811. >"Hm... I suppose if you remained out of sight, then maybe. But on the other hand, it cause more trouble than it ends up being worth. I'll have to think on it."
  812. >So there IS a possibility of spending your life with them
  813. >Good...
  814. >"Well, you're about to wake up, so I believe I must take my leave now."
  815. "Wait!"
  816. >"Yes?"
  817. "Just who ARE you exactly?"
  818. >The voice laughs
  819. >"Some mysteries just aren't meant to be solved, Anon. The next time we meet, the two will go to Equestria. And you might go with them."
  820. >You wake up
  821.
  822. Ending A:
  823. >It's a sunny day
  824. >It's been years since Celestia and Luna showed up on your doorstep, changing your life forever
  825. >You and Lara are now happily married and had a son of your own
  826. >Lara chose the name Peter
  827. >"Daaaaad!"
  828. >Megan walks into the room
  829. >"I've got the groceries!"
  830. "Thanks sweetie. Can you call your sisters in?"
  831. >She nods and sticks her head out the window
  832. >"Tia! Luna! Time for dinner!"
  833. >The two fly from the other side of the village and land on the roof
  834. "What did I tell you?!"
  835. >They giggle and flap off
  836. >"The roof isn't a landing pad..."
  837. "That's right! Now come get some lunch. Wait, where's Peter?"
  838. >Lara walks in carrying your son
  839. >"He just woke up from a nap, I've got him."
  840. "Alright gang, let's eat."
  841. >Lara stifles a giggle
  842. "What?"
  843. >"It's just...you sound like Freddy when you say that."
  844. >The entire table giggles at your manner of speech
  845. >Even Peter smiles
  846. >You admit, their laughter is contagious
  847. "Ha ha. Every funny. Now come on, I'm starving."
  848. >You all dig in
  849. >You're not getting any younger, and you can feel old age creeping up on you
  850. >You WILL die before your kids, but at least they'll have each other to comfort when it happens
  851. >And so long as they're in good hands, you can live at peace
  852.
  853. Ending B:
  854. >It's been a couple hundred years since your arrival in Equestria
  855. >Much to your surprise, the aging process is slowed significantly in Equestria
  856. >You suppose that makes sense, considering how quickly they aged back on Earth
  857. >But you'll be damned if it doesn't feel weird
  858. >All of that time with your youth retained has made you a lot more relaxed though. You feel almost like an elf
  859. >You casually wonder just how many years exactly you have left
  860. >But Equestria is wonderful
  861. >Not only do you get to spend more time with your girls, but the country is clean and magical
  862. >It's a nice contrast to where you were living before the turn of events took place
  863. >The voice in your dreams manifested one day and as promised, whisked you away
  864. >It was odd, having Celestia and Luna show you the ropes in a world unfamilier to you
  865. >You wondered why they seemed to know everything about Equestria despite never having been there, but you decide most of what they know is instinct
  866. >You never did uncover the mystery of that voice, or find Luna and Celestia's biological parents, but...
  867. >"Some mysteries just aren't meant to be solved."
  868. >Of course, you would have to remain hidden from others
  869. >But a life of secrecy with Luna and Celestia was better than a life without
