Appearance:

Male zebra of average height and weight with green eyes. Mane is shaved down to less than a centimeter long, as well as the bristles of his tail. Bears a white tattoo on his flank consisting of four spirals arranged symmetrically in a square with a cross formed at the center. Wears a red grass anklets on each of his hoofs, and a necklace consisting of several multicolored stones, the largest of which is green and placed in the front. Often wearing a light-brown cloak. Expression is mostly solemn and introspective, trying to observe everything around him and process it.

 

Background:

A monk trained amongst the wildlife of the jungle who found that he fought better without a weapon than with one,  Shima hails from a tribe in the distant land of the Zebras. He was brought to Equestria through the good will of an aristocratic unicorn of New Canterlot to embark a personal journey to gain learn about the new kingdom that had finally been united under Candance's rule and to experience the new-found harmony of the ponies before bringing this knowledge home to his tribe (particularly to his ailing little sister), but was sadly swept up in the invasion of the Nyriax. With all means of transportation home lost and unaware of what state his home village of Mwitu is currently in, Shima now fights along side the resistance in hopes of procuring a way back to Zebrafica and perhaps ending this horrible threat before it ever gets a chance to spread there...
