  1. The Wild Ride [prologue]
  2. A Flutterrape story fresh from the oven, brought to you by nor/mlp/eople!
  3.
  4. >be Anon
  5. >wake up in some kinda wasteland after a long night of heavy drinking at home
  6. >you are all alone
  7. >this is the weirdest fucking dream you have ever had, normally you just get gloomy dreams
  8. >just roll with it
  9. >you get up off the ground and observe your surroundings
  10. >you're standing on a low hill in the middle of some plains
  11. >endless tides of grass in all directions
  12. >it looks like it was drawn, as if you're in some kind of a cartoon
  13. >of course you wouldn't know, because you never had a TV and you never watched anything as a kid, so you're just guessing based off of what you overheard your coworkers talking about
  14. >a calm breeze blows through the air, giving the grass the appearance of a green ocean
  15. >look up, you could guess it's high noon
  16. >fuck it, start walking in a random direction
  17.
  18. >after hours of walking, you are faced with steep hills
  19. >jesus fuck, how empty is this fucking place
  20. >it's steep enough that you need to use your hands to help you climb
  21. >minutes later, you're exhausted and want to just roll down the other side
  22. >when you see it
  23. >some sort of a village
  24. Bloody hell, it's about time.
  25. >pick up the pace as you carefully tread down the terrain and almost start running towards the village
  26. >you're almost there when you run out of breath and decide to stop just outside of the village's boundaries
  27. >you stand outside and take a look at the scenery
  28. >it seems to be a bunch of near-identical wooden houses with straw roofs, although there are some larger buildings near the center of the settlement
  29. >there are cobblestone roads separating all of these buildings and there are numerous trees and other shrubbery decorating the place
  30. >you could even see the top of what looks like a giant tree above all of these houses
  31. >check the sky
  32. >probably about five in the afternoon, as well as a handful of clouds all over the place
  33. >slowly walk into town
  34.
  35. >after minutes of walking, you start getting an eerie vibe
  36. >this place is fucking deserted
  37. >great
  38. >maybe you somehow managed to get yourself in a different country while you were drunk
  39. >or it's just the dream
  40. >yeah, that sounds good
  41. >keep walking around the settlement
  42. >it's bigger than you thought, it looks more like a town than a village, judging by the looks of all these houses
  43. >you bet that around a thousand or so people live here
  44. >while exploring, you managed to find a giant gingerbread house, man this place is weird
  45. >decide to go to that tree you saw earlier
  46.
  47. >it's a bit smaller than you thought, but there's some sort of a door and windows on the tree's trunk
  48. >so is this some sort of a house? You don't even...
  49. >upon closer inspection, you see that the door is roughly your height, if not shorter
  50. >maybe hobbits or elves live here
  51. >while pondering what kind of place this is while staring at the door, you see something move in one of the windows
  52. >you turn to look, but nothing's there
  53. >jaws.wav
  54. >you hear some voices
  55. >they appear to be arguing, while apparently trying to stay quiet
  56. >definitely elves or some shit
  57. >back away from the door and get a good distance from the tree
  58. >you'd rather not get murderized by angry dwarves for trespassing
  59. >get that felling that your'e being watched
  60. >as you turn around to look at the houses, several windows have curtains drawn over them just as your gaze passes by
  61. >better get the fuck outta here, you're getting antsy
  62.
  63. >you're walking quickly out of the town in the opposite direction that you came from
  64. >you have the feeling that you're being followed
  65. >look over your shoulder, something hides behind a bush
  66. >pick up the pace
  67. >you get the feeling that whatever is following you is getting closer
  68. >you hear some sort of footsteps behind you
  69. >but they don't sound like regular feet that would probably don footwear as well
  70. >sounds like... clopping?
  71. >oh shit, you've got either a centaur or a minotaur following you
  72. >NOPE
  73. >start running
  74. >hoofbeats grow faster and louder behind you
  75. >looking over your shoulder every few seconds, nothing is there
  76. >make a sharp turn to the left and hide in an alleyway
  77. >you flatten yourself against the wall, holding  your breath as something small and blue runs past you in the street
  78. >whatthefuckwasthat.png
  79.
  80. >catch your breath as quietly as you can
  81. >hoofbeats grow quieter until everything is almost silent
  82. >you gotta get outta here, something's after you and you could guess that it's after your blood
  83. >quickly check pockets
  84. >wallet, carton of cigarettes, zippo, phone, and a switchblade
  85. >you have no idea why you had a switchblade in your pocket when you were getting drunk in your own apartment, but whatever
  86. >look at phone
  87. >60% battery, no signal
  88. >goddammit
  89. >equip switchblade and cautiously peer out of alleyway
  90. >coast is clear, carefully walk out of the alley so that your shoes don't make any noise on the cobblestone path
  91. >the wind is rustling the leaves on the trees loud enough so that you would appear silent, but you sneak anyways just to be sure
  92. >only a few more houses left and then you're free
  93. >hear faint sound of wings flapping
  94. >whatnow.png
  95.
  96. >you head immediately darts upwards as you scan the skies
  97. >all clear, you still hear that flapping though
  98. >fuck it, just run
  99. >you take off as fast as your smoker lungs can carry you, the houses in that goddamn place becoming smaller every second
  100. >after a few good minutes you stop and sit down in the fields
  101. >fucking fields everywhere
  102. >well, on this side of the town there appears to be some mountains
  103. >looks like there's some sort of a structure on the side of one, but you can't tell what it is
  104. >fuckin'
  105. >flick switchblade and put it in your pocket, equipping cigs and zippo instead
  106. >cheap ass cigs, but they get you enough nicotine to get you through your day
  107. >put one in your mouth and you flick the zippo, trying to get a flame
  108. >please don't be fucking empty
  109. >keep flicking
  110. >you're so distracted with your miniature torch that you don't hear that flapping coming from above you until the last second
  111. >look up to see something blue rush at you at high speeds
  112. >everything goes dark
  113.
  114. [end of prologue part 1]
