  2. >You've lost count of the days.
  3. >You've lost count of everything.
  4. >You always remind yourself of your inadequacy.
  5. >Your failure.
  6. >Your weakness.
  7. >You haven't said a word since that night.
  8. >Twilight keeps running tests on you.
  9. >The physical strain is nothing anymore.
  10. >You scream no screams.
  11. >You cry no tears.
  12. >You feel the pain.
  13. >And you desperately try to hate these horse beings.
  14. >You eat your rations only to live.
  15. >You live only to see this place burn.
  16. >You don't remember your past adult life.
  17. >You don't remember life after getting out of your “home,” really.
  18. >That life made you weak.
  19. >Soft.
  20. >Useless.
  21. >You remember the pain
  22. >The pain fills this hole that's been ripped back open.
  23. >The hole you said that you'd already left behind.
  24. >Pinkie is strangely stoic.
  25. >Most nights, you just stare at each other.
  26. >Neither of you saying a word.
  27. >Sometimes she smiles a sad smile at you.
  28. >It's almost like she empathizes with you now.
  29. >Like she knows what it's like not to feel anything but pain.
  30. >Sometimes she cuts into you.
  31. >Slowly.
  32. >Delicately.
  33. >No words are needed in either case.
  34. >You still wanted nothing less than to hate her for doing what she did.
  35. >To hate them all for doing what they did.
  36. >But these two horses deserved all the pain you would give them.
  37. >All the pain and more.
  38. >You take mental notes about everything.
  39. >The layout of the room.
  40. >The layout of your cell.
  41. >You test the bars, the walls, the bed.
  42. >You test your strength against Twilight's tests, throwing yourself at them with reckless abandon.
  43. >A part of your hopes to die in the middle of those tests.
  44. >But most of you remembers the memory of that little orange filly.
  45. >Regardless of your plans, everything really just stays the same.
  46. >Day in, day out, all the same.
  47. >No different.
  48. >No way out.
  49. >Living for the sake of living.
  50. >Until one particular night.
  51. >Pinkie and you are in another staring bout.
  52. >Neither of you saying a word.
  53. >Neither of you moving.
  54. >Her sitting on her haunches, you sitting in your chair.
  55. >The only difference is that all of the lights are on in the room this time.
  56. >Other than that, it's the same thi-
  57. >”I'm sorry.”
  58. >You don't acknowledge it at first.
  59. >You don't understand what she just said, really.
  60. >She walks up to you and hugs you.
  61. >”I'm so sorry.”
  62. >You're in shock.
  63. >What's happening here?
  64. >Then she backs up and pulls out her knife.
  65. >Oh.
  66. >So that's it.
  67. >This is the end.
  68. >She walks behind you slowly, looking down the entire time.
  69. >You silently apologize to the three little fillies.
  70. >You couldn't do anything about this place.
  71. >You couldn't make their deaths have some sort of meaning.
  72. >A tear rolls down your cheek as you accept your fate.
  73. >You close your eyes and wait for it.
  74. >And wait.
  75. >And wait.
  76. >It never comes.
  77. >Instead, your bindings fall off.
  78. >”Twilight's gone for the night. The keys are hanging on the door. I'll be waiting when your ready.”
  79. >What?
  80. “What is this?”
  81. >Silence.
  82. >You don't move.
  83. >Is this some sort of trick?
  84. >A test?
  85. >Nothing like this has happened before.
  86. >It's too good to not try and take it.
  87. >You slowly get up.
  88. >Nothing happens.
  89. >You look behind you.
  90. >Pinkie's gone.
  91. >The room's empty, save for you.
  92. >You look over at the door, and sure enough, there are keys on the door.
  93. >Keys to the cells, maybe?
  94. >This could be a trap.
  95. >A test.
  96. >Does it really matter at this point?
  97. “Fuck it.”
  98. >You throw caution to the wind and run over to the door.
  99. >You get the keys and open it.
  100. >The door opens.
  101. >That's it.
  102. >You see the hallway in front of you.
  103. >There's nine cells in the hall.
  104. >Besides your cell and the three cells for the fillies, you have no idea who is in the others.
  105. >You walk down the hall, not paying attention to them.
  106. >You can feel eyes on your back as you walk to door on the other end.
  107. >You have no intention of leaving this place, so taking them with you would be pointless.
  108. >You have some business you need to take care of.
  109. >You take a look at the room that you spent the past God-knows-how-long in.
  110. >Looks weird from the outside.
  111. >You look behind you, at the cells of the three fillies.
  112. >You look at them, then down at the keys.
  113. >You see the three in their cells, looking up at you.
  114. >The white one speaks.
  115. >”Help them, Anonymous.”
  116. “They'll slow me down.”
  117. >The yellow one speaks.
  118. >”You need to get them out of here. You need to help the.”
  119. “I need to take care of the two that did this.”
  120. >You start walking away when you hear another voice.
  121. >”Remember what I told you. You need to be strong.”
  122. “I...”
  123. >You look back at the keys, then down the hall at the other cells.
  124. >You see four mini horses the size of Pinkie and Twilight.
  125. >They each have a collar on them as well.
  126. >You look up and close your eyes.
  127. >”You need to be strong.”
  128. >You look down at the three cells, seeing them as they truly are.
  129. >Empty.
  130. >You sigh.
  131. >You start unlocking the four cells that actually have something in them.
  132. “Alright. I'll be strong.”
