  1. >It’s been about a week and a half since you arrived in p0ny land.
  2. >Today Luna’s trying to figure out how the fuck you got here.
  3. >Finally.
  4. >Turns out she’s been researching ways to trace magic.
  5. >That’s the assumed reason you’re here, a failed spell by some random Unicorn.
  6. >Yes, you’ve finally started calling the different breeds of p0ny by their proper titles.
  7. >You’ve also become good friends with Luna over that week and a half.
  8. >Back to the present.
  9. >Halos of magical energy are moving across your body.
  10. >They stop.
  11. >”This magic is so erratic and faded tis’ no way for Us to find the caster. We apologize. We will still do whatever We are able to return you home.”
  12. “Thank you kindly.”
  13. >”Do not mention it, Anonymous.”
  14. “Please, call me Anon. S’ what all my friends back home call me. S’pose ya’llre my only friend now, right?”
  15. >She seems surprised that you think of her as a friend.
  16. >You guess that she’s respected as a Princess, but she doesn’t have any friends.
  17. >It’s always you she spends her free time with.
  18. >Seems that her sister being in the spotlight leaves her with plenty of free time.
  19. >”You may call Us Luna.”
  20. >Seems fair.
  21. >You help her put away the various books and the two of you play another game of cards.
  22.
  23. >That night when you finally go to bed you have another, more vivid dream.
  24. >”Can’t…. Filthy…”
  25. >”…Him! Allow…. To have….!”
  26. >”Sending…to..!”
  27. >You feel a burning in your throat and an even more vivid cold.
  28. >You shoot awake again.
  29. >You recognized the voices.
  30. >The first was White horse.
  31. >The second… was Luna.
  32. >You lean forward and bury your face in your hands, slowly dragging them down as you pull your head up with a groan.
  33. >You get up and retrieve a glass before filling it with water from the sink in your bathroom.
  34. >You down the water and sigh.
  35. >Damn sink handles were jamming again.
  36. >You put the glass down and look at your reflection in the mirror.
  37. >Bags under your eyes.
  38. >Jesus, it looks like you’re sleep deprived.
  39. >Splash some water on your face, dry off, and go back to bed.
  40.
  41. >You wake up the next day later than usual.
  42. >In fact, the sun is nearing the end of its arc.
  43. >You hurry to get yourself together.
  44. >During the last week, Luna had managed a duplication spell that gave you seven identical sets of clothing, one for every day of the week, plus one more just in case.
  45. >Throw all the clothing on, grab your revolver, put on your hat (that hadn’t been duplicated; it was one of a kind), and hurry to where you saw White horse.
  46. >You were going to have a talk with her.
  47. >Finally reach the balcony, catch her as she’s leaving.
  48. >”Tis’ you again. Whatever dost thou want?”
  49.
  50. “We need t’ have a talk.”
  51.
  52. >”Tis’ nothing to discuss.”
  53.
  54. “Don’t pull that shit on me dammit. You need to be knocked down a notch. Ya’ll don’t go bout’ treatin’ yer sister too fair. Ya’ll need to let her put in her two cents.”
  55.
  56. >”Do not tell Us how to treat Our sister, human. Tis’ not your place.”
  57. >She starts to walk past you but you block her path.
  58.
  59. “That’s where yer’ wrong. She’s mah friend. I ain’t gonna let ya’ll  push her around.”
  60.
  61. >She continues on her way, her nose in the air.
  62. >You scowl and head off to the library.
  63. >You and Luna were going to try and find another way to send you home.
  64.
  65. >You are Princess Luna, ruler of the night and sister to Celestia.
  66. >Right now you’re concerned for your sanity.
  67. >Ever since that human had arrived that voice in your head that hated your sister became louder.
  68. >Every day.
  69. >Louder, more prominent.
  70. >At first it was but the occasional whisper, but now it was beginning to become more assertive.
  71. >You were surely going mad.
  72. >However, you had a promise to keep.
  73. >You would return this human, your friend, to his home.
  74. >The thought of him being gone brought a pain to your chest.
  75. >When he left, you’d be alone.
  76. >Again.
  77. >Still, he didn’t belong here.
  78. >His home was worlds away.
  79. >As his friend, it was your job to see to his best interests.
  80. >Even if it hurt to let him go.
  81. >Like it had your mother.
  82. >She had vanished one day.
  83. >You couldn’t remember your father, but your sister did.
  84. >He was strict but loved the two of you very much.
  85. >The voice clawed at your mind again.
  86. >You shake your head to ward it off and continue on to the library as you put on your crown.
  87.
  88. >Luna finally arrives.
  89. >The two of you begin searching for anything related to teleportation.
  90. >Well here’s something interesting.
  91. >”Mind Reading for the Inept”.
  92. >You open the book and begin reading.
  93. >You aren’t a unicorn, but that thing your belt buckle turned into is a natural source of magic.
  94. >Here goes nothing.
  95. >You focus and reach out to Luna.
  96. >However, you take a tumble from the stepladder when a monstrous visage appears in your mind’s eye.
  97. >It vaguely resembles Luna, but it had slits for pupils and fangs.
  98. >It let out a roar before you broke the connection.
  99. >”Art thou alright?!”
  100.
  101. “One helluva mental wall ya’ll got there.”
  102.
  103. >”What dost thou speaketh of?”
  104.
  105. “Found this. Tried to read your mind. Saw some kinda’ monster or somethin’.”
  106.
  107. >You show the book.
  108. >She turns and takes the book from your grasp, putting it back on the shelf.
  109. >”Tis not polite to read one’s mind without permission.”
  110.
  111. “..Sorry.”
  112.
  113. >”You are forgiven. Let us continue searching.”
  114. >You note the shakiness in her voice.
  115. >She’s spooked.
  116.
  117. “There somethin’ ya’ll aint’ tellin’ me?”
  118.
  119. >”N-No, nothing. Fewer questions, more research!”
  120. >You’re still concerned but you shrug and continue searching.
  121. >Hours of hunting brought nothing useful.
  122. >The first spark of doubt appeared in your mind.
  123. >What if you couldn’t go home?
  124. >What if you were stuck here for the rest of your days?
  125. >No.
  126. >You WOULD find a way back.
  127. >You sigh.
  128. >You need a drink.
  129.
  130. “Think I’m going to head into the city, find a bar or somethin’.”
  131.
  132. >You had a good handful of bits from the work you’d done over the past week or so.
  133. >Strange name for a currency, bits.
  134. >At least, that was your thought on the coins.
  135. >”…Very well.”
  136. >You head off.
  137. >Your existence wasn’t a surprise to any of the p0nies anymore.
  138. >They’d just accepted you as a strange creature that was docile unless provoked.
  139. >You found a tavern and entered, managing to rest yourself on a barstool.
  140. >You pass the bits over and the bartender fills a mug full of beer.
  141. >Oat Beer according to the menu.
  142. >Interesting.
  143. >You take a swig and find out it aint’ too bad.
  144. >Pretty good actually.
  145. >You feel a tap on your shoulder and look to your left.
  146. >”Fifty bits says I can out-drink you.”
  147. >Oh it’s on.
  148. >Obviously the stallion doesn’t know who he’s dealing with.
  149. >You’re about to drink this poor bastard under the table.
  150.
  151. “Yer’ on.”
  152.
  153. >You finish the current mug and the bartender passes down two more, one for each of you.
  154. >A few mugs later and the surrounding p0nies get what’s going down.
  155. >You have an audience.
  156. >A few more and you’re both on pretty even terms.
  157. >Oh, he’s good.
  158. >But not good enough.
  159. >Several drinks later, you’re hammered and the stallion’s out cold.
  160. >Several p0nies are starting to worry he’s got alcohol poisoning.
  161. >You manage take the fifty bits off of the counter and put them in your wallet, almost missing several times.
  162. >Turns out word of your exploit made its way back to Luna.
  163. >You really aren’t all there when she arrives with two of her guards.
  164. >The tavern gets quiet and p0nies bow as she walks past.
  165.
  166. “Well howdy there, L-Luna!”
  167.
  168. >You manage.
  169.
  170. “What brings ya’ll this way?”
  171.
  172. >”We heard of your… misadventure. We have come to ensure you do not harm yourself returning to the castle.”
  173.
  174. “Thank y’ kindly, but I can handle m’self!”
  175.
  176. >You slur.
  177. >You stand up and attempt to walk before stumbling and catching yourself on a nearby table.
  178.
  179. “See? Fine!”
  180.
  181. >She nods and the guards go over and help you stand.
  182. >You shake them off.
  183.
  184. “Git yer’ hooves offa me! I-I can walk on my own two damn feet!”
  185.
  186. >You stumble to the door and catch yourself on the frame.
  187. >You look over to Luna and squint.
  188.
  189. “Mind tellin’ me why there’s three uh’ yah?”
  190.
  191. >She rolls her eyes and you feel a slight weightlessness as you’re held aloft by her telekinetic grasp.
  192. >Upon returning to the castle, she dismisses the guards.
  193. >You finally reach your room.
  194. >You balance yourself on the doorframe.
  195.
  196. “Thanks darlin’. I don’t know what I’d do without ya.”
  197.
  198. >Then you do something you’ll regret in the morning, but won’t be able to remember too well for a couple of reasons:
  199. >You slap the horse’s ass.
  200. >This earns you not only a comment of “I never!” but a hoof to the face as she bucks you unconscious.
  201.
  202. >The dreams are somewhat different now.
  203. >You see stars.
  204. >Literally.
  205. >The vast expanse of space is before you.
  206. >You’re ice cold, but the burning in your throat intensifies with each breath you take.
  207. >You realize something:
  208. >You’re on the moon.
  209. >Alone.
  210. >You try and scream but nothing; you can’t move.
  211.
  212. >You couldn’t believe he had the NERVE!
  213. >Even intoxicated that heavily, he should have at least known better than to… to…!
  214. >You can feel the heat of embarrassment on your visage as you return to your chambers.
  215. >Your guards raise eyebrows at your current state.
  216. >Unlike your sister, you were a bit more lenient with your guards’ behavior.
  217. >They were p0nies too, not emotionless sentries.
  218. >”Your highness? If you do not mind my asking… what seems to be wrong?”
  219.
  220. “Drag the human back into his chambers and lock the door! Keep a guard posted there until I return!”
  221.
  222. >”Yes ma’am.”
  223. >The two guards dispatch to Anon’s chambers.
  224. >You enter your own.
  225. >You go back to fuming about the nerve of him to have touched your flank, let alone slap it in such a manner!
  226. >You felt violated, furious, and yet…
  227. >Something about it was curiously pleasing.
  228. >You shake your head.
  229. >That was the most degrading thing anyp0ny had done to you EVER.
  230. >You curl up on your bed and go to sleep.
  231. >However, sleep is not to be your sanctuary.
  232. >You come face to face with HER in the depths of your mind.
  233. >You notice the chains that bind her have become fewer by one or two.
  234. >Your inner demon.
  235. >Your Nightmare.
  236. >”Admit it; if it was anyp0ny else you’d make their heads roll. Something’s different about him.”
  237.
  238. “We do not wish to speak with you. Us.”
  239.
  240. >She chuckles.
  241. >”Of course you don’t. But you can’t deny what I’m saying is the truth. After all, I’m you.”
  242.
  243. “SILENCE! Thou art not the same as Us! Thou art a vile creature!”
  244.
  245. >”I’m the darkness within your heart. I am the creature that feasts upon dreams and turns them to nightmares and all things obscene. But I’m you. And I know…”
  246.
  247. “Do not say it.”
  248.
  249. >”I know that…”
  250.
  251. “SILENCE!”
  252.
  253. >”You want him as more than just a friend.”
  254. >You can’t respond.
  255. >She is correct.
  256. >At first it was friendship, but you admired his headstrong attitude and his ability to say what was on his mind without a second thought.
  257. >The way he stood up to your sister.
  258. >He was arrogant, prideful, and full of himself, but he was the only one who’d ever stood up to your sister and questioned her treatment of you.
  259. >”See? You know I’m right. You also know…”
  260.
  261. “…Our sister wouldn’t have any of it. T’would have to be a secret.”
  262.
  263. >”That is.. unless you-!”
  264.
  265. “We will not betray our sister to the point of attacking her.”
  266.
  267. >She frowns.
  268. >”Very well. But I do believe you’ll come to see it my way.”
  269.
  270. >You wake up the next day with a splitting headache.
  271. >You vaguely remember going to a tavern and getting into a drinking match with a stallion there…
  272. >After that, you can’t recall anything.
  273. >You Realize you’re lying on the floor.
  274. >You manage your way to the bathroom and splash some cold water on your face.
  275. >Not much help, but it’s something.
  276. >No painkillers here yet.
  277. >You try to leave the room but the door’s locked.
  278. >”Sorry, but Princess Luna told us not to let you out until she comes back.” Said one voice.
  279. >Oh.
  280. >”What did you DO anyway? She seemed pretty upset.” Said a second voice.
  281.
  282. “Th’ Hell if I know. I don’t remember much anythyin’ from last night. I do got a mighty strong headache though.”
  283.
  284. >Mumbling and then hoofsteps that faded off.
  285. >”I sent Winter’s Vengeance off to get some mint. It’ll help your headache. I recommend you relax until Her Highness arrives.”
  286. >You sigh and go sit down at the desk and start up another game of Solitaire
  287. >Today is going to be a long day.
