- >The ship gave off a low hum as the FTL drive propelled you from the Relay station towards the citadel
- >Joker was arguing with EDI as normal about how to control the Normandy
- >You let out a relieved sigh after accepting the fact you just came out of that suicide mission alive
- >Tali walks passed you with a wave and what you would gess was a smile behind that mask
- >"Finished the repairs to the drive commander, Keelah that was a lot of work."
- >She walks towards the cockpit to join in the verbal brawl with Joker and EDI
- >Little does she know you've been eyeing her ass the whole time.
- >Suddenly your attention is broken by Kellies voice
- >"Commander, Admiral Hacket is on the line."
- "Patch it through."
- >"Shepard, It's good to see your still in one piece along with your crew. That Omega Relay run had us all on the edge of our seats"
- "Cut to the chase Admiral."
- >"We've discovered a new Mass Effect gate although its trajectory is... Impossible to predict"
- >Let me guess
- >"We wouldn't normally ask you to be the guinea pic in these type of operations."
- "Why the change?"
- >The Relay is so close to the Citadel that it needs to be investigated right now by someone who knows what they're doing."
- >*Sigh*
- "Give me the co-ordinates Admiral. We'll check it out."
- >"This should be a simple run shepard. Fifth Fleet out."
- "Joker, set a course."
- >Joker apparently missed your last order as he's still bickering with EDI
- >...
- "JOKER!"
- >Poor guy nearly fell out of his seat.
- >"Ah- Commander! You scared the hell out of me."
- "Set a course with the co-ordinates fifth fleet just gave us. You're going to have to reschedule that meeting with the Consort."
- >"Wh- ... Aye Commander."
- >Joker began cursing under his breath as he layed in the co-ordinates.
- >He'd been looking forward to that visit for months.
- >"We're coming up on the relay Commander, you think the clowns over at fifth would've come up with a name for this thing by now"
- >You slowly hear joker gasp as the relay comes within visual range
- >"Commander... You might wanna see this."
- >Mother of god, this thing is massive, atleast 5 times the size of a regular mass relay
- >".... So... Where do you think it goes?"
- >You see the blue orbs light pierce the dark abyss around the relay.
- >You've traveled through these things a million times. This one however seems.... different.
- "There's only one way to find out."
- "When we get close enough let the Relay's navigational systems point us in the right direction. We're flying blind for now."
- >Joker smiles and turns to you
- >"Looks like I'm out of a job for now... Hmm... I think I got a name for that relay Commander."
- "And that is?"
- >"The Goliath Relay."
- >A fitting name. Joker actually came up with something meaningful and not sarcastic.
- >You thought you'd never see that day coming.
- >"Mass Acceleration in five seconds."
- >"four"
- >"three"
- >"two"
- >"one"
- >As the normandy approaches the goliath gate a blue streak slams into the side of the ship
- >"What the shit!?"
- "Joker! What's happening"
- >"Commander these energy readings are off the charts, this things gonna shake us apart!"
- "Get us outta here!"
- >Joker frantically rattles on the controls
- >"-I cant the mass acceleration sequence has already begun!!!"
- "EDI?"
- >"There is nothing we can do commander."
- >You run over to your post and get on the intercom
- >"This is the Commander, everybody hang on! we're in for a rough ride."
- >The blue beam outside suddenly explodes in size and your ship is bathed in a cyan glow
- >Your ship begins to get pulled along the mass rails
- >The Normandy begins to vibrate as the mass coils begin to charge
- "Here we go..."
- >With an ear-shattering explosion the normandy is jeticined into the black void.
- >...
- >*cough*
- >Your lungs burn as they fill with air
- >Your eyes sting like they've just been sprayed with chlorine
- >The back of your head feels like it's just gone twenty rounds with mike tyson
- >With the painful aching of your muscles you roll onto your stomach and get yourself onto your feet
- >You gaze around the area but it's night time so you cant make out any landmarks or recognisable locations.
- >Apart from a series of fires that illuminate the face of what looks to be a mountain
- >Twisted, broken and battered metal showered the entire hillside
- >What the hell just happened?
- >As you try to recall the events a horrible realisation hits you
- >You can't remember where you are, how you got here... You can't even remember your name, or if you had any family.
- >You brush the back of your head as you feel sweat begin to run down your shoulders.
- >You hold your hand up and squint at it in the light of the moon.
- >That's not sweat at all... That's blood.
- >You carefully dab your hand across the back of your head again and feel a large fissure
- >about the width and length of your index finger has been cut out of the back of your head.
- >Your vision blurrs as you try to take a few steps forward.
- >It seems that the blood loss has taken its toll.
- >Your knees buckle under your weight and you black out face down in the grass.
