  1. >This place was always so deary, so grey.
  2. >It never seemed to get interesting around here, as if boring was what it was meant to be.
  3. >And once again, here you were. Sitting in your room, looking out your window.
  4. >Waiting for something to happen.
  5. >Nothing ever did, but it didn't hurt to pretend something would.
  6. >This constant rain didn't help with your mood, either.
  7. >You were always in a bad mood, or seemingly no mood at all.
  8. >Seems like everyone was around here, though.
  9. >You needed to get out.
  10. >But you never seemed to have the will to.
  11. >Nothing was stopping you; you had the car, had the money.
  12. >But what would be out there, waiting for you?
  13. >Would it be kindness and acceptance, or hate and rejection?
  14. >You've gotten so used to this place, dreary as it is; would you be able to make a change?
  15. > All kinds of thoughts swam through your mind, and kept you right where you were.
  16. >And so you sat at the windowsill, watching the sky.
  17. >Waiting for something to finally happen.
  18. >Days passed without much incident.
  19. >Stare out the window, do what needed to be done.
  20. >Think about what waited for you outside of here.
  21. >But today was different.
  22. >Today, you were finally going to leave.
  23. >Nothing was going to stop you.
  24. >Not the clouds, the rain. You even shoved off the fearful thoughts of mystery.
  25. >Packing a suitcase of clothing and all the money you had to your name, you were ready.
  26. >You got in your car, and drove.
  27. >Drove past the houses, through the seemingly endless rain.
  28. >Out of town, into the country.
  29. >Thoughts of what laid ahead for you found their way back inside your mind.
  30. >But this time, they weren't of fear.
  31. >They were of pure curiosity.
  32. >What could be out there for you?
  33. >Could a whole new life, devoid of this grey be waiting?
  34. >Maybe all of this time, the bleak town you lived in was really the alien in this land.
  35. >At this point, there was only one way to find out.
  36. >You drove, not stopping for anything.
  37. >And yet the rain kept up with you, not winded in the slightest.
  38. >In fact, it seems to get heavier; thunder and lightning even joined the chorus.
  39. >It was almost like the storm was calling you back, as if it had planned on you staying.
  40. >But you didn't care what a cloud thought. You needed out.
  41. >The rain continued to fall, the thunder and lightning louder and closer.
  42. >It was nearly impossible to see through the downpour.
  43. >When the rain seemed at its worst, the lightning made its move, more furious than ever.
  44. >Barely missing your car, you pull on the wheel, shocked by the bolt that just about hit you.
  45. >Skidding out of control, all you can do is brace for the unavoidable crash.
  46. >You close your eyes, and hear the sound of metal bending and breaking, hitting something hard.
  47.
  48. >That was all you could remember before ending up here.
  49. >...Now, where is here, you ask?
  50. >Well... all you know is there's a lot more colour than where you were raised.
  51. >At the moment, you're sitting in what seems to be an apple orchard, and quite the large one too.
  52. >Your car laid totaled,  the front end smashed in from hitting a tree.
  53. >But what struck you as odd is this tree showed no signs of being hit.
  54. >If this someones idea of a joke, they've got you fooled.
  55. >Getting up and trying to gain your bearings, it's clear these trees go on for miles.
  56. >Noticing a barn in the distance, you begin your walk towards it hoping for answers.
  57. >The walk is a long one, and it quickly informs you that you've done something to your leg.
  58. >The pain's nothing more than an ache, but it was easy to tell it wasn't going to stay that way.
  59. >Continuing onward, the pain slowly creeps in, making its home in your leg.
  60. >You eventually have to sit, and come to the realization that you might have sprained it badly in the accident.
  61. >In the midst of giving yourself a diagnosis, you swear you hear a scream in the distance.
  62. >Looking up at the sky proves you were right, as some pink object flies in your direction.
  63. >Wait.
  64. >A pink object.
  65. >Flying in your general direction.
  66. >Well, time to add head trauma to the list of how you fucked yourself up in the crash.
  67. >You follow the object through the sky as it continues its course.
  68. >Finally crashing into the ground not so far from you, you gingerly get up, eager to inspect this thing.
  69. >Once you're a few feet from it, you realize this pink object is a ho-
  70. >You don't remember taking drugs before driving, but this is one hell of a hallucination.
  71. >A pink horse, which just fell out of the sky unscathed, landed almost right in front of you.
  72. >Though it seemed a little small to be a horse.
  73. >You get a little closer, worried it might be dead.
  74. >”WOW! ThatwasfuunI'vegottodothatAGAIN!”
  75. >You fall backwards, startled by the sudden outburst from the pink horse in front of you.
  76. >Outburst.
  77. >From a horse.
  78. >Someone had to have snuck drugs in something you ate.
  79. >”Hey, I've never seen you before!”
  80. >Ohgoditsawyou
  81. >”You must be new here, because I knowalltheponiesinponyvillenadifIdon'tknowyouthenyouMUSTbenew!”
  82. >It hops in your direction, and you appear to be frozen on the spot.
  83. >Scared stiff by a pink talking horse.
  84. >This will be one hell of a story for your friends.
  85. >It holds out its hoof.
  86. >”I'm Pinkie Pie! What's your name, stranger?”
  87. A-anonymous.
  88. >She puts the hoof on her chin, as if in thought.
  89. >“Ah-non-a-moose?”
  90. >”That's a funny name, Ahnonamoose!”
  91. >You sigh.
  92. It isn't 'Ah-non-a-moose'. It's Anonymous.
  93. >Now you're correcting a pink talking pony who said your name wrong.
  94. >More to tell your friends.
  95. >“Ah-nen-na-moose?”
  96. Ah.Non.Nuh.Miss.
  97. >“Ooooooh, why didn't you just say that in the first place, silly!”
  98. I. Did.
  99. >You say through gritted teeth.
  100. >Of all the things you could find in this place, hallucination, whateverthefuckthisis.
  101. >You find a talking, hyper, annoying pony.
  102. >Oh, it's also pink.
  103. >You can't forget that part.
  104. >Your leg sends a pang to your head, whining for attention. You need to have it checked out.
  105. >The pink horse (Pinkie was her name; how coincidental) grabs your arm.
  106. >”Hmmmm...So what ARE you exactly, Nonny?”
  107. >...Nonny?
  108. >You've known this thing for a few moments and it's already giving you nicknames.
  109. I'm a human. I could've sworn that much was obvious.
  110. >”A wha?”
  111. >So now this hallucination has made you out to be an alien.
  112. >You shake your head.
  113. Never mind. Is there a doctor anywhere near here? I think I did something to my leg when I crashed.
  114. >She gasps.
  115. >”YOU WERE IN A CRASH?!”
  116. ...Yes?
  117. >”WE HAVE TO GET YOU TO NURSE REDHEART RIGHT AWAY!”
  118. >Hastily grabbing your arm, she tugs you in a seemingly random direction.
  119. Pinkie, I can still walk...
  120. >”NO TIME! WE'VE GOTTA GET YOU THERE AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!”
  121. >Sighing, you accept that there's no talking sense into it.
  122.
  123.
  124. >You're now on the edge of what looks like a village.
  125. >Houses are sprawled throughout, with a few looking like shops.
  126. >In the middle of it all is a fountain and a building which looks like the town hall.
  127. >A large tree can be seen near the edge of town.
  128. >Pinkie stops dragging you for a moment.
  129. >”Hm....Now, where was Redheart's office again?”
  130. You mean you dragged me all the way here, just to tell me you don't remember where the place is?
  131. >You get up, and do your best to brush off the mud and dirt.
  132. You're clearly no help. I'll find this place myself.
  133. >”Nonny, no! You're hurt, and everypony might not be as nice as I was to you!”
  134. I don't care. I need this checked out.
  135. >You limp towards a congregation of them to see if they can help you.
  136. >Once in earshot, you ask.
  137. Hey, do any of you know where a Nurse Redheart is?
  138. >They look your way; some shocked, others fearful.
  139. See, I did a number on my leg and I need to get it-
  140. >They start screaming about an alien, and run off.
  141. ...checked out.
  142. >You sit where you are, seemingly out of options at this point..
  143. >Apparently Pinkie was right; these things don't like the looks of you.
  144. >So now what? She's no help, and all of the other horses ran off.
  145. >”...Excuse me, I know where Nurse Redheart is.”
  146. >You look up: a lavender horse with a purple mane stands over you.
  147. >This one has a horn, too.
  148. >”You said your leg is hurt: what did you do to it? I might be able to help.”
  149. >You sit up to better see this horse.
  150. I got in a car accident, and I did something to it. I blacked out though, so the details are fuzzy.
  151. >She cocks her head.
  152. >”I'm sorry, but what's a car?”
  153. >You look at her. Were all of these things oblivious to what a car is?
  154. Never mind. You said you know where this Redheart is?
  155. >”Yes, I do. She'll know more about what you did than I do, too.”
  156. Alright then; let's go see this nurse.
  157. >You stand up, mindful of your bad leg.
  158. >On the way there, you decide to learn something about this horse.
  159. You know, I didn't catch your name.
  160. >”It's Twilight. Twilight Sparkle.”
  161. >Interesting name.
  162. >”And what is yours, may I ask?”
  163. It's Anonymous, but you can call me Anon.
  164. >”That's an interesting name; is it-”
  165. >”NONNY! I FOUND YOU OHMYGOSHIWASSOWORRIEDTHATSOMETHINGHAPPENEDTOYOU!”
  166. >Twilight looks at you.
  167. >”I take it you've met Pinkie Pie.”
  168. >You sigh.
  169. I'm starting to wish I didn't.
  170. >”So Nonny, where's Twilight taking you?”
  171. To Redheart, somewhere you clearly couldn't.
  172. >”Oh, okay! I could come along too if you wanted!”
  173. No, I think you're good to leave.
  174. >”Are you sure?”
  175. Positive.
  176. >She looks a little saddened, but it doesn't last long.
  177. >”Okay then! See you 'round town, Nonny!”
  178. >She hops off towards town square.
  179. I take it she's a friend of yours.
  180. >”Yes, though sometimes I wonder how I make it through the day with her around...”
  181. That bad?
  182. >”Anonymous, you've only seen the tip of the iceberg.”
