- >Celestia is whack, yo.
- >By the way that ‘funofficial’ tour was a total bust.
- >You aren’t sure why you’re reminding yourself about this but you figure it’s a good thing to make sure aren’t developing Alzheimer’s or anything.
- >Yeah sure, ponies have that too.
- >Anyways, to make a long story short, you need to patch things up with Twinkle Shine.
- >To make that short story long, Twinkle Shine doesn’t feel like you’re committing enough to her.
- >Celestia related shenanigans aside, you haven’t been doing anything with her as of late.
- >Still haven’t gotten that first kiss.
- >It’s not hard to see she feels neglected.
- >But you have a legitimate excuse.
- >You are fucking terrified of Celesia.
- >Seriously, you drew the short straw in mothers.
- >She’s already made it clear that she’s “indifferent” towards you dating.
- >Whether it be with her remarks or date sabotaging, she’s made your romantic endeavors with Twinkle Shine a nightmare.
- >And that’s why tonight you were going to fix everything, with another masterfully crafted plan.
- >You were going to go on a dinner date with her.
- >But not just any dinner date.
- >It was going to be at her house.
- >With her parents.
- >That’s right.
- >You were meeting Twinkle Shine’s mom and dad tonight.
- >How else were you going to prove to her that you were serious about the two of you?
- >Nobody meets the parents out of their own volition if they’re not in it for the long haul.
- >So here you were, standing in your room with a very fine suit on, just about ready to go.
- >There’s just one teensy weensy little obstacle in the way.
- >Teensy weensy relative to the rest of the universe that is.
- >Standing just outside the foyer, you try to plan what you’ll say.
- >She’ll be in there for sure, reading a book or sipping some tea or whatever it is princesses do in their downtime.
- >You just have to make it past her without revealing your plans.
- >Plans that you totally didn’t suck at thinking through.
- >Just gotta lie you’re way out the backdoor, simple enough.
- >Yeah you didn’t reassure yourself there.
- >Grasping for the doorknob, you give a twist and push forwards.
- >Be brave young teenage Anon.
- >The foyer was honestly one hell of a snug room.
- >Even though it was a simple fireplace in the wall with some couches facing it, there was an ever-present warm ambience here.
- >It really was a relaxing place.
- >You know no such comforts.
- >As you thought, Celestia is lounging on one of the couches staring intently at some letter.
- >Maybe she hasn’t noticed, if you keep on moving you might just—
- >“Going out, Anonymous?”
- >All hope diminished, you stop dead in your tracks.
- >She didn’t even look up from the scroll she was reading.
- >Time to put your excellent cover story into play.
- “No.”
- >You’re fucked.
- >“I’d certainly hope not.”
- >Her eyes move over towards you, giving your form a once over.
- “Well I’m not.”
- >Your young mind really needs to step up its comeback forming game.
- >Moving her eyes back to the parchment, Celestia questions you again.
- >“So why are you in your formal attire then?”
- “Can’t a guy feel fancy every once in a while? Geez.”
- >She gives a quick look before returning her gaze once more to the scroll.
- >“I suppose.”
- >…
- >Yeah you’re just kind of awkwardly standing there now.
- >Better think of something fast, you got a hot date to get to.
- >Well not exactly hot but uhh…
- >Parentally appropriate?
- >Sure sounds about right.
- “Well uhh, since you brought it up, I guess I will go out after all.”
- >“In your good clothes?”
- “It will leave a good impression on anypony I pass by.”
- >Celestia once again lowers her letter to shoot a stare your way.
- >How is she not eating this up?
- “You know… gotta let those ponies know what an upstanding young gentleman you raised, heh heh…”
- >Is it hot in here? You’re sweating bullets.
- >She’s not relenting her gaze.
- >Come on Anon, you’ve got to make it to Twinkle Shine’s house.
- >It’s time to book it or lose it.
- “Screw you mom, I’m a rebel!”
- >Celestia’s momentary shock leaves enough time for you to make a mad dash for the backdoor.
- >Freedom! Sweet freedom!
- >Running through the amber daylight, you make your way for Twinkle Shine’s.
- >You have a very important night ahead of you.
- --
- >Celestia sat alone in the castle foyer.
- >Her son Anonymous had just put on quite the display.
- >It was almost commendable what lengths he was willing to go to.
- >But he was as transparent as always.
- >Finally setting her student’s letter down, she took one last sip of her tea.
- >Getting up from her seat, she made her way towards an all too familiar flight of stairs towards one trusty telescope.
- >It was going to be one of those nights.
- >And a long one at that.
- --
- >Oh man this is what you get for living in the castle and having a marefriend that lived in the residential side of Canterlot.
- >You had to slow down the pace, lest you ruin your very dapper suit.
- >Stinking of sweat doesn’t sound appealing, and your sure Twinkle Shine wouldn’t appreciate it either.
- >Doesn’t matter much now anyways, a multitude of houses stretches before you.
- >Your destination is in sight.
- >The houses on this side of Canterlot were not nearly as grand as some of the others you’ve seen.
- >In fact, you could almost call these homes rustic by comparison.
- >Walking down the street, you turn to face a two story building.
- >Despite just about all of the homes here looking the same, you knew this was your stop.
- >Giving the address one last look confirms this.
- >You begin the walk through the front yard, a path of circular stones leading your towards the front door.
- >Taking a final few bounds, you step up onto the porch.
- >Alrighty then, this is it.
- >Everything seems to be in order.
- >You give your tie a slight tug, straightening it out.
- >Operation: save this relationship is a go.
- >Raising and bringing your fist down in one swift motion, you give the front door a good few knocks.
- >Come on, Anon, you can do this.
- >It’s just one dinner with Twinkle Shine’s parents.
- >Shuffling noises can be heard from the other side of the door.
- >You’ve mentally prepared yourself as best you can, but now it’s time to hope for the best.
- >Everything will be fine.
- //Probably the last preview before I actually finish and post this thing.
- //It's still only like 1/3 done though.
- //Here's to spring break and the two people that actually saw these previews I put up.
