- >You entered Luna's room the next morning, you yourself having stayed up in case she called.
- >She was sleeping soundly, the covers of her bed rising and lowering slowly.
- >You walked over to the nightstand, which had the pitcher, glass, and bowl of soup resting on it.
- >The soup had gone cold long ago, and would be unfit to feed her at this point.
- >You take the bowl and put it back out on your little hospital on wheels.
- >Luna stirs, then awakens.
- >"...Anonymous...is that you?"
- >Her voice is still weak.
- "Morning, Luna. Feeling better?"
- >She shivers in bed.
- >"I'm afraid not," she coughs, "Oh, when will this accursed fever pass?"
- "Soon," you try to comfort. "I'll take care of you until it does."
- >She coughs again.
- >She pulls the covers even tighter towards herself.
- >"I'd assume it's best to fight it out..."
- "It'd be for the best, princess. There aren't any medicines for whatever you have, so I've gotta monitor you for as long as I can."
- >"But why you, Anonymous? What was it that made you so eager to care for me...?"
- "I can't care for one of the princesses? Besides, I'm sure your usual nurses couldn't handle constantly monitoring you for over a week."
- >You pour her another glass of water, and hand it to her.
- >She takes it in her hooves and gulps it down.
- >When she's done, you take the glass back and set it back on her nightstand.
- >"You have determination, Anonymous. Know that if you fall ill because of me, I will repay the favor."
- >The thought of Luna taking care of you gives you the warm fuzzies.
- "You don't have to do that. I'm sure you'd be busy with royal duties."
- >She moves around in her bed, getting comfortable.
- >"But I insist. Your persistence will pay off somehow, Anonymous."
- >She rubs her eyes.
- >"Now, could I have more soup? It was delicious..."
- >You happily go back to your cart and grab the thermos again, pouring a new bowl for her.
- >You pick out a new spoon and return.
- >She eyes you as you approach, looking hungry.
- >You kneel down next to her and feed her more soup.
- >She eats it slowly, just as she had last night.
- >This time, though, the entire bowl is emptied.
- >You set it on the nightstand.
- >One of her hooves flops out from under the covers.
- >"The worst part of being sick is the boredom..."
- >She erupts into a coughing fit.
- >You pour her more water, which she drinks quickly.
- >"Thank you, Anonymous."
- >She rubs her eyes again.
- >You take the hoof that had flopped out and massage it.
- >She breathes a relieved sigh.
- >"Anonymous, do you have any entertaining stories to tell?"
- >You considered that thought for a moment.
- >"It would certainly cure me of this boredom."
- "You ever heard the story of Wuthering Heights?"
- >She shakes her head.
- >"Please, tell me."
- >It was the first thing that popped into your head, really.
- >Regardless, you tell her the tale of the tragedy, and she listens intently.
- >She is intrigued by the disaster Heathcliff had created.
- >"Why would he go so far for that revenge, Anonymous?"
- >You shrug.
- "Must have just really wanted to show how passionate he was about Catherine."
- >She nods.
- >"Another story, Anonymous?"
- >Her eyes shine expectantly, despite her sickness.
- "Alright, how about The Great Gatsby?"
- >A couple hours pass as you tell her Nick's story.
- >By the end, she's half asleep.
- >"Entertaining...as always...Anonymous..."
- >You had been massaging her hoof the entire time.
- >That might have helped lull her to sleep.
- >You put the hoof back under the covers and tuck her in.
- >She rolls on her side as her breathing begins to slow.
- >You take the empty soup bowl and place it back on the cart to wash.
- >You leave the pitcher and glass, in case she wakes up for a drink.
- >You exit the room and bump into her sister, who is as concerned as you are.
- >She looks down at you, her eyes full of worry.
- >"Anonymous, is she going to be alright?"
- >You'd been intensely taking care of Luna for the past week, waiting on her for everything she needed.
- >You would be damned if she didn't get better.
- >You flash the sun princess a reassuring smile.
- "Y'know what? I think she'll be just fine."
