  1. Day Saxxual-Content in Equestria
  2. >You wake up, to the smell of smoke.
  3. >Immediately you shoot awake, pulling on a pair of boxers you keep bedside for emergencies.
  4. >You head out onto the lookout of your home, and you see no fire, and no smoke.
  5. >Perhaps it's outside?
  6. >You head back into the bedroom, grab a jacket, some pants, and your shoes, before dressing at a speed many would be proud of.
  7. >You head outside, and you see it.
  8. >The Library at the center of the town is burning up!
  9. >The fire seems relatively minimal, especially considering how much flammable material there is inside, but this doesn't change the fact that the structure is on fire, and there may be a pony and a baby dragon trapped inside.
  10. >You run your way down to the scene of the conflagration, and there are a few Fire-P0nies setting up in a rush, trying to get the fire out, before it really kicks up.
  11. >You look around for any sign of purple-smart or baby-purple.
  12. >Spike, is in his basket, apparently still asleep, and being looked over by Fluttershy.
  13. >All but one of the Mane-6 are gathered, and they all look afraid.
  14. >Books begin levitating out of opened windows.
  15. >It appears Twilight is trying to save them.
  16. >Figures
  17.
  18. 1/?
  19. >You make a split-second decision, and run into the library yourself, to try and help her evacuate the books, and then herself.
  20. >As you make it through the doorway, a large flaming branch crashes to the ground where you stood moments ago.
  21. >Time is short.
  22. >The first floor appears to be completed, in terms of books evacuated, so you head upstairs to see Twilight, hyperventilating on the floor.  Sucking down smoke faster than a smoker at a cigar factory in Cuba during the middle of a napalm strike.
  23. >Panic is definitely an understandable response, but if she continues, she will definitely pass out soon.
  24. >Luckily you were an EMT for a while back on human earth, and you've kept your skills relatively intact.
  25. >Do they work on ponies though?
  26. >No time to second guess yourself

  28. >You head over to the barely conscious pony, roll her onto her back, and listen for breathing and a heartbeat.
  29. >She's flatlining fast, and her breathing is shallow.
  30. >You have to get her to focus, because it'll be more dangerous to try and revive her, than it would be to try and keep he conscious.
  31. >Saying her name doesn't work, giving her a shake doesn't work, nothing sensible is working.
  32. >Wincing, you slap her across the face, hoping the shock will jar her into focus.
  33. >It doesn't.
  34. >Check again for a heart beat.
  35. >None.
  36. >A feeling of terror rises in your breast, but you've dealt with this before.  You need to stay calm, otherwise you'll lose her for sure.
  37. >Tilt her head back.
  38. >Make sure her breathing passages are clear of any blockages.
  39. >Block her nostrils.
  40. >Begin rescue breaths.
  41. >Push 1..2..3  come on.
  42. >Breaths
  43. >Push 1..2..3 Come ON!
  44. 2/?
  45.
  46. >Check for her heartbeat.
  47. >You've got a beat!
  48. >It's weak, but it's stable, now you need to get the two of you out of the tree.
  49. >You hear crashing outside the room, and when you go to look, you see the fire has grown to a consuming inferno.  The crash was the stairway collapsing on itself
  50. >You're not going down that way, that's for sure, simply opening the door has hit you with a wave of heat so intense, it almost knocks you out yourself.
  51. >You close the door, and block the space under it with some towels nearby, this'll keep the smoke from coming in.
  52. >You need time, and it's very short
  53. >You throw open the window, and you call out hoping one of the gathered Ponies will come to see, and set up a trampoline so you can jump down with Twilight.
  54. >Rainbow Dash hears you
  55. >She and your other friends help the Fire-P0nies set up the trampoline.
  56. >You look behind you, and the door is warped from the heat of the flames, you grab Twilight in your arms.
  57. >You steel yourself
  58. >You jump.
  59. 3/?
  60.
  61. >You wake up in a hospital bed, It's daylight, and judging by the brightness you guess it to be around 1pm-ish.
  62. >The fire happened in the dead of night
  63. >How is twilight?
  64. >You slip out from under the covers, and attempt to get out of bed
  65. >You fall immediately, One of your legs is in a full cast, and the foot on the other leg has been heavily dressed, perhaps it caught fire at some point after losing consciousness?
  66. >You are likely on some form of painkiller right now, as you can feel no pain from either injury.
  67. >You look around for some kind of buzzer to call in the nurse and ask about what happened.
  68. >You spot it on the table at the other side of your bed.
  69. >Bloody Brilliant.
  70. >You somehow manage to get up then grab the remote, and you push the green button on it.
  71. >No response.
  72. >You try the red one.
  73. 4/?
  74.
  75. >In walks nurse Redheart, followed by the Mane 6 minus Twilight
  76. >Your heart sinks, and you begin to fear the worst.  Were you too slow? Did you imagine the heartbeat you heard? Did you kill her by letting go when you jumped?
  77. >The ponies seem to realize your concern, and quickly put an end to it by telling you that Twilight's perfectly fine, a bit weak from the whole ordeal, but all things considered, much better off thanks to your intervention.  They all beam and tear up as they thank you, and shower you in praise.
  78. >Dash has brought you a gift.  A copy of the First Daring-Do book, she tells you about how it helped her pass the time when she was stuck in the hospital a while ago.
  79. >She'd been asking you to read it for a while now, so she could have someone else to talk to about it.  You'd been meaning to get around to it, and now you have the time, so why not?
  80. 5/6
  81.
  82. >You thank her, and promise you'll get it back to her when you're done with it.
  83. >The others all have things to give you, a new coat from rarity, a party from pinkie(when you're all better that is), AJ has a few Bottles of her "Specially aged AppleJack-Daniels" to share with you when you feel like you want some good company, and good drinks.
  84. >Fluttershy has decided, that for her gift, she will be your caretaker for the duration of your recovery.  You have mixed feelings about that
  85. >She is definitely a good caretaker, you've seen how she is with her animals, but she also gives you this uncomfortable feeling.  She's often a bit overly-affectionate with you, and you've caught her staring at you several times before.
  86. >Well, if worse comes to worse, you can always just get someone else to look after you.  The Ponies have taken a liking to you by and large, seeing as you've helped most all of them at one point or another since you came here.
  87. >You hate to call in on favors like that, but it's Fluttershy, the element of kindness, so what's the worst that could happen?
