Title: Astral log #3 Author: Vanstolin Pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/4kkPTsDW First Edit: Saturday 12th of January 2013 09:17:39 PM CDT Last Edit: Saturday 12th of January 2013 09:17:39 PM CDT >Astral log, entry 3 >It has been a couple weeks since I have written, lots of things have happened.  I have met with all of Twilight's friends, they seem to all like me for the most part.  Rainbow Dash and Applejack are weary of me, but I am sure they will come around.   >The reason for my entry though is actually the odd grey mare that I met.  Derpy I believe she is called.  She gave me many names with which to call her.  I asked her why.   >"I've been bumped from foster home to foster home after my parents abandoned me.  Ponies will give a name to a foal, even if they already have a name.  So it just gets added onto my legal name.  I am Bubbles, Bright Eyes, Ditzy Doo, Derpy Hooves.  Don't ask me which one is the first one I had.  I'm not even sure."   >I liked Derpy the best, she seemed rather clumsy and it fit.  The way her eyes wandered just made my heart melt.  I asked her what she did in Ponyville.   >"Oh, I do lots of stuff.  Mostly odd jobs, I can't get anything permanent ever since I started traveling with...  You know what, just forget that."   >I decided not to press the issue.  Recently I have been getting into the MLP fandom.  /co/ is rather hateful of the Bronies, but I think they will calm down eventually.  I actually decided on a whim to look up Derpy and see if she was an actual character or just a quirk of the universe.   >What I found shocked me, an animation error in the first episode.  But one that the animators were quick to embrace.  Her eyes were changed in Feeling Pinkie Keen.  This Grey Mare, she seemed to be an anomaly in their universe, something of an odd connection to us.  I needed to know more.   "Why are your eyes like that?  If you don't mind me asking."   >She turned to sorta of look at me.  She actually was looking at me with one eye and reading the address of the mail in her hooves with the other.  "Doctor says it's Strabismus, had it ever since I knocked my head on something.  Probably from when my parents abandoned me."   "Oh, I see."   >I wanted to change the subject, no use upsetting her.   "So why weren't you afraid of me, when we first met.  Everyone else fled until I called out and I don't remember seeing you in the crowd before."   >She just giggled, oh that giggle.  I want to hear it for the rest of my days.  "Because i've seen you before."  Was she trying to be mysterious or something?  "You're in my dreams, well, not you, but people like you.  Humans?  I've been seeing them recently, I told the Doctor, but he doesn't believe me."   >Now I was really interested, she has dreams about humans.  But just as I was going to ask her more I felt myself starting to wake up.   "I will see you next I can.  OK?"   >She nodded and waved goodbye as I faded from their world.
