- “We should have you arrested for this!”
- “Why, whatever do you mean? You said you required assistance in removing the child.”
- “We thought you were experienced in medicine, or at the very least foal delivery! But that, my lady, was an ABORTION TECHNIQUE!”
- “But I got it out. And it looked quite unharmed.”
- “You don’t seem to understand….”
- Rarity and Dr. Stable were arguing by the door over her foal removal procedures. Twilight and Applejack were talking excitedly about the new addition to the group. Rainbow and Spike were huddled in the corner of the room, the disgusting visage of nature being too much for them to handle. Fluttershy, who was exhausted from the whole ordeal, was in a deep sleep, so deep that she had to be magically lifted so her afterbirth could be cleaned away.
- Fluttershy slept for the majority of the day. It was about 8:00 that afternoon when she was finally woken up by Nurse RedHeart.
- “Excuse me miss, I know you’re exhausted, but I think you would like to see the new addition to your family.”
- Even though she was groggy Fluttershy instantly perked up at the mention of her foal.
- “Please let me see my baby.” The yellow pegasus said softly, with a light simile on her face.
- As she said that, a bundle carried by magic was placed into the mother’s outstretched arms. She smiled as she brought the bundle close. Everyone in the room gathered around to see the newborn cuite.
- Fluttershy unwrapped the blankets from the fragile body within. She gasped when she saw her child.
- The foal in the blanket was a healthy young colt. He had a snow-white coat and his mane was light pink, just like his mother’s.
- “Oh Fluttershy, he’s so precious.”
- “He sure is a handsom lil’ thang ain’t he?”
- “And he’s a Pegasus! So, you’re gonna let me teach him how to fly, right?”
- “He is an absolutely strapping young colt. And look, he has both your eyes and mane, darling”
- “This is GREAT! Now I won’t be the only guy in the group. It’ll be just like having a little brother!”
- Fluttershy wasn’t paying any attention to her friends. She was completely focused on the child, her child. She was so overcome with joy that all she could do was stare into his large, pondering eyes and smile. For most of her life she dreamed of being a mother, to have a child of her very own to raise, take care of and love. But the prospect of dating, let alone finding a mate, was frightening to her. She began to look to animals as a replacement when she finally admitted to herself that it just wouldn’t happen. She made it her duty to nurture and care for all animals like she would a child. But she had one now and as far as she was concerned her life was now complete.
- As she gazed into the light blue eyes of her young colt he began to change. As if by magic several colored rings, all of a different color, appeared on his body at once.
- A yellow ring on each of his front legs.
- A purple ring on each of his back legs
- A green ring around his neck
- A Blue ring on his chest
- And a Red Ring circling the crown of his head.
- Everyone gasped and began yammering questions to the doctors, looking for an explanation.
- Eveyone except Applejack.
- “Yellow, Purple, Green, Blue, and Red,” she thought to herself, “Ah’ recognize those particular colors from somewhere…..but where?”
