well for starters, all of your friends are coming to your house... in the air.... for the first time.

 

this is gonna be awesome, mabe you can even lure anon to stay over the night so you can work your charms on him.

you rush to the front door and open it.

the party was awesome, rarity made you some clothes, you said they looked girly but youd wear them at something fancy next time. that was a lie, you were going to wear it to lure anon later.... mabe.

 

pinkie got you a whole bunch of baked goods. good celestia you love doughnuts.

 

fluttershy got you some stuff for tank, and gave you some bits, she never really knows what you want. thats okay, she doesnt need to.

 

applejack gives you abunch of cider saying that "this is the secret stach i had, dont let it go to waste." ohohoho i wont.

 

twilight gives you the newest edition to DARING DOO!!!! OHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSH!!!

 

anon gives you a buttload of drawings that you wanted him to make, and some bits. most of the pictures you asked for where of you and daring doo, or all of you guys. some of them looks really good and realistic while others where cartoony but cool.

 

like i said, the party was awesome.

 

after all of that, everyone left. well exept anon, you got him to stay. score one for rainbow dash.

 

anon: so how come you like daring doo so much? is it that adictive?

 

>are you kidding? she kicks major butt and she goes all over the world finding stuff and allways saves the day!

 

he chuckles a little and picks up the newest copy you got.

the name of the book changed. it was "daring doo and the worlds pyramid" now its "daring doo and the anonymous traveler"....

you hurried you way over to twilights, she's gotta know what happened and how to fix it.

 

twi: okay... okay... settle down. i think i know how this happened.

 

>you know why he got zwooped into a book?!

 

twi: yes. you remember how anon has a bit of a immunity to magic when he needs it?

 

>yeah?

 

twi: well i believe that he also cant controll it completly. all that magic has gathered on him, and he uh.... how did you put it?

 

>zwooped.

 

twi: yeah, he zwooped into the book.

 

>well how do we get him out?

 

twi: did you say that the name of the book changed?

 

>yeah? what do you think?

 

twi: well i say all we need to do is read the book to the very end.

 

you think that sounds easy enough, why not?

 

>you think you can stay here with me? we can take turns.

 

twi: of caurse. besides, i actually do wonder what adventures anon is gonna get himself into, if its anything like what happens here, its gotta be over the top there knowing its a daring doo novel.

 

she's right, anon's gonna go through some tough stuff.

 

>so... uh... should i just just start reading?

 

twilight nods and sits next to you.

 

>out loud?

 

twi: we have to make sure every word is read.

Daring Doo and the Anonymous Stranger

************************************************

 

ch.1 - he fell from the heavens.

 

you had been in pais dels somnis, the land of dreams, for three days now. it was a contenent that floated in mid air. you had recently learned that you could find 3 artifacts that would lead you to a place where it is said that you could sleep for eternity if you so chose to. you have recently just gotten one of the 3 artifacts. you had deciphered that the next peice would be northwest to your position. the contenet was pretty small for itself. this contenent (as its been mapped) has a jungle, a dessert, and a tundra. you had just gone through the jungle to get the first artifact. you think this adventure was going to be your best to date, not only would you be learning about your pegasi ancestors, but how they also developed a way to sleep eternally and basically be immortal.

you think now is a time to set up camp, its getting dark, and you have desert to cross tomorrow. thinking about it, each part of the island might take 3 days each to reach. so that means if you work this right you can be done in more or less six days. over all of your travels, this one was becoming the easiest, still very good though, you feel that anything could happen here!

 

*ZZZZZWWWOOOOP*

 

"zwoop?" you said. you go to where the noise was heard, theres a guy there now.

"augh.... jungle...what?" he says.

"who are you, and howed you get here?" you ask. your a little worried for him, but at the same time ready for a fight, this is the first exiting thing to happen here.

he holds his head with his right hand and looks up at you. "... oh dont tell me i got thrown in the book..."

he isnt making any sense. "who. are. you?"

he takes in a breath and sighs. "my name is anonymous."

"are you kidding? you think im some kin-" yout start to talk but you are interupted by him starting to stand up.

"no i dont think your some kind of idiot, but if you dont let me explain myself, ill think your some kind of jerk." he says with a bit of a smile.

okay... so far he is okay, and he has just met daring.

 

twi: well he still has his personality. you think she's going to like him?

 

>well, daring doo has never had anyone as a partner, so i dont know really. you want to take over for me?

 

twi: yeah, i was actually going to suggest we switch by chapters.

 

>sounds like a plan.

 

twilight turns the page and huffs in annoyance.

 

>what?

 

twi: i cant believe that the first thing he does when he meets her... is break the fourth wall...

 

you both giggle a bit and she starts to read.

ch.2- partners

 

last night you shared your camp with a guy that apparently fell from a portal from a different dimention. this guy came off as a bit of a slacker at first, but you began to see his traights, like he cought a pepple you through at him when you thought he got annoying, he didnt ask for help but helped when needed, and he always remained calm. it seems that he has gone though this sort of thing alot.

"so... anonymous..." you begin to say.

"call me anon, friends call me anon." he says looking back at you. his eyes are allways staring into yours, he never looks away.

"okay.... anon..." you reannounce. "why were you talking about a book yesterday?"

".... i got here by trying to read a book. long story, it would be best if we just pushed on so i can help you do whatever you need to do. mabe then i can get back." he says looking foreward again. he had a bit of uncertanty in that last bit there. he didnt like being here, but he was being nonchalant about it.

"ill help you get back anon." you say. even you had a bit of uncertainty.

 

you spend the day traversing the jungle with a man that has no name, or whos name means he has no name. you have come to know that he is not a pony by the fact that he has molars, and canine. that meant he ate meat, but he has been eating plants too. that would make him a omnivore. he is funny at times, he has a weird sense of humor, but you like it.

"so what do i call you?" he says. "daring or doo?"

"i dont believe i told you my name." you say stopping.

"you didnt have to, its on your inner shirt." he says giving you the thumbs up as he walks foreward.

stupid fanclub giving you a shirt. wait, does that mean he looked at your chest? you dont think he is that kind of person, but you would like to do the charade anyway.

"you looked at my chest!" you scoff.

"and dont do this to me... id rather go deaf, i dont even get this back at home." he says with a sigh.

with a smile you think this was going to be a journey to remember.

 

you and anon head northwest to get to the desert. he sure seems to have alot of stamina if he is able to hike this long without getting tired.

 

"so what are you" you ask him. he looks back to you like he is trying to read your soul.

"im a human. if you had me explain anything above that we'd have to sit down so i can give you the whole history. just know im not from this dimension." he says turning back ahead.

anonymous is a strange being indeed, but he makes good company. they last time you tried out having a partner, they cried the whole way up and back. really boring adventure you had.

"any traps so far on this.... floating island?" he asks.

"not so far. its been pretty relaxing." you say putting your arms in the air stretching.

"... i hope this goes quickly." he whispers to himself, just enough for you to hear him.

"so... um... without asking anything about what a human is, what kind of place was your world before this?" you ask trying to get a good conversation going.

"well, it was pretty much like this one. magic, mishaps, bad guys doing bad things. hay... that reminds me... is there a princess celestia in this world?" he asks finally stopping?

that was a strange question to ask.

"yeah... why?" you ask stoping right in front of him.

"if ending the adventure doesnt work i can ask her." he says with a smile.

he has high hopes, the princess is allways busy. the only times you have ever seen the princess come out of her castle are when there is some sort of celebration. hay! they usualy celebrate your discoveries when you get back, and the princess is there most of the time!

"thats a good idea anonymous, but are you sure the princess will be able to send you back?" you ask with a little bit of hope in your voice.

"well yeah. the last time i asked that, she said that all a world needs is magic, and she can send me there." he smiles, and then the smile slowly fades away for some reason and he goes back to walking.

"lets keep walking." he says with a voice that just screams "i dont want to talk about this anymore."

twi:pretty smart of him.

 

>yeah, but how come hes sad every time she talks about our world?

 

twi: i dont think hes sad about our world dash, i think he's sad about his world.

 

you had forgotten all about it. anons world didnt have magic, he couldnt go back home. he always wondered how he even got here, sometimes you couldnt hang out with him because he would be in his house drawing up plans or writing letters to the princesses about how he could get back. you didnt like thinking about that, you wanted anon here.

you snatch the book from twilight and begin reading with a harumph.

ch. 3 finally, some traps

 

you and anonymous had finally got to the border of the jungle and the desert. the heat of the land showed up instantly to say hi. you lower you hat a bit so the sun doesnt hit you in the eyes.

"some weather." he says laughing.

hes laughing?

"your laughing?" you blurt out.

"ths reminds me of this one time me and my friends had to settle something down in appleooza. there was this dude there that had to say the name of the place in a funny way every time he wanted to say appleooza." he says laughing again.

he seems to be remembering good things now. good. you need him to be on his best attitude this whole journey, people develop this thing called "aggression" when they are put near someone for a long time.

"howed he pronounce it?" you ask generally wanting to know. anonymous usually does have funny things to talk about.

"AAAA-AAA-AAAPA-LOO-ZA!" he says as he wiggles his arms in the air like they were noodles.

you couldnt help but burst out laughing. this was going to be a long journey, but it was going to be a good one.

 

you set up camp for the night near a giant rock that would block most of the sun in the morning. you tell anonymous to go behind the rock while you change into another set of clothes you had packed. what? a girl DOES need to look her best.

"alright, its good to come over again." you say sheeply. why where you embarrassed? well he was a guy, but that usually didnt bother you.

"alright, you sleep on that side ill sleep on this side." he says.

"but the suns going to hit you in the morning, and hard." you say trying to get him to think.

"you ponies dont deal so well with heat, i understand that. we humans have this protective layer over us that can withstand most of the suns rays, the second the sun hits me, ill wake up, and then ill wake you up. sound good?" he says as he peaks his head over the side.

"sure..." you say. you guess he still wasnt into the whole having to partner up with you deal. he DID just come here out of nowhere. wait... he keeps talking about a book.

"so uh.... whats this book you keep talking about?" you ask.

he doesnt speak for a good minute.

"anon?" you try again.

"i guess you could say it was like any other book really. just talking about other worlds and stuff. i got sucked up here, end of story." he says.

you look around the giant rock to see him laying down against it with his shirt off.

"why do you have your shirt off? it gets really cold in the desert at night." you say.

he cuts a grin and then he says it.

"your totally peeping my bod!" he scoffs.

you definatly didnt see that one coming. it sent you into a fit of laughter.

"the question still goes." you say finally stopping.

"i like the cold. you know, i found out acouple of days ago that ponies couldnt stand the rain because it thundered. that really made me sad. i like the rain." he says looking up at the night sky.

"why is that?" you ask. this "human" was defenatly interesting.

"i just like the feel of the water hitting down on me. the thunder is kind of soothing too. its like the gods are all like "let me play you the song of my people." while i stand in the rain." he says finally resting his eyes.

"your really weird anonymous." you say smiling and going back to your side.

"i told you to call me anon. friends call me anon.

 

you wake up the next morning to find anon shaking you by the shoulders.

"mm-whah?" is the best thing that can escape from your mouth at the time.

"FREAKING GIANT ASS SCORPIONS ARE HERE! THIS IS THEIR NEST!" he says still shaking you.

you shoot up and look around you. giant ass scorpions indeed.

>hay! daring doo has never cursed before! whats going on?

 

twi: its as i thought would happen... anon is changing the books universe by having him in it.

 

>what does that even mean?

 

twi: well, imagine making cerial.

 

>okay.

 

twi: you know what it tastes like when you eat it. everything is perfectly normal right?

 

>yeah?

 

twi: what happens when you add a banana or a strawberry to the mix? it tastes a little different?

 

>yeah, it gives it a new flav- oooooooh. okay, so anon is the banana to the daring doo cerial?

 

twilight giggles at your choice of words.

 

twi: metaphorically speaking, yes.

 

>okay then... OH MAN! ANON AND DARING DOO ARE GETTING ATTACKED BY GIANT ASS SCORPIONS!!!

so here you are. giant scorpions sorounding you. you take a stance and prepair yourself for anything o happen.

"aaaah!" says anon as he dodges a stinger. he suddenly grabs it and kicks it clear from the scorpions body. it sprays alot of green goo out at where he had ripped it off and gets all over him. you see, these scorpions where only poisonous if they actually stabbed you because they needed two chemicals to cause the venomic reaction.

"screeeeeeeee!!!!!!" sounds the scorpion. it backs itself away and begins to go into convultions. violent convolions turn into small twitches and it finally stops moving.

"anon! your a genious!" you say almost high fiving him.

"look out!" he says as he tackles the stinger set for your away and breaks it off.  once again the scorpion dies in a violent way.

"looks like human insinct works well here." he says getting the scorpion gunk off of himself.

"you did good. ill defenatly start calling you anon from now on." you say helping him.

 

anon was starting to make you start reconsidering having a partner. he defenatly made a good friend.
