  1. >You exit the Thunderhawk, your new friend close behind.
  2. >The ponies once again wear looks of curiosity as the servo-skull flies up to each, scanning their features before returning to your shoulder.
  3. >”Oh! I’ve never seen an animal like that before. What’s its name Chosen?” Asks Fluttershy as she flies up to eye level with your robotic familiar.
  4. >”It is a servo-skull. It normally assists our techpriests with their duties and act as helpers and scribes.”
  5. >”A... skull? Like a real skull? From another Astartes?” Twilight asks.
  6. >”An Astartes skull? No, no, no, it’s just a human skull given a suspensor and a few scanning devices instead of eyes.”
  7. >The ponies wear expressions of disgust, some responding with an “Ewwww!”, except for Fluttershy, who is still cooing at the skull.
  8. >”Does he have a name, Chosen?” Flutter asks innocently.
  9. >”He doesn’t really need one.”
  10. >”Of course he does! What would be a good name for you... Oh! How about Blinky?” Fluttershy muses.
  11. >”I don’t think that’s a very appropriate name to give a servo skull,” You say as you cross your arms.
  12. >Fluttershy doesn’t hear you though, she’s too busy cradling the skull in her hooves, while the newly christened Blinky chirps positively all the while.
  13. >You roll your eyes at this. Such innocence and naiveté. Are all ponies like this?
  14. >”Nevermind,” you cut in. “I must speak with your monarch. It is of the utmost importance. I must know what his royal guard found here.”
  15. >”Monarch? Oh, you must mean Princess Celestia! She’s my teacher. Why do you need to talk to her? What’s so important about this wrecked... thingie?” Twilight responds.
  16. > Win the student and her friends. You do not know if the princess will heed Twilight’s voice, but there is no harm in winning these ponies over to your cause. A few allies for you would do nicely down the road.
  17. >Your voice grows grave, ”This is an Astartes gunship from my mortal enemies, the Blood Angels. They serve the corrupt man known as the Emperor who proclaims himself as a living god. My father and my brothers once fought for him, but we turned from his path of false light and hypocrisy millennia ago. The Emperor has no love for either his own people or other species in the galaxy. The Blood Angels are his most vicious servants, and they will kill any xenos they find. Especially you all. It’s likely that one or more Blood Angels survived the crash. What happened after the Royal Guard arrived, I do not know.”
  18. >Twilight looks alarmed, as do Rarity, Applejack and Fluttershy.
  19. >”Hmph. These Blood Angels sound a lot like you.” Rainbow states nonchalantly.
  20. >Fluttershy gasps at this insinuation and you angrily turn yourself to face Rainbow Dash.
  21. >Before you can dig a hole for yourself, the ponies come to your defence.
  22. >”That’s not fair Rainbow Dash! He apologized about earlier and he said he doesn’t follow that Emperor guy OR Chaos. Besides, he’s trying to warn us about these Blood Angels!” Fluttershy reasons, a surprising conviction in her voice.
  23. >”Yeah! He’s just tryin’ to look out fer us!” Drawls Applejack.
  24. >”Why are you so hostile to Chosen, Dash?” Twilight inquires.
  25. >Now Dash is on the defensive, while you hold the sympathy of her friends.
  26. >”In case you knuckleheads forgot, he tried to hurt Pinkie!” She practically shouts. You smile behind your helmet. She’s backed into a corner.
  27. >Now it is your turn to respond. “And I apologized to Pinkie Pie for that, and you all seemed to accept that. Pinkie doesn’t seem to hold it against me. Why do you?”
  28. >”There’s something... bad about you. Something just feels wrong. I mean, look at what you’re wearing!” She throws her hooves out, trying to illustrate the point to her friends.
  29. >”He’s covered in skulls, the writing on his armor just LOOKS evil, and swords come out of that big glove of his! Come ON girls! This guy screams bad news! I hit him going as fast as I could and it didn’t even put a dent in him!”
  30. > “I’m disappointed in you, Dash. I thought you learned not to judge a book by its cover after our little poison joke incident. Zecora seemed frightening enough when we all first saw her, but she’s a good friend of ours who helped us out when we needed it most. Sure, Chosen reacted a bit aggressively when he met Pinkie Pie, but she’s fine now! Give him a chance to prove himself,” Twilight reasons intellectually.
  31. >Dash crosses her arms and looks away, apparently disgusted that her friends are taking your side in all this.
  32. >You put the conversation back on track. “Despite what you may think of me, we still have an unknown number of Blood Angels running around here, doing who knows what. I MUST speak with your princess and learn what she found here. Then I can *deal* with these loyalists.”
  33. >You smile a toothy grin inside your helmet. All this time you thought you would have to leave this place to fight the Long War. Instead, this place, Equestria, has brought the fight to you.
  34. >Your words seem to bring everyone back up to speed with the situation.
  35. >”We should go right away! This is too important to just send a letter to the princess.” Twilight responds, a level of urgency in her voice.
  36. >A purple aura sparkles from Twilight’s horn.
  37. >WARP SORCERY
  38. >”Wait a moment, how are we getting there?”
  39. >”We’re going to teleport, Chosen, it’s the fastest way to get there.” Rarity responds.
  40. >NOPENOPENOPENOPENOPENOPE
  41. >”No! Wait! There has to be anoth-“
  42. >Purple light blanks out your vision, despite your helmet frantically cycling through filters trying to compensate.
  43. >Fucking psykers. You’ll feed Twilight her own eyes before you leave this place
  44.
  45.
  46. >Before you realize it, you’ve materialized. You fall to your knees, breathing in ragged gasps. You are still semi-blinded by the sorcery and it feels like your internal organs are on fire.
  47. >You hear Twilight and her gang surround you in worry.
  48. >”Are you alright Chosen?” Twilight asks with concern.
  49. >”Never... EVER do that AGAIN, psyker...” You growl at her.
  50. >A couple quick clip-clops tell you she’s backed away from you. “Sorry Chosen, I didn’t know it would hurt you so much.”
  51. >You don’t respond. Sensing your stressed body, your armor feeds combat stimulants and painkillers into your bloodstream, relieving the pain and heightening your focus.
  52. >Your vision returns.
  53. >Blinky is at eye level with you, and whines worryingly.
  54. >Grunting, you rise to your feet, your breathing becoming less labored.
  55. >You stand in a well kept garden, of all places, in front of what looks like a castle.
  56. >Not a very defensible one at that. It’s probably just a palace for the princess to waste away her days in.
  57. >Blinky chirps at your rising.
  58. >”Alright. Where is this princess of yours?”
  59. >”She’ll be in the Throne Room. It’s this way. Come on!” Twilight says, taking off ahead of you, followed by the other ponies.
  60. >You follow closely behind until you see a set massive oaken double doors, heavily gilded, with images of the sun emblazoned across it.
  61. >Two gold armored Pegasus guards stand at the door.
  62. >”Halt!” They notice your presence and they flinch, ever so slightly.
  63. >Twilight speaks up, “We have to see the Princess! Her life may be in danger!”
  64. >The guard brushes her off with a wave of his hoof. “The princess is not seeing anyone now. She is... in the middle of a private discussion with someone. Even we guards were sent out.”
  65. >”This is a matter of life and death! I think she would understand why we interrupted her!” Twilight says, a slight edge of desperation in her voice.
  66. >The guards remain adamant. “No one is allowed in until her highness is finished.”
  67. >Twilight sighs and turns to you. “I’m sorry Chosen. This has never happened before.”
  68. >You do not respond to Twilight.
  69. >”Her discussion can wait. I have more pressing matters to discuss with her highness,” you brusquely state as you push your way past the guards.
  70. >”Wait, stop!” The guards demand as you plant you ceramite boot into the center of the door with all your might.
  71. >The door blasts open under your strike, to reveal the throne room.
  72. >The autosenses in your helm drink in the sight, analysing every nuance of the room. It targets what you can only assume to the princess, a white horse xenos with both horn and wings.
  73. >A single threat rune blinks in your vision.
  74. >The sense then pick up the only threat in the room you care about.
  75. >Turning to face you are two marines.
  76. >One, a young, fresh faced Astartes in red scout armor turns to face you. The second, in blue and white power armor with a narthecium on his wrist,  stands and readies his bolter in response to your presence.
  77. >THREAT THREAT THREAT your helm flashes at you with worrying swiftness.
  78. >Stimulants flood your system in response to your heightened stress as you draw your bolter.
  79. >”LOYALISTS! YOUR END IS NIGH!”
  80. >You bring your bolter up and pull the trigger. It clicks dry.
  81. >YOU NEVER FUCKING RELOADED IT.
  82. >”Shit and piss and fuck!” You curse to yourself.
  83. >”Meet your end traitor!” The blue armored marine calls as his own bolter clatters on full auto.
  84. >You roll to dodge the fire, but not quite fast enough. Bolts gouge chunks of ceramite from your armor. You feel one get through.
  85. >Right in your gut. Fire and stinging pain lance through you in the short moments before painkillers flood you.
  86. >You roll behind a massive pillar as chunks of it fall from impacting bolt rounds. You can hear the marines advancing, their foot falls discernable even above their fire.
  87. >”For the Emperor!” A youthful voice shouts as a grenade clatters beside you.
  88. >No hiding. Time to show these corpse worshipping dicks the reason why all creatures fear the Night Lords.
  89. >You charge from around your cover, your lighting claws charging from your gauntlet, energy fields crackling as the grenade detonates harmlessly behind you.
  90. >You leap at the blue space marine, who’s bolter continues to chip away your armor.
  91. >He’s dead though. He just doesn’t know it yet
  92. >”FOR THE NIGHT HAUNTER!” You roar.
  93. >The blades lance downward towards the loyalists head. Chalk up another ki-
  94. >”ENOUGH!” A regal feminine voice booms through the throne room, shattering the windows and rattling your teeth in your helm.
  95. >Your arm refuses to move, as if gripped by the hand of a giant.
  96. >You now notice you have not hit the ground. You notice now a golden aura surrounding you.
  97. >WARP SORCERY
  98. >The loyalist’s bolters have stopped their firing as well, having been yanked from their grips by that same golden aura.
  99. >”WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS!?” The same voice booms again.
  100. >Enter Twilight Sparkle and her friends.
  101. >”Oh P-Princess, this is Chosen we found him in Everfree forest, and well... WEKINDAFOUNDTHISGUYANDHEWANTEDTOSEETHATCRASHEDTHINGIEBYFLUTTERSHY’SHOUSEANDCHOSENHADTOSEEYOUANDWARNYOUABOUTBLOODANGELSTHENALLTHISHAPPENED!” Twilight manages to get out in one nervous sentence.
  102. >The other ponies do not answer.
  103. >You see the blue-clad marine pull a combat knife from its sheath.
  104. >”APOTHECARY! SCOUT! PUT AWAY YOUR WEAPONS!”
  105. >The apothecary tries to protest, “Princess, he is a servant of the Ruinous powers! Of Chaos! We must kill him!”
  106. >Celestia pulls you within a few feet of her, locks your arms behind your back, and ask you forcefully, “Is this true?” A royal sneer paints her face.
  107. >”I am NO servant of the dark ones, WITCH. I AM MY FATHER’S SON!”
  108. >Celestia looks toward the blue marine, “Satisfied?”
  109. >”Such are the ways of heretics to lie and mislead us. We MUST end him.” The marine states flatly as he stands beside you.
  110. >”We must be sure he is telling the truth before we even think of banishing him.” Celestia replies.
  111. >”But we can’t trust anything he says, can we brother-apothecary? So how will we know if he’s telling the truth?” The younger astartes chimes in, rather unsure of himself.
  112. >”I’m a psyker, little scout, I can peer into his mind if I wish,” Celestia replies.
  113. >Panic momentarily paints your features. “Stay OUT of my mind, xenos,” You growl at her, teeth bared behind your helm.
  114. >The apothecary sceptically adds, ignoring you, “That may be so, but how do we know you won’t lie to protect him? You already stopped us from ending his life once already, who’s to say you won’t do so again?”
  115. >”Apothecary, you and Scout have been with me for several months now, and I have proven myself trustworthy, have I not?” Celestia gently smiles gently at the marine.
  116. >”Yes, but this is different! This is a Chaos Marine we are talking about! He has to die!”
  117. >”And you can be sure that if he does serve Chaos I will be the first to hurl him into the sun!” Celestia responds with added force.
  118. >The other ponies behind you gasp at this.
  119. >Wait, the other ponies!
  120. >”Twilight! Help me! Don’t let her do this! Girls please do something!” You’re practically pleading with them, though it sickens you to do so.  Such a shameful display of weakness.
  121. >Your pleading voice strikes the heartstrings of the ponies. “Celestia, isn’t there any other way we could do this? “
  122. “Chosen just wanted to try and warn you about the Blood Angels!”
  123. “ He was sorry he tried to hurt Pinkie Pie.”
  124. “ There has to be another way!”
  125. >Only Rainbow Dash does not come to your defence.
  126. > “I’m sorry girls, there is no other way,” Celestia sighs.
  127. > She turns her gaze back to you, ”It will only hurt if you fight it, Chosen.”
  128. > You stuggle harder against her psychic bonds, but to no avail. You steel yourself for the coming rape of your mind.
  129. >”Ave Dominus Nox. Ave Dominus Nox...” You chant quietly to yourself.
  130. >Celestia’s horn glows.
  131. >First, light.
  132. >Then, pain.
