Chapter 2 Tiem. Here goes nothing...

 

 

>Well, hmm. After sitting in a castle guest room for half an hour talking to a magical pony princess, you begin to wonder something. And of course, this being you, that small thought grows into a rather large issue.

"Uh, your majesty? I don't...- I mean, how is any of this possible, it's just, I don't understand".

>Noticing you starting to worry, celestia turns to you with that reassuring smile.

>"Anon, I understand it must be difficult for you. Not many beings get to travel to different dimensions. Well at least not so quickly". Well that just leaves you more confused, but you feel a little better.

>"Do not worry, we'll take this one step at a time. It's a new world for you after all, but I have faith in you and my student."

"Well I'm glad somebody does, heh"

>You let out an awkward nervous laugh, causing the princess to raise an eyebrow at you.

>Hah, you thought you were funny, but nope, you're still socially awkward as fuck!

>Go to hell brain.

>You clear your throat.

"So, uh, who's this Twilight pony pers- I mean pony?"

>"Oh yes, I forgot about her for a moment. She's my protégé, studying the magic of friendship in the town of Ponyville."

"Hahaha, that was a pretty good one your majesty" You say with a hearty chuckle.

>Celestia stares at you with a deadpan face. Evidently, she wasn't joking.

"I, uh, I mean I'm sorry, it's just from where I come from that sounds a bit-"

>"I understand Anon."

>After the awkward silence, Celestia continues.

>"Twilight is a loyal student and a good friend, I trust her implicitly. You will be in good hooves with her."

"Huh? What do you mean your majesty?".

>"Anon there simply is no need for all this formality. Please, just call me Celestia, you are an honored guest after all". I swear that smile is always there, but it seems genuine somehow.

>"You will be spending your time here in Equestria in the town of Ponyville, with Twilight as your, caretaker, if you will".

>Okay so, recap. You're gonna be spending quite some time in a town full of alien talking ponies who like friendship. You suck at being social in any way. What could possibly go wrong?

>You hear a knock at the door. "Come in Twilight" Celestia said in a whimsical tone.

>The door glows and then, opens by itself? Okay. And then in walks, a purple pony? What the heck is this? What's that glowing on her head? That's a horn! Wait a minute.

>A unicorn? Are you freakin' kiddin' me? As the new one walks in, you glance at Celestia. Don't know how dumb you are to have not seen it but she has one too. And effing wings! What is this, a mythical beasts convention or something?

>After seeing you, the purple one freezes, just staring at you. Is she afraid of you. Probably, you must be the first human she's ever seen. These ponies have unusually large eyes, kinda makes them look cute, in a way.

>Dude wut? How are you only just realising this? You're a dumbass.

>Hey! It's been a traumatic experience, I can't keep track of everything here brain, gimmie a break.

>Yet another awkward silence, with you willing Celestia to say something. She doesn't. Great. You clear your throat.

"Umm. Hello?"

>The purple o- Thats Twilight you dumbass. Oh yeah. Right. Twilight stops staring and seems to regain control a bit.

>In an almost cheery voice, she says "Hello, my name is Twilight Sparkle! heh." Well, that was awkward.

>Hmm, a socially awkward talking pony/unicorn thing looking after a socially awkward alien. WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG!?

>In order to prevent yet another awkward silence, you pipe up.

"Uh, I'm anonymous, and uh this is princess celestia."

>She already knows that you fucking retard!

>Gah, uh.......

>Whoops?

>"Oh, I already know that." She says with a sliver of a grin. She probably noticed that you are far more nervous than she is.

"Ah, yeah, of course, sorry about that".

>You idiot, what are you apologising for?

>I don't know!

>"I have so many questions for you Anon. Would you mind answering a few before we leave?" Twilight continued.

"Sure, I think. I mean, no I wouldn't mind!"

>You can feel your cheeks heating up. This is getting a bit much.

>Celestia stands up from her seat in the middle of the bedroom.

>"Now I shall take my leave, good luck in your adventures Anon, I look forward to hearing about your new life in ponyville."

"Uh, thank you your majesty."

>Don't go! You're my only kind of friend here! Oh, too late, she's out of the door. Well, fiddlesticks.

>"So, shall we get started?" Twilight levitates a quill and piece of parchment in front of her. Well that's kinda weird.

>Questions, questions, questions. You really were starting to dislike questions. But at least you got to ask a few of your own.

>This Twilight pony may as well be some kind of inquisitor with all these questions, but she actually seems pretty friendly. I think she understands that you're not the most confident creature she knows.

>The more questions she asks, the more you feel acquainted.

"So, uh, what's Ponyville like Ms. Sparkle?"

>Twilight stifles a laugh. "There's no need to be that polite anon, were going to be good friends after all."

"Sorry, it's sorta, ingrained in my mind"

>"Oh! Is that a special human thing?". She stares at you excitedly.

"No no, it's just a, um, figure of speech."

>A bit deflated, she regains her focus.

>"Ponyville's probably the nicest town in all of Equestria. Really, everyone there is kind and willing to help you out when you need it." Sounds a bit unbelievable. Maybe she's a bit biased.

>"Oh yeah, my friends will be helping me in studying you too. I mean! They'll be there to help you out too! hehheh." Well now she's turning red. Join the club sister.

>What felt like hours later, Twilight finishes talking about her friends. They sound swell. Nah they sound alright, maybe this won't be so bad.

>"So Anon, you ready to go?" Twilight says with a hint of excitement.

"What? now?"

>"Yeah c'mon!" She seems a little too excited as your sleeve lights up with her magical glow, pulling you off the bed and onto your feet.

>You half heartedly follow her through the gleaming halls of canterlot castle. You're at least slightly relieved to be out of that room for once, but hey, now you've got the whole outside world to anxious about. Oh Joy.

>You swear you have never seen any living thing be this excited about studying before. Jeez.

>"Isn't this exciting anon?"

"Uh yeah, sure Twilight".

>A few of the guard pony, things, gave you odd looks as you were dragged along but your jimmies remained largely unrustled.

>Arriving in what seemed like the castle gardens, you eyed what looked like a golden chariot. Wow. Well this must be my ride hehe.

>Shut up, you don't sound cool. At. All.

>A for effort brain?

>Nope.avi

>Fine.

>"Here we are!" Twilight exclaimed, with no sign of her excitement dissipating in the slightest.

>You notice two of the guard pony guys connected up to the chariot, but these guys had wings. Cool.

>You and Twi clamber into the cart, ready to be wheeled away by the- hang on a sec. Ponies with wings. Hmm.

>"Have you ever flown before Anon?". Uh Oh.

>You had not.

>With today's lunch turning itself over in your stomach, you can't help but admire the view from your flying chariot. The land of Equestria may be many things but it was definitly beautiful.

>"Amazing isn't it, I was amazed too!" You would bet the clothes on your back that no one could possibly be more excited than this purple pony is right now.

"Yeah, it's quite the view!"

>You have to yell to be heard over the wind, whereas Twi can just use a spell to amplify her voice. Hax.

>"So how do you like Equestria so far Anon?". I just got here, how can I answer that?

"Well, it's pretty nice so far, I guess!"

>You hear a little squee over the wind but it's faint.

>"I already sent a letter to my friends telling them to meet us at my library to welcome you". At least your presense seems to honestly be making this pony happy. You must be doing something right.

"That sounds, uh, fun! Yeah!"

>It did not sound fun. You hate being in large groups of people you don't know.

>But hey, these are talking alien ponies, not people!

>That does not make it better brain, that makes it worse!

>The sun had almost set by the time you arrived in ponyville, with the weird cottage looking houses beginning to light up from within.

>Thankfully, you had landed just outside of town, so no socially awkward introductions with the entire town today. Phew.

>"Hey! We should go into town so you can introduce yourself to everyone in person!" Nope.avi. Time to bail. Wait, Twi isn't a raging alcoholic. I think. Unbail.

"Uh, maybe we should do that later, it's getting dark".

>Please agree, please agree.

>"Oh okay, it is getting pretty late. Well lets head to the library. Ooooh this is so exciting!" Yeah, you said that already.

>From what Twi had told you, her friends sounded off the flippin' chain. Nice, but crazy as hell. What were they called again, hmm.

>Apple something, she's apparently strong. Rainbow Fast? Whatever, probably really fast? No shit. What were the other ones? Uhhhh. Flutterby? No that's not it.

>Well, you'll find out in a moment.

 

"You live in a tree?"

>Much to your amazement, Twilight's library was, in fact, inside a tree.

>"This is my home, pretty neat huh?" Gah, that was dorky as hell but, that smile. How can you say no to that face?

"Yeah it looks really nice, actually".

>Why does she keep asking for your approval with everything? You're the last guy you would want to give responsibility to.

>With that, Twi rushes off ahead and into her home, closing the door behind her? What? Why? You yell after her.

"Wait! Where are you going?"

>Damn it. You guess you'll just try the door.

>Opening it you walk inside to find, the lights are all off, it's dark as hell in here. Prepare the jimmies.

>Speaking of jimmies, you hear some rustling across what you think is the main room. Oh, here we go...

>"SURPRISE!" Multiple femenine voices cry in unison as the lights immediatly flicker on.

>Being the nervous wreck you are, this knocks you hastily onto your arse as you try to figure out what you did to deserve this.

>"Why do you look so surprised? Oh yeah, it's a surprise party!"

>Shut up brain, I'ma thinkin'

>What, I didn't say anything!

>Then who? Oh dear god...

>What you can only describe as a pink ball of fluff and energy, in the shape of a pony, is right in front of your face. Your jimmies would be rustled if you had any left.

>"Hi! I'm Pinkie Pie!" the entity squealed through the widest grin you've ever seen. "What's your name?!"

"Uhh, I, uh, umm"

>"It's just your name silly!"

>"Give 'im some space pinkie, he's new here!" Said a voice with a very noticable southern drawl. Thankfully, the pink, thing, moved away as the orange pony in the corner suggested.

>"Everyone, this is Anonymous, but you can call him Anon for short." Twilight explained, unable to hide her excitement anymore. Although when it comes to excited, the pink one takes the biscuit.

>As if to add to your sorry state, a rainbow colored blur streams over the rest of the group standing before you and gets all up in your face. Terrific.

>"Whoa, this is awesome! Look at this guy! He's taller than the princess!" Her voice was rather raspy and tomboyish but you were fairly certain this was the 'rainbow' one Twi had told you about.

>"You any good at sports new guy?" She made that statement sound as if it were a challenge. Of course, you didn't realise this until too late.

"uhh, maybe?"

>"It's on! Tomorrow, 9 'o' clock, hoofball in the town park, be there or be square!"

"Ah, I don't know if-"

>"Oh goodness, what are you wearing, it looks simply ghastly!" Well this is going swimmingly. Insults to injury and all that. A white pony, unicorn rather, similarly to twi, was the source of the complaint.

"Oh these aren't my best clothes, they're umm, just what I had on when I got summoned".

>Nice defense!

>Shut it brain.

>"Girls, introduce yourselves, don't just bombard him with useless stuff!" Yes twi, that would be most helpful.

>"I'm Pinkie Pie!"

"Yeah you kinda, said that already."

>"Duhh, that's because it's really important!"

>"Name's Applejack partner, welcome to ponyville!" Said the southern orange one. Is she wearing a hat? Does that really matter now? They're talking ponies, they can do whatever the hell they want.

>"I'm Rainbow Dash! Greatest flier in all of equestria! Don't you go forgetting that now!" the tomboyish one followed on. No ego problems there I see.

>"I, am Rarity, a pleasure to meet you Anonymous." At least she sounds polite.

"A pleasure to-"

>"Hey we should play a game!" yelled Pinkie, ruining your polite response.

"What about you?"

>You say as you notice a yellow colored pony with wings behind Twilight. After pointing her out, she only squeaks and attempts to hide further.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to point".

>"Don' worry about Fluttershy none, she's just a little shy is all" clarified Applejack. Well, you know how that feels. You won't bother her anymore.

>"You don't seem to talk much do ya Anon" exclaimed Rainbow, looking slightly annoyed. She obviously expected you to be some crazy alien.

"Sorry, just a little surprised is all."

>"That's because it's a surprise party silly! Now lets get somethin' to eat!" That pink one may be 2 sandwiches short of a picnic but she was right, you were hungry and parched.

>Twilight shows you over to a table filled with pastries, salads and a mix of different drinks while the rest of the group starts playing music and games.

>You grab a cupcake and what you hope is some lemonade. Can't be too certain in alternate universes.

>Yeah sure, travel to an alternate universe and food is your main concern.

>Hey, it's important brain, and you know it.

>Whatevs.

>As the party progressed the others in the group asked you a few questions and told you more about themselves. They all have pretty crazy lives from what you can tell, but it sounds fun at least.

>AJ works on a farm making apple related goods, tasty. Pinkie makes all the cupcakes and such at sugercube corner, which were delicious. Mental note, buy more cupcakes.

>With what? Pocket lint?

>I'll figure something out brain, gimme a chance.

>Rainbow was apparently serious about her challenge, which was great, just great. Pinkie was hyperactive for pretty much the whole night, but it seemed to make the others happy. She wasn't too bad after getting to know her.

>All of Rarity's questions seemed to involve fashion from the human world, which sadly, you didn't know anything about. But there was one thing you two had in common and that was manners, which she said were lacking around these parts.

>Through it all, Twilight seemed genuinly thrilled to see you getting along with her friends so well. It must have been really important to her.

>You have to admit, although you're in an alternate dimension with colorful talking ponies, you feel pretty happy. These mares (female ponies, Twilight had informed you) seemed genuinely interested in being your friend, something you'd never felt before.

>Oh yeah, everything's fine and dandy is it? What about where you're going to stay? How you gonna get money? huh?

>I would kill you brain, if it didn't result in me dying as well.

>The party drawing to close, twilight steps up on a, pedastal? Odd. She must give speeches often.

>"Listen up everypony, oh and you too anon" she said with a snicker. Everyone gathered round to listen to the preacher.

>"It's getting late and we need to decide where Anon's going to be staying for the next few days until his new home is built".

"What? They're building me a home?"

>Wow, now thats nice of them. "Mhm, the princess is paying for it so don't worry, but it'll take about 3 days to finish." Fast workers.

>"Now I'd love to have you around here Anon, I mean! It would be useful if you could stay here but I'm afraid I haven't got any spare beds!" There she goes, getting red again. Classic socially awkward mistake.

>"Well ya can't stay round mine, you'd fall through the clouds, hehe". Wut?. Gonna have to ask rainbow about that at a later date.

>"You can stay at my abode darling, on one condition." This'll be good. "I get to make you some actually fashionable items of clothing, does that sound acceptable?"

>"Or, y'all can stay round mahn. We've got plenty o' space at sweet apple acres and I, ah mean, we, would be happy to have ya, hehe." declared Applejack, with an oddly forced smile. Strange.

>"Hey, no fair applejack! I wanted to make human clothes!" whined Rarity with a pout.

>"Heh, see she just want's to play dress-up, y'all had best stay clear o' that Anon." Why are they arguing over this. Surely you're a burden. Maybe they're trying to get friendship points.

>"Now now girls, it's up to Anon where he wants to stay, so what do you think Anon?" Why are they all staring at me? Not good.

"Uhh, why are you asking me? I don't know"

>"wait" said a quiet voice.

>"See Twi, he dunno where tah go, but he'll be fahn round sweet apple acres, trust me." Something about that seemed a little off. You're tired anon, you never think straight when you're tired.

>"Wait" said the quiet voice, only this time, loud enough for people to hear it.

>"What's that flutters?" asked rainbow.

>Oh crap, Fluttershy, the shy one. You completly forgot about her. What a douche.

>"He can stay at mine, if that's okay with him that is..."

>Decision time Anon. Whats it gonna be?

>Why are you hyping this up brain, it's no big deal right?

>Isn't it?

>Okay, hmm. Well, you never got to know Fluttershy during party because you were an ass. You should probably make up for that.

"I think I'll stay round Fluttershy's, if that's okay with her"

>You smile a reassuring smile to her, from one shy person to another. feelsgoodman.jpg. She seems to return it, as far as you can tell.

>"Okay fine, but on the second night I simply must insist that you visit my boutique, those clothes must go!" Rarity really isn't going to let that go is she?

>"And after that, ya gotta come see the farm. It's a vital part o' ponyville, ya won't regret it!"

>"Well, I guess that sounds fair, right?" Twilight aiming that question directly to you.

"Uhh, yeah, sounds good to me, I think..."

>"HEY! What about me?!" Pinkie interupts, returning from the pastry table covered in crumbs. It almost makes you chuckle. Almost.

>"Sorry pinkie, I know everyone wants to get to know our new friendly neighborhood human, but it'll have to wait". Was that a spiderman reference? Dayum. Anyway, thank goodness for Twilight. Being around Pinkie Pie for more than one evening might hurt your head a tad too much.

>"It's getting late, Fluttershy, take Anon to your place for the night, and try not to lose him, he's very important to the princess".

>"Don't worry twilight, I'll be careful" Wow that was quiet. Pretty d'aww worthy too.

>Anon likes a pony! haha!

>No I do not brain! Shut up!

>You and Fluttershy leave the library, followed by a combined shout of goodbyes from the rest of the gang. They were pretty awesome. And you know what, this place isn't so bad.

>That means something bads gonna happen yo.

>Not this time brain. I hope...
