  1.
  2.
  3.     EPISODE SUMMARY:
  4.     After Fluttershy and Twilight Sparkle discover a young colt in the woods believing himself to be a buck, Treebark's adoptive parents request the mane 6 to help their son come to terms with who he really is.
  5.
  6.     INTRO SCENE:
  7.     BGM plays, Background is a shot of Ponyville. Camera pans up to see our logo. Logo disappears, getting replaced by the episode title. Both disappear as the camera pans sideways and zooms on to Fluttershy. Fluttershy is leading some squirells (The only critter I can think off the top of my head) into Whitetail Woods. She starts talking to them like Fluttershy usually does to small animals, giving us exposition about our time (Middle of spring) and location (Whitetail Woods). About halfway through, we get a shot of all of them and suddenly the camera starts shaking. We hear what seems to be a stampede coming towards Fluttershy. She jumps into a nearby bush, shaking in the bush. A few seconds later a stampede of deer blasts through the woods. We don't see any of the deer, just silhouettes. TB breaks off from the stampede to inspect the shaking bush (TB is visible in the shot, but his "Antlers" aren't.) Before he can discover Fluttershy in it, His mom tells him to hurry up or he'll be late for the migration. (She doesn't reffer to him as her son, just Treebark.) He quickly realizes that he needs to be in formation and jumps back into the stampede. Fluttershy, who saw TB up close, (But not his "Antlers") dashes out of the bush, galloping towards Ponyville.
  8.
  9.     ACT ONE:
  10.     Shot of library. This is where a library gag should come, caused by Fluttershy barging in the library and I'm too unfunny to make one. Fluttershy says she saw a colt migrating along with the deer. Twilight is skeptical, pointing out that the deer are a nomadic species who don't interact with pones too often. Fluttershy says something bad might have happened to the colt or that the deer might have stolen him for >rape. They run out of the library back towards Whitetail Woods to investigate.
  11.
  12.     They reach the same place where the intro took place and begin following the hoofprints. While they walk, Twilight explains elements about deer culture and their primitive way of life and other deer stuff you'd see in books.
  13.
  14. Eventually their view (and conveniently, the camera's view as well) is blocked by a big branch. Twilight moves it out of the way to see Deer HQ in all its glory. This scene should showcase stuff like deer residence, deer interaction, and more deer stuff in general.) Twilight walks into Deer HQ with Fluttershy following slowly and carefully behind, afraid of locking eyes with a deer\stag. They approach the most regal and fancy looking deer (Redwood), thinking he must be a chief or something (He might very well BE a chief, depending on specific deer culture elements that will be decided on later.) While they slowly move towards Redwood, deer all across the HQ eye them over suspiciously, which makes FS nervous.
  15.
  16.     They reach Redwood and Maple, standing outside of their deer residence. Before they can begin talking, Redwood asks them what they're doing in deer HQ. Redwood's expression is a mix of suspicious stare and disinterest, which makes both Fluttershy and Twilight nervous. Twilight nudges Fluttershy to talk first.
  17.
  18.     Fluttershy explains to them that earlier she saw his "tribe" (Not decided whether or not they lead a hierarchy yet, so I'll refer to them as a tribe for now.) migrating through the woods and that a colt followed them into the woods. Redwood asks her whether she means Treebark, before turning in his direction. The pones follow his gaze and we see them just stare in that direction with a surprised look on their face. This is when we finally see Treebark completely. He is playing with the other deer kids with his goofy antlers. (The other kids don't mind)
  19.     Twilight asks why he has branches glued\tied\placed behind his ears, To which Redwood responds by explaining TB's backstory: Abandoned as a child in forest, Found by deer during migration, Taken by Redwood and Maple, raised thinking he's a buck, never seeing a pone up close.
  20.
  21.     Redwood then explains that he doesn't know much about the lifestyle of ponies, but feels his son should have experienced the world for himself before deciding whether he wants to settle down with the deer, and feels that Treebark is the right age to go out and do just that.
  22.
  23.     Maple says that they must be good ponies if they made the whole trek from Ponyville to Whitetail Woods to see whether a child might be in trouble, and they are her son's best bet at seeing civilization and breaking down his true identity to him, requesting their help.
  24.
  25.     Twilight, always willing to help, agrees to it and Fluttershy doesn't see why not. Redwood calls his son over, telling Treebark that he's going on a trip with these two pones, to listen to everything they say and to stay close to them. He requests that they bring TB back by sunset as Deer HQ is just a one-day stop on migration and that they leave in the morning. Should he not return, the deer will acknowledge that TB chose to stay in Ponyville. Fluttershy and Twilight introduce themselves to Treebark, Redwood and Maple say the usual parting words shenanigans, and pones exit deer HQ with Treebark.
  26.
  27. ACT TWO:
  28. Shot of library again. Fluttershy, Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie are all sitting in a half circle formation around TB, who's standing in front of them with Twilight by his side. Twilight introduces TB to the ponies by their names, each of whom responds to TB in their own way. (Fluttershy will probably make a quiet, barely noticeable introduction, Applejack will give a friendly, hospitable introduction, Rarity will definitely say the word "Delighted" because she's Rarity, Rainbow Dash will use her introduction to brag and Pinkie Pie's introduction doesn't need to be explained.) Twilight says that although this must be overwhelming for TB, they will do their best to give him a traditional Ponyville welcoming. (oh god i suck)
  29.
  30. CUE THE SONG
  31. The song should revolve around the concept of every member of the mane 6 showing off a different part of Ponyville and a different aspect of civilization. (For example, Rainbow Dash would show off what sports are while Applejack shows agriculture.) The ponies are over-hospitable which makes TB uncomfortable although he is still genuinely amazed and curious about what they show him.
  32. Song should be around the length of smile smile smile (Considering this is probably our only song in the episode, we want it to be good.)
  33.
  34. By the end of the song, It is already close to sunrise. The gang are now somewhere on the outskirts of Ponyville.
  35. Fluttershy notices this and says that they better get going if they want to make it to deer HQ before sunset. TB follows her as she starts to walk away. Twilight tells her to wait, and asks the girls to huddle up. Twilight says she's unsure whether its a good idea to return him to his deer family, and suggests TB should stay in Ponyville. AJ is quick to cut her off saying he belongs with his family. Rarity says she agrees with Twilight and that TB should stay in Ponyville. Its RD's turn to butt in as she says that Treebark should stay loyal to the people who raised him. Pinkie Pie agrees with RD on account that if the deer make TB happy, he should stay with them. Soon this huddle breaks into a loud argument about whether or not Treebark should stay in Ponyville or go back to Deer HQ.
  36.
  37. RD's argument is correspondent with her element: Loyalty. Treebark should remain loyal to the deer as they were the one who raised him.
  38.
  39. Twilight's and Rarity's argument is that it would be much safer for Treebark to stay in Ponyville as a forest is no place for a young colt.
  40.
  41. AJ's argument is that home is where your family is, and since the deer raised TB they are his true family, therefore he should live with them.
  42.
  43. During the argument, Fluttershy quietly whispers out that maybe they should let Treebark decide what he wants to do, but no one hears Fluttershy and she eventually gives up on trying to get their attention, opting instead to cower on the ground.
  44.
  45. TB also tries numerous time to speak up and get the girls' attention but to no avail. He eventually becomes frustrated of his situation and starts walking back to the library. (Even though he never been to Ponyville, I don't think it will be that hard to reach a giant tree sticking out of the city.) On his way there he monologues about how mane 6 think its so easy to come to terms with his situation. TB knows he's not a buck, but that won't stop him from trying to be one or otherwise he wouldn't belong, possibly even shunned by the deer community. He reaches the library and enters it, seeing it is being cleaned up by Spike.
  46.
  47. ACT THREE:
  48. Yet another shot of library. Spike is dusting some shelves, his back turned to TB. Treebark adjusts his antlers so that they stick out of his hair and calls out to Spike. Without turning around, Spike informs him that Twilight will come home shortly. TB says that he knows, which makes Spike turn around and face Treebark. TB, never seeing a baby dragon before, asks Spike what he is with slight hesitation. Spike says he's a dragon (which draws a "huh" from TB) and asks Treebark as to what he is. TB responds that he's a stag and asks Spike why he's in the library. Biped purple dragon is convinced that TB is a buck (since Spike is shorter than Treebark, he can't see that his antlers are branches. Not to mention Spike probably never seen a deer up close before anyway.) says that he's Twilight's personal #1 assistant. They exchange names. TB asks him if he has a map on how to get to Whitetail Woods. Spike says that he doesn't, but that he knows the way since him and Rarity dig for gems around that area, and offers to guide TB to the woods. TB thinks that would be great. They set off in the direction of the forest.
  49.
  50. Treebark strikes up a conversation with Spike about halfway through, asking him how a dragon ended up living with pones anyway. Spike explains that he was originally hatched by Twilight and raised by pones. TB asks Spike how do the ponies treat him. Spike answers that they treat him like one of their own and that he couldn't be more content. TB inquires him about how he can be comfortable and happy in a place where he doesn't technically belong, to which Spike responds that he does belong. The ponies are his true family and treat him as such so he sees no reason why not treat them like family as well. TB is amazed at how well Spike adapted to his new family and Treebark becomes more silent for the rest of their conversation (If it goes further than this) to think over what Spike said.
  51.
  52. They eventually arrive at the entrance to Whitetail Woods (And by entrance I mean the part of the forest that's closest to Ponyville.) TB thanks Spike for walking him there and turns to walk back into the forest. Spike turns to leave as well stops when he hears Twilight shouting out his name. Mane 6 come out running from the direction of Ponyville asking Spike what he's doing there, (His note probably said something like "I'm going to Whitetail Woods") to which Spike responds by saying he was escorting a young buck (We'll have to limit our use of the word buck for obvious reasons.) to Whitetail Woods. Before Spike can ask the pones what they're doing there, they run off after Treebark into the forest with Spike following them.
  53.
  54. They catch up to Treebark who's slowly trotting in the direction of Deer HQ through a path, saying they've been looking all over for him. The pones tell him that he's not part of the deer species, thinking he didn't know that. He says "I know" and brix are shat. (In particularly by Spike who didn't know TB was a colt.) "In that case, why are you going back to Deer HQ", ask him the pastel horses, to which he replies that he's going home with a blank expression, genuinely not understanding what the big deal is. "But you're a colt, why do you want to keep living with the deer?" ask him the brightly colored quadrupeds. At this point they've reached the familiar branch blocking entrance to deer HQ. (TB keeps going to Deer HQ the entire conversation, with the pones slowly following behind probably without realizing so.) "Because home is where your loved ones are" (or something like that). Branch is moved and they all enter deer HQ. Redwood and Maple are already there waiting for him. TB starts talking about how even though he wasn't born of deer, he was raised by them and that's what truly mattered. The decision of whether to follow his heart or his genetics was a choice he had to ultimately make by himself (and not have 5 pones fight over) and that Spike helped him realize what he wanted. He's a colt, true, but he doesn't care and neither do the deer. To them he's still Treebark because ultimately he's the colt they raised and love.
  55. LETTER TO CELESTIA
  56. This part will definitely come out spaghetti filled so just transcribe all of this ^^^^^ into a letter. Letter scene is standard transition from Treebark saying that stuff in the forest to Twilight narrating Spike what to put in the letter. The final shot is of Spike carrying the two branches TB wore on his head over to the library entrance and putting them crossed over each other above the door like a trophy. (This way its implied that TB got rid of his antlers because he accepts he's a colt.)
  57. ROLL THE CREDITS
