  1. >You're Celestia
  2. >And currently you're very mad
  3. >The object of your fury? The little creature in front of you.
  4. >Last night, you spent hours looking for the source of the nastiest cries you have ever heard in your life
  5. >And you've lived a lot
  6. >The rest of the night, after finding the little ape-like creature named Anon, was spent looking for said creature, who seemed to be far too adventurous for your own good.
  7. >But your anger comes from a deeper wound.
  8. >It's not the fact that he kept you up nor that you were worried sick about him either, but that he ate your secret stash of top-secret cookies for emergencies.
  9. >You look back at him, making sure to turn on your evil-eye, only to have it melt down into a lovingly look.
  10. >Anon is currently looking at you from your bed. You found him asleep and covered with cookie crumbs, a satisfied smile on his face, and he was still on his face up to this moment.
  11. >You turn away your gaze and try to, once again, prepare to give him the lecture of his seemingly short life.
  12. >Once you're ready, and you made sure that you were really ready, you look back at him
  13. >That was your biggest mistake of the morning
  14. >The moment your eyes rested on Anon yet again, he extended up his arms towards you, a sign that now you knew was his way of demanding being held in your embrace or to get a hug
  15. >After suffering another attack of the D'aw, you decided that you just couldn't be mad at him and complied his request to cuddle.
  16. >You picked him up with your magic, only to let yourself fall backwards on the bed and then you levitated him until you were able to hug him with your front hooves as well as nuzzling him.
  17. >But some knocks at the door decided to ruin your moment
  18. >Taking a moment to regain your regality, you carefully pick up Anon with your magic and then you let him rest on your back after you stand up
  19. "Come in" you call whoever was outside
  20.
  21. >The door opens and you see your student, Twilight
  22. >She does a quick bow to greet you
  23. >"The guards you sent to look for Anon's parents came back, but they didn't find anything" she said with disappointment evident in her eyes. She really wanted to meet more creatures like Anon and be able to study them
  24. >You keep your serene expression, but you silently cheer in your mind that Anon will be able to stay a little longer with you
  25. "It is certainly a shame that they couldn't find Anon's parents, but there's still hope for him"
  26. >Twilight looks at you, but now with curiosity coming from her
  27. >"What do you mean, Princess? If a group of trained, strong, muscular stallions..." she begins to drool a little. Maybe Cadenza can curse... You mean charm a guard to fall for Twilight. You snap her out with a little spark of magic "Ouch! Where was I? Oh, yeah. If the guards couldn't find his parents anywhere, what can we still do?"
  28. >You smile reassuringly
  29. "Well, as you said, a big number of noisy stallions didn't find anything. We only have to send a smaller group. Perhaps, only TWO" you put emphasis on two "more silent mares who will be a little more organized"
  30. >Twilight didn't comment anything and she seemed to be very confused with yuor new plan, so you elaborated more
  31. "Two mares, Twilight. As in, you and me"
  32. >Realization dawns on her face as she now understands what you were trying to say.
  33. >"But how can we be more useful than your guards? I mean, even with magic, there's only two of us"
  34. "Don't worry Twilight. I have already a very good plan"
  35. >Twilight shows signs of excitement the moment she heard that you had a plan
  36. >"Really? And what is it?" she looks at you expectantly as you start to walk out of your royal chambers and begin to calmly walk down the hallway
  37. "A picnic" you say simply as you head for the kitchen
  38. "A what?!" Twilight exclaims in disbelief
  39.
  40. >You, Twilight, Anon and, now, Spike are now walking through the castle gardens, though only you and Twilight were actually walking, because Spike and Anon were riding on your back, and a basket full of food was floating above all of you.
  41. >You had found Spike on your way to the kitchen and when he asked what you were doing, and if he could tag along, you just didn't have the heart to tell him no.
  42. >Admit it, you're a sucker for baby creatures
  43. >Besides, it's not as if it was really plan to find Anon's parents.
  44. >Though Twilight thought it really was that
  45. >That might have to do with the fact that you altered a little the truth.
  46. >She believes that this 'picnic' is just an excuse to bring Anon outside and have him recognize his surroundings to find his home a little easier.
  47. >The truth is that this is just an excuse to skip over your royal duties for the day and spend it with your Anon
  48. >And you're calling him 'yours' again. You should really stop doing that, or you might start to see him in more ways than just a cute little ape
  49. >Anyway, back to the present moment, you all arrive at your favorite spot in the gardens, which happens to be next to a pond and you start to set up everything.
  50. >Thanks to your magic, it only takes half a minute.
  51. >Sitting down, you carefully put Anon and Spike too over the sheet you had set, and you all start to eat.
  52. >Twilight almost didn't touch her hay and daisy sandwich because she was too busy monitoring her surroundings as well as Anon for any sings of Anon's relatives.
  53. >As for you, you kept on trying to get Anon to eat anything. This young mister was rejecting everything!
  54. >Sigh
  55. >You were beginning to think that so many cookies had ruined his appetite.
  56. >Sighing, you turn to Spike, who was also watching very closely Anon, thought instead of scientific questioning, his face was full of childish curiosity.
  57. >After a while Spike even started to play with Anon!
  58. >If you weren't D'awing, you would think you died of a heart attack
  59.
  60. >You continued to watch Spike and Anon play their own version of tag, though both of them were very clumsy, so they couldn't walk even three steps before falling down, only to stand up again and continue to stumble around.
  61. >Suddenly, Twilight stands up with a sudden jump and points to the nearby trees
  62. >"Princess! I saw something!" she said in excitement "And it looked a lot like Anon too! Maybe it's one of his species!"
  63. >Even if you didn't want to be separated from Anon so soon, you had to admit to yourself that you were just as curious as Twilight about Anon's species.
  64. >You stand up too, leaving Spike and Anon alone to their own games and look in the direction Twilight was pointing
  65. "If that's true, we should go! Come on, Twilight, we don't have time to lose!"
  66. >You two start galloping in the direction of the trees, which as you ventured further into, started to become harder to traverse.
  67. >It is only when you two come across a shadow with a pair of glowing eyes observing you from the tree branches that you two stop.
  68. >You stare at it for a moment and it stares back, so you decide to clear your throat and speak to it
  69. "Good morning, sir. We were wondering if you, by any chance, know of a member of your species that might have been lost yesterday".
  70. >You don't receive a response, and it only stares back
  71. "Oh, sorry for my lack of politeness. I'm the Princess Celestia and this is my student, Twilight. Who are you?"
  72. >The shadow only stares back yet again, and you begin to think that maybe you were wrong and Anon's species is not actually sapient
  73. >"Eek!" you hear
  74. >Your eyes widen and you look to Twilight, who also turns to look at you with equally widened eyes. The fact that it actually answered back was a great surprise!
  75. "Well, Mr. Eek, just yesterday, we found what appears to be a member of your species. Do you think you know about any friend of family member that you haven't seen since yesterday?"
  76.
  77. >"Eek!"
  78. >You stare at Mr. Eek
  79. "Yes, that's your name. Now, could you please tell us if-"
  80. >"Ooh ooh eek!" You were rudely interrupted by Mr. Eek, but something started to smell a little fishy here.
  81. >You glare at Eek, and you notice that he actually has a tail
  82. >Anon didn't have a tail
  83. >Your assumptions about Mr. Eek being sapient are thrown out the window the moment he steps into the light and you notice that Mr. Eek is actually just a spider monkey
  84. >You sigh and look at Twilight, who is just as disappointed as you right now.
  85. >Well, as much disappointment as you fake
  86. >This means that Anon gets to stay with you even more!
  87. >And now that you think about it, you're now aware that you left not only Anon, but Spike too alone without any adult to watch over them.
  88. >Worry starts to set in as you tell Twilight that you should go back
  89. "Twilight, we should go back. It's no use to stay here any longer"
  90. >She sighs
  91. >"You're right, princess. Let's go back"
  92. >You're about to leave, but you hear somepony call you
  93. >"Princess Celestia, wait up!"
  94. >Turning back, again, you see a maid appear from behind some trees
  95. >"Princess Celestia, I finally found you" she says. She seems to be quite tired, as if she had been running a marathon "I was sent to tell you that at the Canterlot Zoo some emerald turtles recently hatched, and they sent you some as a gift"
  96. >You smile, hiding your uneasiness
  97. "That very kind of them. I'll write a letter to thank them later, but right now I must really be on my way..."
  98. >Your maid didn't notice your unusual lack of tranquility that you usually have in your voice
  99. >"Oh, and some crocodiles just arrived too, as you requested a few weeks ago, these are..."
  100. >You didn't need to hear anymore from this mare, so you broke down into a full gallop, using your magic to make a hole through any tree that blocked your path, making an straight line back to Anon and Spike
  101. >"Of that gentle and totally harmless kind" the mare finished, watching you in confusion as you ran
  102.
  103. >When you start to get closer to where Anon and Spike are, you begin to hear squeals of terror and despair, which only make you run faster.
  104. >When you finally arrive, you discover that the squeals of terror are, in fact, only the sounds of laughter.
  105. >What you see is Anon petting a smiling crocodile and Spike floating on the back of another crocodile in the small pond.
  106. >That's when you remember that these were a new kind of crocodiles recently discovered that are described as the 'kindest and most playful reptiles alive'
  107. >You facehoof
  108. >You hear Twilight catching up with you, and this time you hear her d'awing at the scene
  109. >"Well, princess. We might have not discovered anything, but at the very least we now know that Spike and Anon are very good friends, right?"
  110. >You look at Twilight and then back at the happy would-be-colts playing around.
  111. "I guess you're right, Twilight. I guess you're right"
  112.

  116. >When you start to get closer to where Anon and Spike are, you begin to hear squeals of terror and despair, which only make you run faster.
  117. >When you finally arrive, you discover that the squeals of terror are not, in fact, from Spike or Anon, but actually of the crocodiles
  118. >What you see in front of you is little Anon having a crocodile in a vice grip while applying a suplex to another one.
  119. >Spike is cheering on him from the side lines
  120. >You stare in bewilderment and Twilight finally catches up to you
  121. >"Princess! The maid said that there has been a mistake and the crocodiles are actually from Mousetralia! Those are the most dangerous crocodiles in the whole world!"
  122. >But when she notices the battle unfolding by the lake, her mouth hangs open
  123. >After a while Twilight finally gets her mouth to work again, and she decides to comment
  124. >"Well, princess. We might have not discovered anything, but at the very least we now know that Anon can wrestle crocodiles, right?"
  125. >You look at Twilight and then back at the happy would-be-colts wrestling crocodiles.
  126. "I guess you're right, Twilight. I guess you're right"
