>the shelter said she once belonged to a previous owner, but you didn't get many details

>you don't really mind, though - she seems just like the other fluffy ponies you saw

>the discounted adoption fee helped as well

>you even got a free night-light for her

>her first day in her new home goes well - she's quieter than you'd expected, but chirpy and affectionate, and has very quickly taken a liking to you

>she loves the big green ball you got for her - you roll it to her and she rolls it back to you, as you watch your programmes

>soon the house is filled with the sound of her happy giggling

>night falls, and an unexpected storm starts coming in

>suddenly the power goes out and the house is plunged into darkness

>an instant later, fluffy pony starts screaming in terror

>for being so small, the noise is deafening

>despite your best efforts, you can't find her in the dark, and you can't calm her down

>grit your teeth and endure the cacophony until you've lit a few candles and some battery-powered lights

>fluffy pony finally stops screaming, but now she keeps babbling "no bad-box, no bad-box"

>she clings to you, shaking, until the power comes back on

>now you know what the night-light is for

>Jesus, what did her last owner DO to her?
