- >This place was always so deary, so grey.
- >It never seemed to get interesting around here, as if boring was what it was meant to be.
- >And once again, here you were. Sitting in your room, looking out your window.
- >Waiting for something to happen.
- >Nothing ever did, but it didn't hurt to pretend something would.
- >This constant rain didn't help with your mood, either.
- >You were always in a bad mood, or seemingly no mood at all.
- >Seems like everyone was around here, though.
- >You needed to get out.
- >But you never seemed to have the will to.
- >Nothing was stopping you; you had the car, had the money.
- >But what would be out there, waiting for you?
- >Would it be kindness and acceptance, or hate and rejection?
- >You've gotten so used to this place, dreary as it is; would you be able to make a change?
- > All kinds of thoughts swam through your mind, and kept you right where you were.
- >And so you sat at the windowsill, watching the sky.
- >Waiting for something to finally happen.
- >Days passed without much incident.
- >Stare out the window, do what needed to be done.
- >Think about what waited for you outside of here.
- >But today was different.
- >Today, you were finally going to leave.
- >Nothing was going to stop you.
- >Not the clouds, the rain. You even shoved off the fearful thoughts of mystery.
- >Packing a suitcase of clothing and all the money you had to your name, you were ready.
- >You got in your car, and drove.
- >Drove past the houses, through the seemingly endless rain.
- >Out of town, into the country.
- >Thoughts of what laid ahead for you found their way back inside your mind.
- >But this time, they weren't of fear.
- >They were of pure curiosity.
- >What could be out there for you?
- >Could a whole new life, devoid of this grey be waiting?
- >Maybe all of this time, the bleak town you lived in was really the alien in this land.
- >At this point, there was only one way to find out.
- >You drove, not stopping for anything.
- >And yet the rain kept up with you, not winded in the slightest.
- >In fact, it seems to get heavier; thunder and lightning even joined the chorus.
- >It was almost like the storm was calling you back, as if it had planned on you staying.
- >But you didn't care what a cloud thought. You needed out.
- >The rain continued to fall, the thunder and lightning louder and closer.
- >It was nearly impossible to see through the downpour.
- >When the rain seemed at its worst, the lightning made its move, more furious than ever.
- >Barely missing your car, you pull on the wheel, shocked by the bolt that just about hit you.
- >Skidding out of control, all you can do is brace for the unavoidable crash.
- >You close your eyes, and hear the sound of metal bending and breaking, hitting something hard.
- >That was all you could remember before ending up here.
- >...Now, where is here, you ask?
- >Well... all you know is there's a lot more colour than where you were raised.
- >At the moment, you're sitting in what seems to be an apple orchard, and quite the large one too.
- >Your car laid totaled, the front end smashed in from hitting a tree.
- >But what struck you as odd is this tree showed no signs of being hit.
- >If this someones idea of a joke, they've got you fooled.
- >Getting up and trying to gain your bearings, it's clear these trees go on for miles.
- >Noticing a barn in the distance, you begin your walk towards it hoping for answers.
- >The walk is a long one, and it quickly informs you that you've done something to your leg.
- >The pain's nothing more than an ache, but it was easy to tell it wasn't going to stay that way.
- >Continuing onward, the pain slowly creeps in, making its home in your leg.
- >You eventually have to sit, and come to the realization that you might have sprained it badly in the accident.
- >In the midst of giving yourself a diagnosis, you swear you hear a scream in the distance.
- >Looking up at the sky proves you were right, as some pink object flies in your direction.
- >Wait.
- >A pink object.
- >Flying in your general direction.
- >Well, time to add head trauma to the list of how you fucked yourself up in the crash.
- >You follow the object through the sky as it continues its course.
- >Finally crashing into the ground not so far from you, you gingerly get up, eager to inspect this thing.
- >Once you're a few feet from it, you realize this pink object is a ho-
- >You don't remember taking drugs before driving, but this is one hell of a hallucination.
- >A pink horse, which just fell out of the sky unscathed, landed almost right in front of you.
- >Though it seemed a little small to be a horse.
- >You get a little closer, worried it might be dead.
- >”WOW! ThatwasfuunI'vegottodothatAGAIN!”
- >You fall backwards, startled by the sudden outburst from the pink horse in front of you.
- >Outburst.
- >From a horse.
- >Someone had to have snuck drugs in something you ate.
- >”Hey, I've never seen you before!”
- >Ohgoditsawyou
- >”You must be new here, because I knowalltheponiesinponyvillenadifIdon'tknowyouthenyouMUSTbenew!”
- >It hops in your direction, and you appear to be frozen on the spot.
- >Scared stiff by a pink talking horse.
- >This will be one hell of a story for your friends.
- >It holds out its hoof.
- >”I'm Pinkie Pie! What's your name, stranger?”
- A-anonymous.
- >She puts the hoof on her chin, as if in thought.
- >“Ah-non-a-moose?”
- >”That's a funny name, Ahnonamoose!”
- >You sigh.
- It isn't 'Ah-non-a-moose'. It's Anonymous.
- >Now you're correcting a pink talking pony who said your name wrong.
- >More to tell your friends.
- >“Ah-nen-na-moose?”
- Ah.Non.Nuh.Miss.
- >“Ooooooh, why didn't you just say that in the first place, silly!”
- I. Did.
- >You say through gritted teeth.
- >Of all the things you could find in this place, hallucination, whateverthefuckthisis.
- >You find a talking, hyper, annoying pony.
- >Oh, it's also pink.
- >You can't forget that part.
- >Your leg sends a pang to your head, whining for attention. You need to have it checked out.
- >The pink horse (Pinkie was her name; how coincidental) grabs your arm.
- >”Hmmmm...So what ARE you exactly, Nonny?”
- >...Nonny?
- >You've known this thing for a few moments and it's already giving you nicknames.
- I'm a human. I could've sworn that much was obvious.
- >”A wha?”
- >So now this hallucination has made you out to be an alien.
- >You shake your head.
- Never mind. Is there a doctor anywhere near here? I think I did something to my leg when I crashed.
- >She gasps.
- >”YOU WERE IN A CRASH?!”
- ...Yes?
- >”WE HAVE TO GET YOU TO NURSE REDHEART RIGHT AWAY!”
- >Hastily grabbing your arm, she tugs you in a seemingly random direction.
- Pinkie, I can still walk...
- >”NO TIME! WE'VE GOTTA GET YOU THERE AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!”
- >Sighing, you accept that there's no talking sense into it.
- –
- >You're now on the edge of what looks like a village.
- >Houses are sprawled throughout, with a few looking like shops.
- >In the middle of it all is a fountain and a building which looks like the town hall.
- >A large tree can be seen near the edge of town.
- >Pinkie stops dragging you for a moment.
- >”Hm....Now, where was Redheart's office again?”
- You mean you dragged me all the way here, just to tell me you don't remember where the place is?
- >You get up, and do your best to brush off the mud and dirt.
- You're clearly no help. I'll find this place myself.
- >”Nonny, no! You're hurt, and everypony might not be as nice as I was to you!”
- I don't care. I need this checked out.
- >You limp towards a congregation of them to see if they can help you.
- >Once in earshot, you ask.
- Hey, do any of you know where a Nurse Redheart is?
- >They look your way; some shocked, others fearful.
- See, I did a number on my leg and I need to get it-
- >They start screaming about an alien, and run off.
- ...checked out.
- >You sit where you are, seemingly out of options at this point..
- >Apparently Pinkie was right; these things don't like the looks of you.
- >So now what? She's no help, and all of the other horses ran off.
- >”...Excuse me, I know where Nurse Redheart is.”
- >You look up: a lavender horse with a purple mane stands over you.
- >This one has a horn, too.
- >”You said your leg is hurt: what did you do to it? I might be able to help.”
- >You sit up to better see this horse.
- I got in a car accident, and I did something to it. I blacked out though, so the details are fuzzy.
- >She cocks her head.
- >”I'm sorry, but what's a car?”
- >You look at her. Were all of these things oblivious to what a car is?
- Never mind. You said you know where this Redheart is?
- >”Yes, I do. She'll know more about what you did than I do, too.”
- Alright then; let's go see this nurse.
- >You stand up, mindful of your bad leg.
- >On the way there, you decide to learn something about this horse.
- You know, I didn't catch your name.
- >”It's Twilight. Twilight Sparkle.”
- >Interesting name.
- >”And what is yours, may I ask?”
- It's Anonymous, but you can call me Anon.
- >”That's an interesting name; is it-”
- >”NONNY! I FOUND YOU OHMYGOSHIWASSOWORRIEDTHATSOMETHINGHAPPENEDTOYOU!”
- >Twilight looks at you.
- >”I take it you've met Pinkie Pie.”
- >You sigh.
- I'm starting to wish I didn't.
- >”So Nonny, where's Twilight taking you?”
- To Redheart, somewhere you clearly couldn't.
- >”Oh, okay! I could come along too if you wanted!”
- No, I think you're good to leave.
- >”Are you sure?”
- Positive.
- >She looks a little saddened, but it doesn't last long.
- >”Okay then! See you 'round town, Nonny!”
- >She hops off towards town square.
- I take it she's a friend of yours.
- >”Yes, though sometimes I wonder how I make it through the day with her around...”
- That bad?
- >”Anonymous, you've only seen the tip of the iceberg.”
