Ever since returning to my sister, I enjoyed the splendors of court life to the fullest. Shining Armor and Cadence had welcomed a wonderful new filly, Flurry Heart. But with her birth ten years ago, a flurry of chaos befell the Kingdom of Equestria. A decade ago, as the Kingdom celebrated the coming of another princess, they came. Two legs to stand on, two more strange appendages on their upper body which they used to perform all sorts of tasks; they were humans. They came in a massive armada of large, black craft from the heavens. And using fear and superior technology, subjugated us to their rule. Their laws were strict, and their penal code was stricter. The human kingdom, or empire as they called it, seemed vast. From their descriptions, it spanned the whole galaxy. The Magni Imperium. Grand Empire. Our small planet was but a mere speck on their map, governed like all other specks by a military governor. Whereas just eleven years before, my sister, Twilight, Cadence and I had been powerful oligarchs, we were now reduced to just mere figureheads. Glorified public affairs agents. Our conquerors kept us plush and well-fed, in lavish quarters while they used the ordinary ponies in the countryside to harvest our abundant natural resources. It brought me tremendous pain, and was a nearly unshoulder-able burden, knowing of the misery around me, yet being powerless to help.     “Luna. Wake up.” A gentle tap on my wing causes me to stir. “Lulu. Wake up.” ‘Go away’, I think. ‘It’s too early to be bothering me!’ The gentle tap turns into a light tug. “Get up you lazy butt.” My motionlessness causes the tug to turn into repeated, slightly more forceful pulls. “It’s nearly noon. You have duties in the afternoon remember?” my assailer remarks. Nearly noon? Dang. I suck at waking up on time don’t I? So much for the ‘8-4 workday’. Rolling around to face the assailant, I stick my tongue out at them. It’s my personal Aide-de-Camp, Captain Friedrich Winter. One of the only humans I genuinely, and completely trusted. He is also one of my closest personal friends. “You’re lucky I didn’t vaporize you for being in my personal chambers.” He laughs, his blonde mane bouncing. “I’m constantly in here, remember? And besides, killing a human is punishable by death via burning at the stake, so I don’t think you’d really want to do that.” I laugh. “Well, then I’d run. I’d run away really fast and you guys wouldn’t be able to catch me.” I say as I trot into the bathroom. I hear Friedrich’s or Fred’s laugh as I start brushing my mane and teeth. “I don’t know about that… Major-General Chen has quite a knack for hunting down criminals and undesirables.”
