- >Letting your eyes open up slightly you let them adjust to the piercing white light that's cascading around the room you're in.
- >And you have got to have the worst headache in the damn world right now.
- >Sitting up from a bed you don't remember being in you take a look around the room.
- >It seems to be a hospital. Judging by the clean, pure white walls and a tiny little metal machine.
- >Following the tube running from said box you find it to be attached as an IV to your right arm. Can't even feel it.
- >Looking farther you find your in some sort of hospital robe, but it's misshapen. That's not surprising as you're the only human you know of in this land.
- >A thought hits you that makes you get really nervous, where's your clothes. But most importantly, where's your gun?
- >Grabbing the IV with your left hand you pull it out slowly from your arm. Swinging your legs over you hop off the bed and onto the floor.
- >Standing you get the full extent of how wrong this gown is, it has to be at least 2-3 feet too long. But there's really big arm sleeves and a place for your neck.
- >What's around here that needs a gown like that?
- >Shaking the thought from your head you walk to the locker at the other end of the room.
- >Grabbing the handle you find it's unlocked. Opening it up reveals your clothes in a neatly folded pile, with your pistol still in it's holster. Resting on top.
- >Breathing a sigh of relief you strip down from the gown, your little Anon shivering in the brisk coldness of the room.
- >At the moment you grab your boxers the door opens up and Twilight steps inside, "Oh! Anon! You're...".
- >A blush creeps through her purple features as she tries to look away.
- >Lining up her line of sight brings you to your dick.
- >Well then.
- >Hurrying to get your boxers on you grab for your jeans.
- "It's usually bigger but I'm cold"
- >She sputters a bit as she tries to speak, "B-But I wasn't looking! I was just...going to ask you how you're feeling"!
- >The sheepish expression she has tells otherwise but you'll let her slide. You've had your fun anyway.
- "I feel fine thank you. What WAS that by the way? She did some weird thing with her horn, I started getting flashbacks of my life, then this horrible pain in my head and I started to scream."
- >Twilight looks really uncomfortable as you pull your shirt over your head and pick up your gun holster.
- "I blacked out after that. But I usually don't blackout at all, so I wonder why that happened, probably your magic you ponies have."
- >Twilight nods a slight bit, "That might be it Anonymous. You do feel fine don't you? You seem a little too calm despite what happened."
- "It'll take a bit more than that for me to freak out, don't worry about me".
- >You give her a small smile and a chuckle as you strap up the holster and make sure it's tight before sitting down to pull your socks on.
- >Twilight sees your socks and gets a very serious shade of red.
- "Umm, you okay Twilight"?
- >Twilight starts backing up slightly and shaking her head side to side, eyes shut tight.
- >"A-Anon...I don't think I can go through with this. I mean I have studies and we barely even know each other! Plus I don't think my parents would like me dating a predator and-"
- "What the hell. Are you talking about"
- >With one sock on you slip the other over your right foot as you go to grab your boots.
- "Hello? Anyone in there?"
- >You wave a hand in front of her face as she stares straight at you, as if she's in a trance.
- >Shaking her head side to side she starts to mumble to herself incoherently.
- >"B-But you had socks on...I-In front of me..."
- "Is that a problem?"
- >She straightens up and adopts a forced normality, "N-No. Well I guess you aren't aware of what socks are to us ponies...I'll say it quickly and to the point, ponies wear socks in front of those that they want to mate with. In other words, I thought you wanted to mate with me when you pulled the socks on. What, /do/ humans use socks for"?
- >With both boots strapped on you stand up and stretch.
- >A metal clattering sound rings through the room as Twilight's eyes drop to the floor.
- >Following her line of sight leads you to one of your magazines, which had picked this time to fall out of its pouch.
- >That god damn pouch never holds...
- >Bending over to pick the mag up you put it back in it's pouch. Making sure to make the strap taut.
- >"Ummm, what was that"?
- "It's called a 'magazine'. Ignorant people call them 'clips'".
- "Back to your other question. Humans use socks to protect our feet and keep them warm. Because the bottoms of our feet aren't that well made to put up with the cold. Nothing sexual about it".
- >Seemingly better off than she was in terms of surprise. Twilight beams a smile, "Well, now that /that's/ out of the way. Princess Celestia would like to speak to you, she was really worried after what happened yesterday".
- >Her face grew more serious as she went on, ending in a slight sad tone but still with that hint of calm and collectivity.
- "Alright, lead the way".
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- >You are Shooter. The half metal guard of Ponyville.
- >And you're thoroughly pissed right the buck off.
- >Standing in the conference room of the hospital, you're by Princess Luna's side as the two of you try to get Celestia to explain herself on why she immediately used a spell that was forbidden. And you're not happy with her Oh-so-logical response.
- >"He didn't say no. He was okay with it, I had no idea that he would have that kind of reaction."
- >Princess Luna was the first to speak, and she is just as furious as you are.
- >"He hadn't said no because he isn't familiar with magic and it's possible effects on non-magic creatures. He has no magic in his homeland! Haven't you read any of Shooter's report?"
- "Apparently not".
- >Celestia shoots you an angry glare. Which you return with a blown kiss to her and your signature asshole smile.
- >She gets ready to fire a retort when Princess Luna steps between the two of you, "We should be finding out why Anonymous has reacted the way he has to the spell, not bickering to each other like a bunch of colts and fillies. Now back to the topic at hoo-"
- >The door opens, and there stands Anonymous. With the purple one by his side.
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- >You followed Twilight down the hallway into a room off to the side, where upon entering you find Princess Celestia, Shooter, and another regal looking pony. Which you assume is Princess Luna.
- >Shooter gives you a nod and steps forward, "Hey there Anonymous, this is Princess Luna" , he motions to the dark blue pony who gives you a smile.
- >You bow in the nicest manner you can.
- "Honored to meet you Princess Luna".
- >"As am I Anonymous".
- >Shooter pops a smirk, "The brain killer is here too as you can see-"
- >"SHOOTER"
- >Both Princesses had shouted at once to Shooter, in a volume that you couldn't comprehend. You're pretty sure your eardrums are shot.
- >"Ahhh buck that always hurts..."
- >Shooter is hitting his left ear much like you are hitting yours.
- >The metal clanking noise coming from him kind of adds a humorous tone to it though.
- >Princess Celestia hurries towards you, worry and panic coming over her, "Anonymous! Are you okay? Is everything alright?"
- >She gets awfully close, close enough you can see your own reflection in her eyes.
- "Y-Yeah I'm alright. No biggie, just have a pretty bad headache that's all".
- >You dare not tell her about the laughing. You need time to figure out for yourself what the hell that was.
- >Smiles adorn all the ponies' faces at the news. Well, besides Shooter who looks bored and is fiddling with something on his leg.
- >Clearing your throat you sit at a chair at the table. Wiggling yourself into it as it's a bit too short, your knees are level with your diaphragm.
- "So, you called the Princess here a 'brain killer', does what she did actually cause brain damage"?
- >Slight anguish washes over Princess Celestia as you bring up the question to Shooter.
- >Shooter puts a metal hoof to his chin, seemingly deep in thought.
- >"Well, one of the long term effects of that little spell on non-magical creatures sometimes is memory loss. You have anything you can't remember"?
- >Thinking on it. You can't remember if you can't remember anything...
- >That counts, right?
- "At the risk of sounding redundant Shooter. I can't remember if I forgot anything".
- >Three small chuckles come from Shooter, Twilight, and Luna respectively. A slight warmth in your cheeks are the only things that voice your embarrassment.
- >Celestia on the other hand still has a look of worry on her face.
- >You move to reassure her.
- "Don't worry about it Princess. It doesn't seem to be hurting me so I'm fine, no worries".
- >She still looks stricken. You don't know why, Luna seems to be getting uncomfortable with Celestia's state.
- >"Sister, why don't you go back to the castle? I can finish things up here".
- >With a slow nod Celestia exits the room, soon to be flanked by her guards and out of sight.
- >Turning back towards Luna she's looking at you with an intense concern, "Anonymous, with my sister gone we can get down to the bottom of your hallucination under my sister's probe spell".
- >What. You never told them about the laughing...
- "How did you-"
- >She holds up a hoof in a signal to stop talking, which you oblige her and shut your mouth.
- >"My sister and I have powers on two sides of a spectrum. Where her magic is more of a grand scale and very powerful, mine is very subtle but still powerful in it's own right. I can do things my sister cannot, and vice versa. I knew what you were experiencing last night as my sister had placed her probe spell upon you. As she had done the exact same thing to me many years ago, which incidentally, lead to the ban of the spell by my sister herself. Though not many ponies could ever hope to cast it".
- >You stand there, wondering how much they really know about you already. Does she know the dream you had? That was much more vivid, but you chalked it up to the stress of landing in another universe. You've never had a dream like that before...
- "I have to ask though. I told the Princess that I'm okay. It's really true I feel fine, but why did she still look worried and hurt? Does she not believe me"?
- >Luna looks like she's debating on telling you something, "Well, put it this way. The last time she had performed that spell she set in motion a series of events that led to a lot of conflict and shattered relations. If you want to know more, Twilight will have a book in her library about it. Just look up 'Nightmare Moon'".
- >Twilight, who had been quiet this entire time besides wishing Celestia a farewell. Had gasped pretty sharply, bringing up your curiosity.
- "Do you have a book on Nightmare Moon"?
- >She nods her head quickly, flicking glances with her large, purple eyes towards Luna.
- >Luna whispers something in Shooter's ear, in which he replies, "Understood, Your Highness".
- >He turns towards you, "We will have to leave for now, the official paperwork for your induction into the guard will happen tomorrow at 10 A.M sharp. I'll meet you at the library if that's where you're still staying".
- "It is where I'm still staying, right?"
- >You ask Twilight this when she smiles warmly, "Of course Anonymous. What kind of friend would I be if I just kicked you out"?
- "Well I'm glad you're my friend then Twi".
- >Twilight's smile almost lights up the room, "So am I Anon".
- >With a nod from Shooter and a warm farewell from Princess Luna the two of them leave the room. The clanking of Shooter's front legs fading away down the hallway.
- >"So Anonymous, I don't think you really got to talk to Fluttershy have you? She's out of the hospital now but we can visit her at her house".
- >You nod to her and smile.
- "That would be good. I don't like being in hospitals very much. Though you guys took great care of me, even if I am something the ponies haven't seen in their life".
- >"Well, you do resemble a minotaur. And we do occasionally have minotaur patients from what I've seen, so my guess is they treated you as one".
- >You do a double take at the mention of minotaur.
- "You guys have minotaurs here too? Jesus...".
- >"Jesus? Who's that?"
- >You look to her as the both of you exit out into the hallway.
- "No one, just an expression us humans use".
- >She nods her head as you both walk down the hallway, dodging the occasional doctor or nurse.
- >"Can I ask you something Anonymous"?
- "Go for it"
- >She seems to think over something before she looks up to you as you two approach the front door to the hospital.
- >"Don't get me wrong when I say this Anonymous. But why are you so calm about all this"?
- >You slow yourself and ask her what she means by that.
- >"Well, you've been transported into a world completely foreign to you. There's nopony else like you here except for maybe the minotaurs, and you've lost everypony you love and care for. How are you so calm? I've been trying to figure it out but I haven't thought of any legitimate reason for your odd composure".
- >You snigger a bit at her as the two of you walk towards the library.
- "Well, my father had always taught me to be calm and collected no matter what happens. That way the solution will always show itself to you, and you will always know the way. No one has ever had anything good come out of a heated and rash decision driven by emotion, and not a cool head and a good brain".
- "So, I guess with what life has given me here, I can still be happy that I'm alive and well. So it doesn't bother me so much as it originally was yesterday, I did freak out a good bit didn't I"?
- >Twilight giggles a bit, "Just a little bit Anonymous, are you sure you're okay though? I can't imagine how hard it must be to be the only one of my kind left. You can talk to us you know, if you're having trouble with adjusting".
- "Thank you Twilight, that means a lot to me. I am fine though, I've never been one to really get very emotional about things. Like I said yesterday was a lot to take in, so I guess now it's now time for me to adjust and get used to living here. I have a job starting tomorrow from what Shooter had said so I have that taken care of, so we're just going to have to see what happens next".
- >Twilight dodges a pothole in the ground while the two of you walk, "Well it's good to see you're taking things well. I still can't imagine if that happened to me".
- "Well, let's hope you still have to imagine it huh"?
- >Twilight gives a warm smile as the two of you stroll through what looks to be the center of town.
- >Passing the tower in the middle of the square you gaze up into the sky.
- >Clear, bright, and blue. Like you're standing inside of a marble.
- >A world away from the smog and grey overlap that you were used to back on Earth. The air also has a crisp, fresh quality to it. As if it was manufactured, as if it were right out of a movie, a cartoon.
- >Heh, seems like one, pastel colored ponies are everywhere. Your skin still holds the same tone and texture as normal though, wonder why that is...
- >"And that way you can have your own home! Doesn't that sound nice"?
- >Oh dammit you spaced out again.
- "Sorry Twilight, whatever you said blew right over my head. Spaced out a bit there".
- >She throws a slight look of disdain at you. Which you reply with a nervous chuckle and an automatic scratch on the back of the head.
- >"Well, in short we might be able to fund the construction of a home for you. One that accommodates your extra height. It'll be a while because we have to approve the project, the funding comes from a public fundraiser for housing rare and mythical creatures. I'm sure we can use that, and-".
- "Wait, I appreciate it, but I think I should use the money I'll be getting from the guard job to build a home. I'm able to work so it isn't a big deal, I can help out with any bills you would have until I can get my own place".
- >She has a questioning look on her already expressive face, "Are you sure? It can be a lot of bits for that. Especially with the size house you would need, if this morning was anything to go by".
- "This morning? What was I doing this morning"?
- >Twilight slightly rocks her head side to side as you pass SugarCube Corner on the way to the Library.
- >"I was watching how you had to be at a slight bend in every part of the house besides the main area. I just think it can't possibly be comfortable for you to do that".
- >At this point you notice that you shrug too much.
- "It's fine, I used to work at a job where I had to walk through very small pipes and clean the gunk and crappy bits out. I'm used to crouching and stuff".
- >"That...doesn't sound very fun".
- >Your hands find their way onto the top of your head as the two of you approach the front door to the library.
- "Nope, it really wasn't. But it was the only thing I had in the town I lived in, it was either that or no job at all".
- >She looks a bit horrified, "That sounds terrible! Why wasn't there anything else you could do"?
- >You throw your hands up defensively.
- "Hey hey, calm down a bit. It wasn't all bad, just a little cramped. The town I lived in was very small so there wasn't a lot of local jobs I could get. I wasn't old enough to drive a car yet so I could only have a job within the town".
- >A small pushing feeling sprung up on your right leg, looking down is a small pony kid. His light brown body trembling so bad his yellow hair is shaking in place, "S-s-s-s-s-sorry! I-I didn't mean to! T-they pushed me"!
- >Following his hoof reveals a small group of them, looking at you like you're some sort of museum piece. Or a science experiment for a better analogy.
- >You can't really be mad at them, you've caught yourself staring at these ponies also. You should expect some staring back.
- >Well, time to be a nice person and stuff.
- "Well that's fine. My names Anonymous, and that".
- >You point at your car.
- "Is not to be touched if you value your hooves".
- >"Anon! That's not very nice"!
- >You crouch down to be eye level with the colt.
- "I'm just kidding, but seriously that thing will hurt you if you hit the wrong spots. I wouldn't go near it if I were you, but my name is Anonymous. I won't hurt you, in fact my job now is to protect you and your friends from harm".
- >The colt's eyes widen, "Really? That's cool".
- >With a smile and a nod you stand back up and head towards the door.
- "You three behave alright"?
- >All them nod their head yes and scuttle off, leaving you to go back inside.
- >"That was nice of you Anonymous, even though the first thing you said wasn't", her stern gaze somehow pierces you more than you thought it would.
- >Another defensive hand raise as the two of you step into the main room in the middle of the library.
- >You sit on the couch in the middle as Twilight continues into the kitchen, eyeing some books you get back up to grab them off of the shelf.
- >Without reading the spine you flip the book open to the first chapter.
- >"Gardening for the Beginner Green Hoof"
- >Nope.
- >Putting it back and finding another book you actually read the spine this time, "Equestria and It's Surrounding Nations".
- >Seems interesting enough, flipping to the first page shows the same map that Shooter has shown you when he was here. Except this one is a bit more worn out.
- >Slowing down to look over it reveals you are around what looks to be where North Carolina and Tennessee meet. Around where Canton, North Carolina was, you remember going to a weight loss camp there in the mountains.
- >Memories of your initial hatred of the place and everything in it sprung up. You had no video games, no TV, no nothing. But soon you grew to like the hiking, the camping, the bike riding, the kayaking, everything.
- >For that sole reason you were able to keep all that weight off, get our grades up in school, get a degree, job, and pretty much anything you ever wanted.
- >"Anonymous"?
- >Snapping out of your reverie you look up from the map upon Twilight's large, expressive eyes.
- "Yeah"?
- >Twilight looks like she's going to burst from excitement all of the sudden.
- >"If it doesn't bother you, can I ask you some questions about your world and humans in general? I've been trying to keep myself calm but being the first to discover and interview a new species is just too overwhelming! If-".
- >Three hard and slow knocks come from the front door, interrupting Twilight's fast, excited speech.
- >As she walks to the door, the calm and deep voice of Shooter muffles through the door.
- >"I need to speak to Anonymous quickly, please open the door".
- >Twilight complies as you get up from the couch and stand behind her.
- >Shooter doesn't wait for any formalities as he walks past us into the main room and turns around, facing you and Twilight.
- >"Your introduction into the guard will have to be early, there's a problem that has just arisen and it seems to be a perfect opportunity to test your mettle, so to speak".
- >You beat Twilight to the punch.
- "What problem"?
- >"Well, to put it nicely there's a couple of diamond dogs that had kidnapped a colt and a filly about 5 minutes ago. I had just heard about it form the mayor, now I usually would do this by myself but I decided to bring you along".
- >A disgusted sort of sound comes from Twilight as she stamps her front hooves on the floor, "There's colts and fillies in danger and you're just standing there?! I'll get them"!
- >Shooter doesn't budge as Twilight tries to push past him, and because he takes up about 99% of the doorway. Twilight just can't walk past him either.
- >A frustrated scream lets itself loose from Twilight, "GET. OUT. OF. MY. WAY".
- >"No, you're a civilian. You will not interfere with guard OR military matters, regardless of your closeness to Celestia".
- >Twilight's horn glows a soft purple, she repeats herself. "Get out of my way Shooter! Me and my friends have already defeated Nightmare Moon! You think some Diamond Dogs will be a problem"?
- >Two fast beeping noises ring through the room and Twilight's horn goes back to normal.
- >"What? What did you do"?!
- >"Magic nullification, now that you are essentially rendered useless because you are a unicorn. Me and Anonymous here can do our job".
- >He looks up to you, "Are you ready? Bring whatever weapons or gear you want. It shouldn't take long though".
- >As Twilight storms upstairs, you nod to Shooter.
- "Yeah, I'm ready to go".
