>The weather is perfect, not a cloud in the sky
>You look north, and see Canterlot in the distance
>Damn, it would be hella good to be up there
>To rule
>It won't be easy
>But you will do it
>You must do it
>You need a plan
>You remember Twilight's brother is Captain of the Guard
>Who is also married to a princess
>It's the perfect way in
>You just need to wait for the right moment
>You manage to persuade Twilight to take you to Canterlot
>After a beer, of course
>Maybe two
>You lose track of how many more you have
>Shit, you're on the floor again
>You pass out
 
>You wake up in a hospital
>"He's awake!"
>Twilight is next to you, looking concerned
>In front of you stands the Nurse, who is giving you a stern look
>"This is the third time this week! You can't stop throwing your body away like this!"

>You hear they sell beer in the main lobby
>You get an idea, and a devious smirk appears on your otherwise featureless face
>You sneak to the main lobby and take as much as you can
>After some complicated rewiring, you replace your water supply with beer

>By the time you're admitted to leave you're only just able to walk
>You stumble to your home
>Maybe Canterlot can come tomorrow
 
>You wake up hung over
>Just like every other day
>You walk over to Twilight's library
>This time there won't be any setbacks
>She is ready to go and has the tickets prepared
>Good thing too, you're far too cheap to buy any
>The train journey is boring, there isn't even a service trolley
>You arrive in Canterlot after a couple hours of travel
 
>You ask twilight about getting into the guard
>She says Shining would be better to talk to, being that he's captain and all
>You arrive at her old house
>Her parents and Shining are there
>You share introductions
>You manage to get into a conversation with Shining
>You ask what it's like to be in the guard
>He starts telling of his experiences as captain
>You finally have the oppurtunity to ask if you could join
>"Are you sure? It's not as easy as it looks."

>This is the best way to gather information about the castle
>And that's exactly what you need
>You need to pass an entry exam
>You are given situations that a typical guard would have to face
>Castle intrusion, for example

>You jump in the bed and fall asleep

>First day on the guard
>You're alone
>In the castle
>You decide to go to the dungeon
>Maybe some of the prisoners would agree that Equestria needs a change of rule
>It's pretty dark, but you can find you way
>You call out to see if anyone is down here
>You hear a grunt in reply
>You look around, checking if there are any other guards down here
>There aren't
"Hey, how'd you feel if someone else takes the throne of Equestria?"
>You've grabbed his attention
>But he doesn't respond
"To elaborate, recently I've been planning on taking Equestria for myself, and nearly all the pieces are in place. I can get you out of here, if you stay loyal to me in return."
>He considers the idea
>"What've I got to lose?"
>You take the keys
"If you try to backstab me you'll never see light again."
>The chains fall to the floor with a clunk
>"What's yer name anyway?"
"Anonymous."
>"Pleasure to meet you Anonymous, the name's Storm."
 
 
 
>You manage to sneak out without difficulty
>Good thing there was a spare set of armour around, Storm would have been spotted and the entire operation would be ruined, was would your chances of ruling Equestria

>You begin spreading rumours while on duty, and eventually it gets to the princesses
>She tries to remain calm
>The rest of the elements are sent to Canterlot
>The rumour is spreading throughout Canterlot
>The city is in chaos
>Mass panic spreads on the streets
>Celestia struggles to keep it under control
>Now is a good opportunity to take power
 
>You start rounding up townsfolk
>You convince them that Celestia and Luna have already been taken and replaced by the changelings
>They break into the castle
>The entire guard patrols the corridors
>among them is Shining Armor
>He's a friend
>But fuck him, he'll just get in your way
>You reach the Princess' chambers
>Celestia is stunned in surprise
>Somehow she is knocked out
>Tied up and thrown in the dungeon
>Now leaves Luna
>Even easier
>It's daytime, she'd be asleep
>Reach her room
>Do the same to her as done to Celestia
>Nobody to rule
>Mission complete
>You sit on the throne, a smug grin on your face
>The ponies in front of you now your subjects
>Storm next to you
>You give a quiet whisper to yourself
"Thank you, Discord."
>Feels good to be king
