- Black Viper: Prologue
- >The heavy droplets of rain splashed against the bulletproof windows of the Huey.
- >You felt the slight jerk as the landing gear connected to the helipad.
- >You are Captain Anon of the 22nd Special Air Service Regiment of the British Army, Squadron A, Air Troops.
- >The door flung open and you stepped out into the thunderstorm.
- >You walked towards the lights marking the entrance of the testing facility.
- >The men guarding the door saluted you and one of them opened the door allowing you entrance into the building.
- >You repaid the gesture to the both of them before you make your way inside and out of the rain.
- >Every man in the army is a good man.
- >Inside, you were greeted by Colonel Johnson.
- >You saluted your superior.
- >"At ease, Captain!" he smiles.
- >"I’m glad to have you here, son!"
- >The Colonel was a balding man, now in his mid-fifties, decorated Falkland Veteran.
- "Sir, it is my honor." you say as you slightly bow for the elder man.
- >"No, it is I who is honored, Captain! You are one of our highest ranking soldiers of all times!"
- >His eyes showed a mixture of respect and envy.
- >He was never a member of the S.A.S. like you are.
- >He tried but fell short to make the selection.
- >Then again, only a few do and you were lucky enough to be one of them.
- >The apex predator. A perfect killing machine in flesh.
- >"Follow me, son!" the Colonel declared, before turning around and walking off into the distance.
- >You walked behind the Colonel as he led you through various grey concrete corridors.
- >He stopped at a heavy iron door that had to be at least 3 inches thick.
- >Again, two armed men stood in front of it, guarding whatever lay behind it.
- >The familiar gesture was once again exchanged.
- >The guards stepped aside, allowing the Colonel and you to step in front of the red orb located in the side of the wall.
- >The Colonel bowed over and looked in to the retina scanner.
- >A red beam of light ran up and down over his eye a few times.
- >Then various clicking noises could be heard and the door swiftly opened with a “whoosh”.
- >You walked through and it immediately closed again with a “whoosh”.
- >You liked the sound it made, it gave you a comforting feeling of security.
- >The room in front of you was awe-inspiring, to say the least.
- >Your jaw nearly hit the floor in response.
- >The Colonel chuckled at your awestruck face.
- >The room you were currently standing in had to be about 20 feet high and at least 80 yards long.
- >What immediately drew your attention was what stood in its center.
- >A large metal frame placed on a platform with an overwhelming amount of thick cables leading to it.
- >In front of it were two rows of scientists who were all madly typing on a set of computers hooked unto the machine.
- >Two caliber .50 MGs were constantly aiming for the frame.
- >It was then that you realized the true intent of the heavily reinforced door behind you.
- >It was not there to prevent people from getting in here.
- >It was there to prevent things from getting out of here.
- >You had a subtle idea about what the frame was but you needed to confirm your theory.
- "Colonel, if I might ask is that a -"
- >"A portal? Yes, Captain, it most certainly is!" the general interrupted.
- >"This is the pinnacle of human technology!" he stated.
- >"Only few men have had the honor of witnessing this project."
- >Before you could ask any further questions, one of the scientists stood up and made his way over to the both of you.
- >His physical appearance told you that he was definitively a man of thought, rather than one of action like you.
- >”Ah, Colonel Johnson.” he spoke in a weezing, nasal voice.
- >The high pitch grated your ears.
- >He was a fat computer geek.
- >Exactly the type of person you used to bully in school.
- >Those were fun times.
- >"And you are?" he asked, snapping you out of your sweet reminiscants of your youth.
- "Captain Anon, 22nd Special Air Service Regiment of the British Army, Squadron A, Air Troops!" you barked.
- >He visibly flinched a bit at your response.
- >Internally, you smirked at his cowardice.
- >Your face however carried the same stoic expression as always.
- >"Well, Captain, your outstanding achievements have led to the decision of making youthe first man to step through that port-"
- >The Colonel was interrupted by one of the scientists jumping up and revealing a semtex vest under his lab coat.
- >He rushed over to the portal.
- >"Humanity isn't meant to leave the earth! The earth circles the sun! God created the universe in seven days, and there is no sentient life but mankind!"
- >That was certainly something new.
- >Christians blowing themselves up!
- >You jumped behind the computers and pulled the Colonel down with you.
- >The explosion shook the whole room to its foundations.
- >You felt the heat of the incinerating firewave on your skin, as it made its way mere centimeters above your head.
- >After the blaze had ended and you had regained your bearings somewhat, you peeled out of the cover.
- >The portal frame was ripped in two parts and there were large sparks traveling from one half to the other.
- >You were no scientist but that did not look like a good sign to you.
- >Definitively not a good sign.
- >You walked out of cover to look for a way to cut off the power to the portal.
- >That was the worst decision of your entire life.
- >A lightning bolt shot out of the portal and hit your square in the chest.
- >And then the world faded to black..
- >"Is it dead?"
- >A female, rather tomboyish voice spoke up.
- >You felt something poking your side. It hurt.
- >"No Rainbow, and stop touching it!" another female voice spoke up.
- >You opened your eyes and looked around.
- >Above you stood..
- >Well, you’re not sure about that actually.
- >It reminded you of a horse, a pony to be more precise.
- >But it was purple.
- >And it had a horn on its head.
- >She shrieked and jumped back, causing more shrieks and jumps in return.
- >Six, if you counted that right.
- >Four females, one male, and the tomboyish one.
- >You sat up and took in your surroundings.
- >There were five others of these pony-like creatures, and one… lizard?
- >They were all colored very brightly.
- >You used your chance to scan the environment.
- >You were lying on a couch in a library.
- >No chains, no torture instruments. So far, so good.
- >The creatures stared at you fearfully, until the purple one approached you again.
- >"W-What are you?" it tentatively asked.
- >The question was dedicated more to herself and less to you.
- >Never the less, you answered her.
- "It’s who. Who are you. Not what, thank you very much..'
- >She shrieked but this time, instead of jumping she spoke up completely confused.
- >"You- You can talk?"
- "Well, obviously. Why'd you ask me a question otherwise.." you stated bluntly.
- >”But- I've never seen anything like you before! What species are you?"
- "I'm a human. Male, if you were doubting that."
- >"Strange, I never heard of a creature liked that in Equestria!"
- >Equestria.
- >So that’s where the portal brought you then.
- >"I´m Twilight Sparkle, Princess Celestia’s most faithful student."
- >She beamed up when she said that, clearly very proud of whatever it was that that title encompassed.
- >She'd have to bring out something bigger if she was trying to impress you..
- >The orange one walked up to you.
- >It wore a Stetson hat and had apples tattooed on her ass.
- >Aside from the lizard, they all seemed to have some sort of ass tattoo.
- >Might be some sort of initiation rite from their culture..
- >"Howdy, Ahm Applejack, and ah run Sweet Apple Acres, the best Apple farm in all of Equestria!"
- >The cyan blue tomboyish one hovered over.
- >You then noticed it had wings.
- >The longer you were here, the less sense things seemed to make.
- >"I'm Rainbow Dash, fastest flyer of all Equestria!"
- >Suddenly, the pink one popped its head out from the couch.
- >"I'm Pinkie Pie!" she exclaimed happily.
- >You stared at her, asking yourself how that was even possible.
- >The marshmallow-colored one walked towards you now and to your surprise, she spoke up in a British accent.
- >Or, to put it right, the others all had an American accent.
- >Apart from the orange one, she seemed to have a certain country fall-of-tongue.
- >None the less, your country invented the language!
- >"I am Rarity, owner of the Carousel Boutique!"
- >The small lizard walked up to you
- >"My name is Spike and I'm Twilight's assistant!"
- >The only one who hadn't talked yet was the yellow one.
- >It slowly walked over and stammered
- >"I- I'm Fluttershy.”
- >She blushed terribly.
- >The others looked at you expectantly.
- "I'm Anon."
- >"Hello, Anon! Welcome to Equestria! Is there a reason you are here?"
- "I'm sorry, but I can’t tell you that."
- >"Wh- What? Why not?"
- "I'm sorry, but I can’t tell you that either."
- >She shot you a glare.
- >"Spike, write a letter to the princes. Tell her about Anon. And his avoidant reactions to my questions!"
- >The lizard took a roll of parchment and a quill, and started to write a letter.
- >When he was done, he breathed fire upon it.
- >You jumped off the couch at that.
- "You- You are a dragon?"
- >He smirked. "Afraid?"
- "N-No, not really. Just surprised is all."
- >Suddenly, a white flash lighted up the room.
- >You immediately jumped into cover.
- >Dem military reflexes.
- >You stuck your head out, and were face to face with a much bigger white horse.
- >The others bowed in front of her
- >"Rise my little ponies, there is no need for such formalities!"
- >Her voice was soft and motherly.
- >You left your cover, looking straight in her eyes.
- >She was as tall as you are.
- >Impressive. The others barely reached to your waist.
- >"So, you are Anon?"
- >You nod.
- >"I'm princess Celestia."
- >You are not impressed.
- >"Twilight told me you refused to answer her questions. Why is that so?"
- "I'm sorry, but I can't answer that."
- >She sighed.
- >"I see, you're either stubborn or trained not to answer."
- >"And looking at your clothes, I guess it’s the former."
- >"I will take him to the castle, my little ponies!"
- >There is another flash of white and you find yourself on top of a tower.
- >You are on top of some sort of castle.
- >But you doubt it could face any siege.
- >It was more like some fairy-tale bullshit.
- >"I give you one last chance to co-operate, Anon."
- >You just look sternly at her.
- >She sighs and her horn began to glow.
- >You stepped back but she was quick like a viper and made contact with your forehead
- >Nothing happened.
- >She pulled back in horror.
- >"The… the world you come from… such horror… such violence."
- >She pulled you in a warm embrace, her wings wrapping around you.
- >Dafuq?
- >She pulled back and looked deeply into your eyes.
- >"I- I read your memories.. the things you saw, and did.."
- "I guess you’ll eliminate me now seeing me as a possible threat to your kingdom?"
- >"N- No! I would never do such a thing!"
- >You looked at her in confusion.
- >"I shall permit you to stay in our world and live the rest of your life in Ponyville, in the hope that you will find peace among us!"
- >You were taken aback by that.
- "Tha- Thank you, Princess!"
- >She smiled, and teleported you back.
- >"My little ponies, Anon here will live in Ponyville from now on!"
- "A new house for him must be build, so I ask if one of you is ready to share her home with him a few weeks.”
- >”I- I will take care of him, Princess.” the yellow one timidly spoke up.
- >"Great! Now that that's settled, you must excuse me my little ponies -and human- but the royal duties await me."
- >The others said their goodbyes and you saluted to her.
- >She teleported away in yet another white flash.
- >You turned to the yellow one.
- "Thank you for letting me stay at your house. That's very kind of you!"
- >Oh, that's nothing! I'm sure you will love it!"
