  1. >For one thing, you weren't gonna become Greyjoy 2.0.
  2. >Abusing your powers, while it'd have some funny results, was kind of bad.
  3. >You decided you'd just roam the castle, and deal with anything that you bumped into.
  4. >You went back inside to explore around the places Celestia had shown you.
  5. >And maybe a couple others.
  6. >You'd been strolling along until bumping into someone.
  7. >You weren't really paying attention to where you were walking anyways.
  8. >You rub your chest to numb the pain of hitting someone.
  9. >"Hey...I remember you..."
  10. >You decided to look down at who you hit.
  11. >The head chef.
  12. >"That little scuffle we had put me in the hospital for a couple days. They were worried I'd suffered a concussion."
  13. >He leers at you.
  14. >"Thanks for worrying my family, bub."
  15. >You put your fists up, ready for another round.
  16. "You wanna go again? Bring it."
  17. >He stares at you.
  18. >"I ain't stupid. For your information, your little stunt has convinced me that cookin's too dangerous."
  19. "Wait, dangerous?"
  20. >"Yep. Every day I'm in that kitchen, I'm gettin' bumped n' cut by something. As much as I like all them other chefs, I think I'm throwin' in the apron."
  21. >He moves past you.
  22. >"I was just on my way ta tell Celestia. I hope she ain't too let down."
  23. >He was quitting?
  24. >But who would replace him?
  25. >You decide to follow him, and try to convince him to stay, if just for Celestia.
  26. "Hey, wait up."
  27. >You walk next to him, then match your pace with his.
  28. >"Whaddaya want?"
  29. "If you leave, who's going to take over?"
  30. >"The sous chef, obviously."
  31. "But won't they miss you? I mean, you look a bit young to be quitting something I'm sure you worked hard for."
  32. >"Sorry bub, but my own safety's more important. After all, I can't really cook with 'em if I'm too hurt, right?"
  33. "Well how is it that you keep getting hurt in the kitchen? Seems odd that you're in pain every day, right?"
  34. >"As much as I like them co-chefs, they can be a bit incompetent. They have stuff lying out all around the kitchen even after cleanup. I can't tell ya how many times I've slipped on a frying pan or cut myself on a stray knife."
  35. >That kitchen was in a bit of a bad state, it seemed.
  36. >Shame on them, they're cooking for Celestia!
  37. >They should be more organized.
  38. >"Your challenge yesterday was just the final straw, bub. I ain't even mad at ya. In fact, I'm kinda glad ya did that. Made me realize that I needed ta quit."
  39. >He puts a hoof on your shoulder.
  40. >"So, thanks for that."
  41. "Well, won't the sous chef have the same problem as you, now? You're putting him in the same position as you are."
  42. >Ah, the old guilt trip.
  43. >He stops and thinks.
  44. >"Ah...you're makin' me think, bub. Almost reconsidered there."
  45. >You had him, dammit.
  46. >He continued walking.
  47. "How about Celestia? I'm sure she'll miss you."
  48. >He stops again.
  49. >"You're killin' me, bub. Why do ya want me to stay?"
  50. >He raises an eyebrow at you.
  51. "Because...because I'm sure Celestia liked you! I mean, you made her some great food together with that team, didn't you?"
  52. >He looks down and puts a hoof on his chin.
  53. >"Yeah...she loved all the meals we collaborated on..."
  54. >He looks at you again.
  55. >"But really, bub, I don't think she'll need me that bad. As much as I hate leaving the service of tha Princess, I feel like I gotta do it."
  56. >He sniffs.
  57. >"Shame, too. My daughter loved gettin' ta meet her."
  58. >He keeps walking.
  59. >At this point, you know where he's headed.
  60. >The throne room.
  61. >If you could stop him before he got there, you might be able to convince him to stay.
  62. >You thought to yourself.
  63. >He was constantly hurt in the kitchen, and the cooking team needed some cleaning tips.
  64. >Or some organization ones, too.
  65. >Should you volunteer to be some kind of kitchen-medic?
  66. >No, that'd be ridiculous.
  67. >Plus, you were no medical expert.
  68. >The two of you made it to the throne room.
  69. >Thinkthinkthinkthink...
  70. >Greyjoy rubbed off on you, didn't he?
  71. >Wait, Greyjoy!
  72. >Hypnosis!
  73. >You could hypnotize this guy to stay, right?
  74. >On the other hand, an idea popped up in your head at this moment that you think would convince him to stay.
  75. >You could volunteer to be some kind of health-inspector/side-chef...thing.
  76. >Of course, doing that would require going through Sunbutt, too.
  77. >But you were in her good graces.
  78. >She'd probably be okay with that, right?
