Meanwhile in Space

There was once a lovely lady that went by the name Saree. Joyful and young, she was the

pride of her parents. Her uncle was an astronaut, and without much effort he convinced her to follow

that carrer from rather early on. All she ever talked about during her childhood was about how

she would someday meet all the stars and befriend them. As a result she spent her entire school

life studying non-stop to guarantee she would eventualy explore this vast universe; it didn't net her

many friends, but the few she had were special to her.

 

Then, late in her twenties, she finally got a position at a space exploration program. A highly educated

woman, she was happier than ever to finally fulfill her dreams of going to space. It was then that she met

Kenton, a man in his early thirties, who would accompany her in her mission. At first she wasn't too fond

of his simplicity and apparently lazy lifestyle, but eventually it grew on her and before she knew it they were in love.

They did not marry, nor live together, but they were the happiest couple around their headquarters.

She had a long black hair with sharp green eyes and he was tall, brown haired, with innocent black eyes.

They had particularly different views but somehow they just fit together.

 

And so the day finally came. They were a group of four: Saree, Kenton, and two colleagues,

Jess and Daniel. The lift-off went perfectly fine and soon they were leaving the planet behind.

About two days into space a curious object got near their ship. It was a purple-black pyramid of sorts. Clean as a whistle.

They didn't know what to do. They tried contacting the headquarters but to no avail. They all discussed what to do about it,

and eventually Kenton himself convinced them to bring it inside the ship for analysis. Saree found that insanely reckless,

but unfortunatelly her warning were not enough to convince the small crew otherwise. Daniel himself brought it inside, carefully

putting it on the floor.

 

"We could all die because of this, you know? Why would you do this? Just picking up things you find around in space of all places!" said Saree, clearly nervous.

"You always worry too much. We're alright now aren't we? It doesn't look too hazardous either. Maybe we just found something amazing." replied Kenton.

"Amazing like what?" said Daniel.

"Like an alien civilation or something."

"Please, don't be ridiculous. We would have found out about that by now don't you think?" retorted Jess.

"Well I don't know, but I think I've never seen anything like it. We should get it analyzed as soon as we get back."

"Do what you want, I'm going to take a nap." said Saree, sounding displeased.

It was unlike Saree to sleep a lot, so the crew, Kenton in particular found that strange, but not strange enough to worry them.

 

And so, many hours later, after everyone had gone to sleep, she woke up. She wasn't sure why, but she had a burning desire to

see the pyramid again. It was sitting in the lower deck, with a faint golden glow. She approached it, still half asleep, and touched it.

As soon as she made contact she felt a huge shock and got paralyzed. The top of the pyramid then came off and from inside a silver substance floated up.

It then forced itself through the still paralyzed woman's mouth, which made her panic, but her struggle was fruitless. The pyramid then closed itself and

released Saree, who promptly blacked out.

 

She woke up in her bed. Her friends had already left the barracks and she found herself completely alone. For one moment she thought it had all been a dream

and she was relieved, but that didn't last long as she looked at her hands and noticed there was something odd about them. Her entire skin felt somewhat

thicker and dry, but her nails were somewhat enlongated and seemed darker. Her feet were the same. As she was about to flip out her boyfriend came in with a

small tray.

"Oh, you finally woke up. I was getting worried there."

"Oh... uh, yeah."

"I brought you some breakfast. Usual paste, but any food can be special with some love."

"I'll give you that."

She was about to pick up the food, but then she hesitated. "I can't let him see this" she thought.

"Um, I'm sorry, I'm not feeling so good right now. Would you please leave the food here and let me sleep a little longer?"

"Sure, sure. I'm sorry about yesterday, it really was reckless. Maybe we should throw it out."

"Don't you dare."

"What?"

The words came out of her mouth without her consent. She never meant to say that.

"Nothing, don't mention it."

"Ok then..."  

As soon as he left, she got a tube and tried eating it, as she was in fact rather hungry. Tube after tube she tore through them, and yet she was only marginally

satisfied.

 

She thought about getting more of them but then she started feeling strange. It was hard to describe, and it was not good or bad, just weird. Her head ached and

har throat felt very dry. She then felt her skin gradually hardening. She didn't know what to make of it, but it terrified her. Her arms had begun forming thick black plates

around them, and so did her legs. Her hands were basically claws by now. She panicked and jumped up, but soon she found out she could hardly stand up straight anymore.

She hurried to the bathroom where she looked at herself in the mirror. She looked terribly pale, and there were four small holes beneath her eyes.

Just as she was about to scream her mandible split in two. Then yellowish eyes grew inside the holes in her face, and her own original eyes became completely yellow.

Her insides felt like they were being slowly scrambled. She once again tried to scream but she was no longer able to produce recognizable sounds with her vocal chords. Dark

blood came pouring out of her mouth, and she felt her spine slowly extending. As soon as her hair started falling out she once again blacked out.

 

She woke up in a puddle of what seemed to be her own blood, in the bathroom floor. Thankfully the door was closed. She looked down at her own body. She was

now completely covered with a dark insect-like carapace. There was a large tail coming out from her back, and she now had a brand new set of arms. She took a glance

at the mirror. Six eyes and ant-like mandibles glanced back at her. She also noticed the pair antennae and the odd shape of her skull. Her carapace felt extremely sensitive

and struggling to control her new body. There were small spikes all over her arms and legs. There was a purple substance dripping from her vagina.

She didn't know what to make of this whole turn of events. It felt somewhat good in this new body, but what would she do about everyone else? How would they react?

She leaned on the door as she suddenly felt lust overtaking her. She started touching herself without thinking too much.

"Oh, occupied I see." said Kenton. "You coming out anytime soon?"

She tried replying, but only a low screech came out. She kept trying but no human words would come out.

Soon Kenton got worried something might have happened to whoever was inside and tried to break in. Saree kept blocking the door. She then had an idea and used her fresh blood

and some toilet paper to send a message.

"IT'S SAREE, I'M ALRIGHT" it said.

"Holy shit is this blood? Oh my god Saree, what's going on? I'm coming in."

She didn't really think this through.

 

He threw himself with all his force at the door, breaking it and pushing the girl out of the way. As she fell down he stared in complete disbelief at the weird

creature in the ground. His first thought was to run away, and she noticed that, so she used her four arms to hold him in place and shut his mouth. She had already

given up speaking, so she instead just shook her head in disapproval. He apparently understood that and stopped struggling. "S-Saree, is that you?". She nodded in

confirmation. "What happened?". She shrugged, then drew a triangle in the air. "The pyramid did this? I guess you were right, it really was dangerous. I'm so sorry..."

Then all of a sudden lust took ever her entire body again. He noticed as she shivered and felt a certain sense of dread. She jumped at him and started unclothing him.

"Uh... I guess so. This is so fucked up"

"Sure is. Now, let's keep our heads cool, we can't let the others find out."

"Why not? Maybe they can help us."

"Are you insane? How are we going to explain this? They'll assume we're invaders and try to kills un on sight."

She stood in silence. It was an unfortunate truth. It would be impossible to explain this in their current state and even if they weren't immediatly terminated,

they would just be dissected as soon as they went back to Earth. It was a tight spot, they'd have to figure something out.

"Maybe there's something in the pyramid to help us?"

"That pyramid is what got us here in the first place. I don't think going back to it would help a lot."

"I know, but I've got to try"

 

She slowly crawled out of the bathroom into the barracks. It was empty. She heard some sounds near the kitchen, but thankfully she could pass by unnoticed and get

to the lower deck. There was the pyramid, with a green glow. She didn't dare touch it again, but as she got near it opened itself again. Inside there were runes with

a faint green glow to them. With some effort she could somehow read them: "Mission Complete: A compatible queen has been found and properly adapted".

 

She rushed back inside the bathroom, where her boyfriend was still waiting, with a concerned look on his face. She then told him what was written there.

"Welp, my girlfriend is now an alien queen. I have to admit I didn't see that one coming."

"This isn't funny? What are we supposed to do now?"

"Procreate your species like a good queen should?"

"What?"

"Isn't it obvious? I'll be your king, we can find a cozy little planet and create a civilization there."

"What about the others?"

"We can offer them to come. If they agree we'll turn them too. If they refuse we kill them, isn't it obvious?"

"No, none of this is. This is not like you."

"Being an alien is not like me indeed."

"Ugh. I'm sorry. But take this a little more seriously."

"I am. That was not a joke."

"I don't want to kill them."

"I'll do it then, I got this nifty thing while you were gone."

His tail now had a particularly sharp appendage at it's end. It was also somehow spikier.

 

And so they made their move. Predictably enough they never got the chance to invite their friends to their new kingdom, as their first reaction was to

grap the nearest sharp object and try fighting the aliens. The humans were struck down almost instantly by the man's vicious attacks. "I could get used to this

much energy!" he exclaimed, to which she replied "What's wrong with you?". "I'm a goddamned alien, that's what's wrong with me."

Neither of them really liked having to give up their lifes so suddenly, but they just accepted their fate as there was nothing to be done.

They would simply let nature follow it's course and let it flow.

 

And so they eventually landed on a planet, where using the ship as their lair, they started populating it. She would give birth to hundreds of aliens per wave

and he would raise them accordingly. And so a new species now occupies our vast universe. Perhaps someday it could meet and befriend every star there is.
