>You are Anon

>Recently you got your hands on some 'magic' bleach

>Get drunk as fuck one night

>Accidentally pour out bleach into glass

>realise what you just did

>Oh shit

>Collapse on the floor and die

>Wake up

>In Equestria

>That bleach really is magic

>No money

>No food

>No home

>You spend most of the day begging for money

>Oh boy, what a great way to start a new life

>You manage to gather a few bits before the end of the day

>The sun soon slips below the horizon

>You sleep on a park bench for the night

 

>Day 2 in Equestria

>The first thing you see is a pair of ponies in an official looking uniform

>They are both giving you a stern look

>"Sir, please come with us."

>You comply

>You are led into town hall

>You are greeted by a beige mare, who introduces herself as mayor of Ponyville

>Alongside her is a purple pony that looks half drunk

>The town has decided to give you a place to live until you can sustain yourself

>Probably because nopony can stand seeing you on the streets

>You will be living with the other pony

>She says her name is Berry Punch

>She takes you to her house

>The smell of cheap beer greets you as the front door opens and you walk into the corridor

>there's empty cans everywhere

>Just like your old home

 

>Rest of the day is uneventful

>You just sit around at the park watching the world go by

>Sun is going down

>You go back to your 'home'

>She isn't home

>It's only a 1 bedroom house

>You settle on sleeping on the sofa

>It's pretty uncomfortable, but you manage to fall asleep

>You wake up

>It's still dark outside

>You hear the door slam shut

>You can hear hoofsteps heading towards Berry's room

>You're sure you can hear her crying in there

>You brush it off and fall back asleep

 

>Day 3

>You wake up, and this time it's light outside

>Berry is making breakfast

>You ask if she was ok last night

>She tries to avoid the question

>She's definitely hiding something

>But now isn't the time to find out

>You need to start looking around for a job

>There's a cafe that has a sign advertising job vacancies

>Better than nothing

>You ask the staff about getting a job

>You are given a quick interview

>They must be desperate for someone to work there given how fast you were hired

>All you had to do was show them if you were any good at cooking

>Luckily, you are

>Because they're so short on staff, you start working

>At least you'll earn a few 'bits'

 

>Day is over

>You go home

>Berry isn't in

>You're just sitting around on your own, doing nothing

>You decide to go out somewhere

>Maybe Ponyville has some decent bars

>Eventually you find one, not too far away from where you live

>You spend some time there, buying a few drinks and just having fun

>Totally beats sitting around at home doing nothing

>You try to pick up a few mares, but fail miserably every time

>You see a familiar mare heading towards the bar

"Hey Berry!"

>"Oh hey Anon, didn't expect to see you here."

>She's definitely drunk

>"So what're you doing down here then?"

"Thought I'd go out somewhere tonight."

>You sit and chat for a while

>You don't want to get too drunk

>While you hold off on the drinks, Berry keeps buying more throughout the night

>You wonder where she gets the money to pay for it all

 

>Eventually you decide to call it a night

>"Seeya *hic* Anon"

>She arrives at home shortly after you

>"A-Anon?"

"Yes?"

>"D-do you *hic* like me?"

>This won't end well at all

"I-"

>"Of course you don't like me! I'm a fucking train wreck of a mare that spends half the day at home and the other half getting drunk! What is there to like about me?"

"Berry I-"

>"You what? Don't want to live here anymore? Don't want to see my fucking face again? I don't blame you, nopony wants to be around me, I'm just the town drunk that nopony likes! If you really want to leave, you can at any time you want."

>She looks down at the floor, with tears in her eyes

>"I'm such a terrible person..."

>You wrap an arm around her shoulder

>You didn't think about it, it just came naturally

"Berry, you're a great person, and a great friend."

>"No, I'm not. You're just trying to make me feel better."

"I'm not lying, I really mean it. You've been kind enough to let me live here after I arrived in Equestria. I'd be nowhere without you."

>"Even if you're here or not, I'd still be nowhere."

"You can be someone,  somewhere, you just don't try."

>"I DO try, and I fail every time! How often do YOU put your best effort into everything only to find it's never enough?"

"That's exactly how I got here."

"I never thought I could do anything with my life, I was just a miserable failure. I couldn't see any point in continuing. Every night I would get completely wasted to drown away my sorrows, which only came back worse each day. One night I must have got too drunk and done something..."
