>Little Star was feeling quite pleased with himself
>He had managed to go a full day without any form of caffeine!
>It wasn't easy, but being with his best friend all day was enough to resist the urge
>But now everyone was winding down and going to bed at Treads' house, where he often crashed
>Star happily trotted to the guestroom, which was now simply known as "Star's room"
>He was excited to start where he last left off in his historybook
>Once he started reading something interesting he could hardly stop
>Humming a germane marching song as he pushed open the door to his room
>There Treads lay on his bed
>The light from the lamp on the nightstand in the otherwise darkened room lit upon the stained golden hair that flowed down and about her shoulders
>Her hindlegs were stretched out behind her displaying her curves, her plot and cuitemark being prominent
>Her face, however, read that of a stern scowl
>Star was frozen
>He could only stare slack-jawedly at his best friend almost completely laid out before him
>It was almost enough to stir that little feeling down below that he usually only got when looking at certain tank illustrations
>"Star", she said "I know how you stay up late reading your books."
>He slowly looked down to the saddlebags in his hoof and back up to her
>"Getting a full night's sleep is important for your health so I'm going to make sure you get it."
>Treads' expression softens and she smiles as she pats the space on the bad beside her
>After taking a moment to bring himself back together and close his mouth again he walks over and places his bags on the nightstand
>After flicking out the light Star slowly crawls into bed beside Treads, somewhat uncomfortable with the current situation
>He lies down on his side facing away from her, hoping to avoid awkwardness
>After a moment of quiet Star feels movement on the bed behind him
>Treads throws a blanket over the two of them and Star almost jumps when he feels her hooves go around him and even a wing drape over his side as she makes him the... little spoon?
>There's a contented sigh from the petite mare as she runs a hoof through his chest tuft for a moment
>"That's better" She says hugging herself closer to him and nuzzling into his upperback
>"Goodnight Star"
"...Goodnight Treads"
>Little Star decided that maybe he could hold off on that chapter, if only for one night
