It is contributing, but it's a contribution that isn't aided by bringing personal identities into it; you've probably heard this argument before, but I feel it's better if ideas are picked up based on their own merit, rather than gaining appeal because you like the person that suggested it, or losing appeal because it was mentioned by Nathan.
  2. Honestly though, the "name when contributing" has been feeling a little like it's lost what I always felt the idea behind it was (though it's hard to tell whether that's actually the case or if it's just how it seems from people using it as an excuse to stir up trouble): if you're providing something that you want to be able to claim or that showing your identity would aid or provide context for, then name up, otherwise leave it off.
