Lich 5/5] Author: Xenorager Pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/FH8H5WWv First Edit: Monday 1st of December 2014 11:51:33 AM CDT Last Edit: Last edit on: Tuesday 7th of April 2015 01:48:29 AM CDT Character portrait: https://www.dropbox.com/s/76w8p1239o16w78/Lich-Garik.png?dl=0 Name: Garik The Returned Gender: Male Race: Griffon Wraith         Race skill: Griffon Flight: Griffons can fly, and have a +1 bonus to divebomb attacks from high altitude. This is about as taxing as running at full speed.         Race skill: Wraith: You are an affront to life, slowly decaying everything around you. Anyone who fails to recover from helplessness near you will have  less hits when they do recover, having one less hit for each failed attempt (they will always have at least 1 hit when they recover regardless of how many failed attempts). Plant life also slowly rots near you, and small animals avoid you.   Class: Lich (warlock)         Class Skill: Tartarian (Necrotic) Power: spell; demonic power fuels your minion, and their rolls are all critical, hit or miss, til combat ends or you take an action to end the effect; critfail makes target berserk, hostile, or possessed. Can target willing allies. The target can take an action to end the effect.   Skills:(1) Elementalist(ice): Ice: a target hit by ice grants an increased crit range for the next turn (10 becomes 9+, etc); this ice effect does not stack. Ice spells can be used to chill and freeze objects and the environment.   Magic Bolt (1): spell, recharge 2, ranged; this volatile energy attack deals one additional hit of damage, but crit-fails on 2-. This spell can apply one Elementalist effect when cast.   Raise Dead (1): spell, ranged; raises the freshly dead as a mindless undead minion. Undead have double the Hits they had in life, but no wounds. As long as they have more than one Hit remaining, any damage that would render them helpless instead leaves them at 1 hit. Once an Undead loses all hits, it crumbles to nothing. Crit fail summons a hostile undead. If no nearby corpses are available, the spell can still be cast with a crit fail range of 3-.   Talent:         Phylactery: You have sealed your spirit into a magical object called a “Phylactery”. As long as this object still exists, whenever you die, you may come back to life (at max hits, 1 wound), by possessing a nearby corpse. If no corpse is available you may still speak and move, in a kind of “astral projection” form, but cannot take actions or cast spells. You may possess raised corpses, as long as they were raised by you, if you do so there hits/wounds become Max/1 Wound regardless of their present HP. . Any body possessed by you is instantly reduced to a skeleton.   Hits/Wounds: 5/5 Weapon: Frozen Staff (Great): An unassuming staff, it appears to be made of a hardened ice rod with a pearl-like sphere affixed to the top. within this pearl hides a Lich's Phylactery, a device containing the disembodied soul of a lich and is the source of their eternal life. The entire staff is cool to the touch, with the pearl being painfully cold. Spears of ice jut from the main body, kept sharp and whole by the staff's passive magic aura.   Catalyst: The Phylactery, located within the staff's main gem, is the nexus of energy used for spells and abilities. Items:   Cloak: A ragged cloak, near permanently powdered with snow. Hardly capable of keeping one warm, though it is able to hide the face from view.   Frozen staff           Small pouch:                 - Heatgem: strange gem found within a crystal mine, generates intense light and heat when active                 - Red Gem: strange gem found within a crystal mine, channels magic through the clear facets on contact [Catalyst], deals wound damage on critfail.   Broken amulet head: the remains of a simple amulet, the gem long since missing from it's original position. condensation collects on the metallic edges, as if cooled from within.   Background: In this age of warm sun and bountiful harvest, very few have felt the bitter edge of winter. Fewer still recall the tragic tale of Garik Bloodbeak, the once proud heir to Bloodbeak manor. This ancient tale has largely been passed over, forgotten in time, yet few forget what remains of that young griffon. A cold husk of a creature, his presence an icy bite of winter to all around him. Those long dead rumors of evil magic have all but been confirmed, some going as far to say the work of a Lich is within him. Garik himself is a sullen creature, his motives imperceptible, his harsh voice and dour looks hinting at the work of undeath. By the state of his decaying body, one could assume the Griffon few could recall is long gone.
