  1. >Day Sugar rush in Equestria.
  2. >”Nightmare night! What a fright! Give us something sweet to bite!”
  3. >Standing with Lyra a few feet from the kids, you watch as the couple in front of you give each of the children some candy.
  4. >It was Nightmare Night, aka: Hope's second favorite holiday.
  5. >Along with your daughter, you are spending the evening with Manny, his mom, and Bindy.
  6. >You watch as the three kids and Minotaur woman rejoin you and Lyra.
  7. >Hope is smiling wide as she presents you her bag... you think.
  8. >She decided to go as something a bit different this year.
  9. >The hero, Slenderman.
  10. >How she can see through that mask and why she chose it to be green is beyond you.
  11. >Betty brushes a smudge off of Manny's horn as he fusses.
  12. >Apparently his father wanted him to go as Borat, a Minotaur general from way back when.
  13. >Bindy is showing Hope her bag as the two girls chat.
  14. >... Bindy is going as a binder.
  15. >Ironic?
  16. >Yes.
  17. >Fitting?
  18. >... Noooooooo.
  19. “So, which street should we hit next?”
  20. >Bindy raises her hoof.
  21. >”Ooh! Ooh! Can we stop by my house next? My mom and dad are giving out jumbo candy bars!”
  22. >Hope squeals and Manny seems to jump at the idea.
  23. >”Well what're we waiting for?”
  24. >As Bindy leads the two kids along, Lyra tries to keep up with them.
  25. >Betty sighs and brings a hand to her cheek.
  26. >”Thank you again for letting Manny come along with Hope.”
  27. >You flash the mother a smile as you follow your wife.
  28. “We do this every year Betty, it's always nice to see him and Hope having fun.”
  29. >The Minotaur woman seems to choke up a bit.
  30. >”I-I know, but still. Thank you.”
  31. >You furrow your brow with concern.
  32. “Is something wrong Betty?”
  33. >She sniffles, failing to hide that something is bothering her.
  34. >”N-Nothing deary, just allergies.”
  35. “Betty, if it's anything I can help with-”
  36. >”J-Just letting Manny play with Hope is help enough. Please, trust me.”
  37. >Deciding to listen to her, you drop the subject and continue to follow the kids as they make their way from house to house, slowly heading towards Bindy's.
  38.
  39.
  40. >”Ahhhhahah!”
  41. >Hope is gobbling up the gummy worms she got as quickly as she can, her mask tossed to the side.
  42. >”Mmm! I'll trade you one of my gum packs for that pack of jelly beans, Manny.”
  43. >”Deal!”
  44. >While your daughter gorges herself on sugar worms, Manny and Bindy are trading away the candies they dislike.
  45. >Hope wanted no part in it, liking nearly every candy there is equally.
  46. >You watch while stifling a laugh as Lyra makes sure Hope only enjoys a couple bags of gummy worms tonight and Betty inspects Manny's candy carefully for an cuts or tears.
  47. >All the while you have your bag full of -chaperone taxes- sitting next to you.
  48. >Ahh, no matter who you are, you have to love Halloween.
  49. >... Nightmare night.
  50. >Same thing.
  51.
  52.
  53. >”Ooooh...”
  54. >You are carrying the satyr with a tummy ache up to her room.
  55. >Her friends had left a while ago and she decided to sneak more candy than she could handle.
  56. “What did your mom say?”
  57. >She whimpers, grabbing her stomach.
  58. >”But it was sooooo good... I just wanted a couple more, and now...”
  59. >”Now you have to head to bed early while your dad fixes the stomach stuff.”
  60. >She could just call it lemon juice.
  61. >That's all it is.
  62. “Aaand now you have less candy for later.”
  63. >Your daughter fakes a throwing up motion.
  64. >”I never want candy again...”
  65. >Lie.
  66. >Tomorrow morning she'll be trying to find the bag that your wife has taken the liberty of hiding.
  67. “Come on, you know better.”
  68. >She groans and squirms in your arms.
  69. >”I know nothing, dad... I know nothing.”
  70. >Lyra opens the door as you near it.
  71. >Stepping in, you lay her down with her suit still on.
  72. “Do you know that your mother and I love you?”
  73. >She smiles a bit, letting off a soft nod.
  74. >You plant a kiss on her forehead and ruffle her hair.
  75. “Good. Now I'll go fix the juice. Get changed into your pj's when you can and go to sleep. Okay?”
  76. >Hope lets off an affirmative nod and continues to rub her belly.
  77. >Heading downstairs and to the kitchen, you look to the wrappers on the floor.
  78. “Gonna have to clean those up...”
  79. >Grabbing a  lemon, you cut it in half and get ready to squeeze it.
  80. >*Thmp...*
  81. >You turn around, knife in hand.
  82. “Lyra?”
  83. >No answer.
  84. >... Turning around, you squeeze the lemon into the glass.
  85. >Heading towards the pantry, you look for the sugar.
  86. >*Thmp...*
  87. >Closing the pantry, you turn around.
  88. “Hello?”
  89. >Still no answer.
  90. >Grabbing the sugar, you head back to the glass.
  91. >You take a spoon full and add it to the cup.
  92. >As you do, a large solid white hand places itself on your shoulder.
  93. >”... boo.”
  94. >You grab it and grip it roughly.
  95. >Starting to twist, you turn around to see your wife stifling a laugh as she levitates something.
  96. >Groaning, you notice the hand is actually just a stuffed glove and attached to a stick.
  97. “Not funny.”
  98. >You toss the stick to the side and sigh.
  99. >”Oh, it was a little funny.”
  100. >Lyra steps next to you and you begin to rub your forehead.
  101. >She sees you didn't take the joke well and places her head against your leg.
  102. >”I'm sorry dear...”
  103. “It's okay... I just... nerves.”
  104. >Stupid Earth scary movies.
  105. >Your wife flashes you a smile before her eyes open wide.
  106. “Lyra?”
  107. >She smiles again, more seductively this time, eyes going half lidded.
  108. >”I've been such a bad girl... pranking my husband while he tries to help our daughter.”
  109. >Smirking, you fill the rest of Hope's glass with water and mix it.
  110. “Yeah. Very bad.”
  111. >She sways her hips in front of you, running her tail across your lap.
  112. >”I need some punishment... maybe, from a firm hand?”
  113. >You chuckle, walking past your wife and giving her a firm slap on the ass.
  114. “And now you are teasing him. That's just mean.”
  115. >”Who said I was teasing big boy?~”
  116. >You chuckle again, knowing the two of you won't do anything while Hope is like this.
  117. >Taking the glass to your daughter, you continue to take your wife's teases all the while.
