- The Fate of Anonymous.- Hero of Ponyville - -3-
- >You feel the impact of one of the cows. Flying through the air you've never been happier.
- >It was as if the world had slowed down, just to allow you to savour these last few moments.
- >You was at peace, you was finally getting your reward.
- >You're forced into unconsciousness when your head hits a rock on the ground.
- >blood slowly dripping from the back of your head, unbeknownst to you.
- >You enjoy this feeling. The feeling of nothingness, it returns to you again.
- >It was the one thing you had been craving and you finally had it.
- >oh no... Not again...
- >Another pinprick of white light appears in your vision
- >OH NO! YOU'RE NOT TAKING ME BACK, NOT AGAIN!
- >As much as you silently scream the light engulfs you and your eye lids slowly force themselves apart.
- >You can hear murmurings of ponies in the background
- >"Will he be alright?
- >"Other than the gash on the back of his head, he's fine. We just need to make sure he doesn't have a concussion."
- >"Did you see the way he just stood there! THAT WAS SO AWESOME!"
- >what?
- >"Rainbow! It was not 'Awesome'. He got hurt saving ponyville"
- >what?
- >"Ah Reckon he's a real hero!"
- >oh god, what?
- >In the confusion of it all you grunt in pain. Your head feels like it was just hit with an iron bar. Yes. You know how that feels.
- >You still can't quite see properly, but you make out 6 blurs rush to your side.
- >"Anonymous!? Anonymous!? Can you hear us!?"
- >Your vision slowly returns to normal and you see six worried ponies surrounding you.
- >You're in a bed, a bed not made for humans. The bed ends at your knees so your feet are on the ground.
- >"Anonymous! Say Something!" Twilight almost demanding at this point.
- "Wh-what?"
- >The six ponies visibly sigh. Pinkie pie starts bouncing all around the room.
- >"What you did was a very brave and stupid thing!" Twilight takes a tone as if telling off a naughty child.
- >"ARE YOU KIDDING IT WAS AWESOME!" Rainbow bursts into the air, striking a pose.
- >"He was stood there not even budging! He even had a smile! he wasn't scared for one second!" Rainbow acting like a fangirl.
- >"Darling, that was just simply heroic!" Rarity pipes up from the left of your bed "Even if your clothing is now ruined".
- >You want to laugh, there was nothing heroic about what you did. You was trying to off yourself.
- >Unfortunately the anguish the gash in the back of your head is putting you through denies you.
- >"Well, aint ya gunna say somethin'?"
- "P-Pain..."
- >With that you fall back unconscious and return to the peaceful void that you occupy.
- >Eventually you come to and the ponies explain what happened.
- >"So you ran out in front of the cows, When they saw you they tried to stop in time, although the front one just hit you enough to send you flying"
- >"You hit your head on a rock and fell unconscious. We then carried you here. To the hospital. You've been out for half the day"
- >You're disappointed. You were sure that you would die this time, instead you head just hurts.
- >"You saved all of ponyville though! the mayor says she's going to make you an honorary member of ponyville.
- >"She's even building you a house"
- >Oh great, so not only am I a hero, but I'm getting my own house.
- >This isn't what I asked for.
- >This causes your spiralling despondency to increase. You want nothing more than to cease to be.
- >Although these confounded ponies have other plans from the sounds of things.
- >The ponies tell you that you have to remain in hospital for the next couple of days though, just to make sure there isn't any serious brain damage.
- >Hours later Five of the ponies leave, leaving just you and Rainbow dash. You both sit there in silence.
- >You can only assume that she stayed because she wants to ask you more about what it was like to stand in front of the oncoming herd.
- >Minutes pass although they feel like entire ages. Rainbow speaks up.
- >"Sooo... Anonymous. What was it like?"
- >UNO!
- >You sit there, pausing for a moment. If she was going to be here you might as well talk to her
- >after all, you're suicidal, not a dick.
- "Anon."
- >"Wha-?"
- "You can call me Anon for short."
- >Rainbow dash smiles
- >"Okay then, how did it feel Anon?" She put extra emphasis on your shortened name.
- "Peaceful."
- >"PEACEFUL!?" Her jaw almost hitting the jaw.
- >You silently nod, nothing else needed to be said. She asked what it felt like, not why it felt like that.
- >She probably wouldn't be able to understand it anyway. You hope that she would leave it at that, thankfully she did.
- >"What was your life like back on earth?"
- >Earlier when the all ponies were around they had asked you where you was from. They asked quite a few questions actually.
- >Each one you gave a one word answer to. You didn't want or need to know them.
- >Right now you are regretting even saying one word. 'Earth'.
- >You sigh, although dash continues to look on quizzically at you.
- "Rainbow Dash I'm tired. I think I'm just going to go to sleep."
- >The cyan pony pouts.
- >"Can I come by and hang out tomorrow?"
- >You nod you head in consent. She smiles again and begins to walk out of the room, as she reaches the door she turns her head
- >"You can call me dash for short."
- >You smile from reflex so she see her message is heard. The smile a false reflection of your emotions though.
- >'What was my life back on earth'... It was enough to drive you into this endless pit of desolation.
- >Unable to truly trust anyone or anything, for fear of the worst.
- >Remembering your old life hot tears slowly flow from your bloodshot eyes.
- >Never again.
- >It's 2pm the next day and already you regret allowing Rainbow dash to come and visit.
- >Question after question is fired at you. You only manage to get out of answering about half of them.
- >On top of that Fluttershy is also visiting and feels the need to take personal care of you, even though there are doctors.
- >'If there is a god, please, kill me now.'
- >"And this one time I had to save Rarity and I got so much speed that I-"
- "Dash!"
- >She stops her story and looks at you dumbstruck.
- "I'm really hungry, could you and Fluttershy please get me something to eat."
- >Fluttershy looks up at you timidly.
- >"I-I can make you a salad, I mean, if you want me to."
- >You look tenderly at Fluttershy
- "Thank you Fluttershy."
- >"Ok Anon, we'll be back in ten minutes, don't do anything stupid while we're gone!" dash and Fluttershy already flying out of the room.
- >Praise the deity of your choice, they're gone.
- >You sit, starring at the ceiling for some time before the nurses wheel a cart into the room and check up on you.
- >They look at the back of head and write something down on a clipboard.
- >Before they can leave with the cart they hear a yelling from another room and rush out. Leaving the cart next to your bed.
- >You rock you head towards the cart unenthusiastically. In bold writing on the side of a bottle it read "PAINKILLERS".
- >Clearly they had no concept of subtlety. Although this gets you thinking. Painkillers, for small horses.
- >You reach out to the bottle and snatch it quickly before the nurses return, hiding it under your pillow.
- >The nurses return after having dealt with the incident in the other room. They eye you again before taking off.
- >You wait a couple more minute before you pull the bottle out from your pillow and look at it.
- >This would be it, this would be what finally allows you to stop it all. You hastily open up the container.
- >There is no being saved from this. This was permanent. You smile to yourself. Finally.
- >Without a second thought you start to swallow the pills, must be, thirty, forty pills.
- >There would be no pain. It would be like going to sleep. You empty the bottle and throw it in the nearby bin.
- >Thirty minutes, the amount of time until you take what is yours. Rest.
- >As the bin rattles from the bottle Fluttershy and Dash walk in. Fluttershy holding a box.
- >They notice your smiling form and immediately perk up. They think you're happy to see them.
- >"Hey Anon, I got you your salad." Fluttershy hand you the box and you open it up.
- >You even get to have a last meal. This couldn't be any better.
- >You look up at the two ponies and with the most sincerity that you have ever spoken say
- "Thank you... Really I mean it."
- >You tuck into your salad whilst the two ponies sit and keep you company.
- >You think this is the happiest you've been in years.
- >You keep a mental clock running. The Pills should take effect into Twenty minutes.
- >Not long now...
