  1. >Fucking magic.
  2. >You couldn't deny that these unicorns could do some crazy shaolin monk shit, but magic?  Really?
  3. >Were you dead?  Or so stoned that you might as well be?
  4. >You search for a counter to her argument that magic could help you, but come up empty.  Their magic could affect you, so it’s possible they could conjure up something.  Fighting insanity just fucks you up, might as well roll with it.
  5. >Maybe if it worked you could even run again.
  6. >You twist your hands around your cane's shaft.  Titan was like an extension of your body.  It’s unthinkable to be without it.
  7. "There isn't any magic where I come from," you mutter.
  8. >"Exactly!  Nop0ny ever got hurt by just trying," she says with a bright, closed-eyed smile.
  9. >Dat vernacular.  This place will take some getting used to.
  10. >"In the meantime, I'd like to hear about you," she offers.  She plants herself next to the table as Spike climbs the stairs to go to sleep.
  11. >He looks like a slave, obeying orders without question, even with some gusto.
  12. >Twilight looks at you expectantly as your brow furrows.
  13. >"Is something wrong?"
  14. "It’s not a happy story."
  15. >You also noticed she had her quill ready to take notes.  Not to mention you hadn't told anyone except that useless bitch shrink.
  16. >This place got gayer and gayer by the second.
  17. >Still not as gay as earth.
  18. >Fuck that gay earth.
  19. >"You don't have to if you don't want to," Twilight says, almost sounding sad.  She'd caught you grimacing again.
  20. >You stare for a moment into her eyes.  She tilts her head to the side, almost imperceptibly, with a kind smile.
  21. >Fuck it.
  22. >You tell her everything.
  23. >You tell her about learning to grow flowers, and about the kids who called you a faggot for it.
  24. >You tell her about the same kids wanting you to grow weed for them.
  25. >You tell her about the girls you were with, how they screwed you up and jaded your heart.
  26. >You tell her about your family, especially your little sister.
  27. >You were best friends with your baby sister; she loved you more than anything.  Twilight seems to know what you mean.
  28. >You tell her about how you fell deeper into despair, searching for some meaning in life.
  29. >You tell her about how your father murdered everyone you loved.
  30. >You tell her you watched your baby sister choke and die, pleading for you to save her.
  31. >You tell her you were "lucky" enough to survive.
  32. >You tell her about your new best friend, vicodin.
  33. >You tell her every day was spent one pill to the next, desperately trying to dispel the pain that surged in your body every moment of every day.
  34. >You tell her about the doctors.
  35. >You tell her about when you found out you were going to die sooner than you thought.
  36. >You tell her you fall asleep each night, not knowing if you'll wake up.
  37. >You tell her about the pills and your plan.
  38. >You tell her...
  39. >You--
  40.
  41. >"Anon," she notices you hitching on your words.
  42. >You can barely blurt out anymore.
  43. >Your leg hurts again.
  44. >You know without your pills it will soon be unbearable.
  45. >You shoot a hand up, you can't do this anymore.  The look on her face tells you everything.
  46. >She wants to help you.
  47. >She doesn't even know you.
  48. >"There is one thing," she says.  Her horn glows as she approaches you.  She touches it on your skin and you feel an icy lance sear through you, like she poured icewater into your veins.
  49. >The cold takes your entire body, and then subsides.  The pain flows away with it, you suddenly feel a bit better.
  50. >"It’s not much, but, do you feel any better?"
  51. "Much," you whisper.  You could name better remedies.
  52. >"You can use my guest bed," she offers you, and shows you the way.
  53. >You can't even say a word; you fall over and go to sleep instantly.
  54.
  55. >"What'cha mean ya can't tell us?"
  56. >"Yeah Twilight, you take him in your house and say he needs rest, then tell us that you learned a lot about him!  It’s not fair!"
  57. >Your eyes bolt open.  Voices downstairs.
  58. >"Girls, I can't tell you because it’s really personal to him.  How would you feel if I told all your secrets to somep0ny without your permission?"
  59. >Twilight.
  60. >"All right Twilight, but you really should not tease a lady with such news!"
  61. >Rarity.
  62. >You guessed the whole troupe was downstairs.
  63. >A dull pain pulled on your leg like a child looking for attention.  Twilight's spell must be wearing off.
  64. >You grab your cane, still in the clothes you slept in, a dark gray t-shirt and jeans.  You're here with really just your cane and the clothes on your back.
  65. >Hobbling over to the door, your suspicions are confirmed.  The whole group is sitting at the table, and you're the hot topic.
  66. "Good morning."
  67. >All eyes turn to you; Twilight had ignited their curiousity something fierce.
  68. >You carefully hobble down the stairs and sit at the table.  Fluttershy recoils a bit from you, giving you lots of personal space and invading Rarity's.  Twilight looks on you with a tinge of sadness.
  69. "So what weren't you telling everyon--p0ny?" you ask, catching yourself.
  70. >Twilight squirms.  "Uh... well, um... I mentioned that I learned a lot about you last night!  But I wasn't sure if you were comfortable with me telling everp0ny else."
  71. >Honesty.  You weren't sure about when you'd last seen it.  A lot of people lied or told you what you wanted to hear to make you feel better.
  72. "Go ahead."
  73. >"What?  Er-uh, I mean, are you sure?  Wouldn't you like to tell them yourself?"
  74. >You look around the room, the silence stifles you.  It’s hard to breathe.
  75. "I can't."
  76. >Fluttershy seems to relax away from Rarity.  "Um, Anon, its okay if you don't want to..." she trails off.  "We'll understand."  She looks to Rarity for encouragement.
  77. >"Oh, of course!  We're interested but we won't pry, right Rainbow Dash?" she shoots a knowing look at Rainbow.  She slumps forward, evidently disappointed.  "Fine."
  78. "Go ahead, Twilight."
  79. >She looks at you with the 'are you sure?' look, and you nod.
  80. >You remain deadpan throughout the story.  A certain gorilla would be proud.
  81.
  82. >After about half an hour and more than a few looks towards you to make sure she was getting it right, Twilight finishes telling her friends about you.
  83. >They're stunned into silence.
  84. >You had to admit, you'd never met anyone that had something to say immediately.
  85. >A pink face suddenly shoots up from between your legs.
  86. >"I know what you need!" Pinkie squeaks out.
  87. >You had only one guess.
  88. >"A PAAAARTY!"
  89. >She shoots to the walls of the room like bubblegum shot from a cannon and bounces around the room.  The silence was definitely dead now.
  90. "That won't be necessary."
  91. >"Oooh but it iiiis!" she insists.  "You'll feel so much better!  Oh! Oh!" she zips around the room again.
  92. >Her blood must be liquid cocaine.
  93. >You feel like you fall deeper into insanity every second you're in this place.
  94. >"Andthenyoucanmeeteveryp0nyandmakenewfriendsbecausewhenimetyouandiwaslikeGASPiknewthati'dneverseenyoubeforeandthatmeansyoumustbenewandifyou'renewthatmeansyoudon'tknowanyp0nyohisn'tthisexcitingohbutnotasexcitingaswh--"
  95. "Pinkie."
  96. >She stops mid-word.  "Yeeeeeeees?"
  97. >You realize it would be very foolish to say no for some reason.
  98. "When and where?"
  99. >She accelerates to 88 miles per hour.  You were about to see some serious shit.
  100. >"Howabouttomorrow?"
  101. "That's fine."
  102. >And as soon as you said it, she was gone.  She was like, weeping angel fast.
  103. >You might regret agreeing to this.
  104. >"Uh-um, Twilight?" it’s Fluttershy this time.  Her namesake shyness was adorable.  "You said you were going to use your magic to help A-anon right?"
  105. >Fluttershy's eyes dart towards you; she quickly looks back to Twilight after you've caught her.  Twilight only nods proudly.
  106. >"Um, well, d-do you need any help?  I mean, if that's okay..." she trails off.
  107. >"Hmm... Well, I will need some time to prepare what I have in mind, but I'll need some space in the meantime.  How about you show Anon around P0nyville?"
  108.
  109. >And so you were ushered outside by the four remaining p0nies, it was a really nice day outside today.
  110. >Twilight had also been kind enough to cast that spell on you again, so you figured you'd be able to walk around a bit without collapsing.
  111. >The town was pretty simple; it reminded you of home in many ways.  Except for the bright colours splashed fucking everywhere.  It almost hurt to look at.
  112. >Bakery, spa, candy store, houses, town hall... couches and quills?
  113. >Fucking p0nies.
  114. >The population of the town seemed wary of your presence.  Then again, you were a lot taller than they were.  A lot of eyes also checked out your cane.
  115. >"By tha way," a voice interrupts your observations and mental mapmaking. Applejack.  "What's tha stick for?"
  116. "Cane."
  117. >She looks at you quizzically.
  118. "It helps me get around, my leg is hurt, remember?"  She seems to understand.
  119. >"Ah still can't wrap mah head aroun' walkin' on two legs with a stick all tha time," she remarks.
  120. "Cane."
  121. >"What?"
  122. "It’s a cane, not a stick."
  123. >"What's tha difference?"
  124. >You shift your weight onto your good leg and hold the cane out.  The inky black surface doesn't even shine in the light.  Nobody ever got it right.
  125. "Give it a kick," you say, holding it out.
  126. >She taps it with a hoof.  Wary.
  127. "It won't break, trust me."  It was made out of solid titanium after all.  You plant it in the ground.  "Hard as you can."
  128. >Applejack turns around, checks her aim, and bucks it with one back hoof as hard as she can.  A familiar metallic CLANG chimes out in the street.  The last time you heard it was when you'd clobbered a man's skull.
  129. >"Dang! That right there is mighty strong!"
  130. >"Wow Anon!  I can't believe it didn't even bend!" Rainbow Dash shouts out.
  131. "It’s more than a stick, Applejack," you tell her, satisfied with the demonstration.  There wasn't even a scuff mark in the paint.  "It might as well be part of me."
  132. >"I must say it is quite the fashion statement."  Rarity.
  133. >It did go well with the dark clothes you had on.
  134. >Your little tour group continues on and passes by an ostentatious structure resembling a merry-go-round.
  135. >Rarity notices your prolonged attention.
  136. >"This is my boutique," she explains.  "All of the fashions I create happen within those very walls."
  137. >A clothier.  You suddenly remember you only own the clothes on your back.
  138. "Maybe I can come by sometime and you can make me something.  After I get some kind of money to pay you.  I only have what I got right now."
  139. >Her eyes widen.
  140. >"You mean to say that you only have THOSE?"
  141. >You're a bit hurt.  You like this shirt.  You nod.
  142. >"Oh that just won't do dear Anon!  That won't do at all!"
  143. >You're suddenly whisked into the boutique.  It reminds you of the same kind of thing back home.  A woman's clothing store.  The latest fashions lined the walls: from boots to scarves, saddles to hats, and even dresses.
  144. >P0nies wear dresses?
  145. >The abyss opens ever wider.
  146. >The rest of the group follow in after you.  Applejack and Rainbow Dash seem disinterested.  You figured from the get-go that they were a bit more tomboy than the rest.
  147. >Rarity moves between different rooms, ideas careen through her mind.
  148. >"Maybe I can... no, some blue maybe?  Oh he'll like this!"  She moves over her workspace not paying attention to anything else.
  149. >You turn to the others.
  150. "Does she do this often?"
  151. >"Yeah."
  152. >"Yep."
  153. >"...yes."
  154. "Listen, Rarity."
  155. >"Just a minute...!"
  156. "Rarity."
  157. >"One moment longer!"
  158. "RARITY."
  159. >She peeks her head around a corner.
  160. "A few things.  One, I can't pay you.  I don't even know what I'd pay you with."
  161. >Rainbow hovers next to you and whispers "Bits."
  162. >Thanks Rainbow.
  163. "Second, you've never seen a human before, you don't even know what I'd wear, or like."
  164. >She seems to understand your point.  "Well, I would like to take a few measurements."
  165. >You can't argue with that.
  166. >She sets you up in a nearby booth, measuring tape in han--, no, hoo--, no, fucking magic.
  167. >It was like high school prom suit all over again.  Whatever, after so many medical exams you didn't care about privacy invasion.
  168. >The tape pulls taut over your crotch.
  169. "If you make it tight there Rarity, I will end you."
  170. >The tape loosens a bit.
  171. "Again."
  172. >A bit more, it was comfortable now.  Rarity looks very confused.  "What's so special about there?"
  173. "Ask me again someday."  The thought of sex in this pastel world must be the abyss staring back into you.  Insanity was messed up.
  174. >"Hmm... all right Anonymous.  I'll get started right away!"
  175. "I told you--"
  176. >"No no!  I can't have you wearing the same thing every day, dear.  Oh, how horrifying!"
  177. >You had to admit, it would get bad, fast.
  178. >"You p0nies run along now, Rarity is in the zone!" she tells you, as she turns to get straight to work.
  179.
  180. >You let yourselves out, three left and it was only about noon.
  181. >The tour group kept going, it was mostly houses around this area.  You notice one building in particular though.  You can almost see the dust inside.
  182. "What's this one?"
  183. >"Oh, that one's where Rose used to live," Rainbow Dash explains.  "Didn't she move to Canterlot?"
  184. >"I think so."
  185. "Does anyon--p0ny live there now?"  You keep tripping on vernacular.  This could be your chance.
  186. >The p0nies looked to each other, evidently not.
  187. >You rapped on the door a few times, but no answer came.
  188. "Maybe this'll be a good spot.  What did Rose do in P0nyville?"
  189. >"She sold flowers, they were always so beautiful," Fluttershy tells you.
  190. >Flowers.
  191. >Insanity sure loves you.
  192. >The abyss could get downright comfy.
