  1. >You decide to ask Chrysalis about it first.
  2. >However, you don’t want the changing to run off.
  3. >Derp.
  4. >You can just tell it to stay put.
  5. >You do so and head back to the storage chamber for the Spirit Emerald.
  6.
  7. “Chrysalis, we need to talk about something.”
  8.
  9. >”What is it?”
  10.
  11. “It’s about the mental locks you’ve put in place on the changelings.
  12.
  13. >She frowns.
  14. >”So you found out about that?”
  15.
  16. “I was thinking testing unlocking the Problem Solving portion of their brains, starting with one drone to test. It might improve their performance in general.”
  17.
  18. >She seems to mull it over for a bit before she answers.
  19. >”I think you might have a point. Alright, you have my permission. Do some test and then tell me how it goes.”
  20. >You nod and head off again.
  21. >What kind of tests could you perform…
  22. >What about a maze?
  23. >You don’t have access to any mazes, but the ponies might.
  24. >You remember the purple one being the de facto leader and decide you’d best take the drone and pay her a visit.
  25. >A simple command is all it takes, and the drone meets you at the exit.
  26.
  27. >Now at Ponyville.
  28. >Find Purple Unicorn.
  29.
  30. “You there, what was your name… Twittlelight Spickle?”
  31.
  32. >She notices you and tenses.
  33. >”No, it’s Twilight Sparkle. What do you want?”
  34.
  35. “Right. I need access to a large maze. Hedge maze maybe?”
  36.
  37. >”Why?”
  38. >She’s confused.
  39.
  40. “Testing something.”
  41.
  42. >”Well, there is the one in Canterlot, but you’d have to ask Princess Celestia.”
  43. >You sigh.
  44. >More white horsie.
  45. >Brilliant.
  46.
  47. >Now in Canterlot.
  48. >Enter Throne Room.
  49.
  50. “Princess Celestia, I require use of the hedge maze here for a test. I’m going to attempt unblocking the problem solving center of this drone’s brain.”
  51.
  52. >You wave a hoof dismissively.
  53.
  54. “Long, complicated story.”
  55.
  56. >She eyes you warily, but seems to understand that you can’t do any harm in a hedge maze.
  57. >If anything, the Changeling might require you to go in after it.
  58. >”Very well. Come with me.”
  59. >She leads you and the drone to the entrance.
  60. >You delve into the mind and shatter the lock on the Problem Solving portion of the drone’s brain.
  61. >A sort of spark appears in its eyes.
  62.
  63. “Now, use your new skills to navigate this maze to its center and return. No magic, no flying.”
  64.
  65. >It nods and speeds off.
  66. >You look around and see a tall statue of a slender being with a look of terror on its face.
  67.
  68. “What’s this?”
  69.
  70. >You ask.
  71. >it’s an innocent enough question.
  72. >”That… is Discord.”
  73.
  74. “What? It isn’t a state of disharmony and unrest.”
  75.
  76. >”That’s his name.” White Horsie explains.
  77. >Oh.
  78.
  79. “But what is he?”
  80.
  81. >”A draconequus,” white horsie explains. “A combination of various creatures and embodiment of pure chaos.”
  82.
  83. “So why’s it made of stone?”
  84.
  85. >”He was sealed away by Twilight Sparkle and her friends some time ago.”
  86. >Okay, that’s interesting.
  87. >However, just looking at the statue seems to give White Horsie the creeps.
  88. >You can feel something odd from her, something you wouldn’t expect.
  89. >Fear.
  90. >She’s trying to hide it, but doing a pitiful job if YOU can sense it of all changelings.
  91. >You don’t say anything however.
  92. >She leave you to await the drone.
  93. >Curiosity and boredom are a bad combination, and the maze is large.
  94. >You begin to circle the strange statue.
  95. >You kind of want to touch it, a childish feeling you know.
  96. >Still, it’s like a sort of Pandora’s box, a forbidden fruit.
  97. >You think about what to do.
