>"Now, the first trick to hypnosis is to get your victim, er, subject, to lower their mental guard."

>You weren't an expert on hypnosis, but that didn't sound like how it worked back home.

>"For example: talk them into a conversation where they feel relaxed and comfortable. Don't discuss subjects they would become defensive of. The trick is to reel them in with a nice chat."

"Right."

>"The next rule is to make eye contact. I'm sure you understand how vital this is."

"What if you're not gonna use your eyes though?"

>"We'll get into that later. Right now we're focusing on the easier methods."

>He circles you, keeping an eye out for other ponies.

>"Along with the previous steps, it helps to change the tone of your voice. Did you notice how I addressed the Princesses earlier?"

>You remembered the conversation he had with the royal sisters. His voice had a bit of a seductive undertone to it.

"Wait, seriously? Changing your voice?"

>He shrugs.

>"I've always found it helps. Maybe it's different for others. I find I can pull it off because of my handsome appearance and smooth voice."

>He smirks as he strokes his ego.

>"But getting back on track, it helps when you appeal to a sense. I've found through experimentation that all five senses are vulnerable. Even sexual appeal works."

>He chuckles.

>"But I suppose that would count as seduction."

>You were definitely sure this wasn't how hypnosis worked back home. Maybe it was just different for Equestria?

>"So maybe you put on a certain cologne or pretty yourself up. Every bit helps."

>He clears his throat.

>"When their guard has completely dropped, you must make your move. Using whatever presence to appeal to a sense that you have, try and bring attention to it. Make sure the appeal is strong, otherwise it will not work. Get them so entranced in the appeal that they surrender their thoughts to it. You have to subtly convince them to give in. When they no longer are capable of rational thought and are overly focused on the appeal, begin to make suggestions. They will be subconsciously listening to you, and will begin to fall under your spell. I recommend putting them to sleep before anything else, so they do not suddenly break from the trance."

>He finished with a cough.

>Well, that was informative.

>"Now, any questions? Or would you like to move on?"
