  1. >Ever since you were a little girl, you've always liked magic.
  2. >Anything related to magic really.
  3. >Tricks.
  4. >Spells.
  5. >Illusions.
  6. >But most of all, the stories.
  7. >You love fairy tails.
  8. >Especially the ones with a knight in shining armor willing to help the damsel in distress.
  9. Okay, now watch closely!
  10. >I guess what i really mean by all of this is, i've always wanted to see real magic.
  11. Aaaand POOF! It's gone!
  12. >"Wooooow!" says the group of children you are currently entertaining.
  13. >You always liked seeing the look of amazement on people's faces, especially children.
  14. >Their amazement and wonder remind you of how you viewed magic at their age.
  15. Are you all ready for the big finale?
  16. >"Yeeeah!"
  17. Here we go!
  18. >You take out your wand.
  19. >You start saying some mumbo jumbo.
  20. >You give the wand a final flick.
  21. >Fireworks come out and shoot towards the sky.
  22. >"WOOOOOOOOOOW!"
  23. >You are Trixie, "the Great and Powerful".
  24. >This is your life.
  25. ----------------------
  26.
  27. >Day big finish at Equestria High.
  28. >It's just like any other day.
  29. >Sit on a bus.
  30. >Go to school.
  31. >Sit in class.
  32. >Go to lunch.
  33. >Go back to sitting in class.
  34. >Go back home.
  35. >This school seems to suck the life out of you, and ruin your days.
  36. >Your hobby, magic, just doesn't seem to be making your peers happy anymore.
  37. >you wish you could.
  38. >You are an entertainer first after all.
  39. >Seeing smiles is what makes your day.
  40. >It may not seem like it, but it's true.
  41. >"Oh look, we have a talent show coming up!" says some random kid.
  42. >Talent show?
  43. >You walk up to the info board.
  44. >There it is.
  45. >Equestria High talent show.
  46. >This Friday.
  47. >THIS FRIDAY?!
  48. >THATS IN 2 DAYS!
  49. >OH FUCK YOU NEED TO PREPARE.
  50. >WHAT ARE YOU EVEN GONNA DO?
  51. >YOU CAN'T JUST DO YOUR NORMAL SHTICK, EVERYONE'S SEEN IT!
  52. Oh maaaan...
  53. >The final bell rings and everyone starts to head home or get stuff from their lockers.
  54. >You just head to the auditorium and sit down.
  55. >You can see that it's being set up for the talent show.
  56. >You stand on the stage, looking at all the chairs.
  57. >You close your eyes.
  58. >You imagine all of the seats being filled.
  59. >You smile.
  60. Now witness the Great and Powerful Trixie!
  61. >You do all your motions.
  62. >At the end, you pose.
  63. *clap clap clap clap clap*
  64. >You open your eyes in a flurry.
  65. >Someone is sitting down in one of the front row seats.
  66. H-how long where you there?
  67. >The boy in the beanie stands up.
  68. >"You must have something great planned huh?" he asks.
  69. You... i... of coarse i do. I'm the Great and Powerful Trixie after all.
  70. >You act narcissistic like usual.
  71. >It seems to be your defence mechanism.
  72. >In all honesty, you STILL haven't thought of what to do for it.
  73. >"I can't wait to see it. I've been to every one of your exhibitions. I'm a big fan."
  74. >A fan?
  75. >I have a fan?
  76. >I didn't know small town magicians like me could have fans.
  77. What's your name?
  78. >His smile goes down a few pegs.
  79. >It finally dissipates.
  80. >"can you get off the stage, i need to set up the wires..." he says looking away.
  81. >That's very strange.
  82. S-sure... i will comply.
  83. >You start to step do-
  84. >"Here, let me help you, it's a doozy getting down."
  85. >He practically offers his hand to you.
  86. >Going back to acting nice?
  87. >This is a strange boy.
  88. >You make your way down.
  89. Thank you...
  90. >He stares at you.
  91. Ahem... boy...
  92. >he gets on the stage and goes to the back.
  93. >Why didn't he want to tell you his name?
  94. >Was he just embarrassed or something?
  95. >I guess that could be the reason.
  96. >You should probably be getting home now.
  97. >"Trixie..." he says.
  98. >You turn around.
  99. >"G-good luck. I mean it."
  100. >Wow, he really is a fan.
  101. The great and Powerful Trixie needs no luck... but she thanks you for trying to charm her.
  102. >You grab your stuff and head outside.
  103. >You see your mom.
  104. >You get in the car and set your bag near your feet.
  105. >"How was your day dear?"
  106. Worrisome. I found out that theres a talent show coming up.
  107. >"Oh well i'm sure you'll do grea-
  108. It's this friday.
  109. >You mom stops talking.
  110. Yeah. Like i said. Worrisome.
  111. >"Well i mean, you've had to go through worse right? Remember that one party i took you to?"
  112. Those people were just mean. How was i supposed to know that the woman had an irrational fear of birds.
  113. >"Ornithophobia dear."
  114. How do you even know that word?
  115. >"I had to know about it after what happened."
  116. Ugh...
  117. >"Well... do you think you can prepare in such a short amount of time?"
  118. >You think back to the face on that one boy's face back in in auditorium when you... did what you did.
  119. I... think i might be able to... but i need to be able to come up with something big.
  120. >"Well, how about you go through your fathers stuff?"
  121. YOU'LL LET ME?
  122. >"Heheheh, well... i think you're old enough now. I'm sure he would say so as well if he were still here." she says with a smile.
  123. >You look down and smile a bit.
  124. >Your dad used to be a really good magician.
  125. Thanks mom...
  126. >"You'll do great Trixie dear, just look through his books. You'll think of something."
  127. ------------------
  128.
  129. >Well, it's friday.
  130. >And it's your time to shine.
  131. >You found something great in your dad's old books.
  132. >Something that ought to wow the crowd.
  133. >welp, lets get going.
  134. >...
  135. >Your feet aren't moving.
  136. >OH GOD YOUR FEET AREN'T MOVING!
  137. >"Nervous?" asks that boy from the other day.
  138. Y-yeah...
  139. >"Well, don't be. You got something great planned right?"
  140. Yeah...
  141. >"Then go out there and show them what makes you the Great and Powerful Trixie." he says pushing you towards the stage with your props.
  142. >You are put in front of everyone.
  143. >The whole auditorium is packed.
  144. >Oh god why did he do that?
  145. >"Introducing Trixie the Great and Powerful! She will now wow you with her magic and illusions! Everyone give it up for TRIIIIXIIIIE!" yells the announcer.
  146. >The crowd starts to cheer.
  147. >Oh, that's why he did that.
  148. >You stare at the crowd.
  149. >The clapping and cheers stop.
  150. >Okay Trixie, let's go.
  151. BEHOLD, THE GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIXIE!
  152. >You take out your wand in a puff of smoke and sparks.
  153. >The crowd claps a bit.
  154. >You roll your prop cart near you.
  155. FOR MY FIRST TRICK, I WILL REQUIRE TWO VOLUNTEERS.
  156. >People start raising their hands.
  157. >You're gonna need two skinny people for this one.
  158. >Oh, there's two.
  159. >And they're right next to each other.
  160. YOU TWO IN THE BACK WITH THE DUCK LIPS, COME ON UP!
  161. >The crowd starts to laugh.
  162. >Oh fuck, you just insulted two of your classmates.
  163. >My bad...
  164. >They come down to the stage, you help them up.
  165. I WILL NEED YOU BOTH TO HOLD HANDS.
  166. >They do so.
  167. >You cuff them.
  168. PLEASE SHOW THE CROWD THAT YOU ARE HANDCUFFED. PULL AGAINST IT TO SHOW THEM YOU ARE REALLY LOCKED TOGETHER.
  169. >They pull and start to freak out.
  170. DO NOT WORRY, FOR THE GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIXIE CAN FIX THIS!
  171. >With slide of hand, and a button built into both cuffs, you make them disappear.
  172. >The crowd applause.
  173. >You help the girls back down.
  174. >Onto the next trick then.
  175. >You take out the vase full of flowers.
  176. THE GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIXIE WILL NOW SHOW YOU HOW MUCH OF A GREEN THUMB SHE HAS.
  177. >You tap the vase twice.
  178. >More and more flowers pop up.
  179. >Basically you rigged the bottom of the vase to a holster underneath that shoots up more flowers.
  180. >The crowd starts to applaud even more.
  181. >You feel like this isn't so bad.
  182. >You put one trick after another, putting more and more smiles on the faces of the crowd.
  183. >This is great.
  184. >This is what you wanted.
  185. >This is-
  186. >"THE GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIXIE EVERYBODY, GIVE HER A HAND!" says the announcer.
  187. >OH FUCK YOU WASTED YOUR TIME LIMIT.
  188. WAIT, BEFORE I LEAVE THE STAGE, I HAVE ONE LAST BIG TRICK.
  189. >You wait for the announcer to say it's cool.
  190. >"One last trick, and then on to the next talent!"
  191. >Thank you random announcer guy.
  192. >Time to really show the crowd how great and powerful you are.
  193. FOR MY LAST TRICK, I WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOU ALL JUST ONE THING.
  194. >You step onto the prop cart.
  195. DON'T BLINK.
  196. *BOOM*
  197. >The only thing everyone can see is pyrotechnics, confetti, and monopoly money because you ran out of confetti.
  198. >You didn't disappear, all you did was put yourself inside the prop cart.
  199. >You hear them all cheer and "woooo".
  200. >You use the gears withing the cart to move it by itself to the curtains.
  201. >That ought to give them another wow.
  202. >You check through the peephole to make sure no one is there,
  203. >When you know it's clear, you get out of the cart and-
  204. >"Wow, that show was amazing." said the boy.
  205. >You look at him.
  206. >"W-what? Was it something i said?"
  207. Seriously, what's you name?
  208. >"I can't tell you my name, you'll think i'm an asshole. I'm actually glad you don't know me."
  209. >...
  210. You're that racist boy the school's always talking about aren't you?
  211. >"I'm NOT a racist!"
  212. So then it is you. Norman was it?
  213. >".... yeah... Norman..." he says looking away.
  214. >So this is why he didn't tell you.
  215. >He didn't want you to think one of your fan's was a shitty person.
  216. Thanks for pushing me onto the stage. I probably wouldn't have gone on if it weren't for you.
  217. >"I uh... your welcome..." he says scratching his head.
  218. >He looks a little flustered.
  219. >He must really be a big fan.
  220. >That's actually kind of cute.
  221. So tell me more about how you aren't a racist. I'd like to get to know the great and powerful fan of Trixie.
  222. >You want to know about the boy who actually got you through all of this.
