- >Day Sugar rush in Equestria.
- >”Nightmare night! What a fright! Give us something sweet to bite!”
- >Standing with Lyra a few feet from the kids, you watch as the couple in front of you give each of the children some candy.
- >It was Nightmare Night, aka: Hope's second favorite holiday.
- >Along with your daughter, you are spending the evening with Manny, his mom, and Bindy.
- >You watch as the three kids and Minotaur woman rejoin you and Lyra.
- >Hope is smiling wide as she presents you her bag... you think.
- >She decided to go as something a bit different this year.
- >The hero, Slenderman.
- >How she can see through that mask and why she chose it to be green is beyond you.
- >Betty brushes a smudge off of Manny's horn as he fusses.
- >Apparently his father wanted him to go as Borat, a Minotaur general from way back when.
- >Bindy is showing Hope her bag as the two girls chat.
- >... Bindy is going as a binder.
- >Ironic?
- >Yes.
- >Fitting?
- >... Noooooooo.
- “So, which street should we hit next?”
- >Bindy raises her hoof.
- >”Ooh! Ooh! Can we stop by my house next? My mom and dad are giving out jumbo candy bars!”
- >Hope squeals and Manny seems to jump at the idea.
- >”Well what're we waiting for?”
- >As Bindy leads the two kids along, Lyra tries to keep up with them.
- >Betty sighs and brings a hand to her cheek.
- >”Thank you again for letting Manny come along with Hope.”
- >You flash the mother a smile as you follow your wife.
- “We do this every year Betty, it's always nice to see him and Hope having fun.”
- >The Minotaur woman seems to choke up a bit.
- >”I-I know, but still. Thank you.”
- >You furrow your brow with concern.
- “Is something wrong Betty?”
- >She sniffles, failing to hide that something is bothering her.
- >”N-Nothing deary, just allergies.”
- “Betty, if it's anything I can help with-”
- >”J-Just letting Manny play with Hope is help enough. Please, trust me.”
- >Deciding to listen to her, you drop the subject and continue to follow the kids as they make their way from house to house, slowly heading towards Bindy's.
- >”Ahhhhahah!”
- >Hope is gobbling up the gummy worms she got as quickly as she can, her mask tossed to the side.
- >”Mmm! I'll trade you one of my gum packs for that pack of jelly beans, Manny.”
- >”Deal!”
- >While your daughter gorges herself on sugar worms, Manny and Bindy are trading away the candies they dislike.
- >Hope wanted no part in it, liking nearly every candy there is equally.
- >You watch while stifling a laugh as Lyra makes sure Hope only enjoys a couple bags of gummy worms tonight and Betty inspects Manny's candy carefully for an cuts or tears.
- >All the while you have your bag full of -chaperone taxes- sitting next to you.
- >Ahh, no matter who you are, you have to love Halloween.
- >... Nightmare night.
- >Same thing.
- >”Ooooh...”
- >You are carrying the satyr with a tummy ache up to her room.
- >Her friends had left a while ago and she decided to sneak more candy than she could handle.
- “What did your mom say?”
- >She whimpers, grabbing her stomach.
- >”But it was sooooo good... I just wanted a couple more, and now...”
- >”Now you have to head to bed early while your dad fixes the stomach stuff.”
- >She could just call it lemon juice.
- >That's all it is.
- “Aaand now you have less candy for later.”
- >Your daughter fakes a throwing up motion.
- >”I never want candy again...”
- >Lie.
- >Tomorrow morning she'll be trying to find the bag that your wife has taken the liberty of hiding.
- “Come on, you know better.”
- >She groans and squirms in your arms.
- >”I know nothing, dad... I know nothing.”
- >Lyra opens the door as you near it.
- >Stepping in, you lay her down with her suit still on.
- “Do you know that your mother and I love you?”
- >She smiles a bit, letting off a soft nod.
- >You plant a kiss on her forehead and ruffle her hair.
- “Good. Now I'll go fix the juice. Get changed into your pj's when you can and go to sleep. Okay?”
- >Hope lets off an affirmative nod and continues to rub her belly.
- >Heading downstairs and to the kitchen, you look to the wrappers on the floor.
- “Gonna have to clean those up...”
- >Grabbing a lemon, you cut it in half and get ready to squeeze it.
- >*Thmp...*
- >You turn around, knife in hand.
- “Lyra?”
- >No answer.
- >... Turning around, you squeeze the lemon into the glass.
- >Heading towards the pantry, you look for the sugar.
- >*Thmp...*
- >Closing the pantry, you turn around.
- “Hello?”
- >Still no answer.
- >Grabbing the sugar, you head back to the glass.
- >You take a spoon full and add it to the cup.
- >As you do, a large solid white hand places itself on your shoulder.
- >”... boo.”
- >You grab it and grip it roughly.
- >Starting to twist, you turn around to see your wife stifling a laugh as she levitates something.
- >Groaning, you notice the hand is actually just a stuffed glove and attached to a stick.
- “Not funny.”
- >You toss the stick to the side and sigh.
- >”Oh, it was a little funny.”
- >Lyra steps next to you and you begin to rub your forehead.
- >She sees you didn't take the joke well and places her head against your leg.
- >”I'm sorry dear...”
- “It's okay... I just... nerves.”
- >Stupid Earth scary movies.
- >Your wife flashes you a smile before her eyes open wide.
- “Lyra?”
- >She smiles again, more seductively this time, eyes going half lidded.
- >”I've been such a bad girl... pranking my husband while he tries to help our daughter.”
- >Smirking, you fill the rest of Hope's glass with water and mix it.
- “Yeah. Very bad.”
- >She sways her hips in front of you, running her tail across your lap.
- >”I need some punishment... maybe, from a firm hand?”
- >You chuckle, walking past your wife and giving her a firm slap on the ass.
- “And now you are teasing him. That's just mean.”
- >”Who said I was teasing big boy?~”
- >You chuckle again, knowing the two of you won't do anything while Hope is like this.
- >Taking the glass to your daughter, you continue to take your wife's teases all the while.
