- >It’s been about a week and a half since you arrived in p0ny land.
- >Today Luna’s trying to figure out how the fuck you got here.
- >Finally.
- >Turns out she’s been researching ways to trace magic.
- >That’s the assumed reason you’re here, a failed spell by some random Unicorn.
- >Yes, you’ve finally started calling the different breeds of p0ny by their proper titles.
- >You’ve also become good friends with Luna over that week and a half.
- >Back to the present.
- >Halos of magical energy are moving across your body.
- >They stop.
- >”This magic is so erratic and faded tis’ no way for Us to find the caster. We apologize. We will still do whatever We are able to return you home.”
- “Thank you kindly.”
- >”Do not mention it, Anonymous.”
- “Please, call me Anon. S’ what all my friends back home call me. S’pose ya’llre my only friend now, right?”
- >She seems surprised that you think of her as a friend.
- >You guess that she’s respected as a Princess, but she doesn’t have any friends.
- >It’s always you she spends her free time with.
- >Seems that her sister being in the spotlight leaves her with plenty of free time.
- >”You may call Us Luna.”
- >Seems fair.
- >You help her put away the various books and the two of you play another game of cards.
- >That night when you finally go to bed you have another, more vivid dream.
- >”Can’t…. Filthy…”
- >”…Him! Allow…. To have….!”
- >”Sending…to..!”
- >You feel a burning in your throat and an even more vivid cold.
- >You shoot awake again.
- >You recognized the voices.
- >The first was White horse.
- >The second… was Luna.
- >You lean forward and bury your face in your hands, slowly dragging them down as you pull your head up with a groan.
- >You get up and retrieve a glass before filling it with water from the sink in your bathroom.
- >You down the water and sigh.
- >Damn sink handles were jamming again.
- >You put the glass down and look at your reflection in the mirror.
- >Bags under your eyes.
- >Jesus, it looks like you’re sleep deprived.
- >Splash some water on your face, dry off, and go back to bed.
- >You wake up the next day later than usual.
- >In fact, the sun is nearing the end of its arc.
- >You hurry to get yourself together.
- >During the last week, Luna had managed a duplication spell that gave you seven identical sets of clothing, one for every day of the week, plus one more just in case.
- >Throw all the clothing on, grab your revolver, put on your hat (that hadn’t been duplicated; it was one of a kind), and hurry to where you saw White horse.
- >You were going to have a talk with her.
- >Finally reach the balcony, catch her as she’s leaving.
- >”Tis’ you again. Whatever dost thou want?”
- “We need t’ have a talk.”
- >”Tis’ nothing to discuss.”
- “Don’t pull that shit on me dammit. You need to be knocked down a notch. Ya’ll don’t go bout’ treatin’ yer sister too fair. Ya’ll need to let her put in her two cents.”
- >”Do not tell Us how to treat Our sister, human. Tis’ not your place.”
- >She starts to walk past you but you block her path.
- “That’s where yer’ wrong. She’s mah friend. I ain’t gonna let ya’ll push her around.”
- >She continues on her way, her nose in the air.
- >You scowl and head off to the library.
- >You and Luna were going to try and find another way to send you home.
- >You are Princess Luna, ruler of the night and sister to Celestia.
- >Right now you’re concerned for your sanity.
- >Ever since that human had arrived that voice in your head that hated your sister became louder.
- >Every day.
- >Louder, more prominent.
- >At first it was but the occasional whisper, but now it was beginning to become more assertive.
- >You were surely going mad.
- >However, you had a promise to keep.
- >You would return this human, your friend, to his home.
- >The thought of him being gone brought a pain to your chest.
- >When he left, you’d be alone.
- >Again.
- >Still, he didn’t belong here.
- >His home was worlds away.
- >As his friend, it was your job to see to his best interests.
- >Even if it hurt to let him go.
- >Like it had your mother.
- >She had vanished one day.
- >You couldn’t remember your father, but your sister did.
- >He was strict but loved the two of you very much.
- >The voice clawed at your mind again.
- >You shake your head to ward it off and continue on to the library as you put on your crown.
- >Luna finally arrives.
- >The two of you begin searching for anything related to teleportation.
- >Well here’s something interesting.
- >”Mind Reading for the Inept”.
- >You open the book and begin reading.
- >You aren’t a unicorn, but that thing your belt buckle turned into is a natural source of magic.
- >Here goes nothing.
- >You focus and reach out to Luna.
- >However, you take a tumble from the stepladder when a monstrous visage appears in your mind’s eye.
- >It vaguely resembles Luna, but it had slits for pupils and fangs.
- >It let out a roar before you broke the connection.
- >”Art thou alright?!”
- “One helluva mental wall ya’ll got there.”
- >”What dost thou speaketh of?”
- “Found this. Tried to read your mind. Saw some kinda’ monster or somethin’.”
- >You show the book.
- >She turns and takes the book from your grasp, putting it back on the shelf.
- >”Tis not polite to read one’s mind without permission.”
- “..Sorry.”
- >”You are forgiven. Let us continue searching.”
- >You note the shakiness in her voice.
- >She’s spooked.
- “There somethin’ ya’ll aint’ tellin’ me?”
- >”N-No, nothing. Fewer questions, more research!”
- >You’re still concerned but you shrug and continue searching.
- >Hours of hunting brought nothing useful.
- >The first spark of doubt appeared in your mind.
- >What if you couldn’t go home?
- >What if you were stuck here for the rest of your days?
- >No.
- >You WOULD find a way back.
- >You sigh.
- >You need a drink.
- “Think I’m going to head into the city, find a bar or somethin’.”
- >You had a good handful of bits from the work you’d done over the past week or so.
- >Strange name for a currency, bits.
- >At least, that was your thought on the coins.
- >”…Very well.”
- >You head off.
- >Your existence wasn’t a surprise to any of the p0nies anymore.
- >They’d just accepted you as a strange creature that was docile unless provoked.
- >You found a tavern and entered, managing to rest yourself on a barstool.
- >You pass the bits over and the bartender fills a mug full of beer.
- >Oat Beer according to the menu.
- >Interesting.
- >You take a swig and find out it aint’ too bad.
- >Pretty good actually.
- >You feel a tap on your shoulder and look to your left.
- >”Fifty bits says I can out-drink you.”
- >Oh it’s on.
- >Obviously the stallion doesn’t know who he’s dealing with.
- >You’re about to drink this poor bastard under the table.
- “Yer’ on.”
- >You finish the current mug and the bartender passes down two more, one for each of you.
- >A few mugs later and the surrounding p0nies get what’s going down.
- >You have an audience.
- >A few more and you’re both on pretty even terms.
- >Oh, he’s good.
- >But not good enough.
- >Several drinks later, you’re hammered and the stallion’s out cold.
- >Several p0nies are starting to worry he’s got alcohol poisoning.
- >You manage take the fifty bits off of the counter and put them in your wallet, almost missing several times.
- >Turns out word of your exploit made its way back to Luna.
- >You really aren’t all there when she arrives with two of her guards.
- >The tavern gets quiet and p0nies bow as she walks past.
- “Well howdy there, L-Luna!”
- >You manage.
- “What brings ya’ll this way?”
- >”We heard of your… misadventure. We have come to ensure you do not harm yourself returning to the castle.”
- “Thank y’ kindly, but I can handle m’self!”
- >You slur.
- >You stand up and attempt to walk before stumbling and catching yourself on a nearby table.
- “See? Fine!”
- >She nods and the guards go over and help you stand.
- >You shake them off.
- “Git yer’ hooves offa me! I-I can walk on my own two damn feet!”
- >You stumble to the door and catch yourself on the frame.
- >You look over to Luna and squint.
- “Mind tellin’ me why there’s three uh’ yah?”
- >She rolls her eyes and you feel a slight weightlessness as you’re held aloft by her telekinetic grasp.
- >Upon returning to the castle, she dismisses the guards.
- >You finally reach your room.
- >You balance yourself on the doorframe.
- “Thanks darlin’. I don’t know what I’d do without ya.”
- >Then you do something you’ll regret in the morning, but won’t be able to remember too well for a couple of reasons:
- >You slap the horse’s ass.
- >This earns you not only a comment of “I never!” but a hoof to the face as she bucks you unconscious.
- >The dreams are somewhat different now.
- >You see stars.
- >Literally.
- >The vast expanse of space is before you.
- >You’re ice cold, but the burning in your throat intensifies with each breath you take.
- >You realize something:
- >You’re on the moon.
- >Alone.
- >You try and scream but nothing; you can’t move.
- >You couldn’t believe he had the NERVE!
- >Even intoxicated that heavily, he should have at least known better than to… to…!
- >You can feel the heat of embarrassment on your visage as you return to your chambers.
- >Your guards raise eyebrows at your current state.
- >Unlike your sister, you were a bit more lenient with your guards’ behavior.
- >They were p0nies too, not emotionless sentries.
- >”Your highness? If you do not mind my asking… what seems to be wrong?”
- “Drag the human back into his chambers and lock the door! Keep a guard posted there until I return!”
- >”Yes ma’am.”
- >The two guards dispatch to Anon’s chambers.
- >You enter your own.
- >You go back to fuming about the nerve of him to have touched your flank, let alone slap it in such a manner!
- >You felt violated, furious, and yet…
- >Something about it was curiously pleasing.
- >You shake your head.
- >That was the most degrading thing anyp0ny had done to you EVER.
- >You curl up on your bed and go to sleep.
- >However, sleep is not to be your sanctuary.
- >You come face to face with HER in the depths of your mind.
- >You notice the chains that bind her have become fewer by one or two.
- >Your inner demon.
- >Your Nightmare.
- >”Admit it; if it was anyp0ny else you’d make their heads roll. Something’s different about him.”
- “We do not wish to speak with you. Us.”
- >She chuckles.
- >”Of course you don’t. But you can’t deny what I’m saying is the truth. After all, I’m you.”
- “SILENCE! Thou art not the same as Us! Thou art a vile creature!”
- >”I’m the darkness within your heart. I am the creature that feasts upon dreams and turns them to nightmares and all things obscene. But I’m you. And I know…”
- “Do not say it.”
- >”I know that…”
- “SILENCE!”
- >”You want him as more than just a friend.”
- >You can’t respond.
- >She is correct.
- >At first it was friendship, but you admired his headstrong attitude and his ability to say what was on his mind without a second thought.
- >The way he stood up to your sister.
- >He was arrogant, prideful, and full of himself, but he was the only one who’d ever stood up to your sister and questioned her treatment of you.
- >”See? You know I’m right. You also know…”
- “…Our sister wouldn’t have any of it. T’would have to be a secret.”
- >”That is.. unless you-!”
- “We will not betray our sister to the point of attacking her.”
- >She frowns.
- >”Very well. But I do believe you’ll come to see it my way.”
- >You wake up the next day with a splitting headache.
- >You vaguely remember going to a tavern and getting into a drinking match with a stallion there…
- >After that, you can’t recall anything.
- >You Realize you’re lying on the floor.
- >You manage your way to the bathroom and splash some cold water on your face.
- >Not much help, but it’s something.
- >No painkillers here yet.
- >You try to leave the room but the door’s locked.
- >”Sorry, but Princess Luna told us not to let you out until she comes back.” Said one voice.
- >Oh.
- >”What did you DO anyway? She seemed pretty upset.” Said a second voice.
- “Th’ Hell if I know. I don’t remember much anythyin’ from last night. I do got a mighty strong headache though.”
- >Mumbling and then hoofsteps that faded off.
- >”I sent Winter’s Vengeance off to get some mint. It’ll help your headache. I recommend you relax until Her Highness arrives.”
- >You sigh and go sit down at the desk and start up another game of Solitaire
- >Today is going to be a long day.
